Howdy folks! Our weather has been everywhere this week from snow flurries to breaking out the shorts. I did manage to read a little this week but need my reading mojo back. We spent Saturday moving my son from the smallest bedroom to largest (aside from the Master). It was a nightmare. He saves everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING. We will be converting his old bedroom into an office for my husband since his desk was in the guest bedroom. My muscles hurt and the trashmen are going to hate me come Monday morning.  Meanwhile, I am listening to ocean sounds and imagining I am at the beach. Somebody hand me a Long Island Iced Tea.  I hope you saw spring this week! Have a good one and Stay Caffeinated!

Oh, I hope Spring will finally come there too. We had sunny days for the past couple of weeks and it was great.

I want to read any of John Scalzi’s books, and hopefully soon.

  2. Tyler H. Jolley

Last week’s weather was crazy. We also had warm and cold, but the worst part was the wind. Naturally, it happened on trash day so everyone’s cans blew over and garbage was everywhere. It was sad. Hope you get your reading mojo back, Kimba!

  3. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

I have a kid who saves everything too and the last time we moved I about lost my mind! Luckily she’s out of the house now so moving her stuff is now her own problem! A Long Island Ice Tea sounds fantastic really at any point! I really need to read more Sarah MacLean. I read the first in another series and absolutely loved it but I haven’t done well with keeping up with her books. Hope you’re having a great week!

  4. RO

One Long Island Tea coming your way Kool Kimberly! I can totally relate. I tend to collect lots of things, then I look around and want to get rid of it all to declutter. Still, I sort of wish I could have checked out the things you threw out to see what treasures I may have found.(lol) Glad you got it all done though, and hope you can relax and get in some reading this week. Hugs…RO

  5. Carole @ Carole's Random Life in Books

This weather is driving me nuts. I want to hang my coat up for good! I think we are starting to see some progress with temps so that is good. My daughter is one that keeps everything so I do sympathize with you. I don’t even want to think about getting my daughter’s room moved. Have a great week!

  6. Daniela Ark

I hope you get your reading mojo back soon Kim! Not that anyone ever noticed it was gone 🙂
And I hope Mr. Caffeinated enjoys his new office!

  7. Steph

Oh beach sounds are a great idea. This weekend was finally nice enough to call ‘spring’ hopefully it will stay warm now.

  8. ShootingStarsMag

Hah! Love the RIP Spring photo. So so true. It was such crazy weather last week, but with a few nice days. It’s raining today, so we’ll see how the rest of the week goes. Hope you get more reading in!

  9. Jasprit

Sounds like you had a busy day with your son moving rooms, but at least the move is finally done! I’ve barely been able to read this week either, I think I just need something wow to get me out of my funk! But you have some great books to get through, happy reading! 🙂

  10. Tanya @ Rantings of a Reading Addict

That is what happens whenever we move. I end up with more stuff out on the curb than in boxes. I find things I have no idea why I even have them. The weather here in TX has been kind of up and down. I never know when to wear a sweater to work, but our office seems to be catering to the pregnant co-worker and keeping the AC turned down, so the sweater has been necessary once I get into the office!

  11. Berls

Yep, Mother Nature has lost her mind. It’s official. We have seen some nice spring weather, but I’m in Dallas, so this time of year we’re usually touching summer already — so it’s still a bit unusual for us too. I hope you get some spring this week… and some time to just relax with a book!

  12. Stephanie Jane

Long Island Ice Tea is one of my OH’s favourites! It was responsible for a ‘wobbly’ photo of Amsterdam on a misty night which turned out to be a gorgeous pic!

  13. MarthaE

Oh dear – that random image gets a chuckle. I do hope you get more consistent spring soon.
I like the looks of what you’ve been reading. Hope you enjoy your new books too.
    Happy Reading!

  14. Lorna

We have been having warmer weather during the day, but it’s still going into the 30’s at night. I was in a reading funk when it came to paranormal, but that’s over with now. I will still read some of course-my Kindle is full of it-but I am happily reading romances now. Have a great week!

