I cannot believe it is mid-July already! Summer needs to start getting lazy and slow down. Well, I ended up with Bronchitis and my cough is beginning to loosen. I took a few days off from watching the Royals and that really helped. Nights are still crap with coughing and drainage. Ugh. Our son and his girlfriend got their first apartment this weekend and we are officially empty nesters. Now to convince Mr. Caffeinated we need to downsize. We went car hunting and ended up getting a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited. It is a nice ride, but we were both wiped out after spending the afternoon at the dealers. I’ve picked up some awesome reads this week and look forward to devouring them and sharing my thoughts. Stay Caffeinated!

I got the first Mercy Kaptrick book by Kendra Elliot through the Prime library and loved it. I decided I would read the series. The rest of the books are 4.99 a pop and I figured I would get one a month, but then I got a notice for a Prime Day, Kindle unlimited deal. You get three months for 99 cents. Hallie Edwards backlist is also in KU and I jumped at the deal. So, prepare as I will be devouring and reviewing a lot of KU books for the next few months. Here is the deal for Prime members: Prime Day – Kindle Unlimited $3 bounty

I hope you are better by now as I’m a week late. I did a whole lotta cleaning this past week. It feels good.
Daniela Ark
I know! Summer goes WAY too fast! Sorry to hear you had Bronchitis! Hope you are feeling better by now! Congrats to your son and his girlfriend! Downsizing sounds great! Less to clean and maintain more time to read and blog [winks]
Aj @ Read All The Things!
Congrats on the new car! I hope you feel better soon.
I made my blog a Pinterest account yesterday, and your account was one of the first ones I followed. Itâs helpful that Pinterest gives me suggestions for who to follow because I have no idea what Iâm doing with that site yet.
Tizzy
Congrats on your new car! I hope you beat that cold soon and feel better.
sherry fundin
I totally agree! Summer needs to slow down!!!!
Tanya @ Rantings of a Reading Addict
Bronchitis really sucks. The doctor thinks my daughter got pleurisy (sp?) from extreme coughing. Have you had that happen to you? Congrats on the new Jeep! That has got to be a sweet ride. You deserve it though after getting all your kiddos raised and out of the house! LOL I hope you feel better and enjoy those KU books!
sjhigbee
Urg! Bronchitis in this weather should be made illegal! Hm… not sure how large your house it – but now our grandchildren are growing, we are definitely in need of at least another extra bedroom, as they now have a room each when they come to stay. I hope your recovery continues, preferably quickly. Nothing worse than hacking through a hot night… Take carex
Stephanie Jane
Sorry to hear you’re still unwell, hope that bronchitis clears up soon.
Downsizing is one of our favourite hobbies it seems. There is something quite therapeutic about a good clear out!
Christy
Aww the kiddos flew the coop. đ I’ve been contemplating downsizing, but my son & his friends are still over here a lot. I have the pool & good food. bwahahaha! Congrats on the new car. My son got a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited after he wrecked his truck – super comfy seats. đ HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER!
MarthaE
Yes, it would be nice if things slowed a bit. I do hope you are feeling much better.
We have been making small talk about downsizing but it is intimidating with years of accumulations. Enjoy the new Jeep. We have an old one that keeps hanging in… both the kids say they want it if we ever decide to get rid of it.
That is an impressive set of new books to read. I have my eye on Kill The Farm Boy.
Happy Reading!
Tyler H. Jolley
I’m so sorry you’re sick, it’s unfair to be ill in the summer. Congrats on being empty nesters, less to clean for sure, even if you don’t downsize. Double congrats on the new car. Isn’t it crazy how long it takes to buy a car? It’s like a whole day ordeal, if not longer.
Angela
Hope you feel better. Have a great week and happy reading!
ShootingStarsMag
Oh no, I hope you are starting to feel better! That’s awful.
