This summer, romance blooms again in Wildstone!

After a difficult few years, Tilly Adams is ready for life to start going right. Though she has a case of first day nerves teaching art at the local community college, she knows it isn’t anything a few snuggles from her rescue puppy won’t cure. Until she sees Dylan Scott again, her one time bff and first love sitting in the front row.

Dylan knows he should’ve left well enough alone, but when he sees Tilly living her dream, he can’t help but make contact. Ten years ago, he left Wildstone and everything in it behind, including Tilly. He had his reasons, but now he wants her back in his life, anyway he can get her.

When Tilly agrees to design the logo for Dylan’s new helicopter touring company, it’s business only…until she finds herself falling into his arms once again. Can she possibly open her heart back up to the only man who’s ever broken it? But soon they’re both realizing the truth -- love always deserves a second chance.

Novella ROMANCE Small-town Sweet

The Good Luck Sister by Jill Shalvis shared the second chance romance of Tily and Dylan after being apart for ten years. A mischevious pup, new beginnings, and updates from the previous character made this sweet romance a fun read.

For those who loved Lost and Found Sisters, the first Wildstone story, there was a side thread involve teenagers Tilly Adams, Quinn’s unknown sister, and Dylan Scott her troubled best friend. Many readers wanted to know what happened to these two as the thread was touching, filled with domestic violence. It seemed the odds were stacked against them but everyone wanted them to find their happily ever after.

Ten years have passed, and Shalvis shares the story giving us both the past and the present updating us along the way. This was a touching, sweet story as Tilly begins her first day of teaching and discovers Dylan sitting in the front of the class. Since this was a short novel the romance in the present moves pretty fast once we get past the initial issues with Dylan having left town without saying goodbye. Shalvis took the time to explain and shared his history.

Shalvis brings a little heat, but it is mostly fade to black. Instead, the story focuses more on healing a love that has never really faded.

We get updates on Quinn and Mack that made me smile and laugh. I devoured The Good Luck Sister,  in a single sitting and while I wish it had been longer between Tilly’s little dog Leo and getting their story, I was left smiling as only Shalvis can do.

I really enjoyed this one. I would’ve been ok with the couple getting a full-length novel.

  2. Lorna

I’ve only read part of one of her books. I had to put it down due to ARCs and now I can’t find it. Behind simething, I am sure. Anyhow, this sounds sweet and a good one when you need something quick. Glad you enjoyed it.

I’m not familiar with the series but I do enjoy a good second chance romance and that it has a puppy in it is such a bonus 🙂 This one just screams summer/beach read to me for some reason, so I’ll have to keep it in mind for then.

I have this queued up on my Kindle right now! 🙂

Same, but I think once you read book one, you’ll appreciate this little side story.

That first book was pretty good. I like it when an animal is involved.
Yes, prewash is a must; I was explaining to the husband Sunday why it was. I washed my llamas flannel today. I hope to get a start on my pajama pants once the neighbors get picked up.

Once I realized who this novella was about I’ve been so excited about it! I do kind of wish Tilly would have gotten her own full length novel as I loved her in the first book but that’s a frequent problem I have with Shalvis books. I love all her characters and just want more about them!

Lost and Found Sisters was my first Shalvis book, and I ended up really enjoying it! Mick was perfection, and I enjoyed watching Quinn find happiness in Wildstone. I always wondered what happened to Dylan after all he and his mom went through with his father. I guess now I get to find out! It’s insane that it’s 10 years later, though. The past and present aspects should help with that! I always love how they build toward something. <3

Ah, neat that an interesting side story got to be fleshed out. And yay, looks like your switchover went well- at least from what I can tell. 🙂

I am pleased so far. It is weird not having alarms going off and having to tweak Wordfence. They were hammering me. Thanks, Sophia.