  15. Stefanie

I’m glad you didn’t hurt yourself cleaning out the room. And to clean out a room in a day? Good job! How productive you are. I’m excited to hear how you’re going to decorate the room for your husband. Your son is lucky he doesn’t have to stay in the smallest room in the house.

  16. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

That’s some seriously crazy spring weather. Ours hasn’t been nearly as extreme. At first I thought you meant moving house and I practically groaned for you. But it sounds like moving rooms was almost as bad with as much as your son saves. LOL Hope your reading mojo is back in full force this week!

  17. Aj @ Read All The Things!

I remember moving all of my books and bookshelves from one room to another. It sucked, and my body hurt for days. I hope you get your Long Island Iced Tea! Have a great week.

  18. Wendy @ Falconer's Library

I can’t imagine cleaning out my son’s room. Ugh. It’s going to be a nightmare. Good for you for getting it done!

    The Sclazi looks interesting.

The library computer I’m using is denying me access to the linkup, so I’ll just leave my post here and come back later to visit others’.

  19. Lola

We had some pretty warm weather this week out of nowhere. I hope you get your reading mojo back soon! Moving is no fun, but I hope your son is happy with the bigger room. Have a great week!

  20. Sophia Rose

Oh yes, that sort of clearing out is tough on the lower back and limbs. I get twitchy just thinking about it after doing that sort of work in all the rooms of my nonna’s home last fall. But yeah, son has nice room and hubby an office now. 🙂
Spring is being weird, here, too. Snow, ice, sun, and repeat, but yeah for less of the two former for more days of sun. 🙂

Oh, nice haul. I’ve got the Digging In one for soonish and the John Scalzi looks good, but I need to read book one.

    Enjoy your week, Kimberly!

  21. sherry fundin

Spring has surely arrived here in the south and I am lovin’ it. My blogging is suffering because of it, but what can I say…gotta shed that cabin fever, though down here I never really have it. What I shed is sweats….

  22. Chrissy

We saw a little bit of spring, but also more winter. I’m about done with the crazy weather.

    Have a great week!

  23. vvb

Once things are settled it should be really nice. Have a good week and happy reading.

  24. Danielle

Sorry about the muscle pain <3 I am hoping it is a temporary setback due to the moving? But I can relate to a son who likes to save things. Fortunately, mine has developed this odd (wonderful) habit of wanting to donate about every 4 months and will clean out half of his room to do so. Hang in there, do not give up on Spring yet!

  25. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

At least that move is behind you — hope your muscles feel better soon! Your RIP Spring graphic made me laugh. Have a wonderful week and may spring hang around longer this week!

  26. Kristin (Book Sniffers Anonymous)

I hate moving. When we moved to our latest house, we I wound up getting rid of a ton of stuff. I hit a point where I just got sick of packing and instead started throwing stuff in the car to take to the local food kitchen/thrift store. I was so tired and sore by the time we were settled into the new place.
I hope next week is more calm for you and you get some good reading in. 🙂

  27. Sophie

Well you can always try to bribe the trashmen I think 😉 Now moving and renovating can be exhausting! I hope next week will be less busy and that you’ll enjoy reading and blogging in peace 😉 happy Sunday!

  28. Trisha

I am having the same lack of Spring problems here. It’s like Winter and Spring are dueling it out.

  29. Vi @Inkvotary

Seems like this time of year is the perfect time to rearrange things. I am doing the same here. Didn´t realize that I had that much old stuff in the house. Happy reading and have a great new week.

    Best wishes

  30. Laura @ Library of Clean Reads

Some people are more sentimental than others and have a hard time letting go of stuff. Decluttering and purging can be learned though. Every once in a while I go through my kids’ stuff with them as we do a cleanup and we go through all their stuff and eventually they learn to let go of stuff and move on as they grow.

I’m curious about Scalzi’s book. Enjoy your new books!