I’m with you on the summer though – it really needs to slow down. I can’t believe it’s halfway through July already.
Oooh lucky you for having Caught in Time to review! Love that series.
-Lauren
Carole @ Carole's Random Life in Books
I hate that you have been sick again. You have had more than your fair share of illness this year. How does the empty nest feel? I have about a year until my baby goes away to college and then it will just me, the hubby, and my 3 furry girls who are my favorite children đ Have a great week!
Megan @ Ginger Mom and the Kindle Quest
I read I Flipping Love You closer to release day and absolutely loved it!! She is definitely on my auto-buy list now đ
Ceri
Sorry to hear about the bronchitis. đ That’s awful.
Being empty nesters might seem like a sad thing right now but you’ll probably quite enjoy it eventually. I think it’s natural to think about downsizing though – especially when you’ve got so much space now and not so much to do with it.
Melanie Simmons
I’m just now starting to get back into the swing of things. I’ve got 9 reviews I need to write and I still need to visit blogs and get caught there. I’m glad you’re feeling better.
blodeuedd
Eeeek KIll the farm boy! I am so curious about that one
Sophia Rose
Oh fun about the new Jeep and getting past the yucky bronchitis. Yes, the summer has flown by. đ I have Caught in Time, too.
Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard
Congratulations on the new car — and the empty nest! Luckily you have the Royals to keep it from feeling too empty. I hope you get over the bronchitis soon. You’ve had really bad luck with respiratory infections the last few years.
Anna @ Read and Repeat
Bronchitis? Yikes! I hope you feel better soon
vvb
A new car – fun! Fight or Flight is the one I want to read. Cute cover to boot. Enjoy.
Samantha
Sorry you got sick! But I hope you like The Real Deal by Lauren Blakely! I’ve heard good things. My husband has a Jeep Cherokee and loves it.
Sophie
Sorry to hear about bronchitis! But on a totally other note your book cartoon made me laugh so hard!!!! Now congrats on the new car and yes it’s exhausting spending time at car dealrship.
Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books
Fingers crossed your recovery continues to go well! Bronchitis is a devil.
I had to google your new car (I’m terrible with cars) but it looks good!
Mary Kirkland
Hope you’re over that cold soon.
Ronnie @ Paradise Found
Owlmen is such a cool title, it gives me chills!! Enjoy your new books! đ
Lorna
So sorry about your bronchitis. I had it this past winter and honestly it scared me because I couldn’t stop coughing in order to breathe. Hope your continues to clear up. I got that KU deal about a month ago. I’m afraid I will forget to drop it when the time is up though. Couldn’t pass that deal up! Congrats on your new car!
Kimberly
That is how I am at night Lorna. It is awful. Of course the heat doesn’t help. I slept until almost noon today. We are going to help my son a little and then I am going to try to get some much needed rest before the Royals arrive tomorrow morning at 7:30
Chrissy
I hope your cough goes away soon! And congrats on the new Jeep!
Have a great week!
Jennifer | Book Den
Wow. Empty Nest is a huge step. It’s an exciting step for your son, too. I hope you are feeling better.
LORI CASWELL
What a busy week! Hope you kick the bug for good soon.
Northwoman
I hope you feel better soon. At least you have some great reads to keep you company. Empty nester is quite a thing. My daughter is still with me but I am trying to do the sort/throw thing since we just have too much stuff. I just hate to get rid of good things I might need but I’m getting tired of moving them around. That’s one reason why I have embraced digital for books, audiobooks and movies so strongly.
I got a new used car this year – an electric hybrid – Chevy Volt. It is a lot smaller than my mini van but I’m not hauling around 7 Girl Scouts and all their ski equipment anymore either. It will go about 50 miles a day before I have to switch to gas. I’ve only gotten gas 3 times this year so far, the last time mid-June. But I’m traveling this week to see Melanie so I’ll have to get a tank. Anne – Books of My Heart

