My life feels like a repeat performance of last January when it comes to illness. Despite rest, meds and lots of home remedies I cannot shake this bronchitis. I am seriously miserable. I hate even talking about it. The “You’re still sick?” and “Did you see a Doctor?” comments. Ugh.ย  Not to mention the well meaning advice. @&* #!^%!!! Anywho. I am getting excited about my upcoming blog anniversary and planning some fun posts and giveaways for y’all.ย  Tell me something wonderful that happened in your week. Did you read a five star book? I’m sorry to hear you’re still sick. Hopefully since it’s been a few days you’re feeling a bit better. I can imagine you’re sick of talking about it or dealing with it! Something good here – We decided to go on a quick vacation very last minute. We aren’t last minute people at all so I’m feeling a bit shell shocked trying to get everything planned but I’m so excited! Hope you’re having a lovely week!

  2. Sam @ Sharing Inspired Kreations

Sorry about your health issues – that sounds awful! Hopefully you can kick it soon! I recently struggled with recurring pericarditis, which lasted (off and on) about seven months, so I know how much it sucks to be so ill and to just be sick of talking about it! I’m hoping I’ve finally kicked it!

  3. Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books

Oh no! It seriously SUCKS when you can’t shake an illness. ๐Ÿ™ I’m rooting for you to kick it’s ass soon!
My bookish happy last week was discovering a new (complete) UF series available on KU! I inhaled one book after another and really enjoyed it but am left annoyed that the series is finished as there is so much more that could be explored! ๐Ÿ™

  4. Lover Of Romance

I am so sorry you haven’t been feeling good for so long, and I hope you get to feeling better soon. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers darling. Thanks for being such a great blogger and friend. Love what you do.

  5. Renee

I hope you’re feeling much better! I hate being sick. I love everything about your website, its fun and engaging. Keep up the good work.

  6. Tyler H. Jolley

I had a fun weekend, took the wife and kids to Denver for a Def Leppard/Journey concert. They were great! The kids even liked it. I hope you really have a great week, Kimba. Lung stuff can, sadly, stick around for a long time. I’m so sorry.

  7. S. J. Pajonas

Ugh! I’m so sorry to hear you’re still sick. Especially during the summer, that’s the worst. I hope you’re able to kick it sometime soon. My week was fairly boring, but I’m really loving my current audiobook listen, SCYTHE by Neil Shusterman. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m so sorry you are still sick! That is the worst! I really didn’t read anything last week. I had so much going on, both at work and in my personal life. I did get to meet my new puppy, who is still too young to come home with me, and that was fun. She’s soooo cute!

I get those โ€œDid you see a Doctor?โ€ comments and well meaning advice all the time, so I know how incredibly frustrating it is. I hope you kick this bronchitis soon and feel better <3

  10. Jorie

    Hallo, Hallo everyone!

๐Ÿ™‚ I’m finally picking up where I left off when I was recapping #WyrdAndWonder – I had a long hard few months, this month I started to reclaim my reading life (which I go into detail about) whilst finding a re-appreciation for #INSPYreads whilst undertaking a self-directed reading challenge! Plus, I talk about how Mum and I are enjoying reading the same INSPY Suspense novels, why audiobooks are rockin’ my life right now and how exciting it is to have acquired my first *pre-order!* for an audiobook release by an author I love reading!

Lots of lovely things to share and it was just nice to be able to sit and journal out the stories which have captured me this July whilst I was taking a self-motivated blogging hiatus before returning back to frequent postings.

Hope everyone else is having a wicked good July – I’ll start visiting this week!

    • Jorie

PS: I can’t believe it – I thought I had checked the url for my Sunday Post!? Clearly, I missed something crucial – the year was WRONG! I re-listed the right link under “Jorie – updated link* – unsure if the previous one can be deleted but if it could, I would appreciate it! Very sorry for the error… I was bounced offline so many times in 3hrs you’d think I’d have abandoned trying to do anything online tonight! (truly lightning storms are a bone of contention!)

  11. Aj @ Read All The Things!

I read a 5-star book! It was Salt to the Sea. I think thatโ€™s my 11th 5-star book of 2018. I hope you feel better soon. Have a great week and enjoy your new books.

  12. Nise'

Sorry you are sick, I can empathize with you as it has been that kind of a year for me as well. Because I have been feeling yucky I tend to reach for romances.

  13. MarthaE

I sure hope that you get better soon. I had a great reading week. Lots of books I liked. – including Dispatcher ๐Ÿ™‚
Your new books like fun. Happy Reading and happy anniversary planning!