  31. S. J. Pajonas

I’m totally afraid we will skip spring entirely and go straight to summer. Not to say that I hate summer. I LOVE SUMMER. It’s my favorite season! But I do love spring and the flowers and the rain and all the wonderful things about spring. We have a cherry tree in our front yard that STILL hasn’t bloomed. It’s almost the end of April! That’s crazy. Hope you have a good week!

  32. kindlemom1

We have had the same think going on, in the span of a day no less. It will be cold and snow flurries and then the sun will come out and it’s in the 60’s. It’s so hard to dress my kids! I am loving the sunshine though and hope we get more of the milder weather before it hits the 90’s and 100’s.
We were busy spring cleaning all yesterday as well and while I love cleaning, it is a lot of work and I can tell I’m a bit sore today because of it but I love how the house looks when it’s all done so it’s worth it!

  33. Melissa (My words and pages)

At least the sun is shining here. I’m hoping we get warmer each day. I’m ready for nice weather. Hope you have a good week and find your reading mojo again.

  34. Yvonne

Very weird weather here too. I’m in the process of clearing out our basement so I understand the nightmare of going through all that stuff. We saved everything too. Your books look like good ones. Enjoy and have a great week!

  35. Nick

LOL at your son being a hoarder! The weather has just been so finicky. I want it to be one thing already! Glad you had a good week, Kim! Hope that reading mojo comes right back!

  36. Mandy

Sounds like we have the same kind of weather. Some days it’s freezing and others are have been wearing shorts. I’ve been forcing the shorts a little too much because I’ve had a few days of freezing but I’m not 100% ready for the summer heat just yet. I want a few more rainy days. I’ve been in a reading funk the last few months it’s been rough so I know what you are going through. Hopefully, you’ll be able to find a way back to your reading mojo. Hopefully, you will have a chance to relax while not at the beach but at home now that you’ve moved everyone around. Have a great week. Thanks for hosting!!!!

  37. Cyn @ Bookmunchies

The weather here has been a bit of a whirlwind too! But I think spring is here to stay?? *knock on wood.
I’m excited for new Sarah McLean! Hope you enjoy your new books, habe a lovely week!

  38. Darlene

Ooooooh, a new Frater book!! It feels like Spring here now. It’s going up to 19 today, and that will feel like summer 🙂 Have a good week!

  39. Laura Thomas

My son saves everything too. I think he gets that from me. LOL Although, now that I’m not a spring chicken anymore, I do tend to clean out the nest once or twice a year. Have a fabulous day, Kimberly!

  40. Natalie @Natflix&Books

Moving is the worssssst, even when it’s just a room. The weather was very similar here this week. It snowed a couple of days ago and yesterday it was nice enough to sit outside and grill up dinner. Happy reading!

  41. Suzanne @ The Bookish Libra

Ugh, I hate moving of any kind, even just room to room, so I feel your pain. The only good thing that comes from it in our house is that it does provide that occasional opportunity to sort through our crap and purge what we really never should have kept in the first place, lol.

Our weather finally seems to be stabilizing, although the nights are still really chilly. Hopefully spring will settle in for you as well. I did LOL at your random this week though. It certainly felt like Spring came and went after a day!

  42. Jolene

Yay for spring! I have big plans to go through every room this summer and clean stuff out and organize. I usually have some tunes playing while I don this. Enjoy all your books.

  43. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Yeah moving isn’t fun! Even room to room! I’ve reogranized and had to move my books several times now (and the reorganizations came from having to move the bookshelf first). So yeah, I understand the feeling of hating it! Lol!

Nice new reads! Totally new to me ones, though I am seeing a few of these around today! Hope you enjoy them all!

    my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  44. Samantha

Ugh moving! Its the worst. You manage to hurt muscles you didn’t even know you had! Its awful! But, at least its over now. Hopefully the weather evens out a bit and you can enjoy next week!