I have to chuckle at the meme you shared. I worked with a woman who would wear headphones with nothing on just to avoid interruptions so she could get her work done!
Oh, man. I am in total disagreement. I wish this summer would speed by. I am so over this heat. I always joke that I don’t complain all winter just so I can complain in the summer. LOL
Thanks for sharing!
Sumedha
I tried audio books a couple times but I don’t think they’re for me. Probably because as much as I love books, I also love music. I need both in my daily life so listening to an audio book takes away my music time.
S. J. Pajonas
My husband just got a new car recently too. It’s interesting looking out the window and seeing it in the driveway instead of the old car. Hope you enjoy your new ride!
Charlie
In about 8 days my parents will be empty nesters. It will be strange. My mom said she wanted to get an inside dog – after 15 years of saying “I will not have any more dogs!” I hope you start feeling better! I had bronchitis and the flu at the same time in college and it was awful. Congrats on your new car! A Jeep like me!
Ronyell (a.k.a Rabbitearsblog)
Awww…sorry to hear about your bronchitis. I hope you feel better soon! Also, it’s great getting a new car, but going through all those paper work for the car can be exhausting!
Grace @ Rebel Mommy Book Blog
Hope you start to feel even better. A new car is fun but can totally be a tiring experience. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

Enjoy your books and home alone
Mary @StackingMyBookShelves!
I have to check out that KU deal. I am on vacation in a few weeks and can’t wait! Glad to hear you are doing better too. I can’t stand summer colds. Have a wonderful week and I have to get over to your review for the week as I am behind on them!
Mary
Darlene
Amazon.com won’t let me use the Prime Deal because I’m not in USA even though my Kindle library is from that site đ
I actually bought the audiobook for A Merciful Death by Kendra Elliot on Audible. I better bump it up my TBR!
Glad that you are feeling somewhat better. I wish summer would slow down too. We have such a brief time to enjoy the pool, and it’s been crazy hot here but I can’t complain because our winters are so cold! Have a great week!
Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra
I hope that you feel 100% better soon! Wow for the empty nest — my son is only 10 so I can’t even imagine what that moment will feel like when he gets a place of his own. My hubby and I are in the process of car shopping as well. There are so many choices out there, it’s almost overwhelming!
Lola
I’ll be happy once we nearing the end of summer, it’s way too warm for my taste these days. I hope you’re feeling better soon. Car hunting sounds exhausting, but that’s good you got a nice ride now. Have a great week!
Samantha
I need summer to slow down too but at the same time I am really looking forward to fall weather! I hope that you start to feel better soon! Have a great week!
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Sounds like busy times! Hope you’re feeling better too! Summer colds are just dreadful and wrong! Lol. And wow! a new car!! Bet that’s cool!
Yay for new reads too! Lots of new to me ones here except for Kill the Farm Boy! I read that one and quite enjoyed it! Very funny kind of read! Hope you enjoy all your new lovelies!

I’m sorry you haven’t been well. I hope you get better soon. Coughing at night is so annoying. I have that often from allergies. We’re in the process of downsizing and it’s no fun at all, but we need to do it. Hope you have a great week!
Ailyn Koay
there’s Christmas in July here, sounds like you got a nice ride
Jolene Wilson
I have seen Baby Teeth around a lot this weekend on different blogs. Looking forward to your review. Thanks for the heads up on the KU deal. Have a great week and enjoy your new car. It sounds nice.
RO
I can’t believe how quickly the year is passing either, Kimberly! So sorry you weren’t feeling well, particularly in this heat, and hope you continue to get better. Kudos on that new ride! Sounds like a great reason for a road trip for you and Mr. Caffeinated once you feel better. My son is 35, but I remember when he left home at 18, and moved to another state, Ugh…not fun at all for me(lol), but I adapted eventually. Hang in there and hugs…RO

Feel better soon, drink lots of fluids, and enjoy the new reads!

Congrats on the new car! I am glad to hear you are doing a little better now, hopefully soon it will be completely gone. Our son is making big plans to move when he turns 18, we’ll see. lol… Enjoy the new books and the rest of your Sunday. đ

Hi Jenea,
I tried getting onto your site via your link below – but Mozilla Firefox blocked it with a message that your site is improperly configured… whatever that means! Just thought you should know as there is clearly some techie glitch:)

there is a problem with my hosting package that also does my privacy protection. Can’t call them till 9 EST to get it fixed. I’m so sorry.

I want to start the Mercy Kilpatrick series! I believe I also have the first book on my kindle, I just need to get started on it.
I’m glad you are starting to feel better đ
Sam@WLABB
Glad to hear you are on the mend! I hope the cough clears up soon. Congratulations on the new Jeep too. Fight or Flight looks really fun. Can’t wait to see what you think.
Rachel
Sorry your cough hasn’t cleared uo. That sounds worse than my pneumonia, since at least that went away with antibiotics. Still with the fatigue, but I can lie down without my lungs filling up now.
I hope it clears faster!

Hope you feel better soon!

I feel just like you with July already halfway over. It’s going too fast! Congrats on being empty nesters and getting a new car! I hope both go well, and that you keep well for a while now.
Anne @ The Reading Life
I totally agree summer is going way too fast for my liking. Maybe next time you can post a picture of your jeep? I’ll love to see it. I really need to get better on my ARC game. I’m literally not reading any of them. Have a great week!

Congrats on the Jeep! And yeah aren’t dealerships fun? *rolls eyes* Sorry to hear about the bronchitis though, hope you’re feeling better and having a snug, relaxing weekend.

I hope your cough clears and you start to feel better soon! I’m really looking forward to your reviews on Baby Teeth and Kill the Farm Boy. I haven’t read the latter yet, but I’m intrigued by the comparisons to Princess Bride.

Enjoy empty nesting! Hopefully youâre feeling better and a few days of Royal free rest is getting you back on your feet. I donât enjoy car shopping so even when healthy I need a serious nap after! You got some great books! So curious about the Heather Graham. I havenât read any Krewe books yet and Iâm starting to miss them! Have a great week!

Ohhh, I cannot wait to see your thoughts on Kill the Farm Boy! I haven’t read any reviews for it yet, but it sounds so interesting, and very unlike what I’ve been reading lately.