  14. Stefanie

I do not like reading bronchitis has not made its exit yet. Sorry. What good thing happened in my week? Well, two things: 1. I purged of crap we didn’t need or expired items that needed to go & 2. I had the best visit with my bestie!

  15. Charlie

Oh, Kimba, that totally stinks. I am so sorry you can’t seem to kick it. That is like me with these damn ear infections. I actually spent the entire day with my mom the day I got my CT scan and my brother crashed our movie. We saw Hotel Transylvania 3 and it was so funny!

  16. Angela

Sorry to hear you are still sick. I hope it goes way for you soon. I celebrated my birthday last week. My boys took me out to dinner for my big day, which was a wonderful treat. We don’t usually go out to eat unless family is in town to visit. Have a great week and happy reading!

  17. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Oh no! Sorry to hear that the bronchitis won’t leave! That must be dreadful. I wish I knew of some home remedy to recommend, but sadly, I know nothing. Unfortunately as well, my week was blah with nothing happy to report.

The books are all new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy each and every one of them!

    Here’s my STS

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with sickness still. That’s just awful. And having to deal with people giving unasked for advice is not fun either!!
Fun news for me? Hmm…I saw the new Mama Mia last night and it was really fun.

  19. Kristin @ AddictedtoHEA

    *HUG*
What did I do this week? I watched a movie, which my hubs complains I never do anymore. I enjoyed it, too! o.O Just a fun, stupid movie that we had saved on our DVR. I never stop to watch movies. Smell the “roses” and all that ๐Ÿ˜‰ “Love your body, Larry”…

  20. Lorna

Since you don’t want to talk about it, i won’t except to say, feel better! 5 star listen for me this week was All My Perfects by Colleen Hoover-although the narrator was only 4 stars for me.

  21. Lola

I am sorry to hear you’re still sick, that must suck :(. I hope you feel better soon. I finished a great book this week that was exactly the type of read I was in the mood for. Have a great week!

  22. Tanya @ Rantings of a Reading Addict

We’ve had some really upsetting health new regarding my dad and we’ve been dealing with that for a few weeks now. I’m trying my best to stay positive hoping that it will encourage him to stay that way as he fights this.

I’m getting ready to head to Savannah for Literary Lovers Savannah next week. It sounds like a lot of fun and I’m going to be meeting some new to me authors. Me being the introvert that I am, am also very nervous. I hope I can come out of my shell enough to enjoy myself!

I hope you get to feeling better!

Kimberly, I’m so sorry your sick in the Summertime! Last Monday, we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary by taking a trip to Ireland! We went to a lovely restaurant in Killkenny, Ireland, and left our worries behind!
    Wishing you a speedy recovery.

  24. Northwoman

I really, really hope you feel better. I am back from my whirlwind trip of 2 days of driving, one day where I got to see Melanie. I was so tired last night, but yay! I feel energetic today and I have plans. I listened to Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik and LOVED it. I also enjoyed the audio of How to Save an Undead Life by Hailey Edwards. I only work one day this week so I hope to get lots of things, including reading accomplished. Anne – Books of My Heart

Sorry you are still sick! Hang in there! I had doctors appointments all week (boo) but the best thing was not a single one of them cost me even a copay! Woohoo!!! I saved $75!

I’m so sorry you’re still fighting this thing. I’ll avoid the advice and simply say, I hope you feel better soon! Something wonderful to report? Hmmm… I’m really enjoying The Shadowy Horses by Susanna Kearsley. And I finally managed to get a few reviews written and posted, which considering my reviewing slump of the last few months, feels like a major triumph!

Hmm something fun that happened to me this past week? Well I did a maternity photo shoot for my friend who is 8-months pregnant and it was my first maternity photo shoot. I just went over all the photos and it turned out great! I love any chance to break out my fancy DSLR ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m sorry you are still feeling crappy. I hate those summer bugs. The highlight of my week. Well, I’ll start with the bad, my car completely died Thursday and I was stuck on the highway with my daughter for a long time. After lots of talks (me and the hubby) we got a new (used) car! Lots of test driving this weekend of course. Not much time for anything else and I am in the last two weeks of school! YAY! I plan to visit all of your reviews (as I love them) and some other blogs that I have been neglecting. Cross those fingers for me that I pass with flying colors! =0)
Have a great week and feel better.

