Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Caffeinated made the move successfully on Monday morning tour our new host and so far the digs have been outstanding. No more alarms, hackers, and tweaking. We did have a little snafu though. In the process of moving my files from one host to the other thousands of replies were sent to EVERYONE as the comments files were uploaded to the new host. It took a little while until it was noticed. So if you comment regularly your Inbox was filled with replies from me dating back to 2011! I had thousands of them. It was a fun trip down memory lane. Anyhoo, I apologize and appreciate the good-natured chuckles from those of you who replied to my updates on Twitter and Facebook.  If you notice any issues with my site, load problems etc please alert me via Twitter, Email or Facebook. It’s finally May and I am hoping for improved reading. For April I read and listened to 18 books. This was a low for me but I am still 13 books ahead for the year.  Stay Caffeinated!

Glad the move went well! Ah I did wonder about the replies I got through, thanks for clarifying! 🙂

  2. Bookworm Brandee

Happy your move went relatively smoothly. I figured something was up when I got all those comments. 🙂 Can I just say that I’m in awe of how many books you can read in a month? And 18 is low for you?!? I have trouble hitting 10 most months. LOL Anyway, I hope you’re having a great week. Warm weather? It is here. I went for a hike today. Of course, it’s supposed to snow on Mother’s Day. 😉

    • Kimberly

No more We have had snow as late as May 9th here, but our weather is finally warm and everything is green. Yes, when Ashley moved my comments over she forgot to turn something off and thousands went out before she realized. I managed about 250-275 a year. It used to be more in the years right before I began watching the Royals 40 hours a week. I will say that I watch very little TV and can devour a book in a single evening or two at the most. Thank you for all the wonderful comment love!

Happy Sunday, now monday. Lots to read here as usual. You are a prolific reader, reviewer and I always wish I could read every single one of your book reviews. 😛 I will be reading the procratiblogger article as that describes me currently.

glad to see your move was smooth Kim, would have hated to lose you as a blogger <3

  5. Tizzy Brown

Glad the move went well despite the little comment notification issue. And well done on reading so many books, I am in awe!

  6. Tyler H. Jolley

Lol, I wondered why I was getting some super old replies. Haha, it was fun to see old comments for sure. Glad the rest of the move went according to plan. Have a great week, Kimba!

  7. Olivia

Congrats on moving to the new host, hope despite the millions of comments that must have accumulated over the years, it went without a hitch and you had a great weekend.

  8. Daniela Ark

oh wow I’m so relieved to hear that you made the move successfully fun trip down memory lane and all included XD! .

  9. Aj @ Read All The Things!

I got a bunch of replies from you. I figured that something was happening with the site. Congrats on finishing 18 books last month! I wish I could do that. Have a great week!

  10. MarthaE

I did have a chuckle at some of the comments. Glad to know the blog site move went well. 18 books for April was still good. I only finished 13. But I am 5 ahead on the Goodreads goal.
I hope you are enjoying your reading now.

  11. shooting

I started getting tons of emails and I wasn’t sure why until I saw your Tweet. LOL It’s all good though. 🙂 I’m glad the move went well and so far so good.

  12. Lynn

Happy to hear the move went well! Also, Witch Slapped is such a great title! I hope you’ll enjoy it! Have a wonderful week and happy reading!

  13. Cricket

Glad the move went well. I noticed the replies but didn’t think anything of it but now I know why. 🙂 Witch Slapped looks like a fun read. Hope you enjoy and have a great week!

It’s good you got it all straightened out. What a hassle for you though! Hope you like this host better. Hope you have a nice quiet week!

  15. Angela @ Angel's Guilty Pleasures

Ya for the smooth transition! I got indicted with replays, but oh well I new it was move day and things happen ^_^. I hope you enjoy your book haul. I need to grab Witch Slapped. I’m enjoying the Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery series.

  16. Stefanie

Yay for a smooth transition! No wonder, I remember getting a reply to a comment and there was like over 10. No worries. The title, Witchslapped, made me LOL. I like the looks of that Cooper book. I’m a sucker for a story that has either a pet with personality in it or a fun, real life portrayal of kids.

  17. blodeuedd

Omg thousands for you! the job of deleting must have been insane!

OH and those darn boxes are still around, only your blog, so weird!

    • Kimberly

Can you tell me what device and operating system you are viewing my site on? Do the boxes move or are they sitting on certain things like images?

Actually, Gmail nested them all together so it was easy to delete once I knew what they were.

  18. Stephanie Jane

Thank goodness you got that move done (almost) completely successfully. That must be such a relief?
I hadn’t noticed any particular slowness here before, but CR does seem very zippy today!

Haha, yeah, I got all the comments emailed to me, but I already knew you were moving that day so figured it had to do with that.

Great that you’re still ahead on your reading with all the distractions and real life stuff you’ve had going on.
    Enjoy your latest haul.

    Have a great week, Kimberly!

  20. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

I’m glad you were able to move to the new host without any major snafus, and that things seem to be going better. Yes, I got the slew of reply emails. Since the first one I opened was from 2013, I quickly figured it out and started to laugh. As you say, it was a fun trip down memory lane.

I need to check out your review of When He Was Wicked. I love Julia Quinn, especially the Bridgerton series.

    Have a great week!

  21. Literary Feline

I am glad the change to the new host went well! I read the Good Luck Sister recently, and enjoyed it. I need to get to the second book in Charish’s series. The first one was fun. 🙂 I hope you have a great week, Kim!

    • Kimberly

Thank you. I enjoy Charish as well. I am excited we will get a new Voodoo Killings book too.

  22. Danielle Nolan

Everything looks as expected and loads with incredible ease! So pleased that outside of the comment hangup, it went well <3 Have a wonderful week ahead!

    • Kimberly

Thank you, Danielle I appreciate the feedback. Are you the one who asked me about who I moved too? I went with BookHost (Nose Graze) since I use every dang plugin she has.

      • Danielle

I may have asked! I was contemplating self-hosting. But I think premium WP is ideal for me at this point. Thanks for the info though!

  23. vvb

Glad to hear the blog migration went well. Hope this week goes well. Enjoy your latest books.

    • Kimberly

Thank you. I have two reviews to write and then I am going to take an iced coffee outside and read.

  24. Melissa (My words and pages)

Glad you got the move over well. And something always seems to happen, glad everyone was good about it. 🙂

    Take care!

  25. Samantha

Glad everything got moved okay! I got lots of emails about the comments and had a nice laugh about it! If anything was to go wrong, I’m glad it was that-emails are nothing in the grand scheme of things!

  26. Kristin @ AddictedtoHEA

I’m so stinkin’ happy that everything went perfect for the move. I personally think the comment snafu was “nothing” in the scope of how HUGE your blog was to move. I’m actually re-thinking checking out your new host for next year for my blog 🙂 We’ll see how you do first 😉 Here’s to more free time *clink*

    • Kimberly

You know, I think everyone should do regular self-hosting first to learn things and then move to managed. It is really stressfree living. LOL

  27. Stormi Johnson

I got a lot of those comments and figured it was because you were changing host, so glad it all worked out!!! 🙂

    Have a great week!!

  28. Lola

Glad to hear your move went smoothly besides the small snafu. I have to admit I was a bit surprised to see a bunch of replies to older comments in my inbox. But figured something went wrong and deleted them. Sounds like a good amount of books you read in a month! Have a great week!

  29. Jessica @ a GREAT read

I did notice some comment replies in my inbox this week! I couldn’t remember if you had said you were behind in your blogging routine (as I hear that occasionally from other bloggers) and just thought you were getting caught up! Wasn’t even really noticing what date those comments came from! Lol! Glad you got things moved over and things are running smoothly!

Nice new reads too! Totally new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  30. Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra

I’m so glad to hear the move went smoothly and hope that it solves all of your problems. I did see a bunch of comment notifications and figured it was probably related to your server move, so no worries 🙂

Hope you have a wonderful week!

  31. sjhigbee

I’m delighted the move went so well and I hope your ongoing issues will now be sorted out. Have a great week, Kimberly – I hope the weather has now improved:)

  32. Melliane

Oh I didn’t realize that The Girl in the Green Silk Gown was there. I’ll take a look to buy it. thank you. happy reading!

  33. Olivia Roach

Ah, so that was why I got those comment replies. I saw them all come in and I thought it might be something to do with a chance. But I am glad the new host you are with is working out better for you and your blog!

Thank you for sharing my post as well <3 I appreciate it!

So that’s where all those replies came from. LOL Glad the move was otherwise so successful! Hooray for still being ahead on your GR goal even with a slightly slower reading month. That’s awesome. Great random this week. Hope you have a wonderful week, Kim!

Yes. Apparently you have to shut off mail before importing new comments and replies 🙁

  35. A Voracious Reader

I’m glad the move was successful and the new host is awesome. It was fun reading the comments! 🙂 I hope you have a fantastic week, Kim!

  36. Jenea’s Book Obsession

I’m so glad you got the site moved all right. 😁 Man, I love the cover on The Girl in the Green Silk Gown, need to check out the series. Hope you enjoy your Sunday!

  37. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews

Congrats on successfully moving hosts, Kim. I did get a lot of e-mails from you, and it was actually a very nice way to spend my short breaks on Monday 😀
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • Kimberly

It was hilarious when I woke up to them. Question… Did the Enter your URL Here to share a recent post pop up for you when you commented?

  38. JJ @ This Dark Material

Congratulations on the successful move! Everything looks more or less the same to me, which I suppose is good news 🙂 18 books is more than I think I could ever manage in a month. I can’t fathom that being on the low end of my pace! Best of luck with squeezing in a few more titles this May 🙂

Nope, I kept the same theme. What I do hope is different is that you can access the site quickly and easily.

  39. Rachel

Switching things up can be stressful. I did get replies from a while back but didn’t think much about it. 🙂

  40. Michelle Gilmore

Those emails were kind of funny, and it’s not a big deal. Plus I liked seeing some of the books I had interest in all those years ago. I’m glad everything went over smoothly!

    • Kimberly

Yes, I needed a host with server-side protection. My premium Wordfence was working overtime and for reasons unknown, I was a target of hackers, spammers, and bad bots. I spent hours every week tweaking and blocking IPs

  41. Greg

Hey Kimba! Glad the move went well, although that is kinda funny about the replies! 🙂 Always something, right? Ha ha hope you’re having a nice weekend. 🙂