    Mary

  31. Melissa

Oh my. I’m sorry you are having a terrible time with the sickness. Hope you feel better.

We’ve been trying to stay busy, which isn’t hard these days. Hope you have a good week!

  32. sjhigbee

Yes… whenever I go down with a major chest infection (increasingly rare as I get older, happily) they always hang around faaar longer than I’d like:(. Sorry to hear you are still struggling and I’ll leave it at that!
I’ve had two WONDERFUL reads this last week – The Wild Dead by Carrie Vaughn was a lovely surprise and Adrian Tchaikovsky’s Redemption’s Blade: After the War was him at his dazzling best…

  33. Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra

It really sucks that the bronchitis keeps lingering. It seems like everyone I know who has been sick recently has had a hard time shaking whatever they have. I do hope you feel better soon.

Oh and thanks so much for featuring my discussion post! Totally my day to see it on your list ๐Ÿ™‚

  34. Jolene Wilson

I read a 5 star book. It was Harbor Me by Jacqueline Woodson. Highly recommend it. La la in the Library and I will be kicking off our 2nd annual Dog Days of Summer reading challenge on August 1st. My husband and I celebrated our 22 year anniversary yesterday. Hope you feel better soon!

  35. Yvonne

I’m so sorry you are still sick. I hope you feel better soon.

I had a 5 star read this week which is actually my favorite of 2018 (so far, we’re only halfway through the year) – The Subway Girls by Susie Orman Schnall. I loved this one so much.

Hope you have a good week and are starting to feel better.

  36. Ailyn Koay

Time for some probiotics and olive leaf, I know this might sound stupid but I have managed to keep healthy with the 2… I also feed them to my Brats and they seem ok this year.

  37. Danielle Nolan

I am so sorry! I wish you could catch a break ? Good news here? I haven’t finished any books in a few days because my reading going slow, but my last read Nyxia Unleashed by Scott Reintgen is probably going to be 5 stars if not very close. Sending you good vibes!

  38. RO

Your Totally Random pic definitely shows how you’ve been feeling. Hang in there! I’ve been reading Brad Thor – Spymaster, and it’s full of excitement, theories and action, and I should finish today. I’ve been sick, so I managed to catch a few movies too like Life of the Party, Geostorm, Billionaire Boys Club and Tully. Tully really did a great job of displaying the stress of motherhood and all it involves, even with a loving husband who is clueless to what’s going on with his wife. Get some rest, and happy reading. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs…RO

  39. A Voracious Reader

I’m so sorry you’re sick, Kim! I’ll wing some {{{posivibes}}} your way ASAP. I didn’t have anything particularly wonderful happen this week, but I do thank you for alerting me to the Prime KU 99ยข deal. Maybe I can stock up on monster porn now. ๐Ÿ™‚

  40. Stormi

Hope you feel better soon! My biggest thing I did this week is start a booktube channel that I am really nervous about…lol. Other than that it was like 100 out and so I stayed by the AC all week! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Have a great week!

We’re on staycation here at our house. Just going to hang out most of the week due to some nasty weather, so m husband is trying to teach me how to play a game on the xbox one. Not going so well though. lol.. I did have a 5 star read this week, the first in a little while too. hope you have a great Sunday Kim. Enjoy those new books too.

  42. Ceri

Yay! Blogiversary! Isn’t it the worst when everyone around you suddenly becomes a doctor and an expert on anything medical? Or they start suggesting things you could do as if you hadn’t already thought of that so far. Ugh.

  43. Nick

Kim, I’m sorry you’re still battling with an annoying illness. I can understand how irritating it is when it doesn’t go away. All of my family members had that while on vacation last month and it was very frustrating. :/
I hope you have some fabulous books to keep you company while you are on the mend though.
    Take care!

  44. Michelle Gilmore

I hope you feel better! I’m going through similar crap right now with health advice. Let’s see…My birthday was this past week (forgot to mention that in my post…*scurries off*) and while I had it work it was still pretty nice. I also sent out a couple of packages to some book buddies of mine and I’m excited to see if they like them.

  45. Laurel-Rain Snow

I hope that rest will finally chase away that bronchitis…and that your delightful books will be great companions for you.

    Happy upcoming blog anniversary!

  46. Greg

Aw feel better Kimba! Hopefully soon. Let’s see- what happened this week? Oh I finished a book I’d been slogging through for TWO WEEKS, and then the next book was awesome and I blew through it. I guess that was the highlight of my week. ๐Ÿ™‚