  45. Jenea’s Book Onsession

Your weather is definitely crazy! My daughter is a pack rat, she keeps every paper she has done for school among so many other things she just won’t throw away. Hope you have a great week.

  46. A Voracious Reader

Yikes! You reminded me I need to go through my boys room. I don’t wanna. And don’t get me started on my daughter’s room. She has been “cleaning” it for over a year. *rolls eyes* She says she’ll get to it after she graduates with her AS next month. We’ll see. I hope Spring finally stops peeking around the corner and stays awhile for you. I think we just may be there here in NC. Have a great week, Kim!

  47. sjhigbee

Urg! Those temperature swings sound horrible – how do the birds and insects cope? We have had a handful of glorious days, but this is England so inevitably there will come a time when it reverts to gloom and drizzle – but right now, everything looks fabulous… I hope the weather is better this coming week, Kimberly!

  48. Vee Ramage

I can’t work out what the weather is doing down here in Somerset. We had two days of scorching heat so planned to go to the seaside yesterday – cue torrential rain yesterday afternoon. Looked dull when we peered out of our curtains at 7am so we decided to sleep in – and now it looks bright and sunny!

  49. Emma

Our weather seems to have turned a corner this week, we’ve had glorious weather. Long may it continue.

  50. Evelina

I heard that spring is being very weird there! The weather’s been cool here too, but at least no snow – I’d be super disappointed xD have a great week!

  51. Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books

We saw spring! We had the hottest April day in something like 10 years this week. It was glorious… But now the fear is that we’ve had our spring AND summer rolled into one and it’s all downhill from here! lol

    Have a great week!

  52. Rachel

I loved Survive the Night, it was crazy! Hope you get some beautiful Spring weather coming your way! 🙂

  53. Sam@WLABB

Moving is the worst! I am trying to mentally prepare for packing my daughter up at NC State, bringing her back to NJ, and then 3 1/2 weeks later, packing up EVERYTHING and moving her out to Chicago. I am absolutely dreading it all.

  54. Jackie Briere

Ya, the weather has been up and down here too. On Monday it was snowing balls then the next day it was like it never happened. Wierd.

  55. Michelle Gilmore

I can understand saving everything, I used to. But I’ve had to move it, and that killed any desire to continue doing so. It sucks beyond all belief. I’m ready for true spring here. We keep alternating like where you are, but it will occasionally throw in the sweltering 80 degree day with summer humidity just to shake things up. Here’s to you relaxing your muscles and kicking your feet up this week!

  56. Dani @ Perspective of a Writer

Soooo many audibook reviews! I LOVE it! And Seanan McGuire! What a pairing… And thank goodness you didn’t have to move your son to college quite yet, imagine how that would have gone…

  57. Maree

I hate moving, but there’ s nothing like moving – even rooms – to have a clean out. Have a great week 🙂

  58. Cricket

There were some chilly days but we had some Springy moments. I want to go to the beach so bad. I need to relax. Have a great week and hopefully the weather will get better.

  59. Greg

The weather’s been wacky everywhere seems like- except for those folks in the tropics where it seems to always be nice ha ha. Well mostly always. anyway. But yeah we finally got some sun and better temps this week, so I’ll take it! Hope spring is here to stay in your neck of the woods too!

Sounds like you’ve been busy! Yay for the office. Ocean sounds… I love listening to ambient music or nature sounds like that. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  60. Laurel-Rain Snow

Enjoy your week, and I am eager to get my hands on The Family Gathering.

Moving furniture is definitely back-breaking work. Hope you get to relax for a bit now.

  61. Kristen @ Metaphors and Moonlight

I can relate to your son. I save everything too, haha. And I also have had to go through a lot of stuff recently and throw out a bunch, including some stuff I have no idea why I would ever save it, like old schoolwork??? Hope you get some warm weather soon!

  62. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews

Saving everything does not sound like the best plan, Kim. I’m sure it will take a little while for your muscles to get back to normal.
I’m glad you’ve been able to read some books, even if your reading mojo is not 100%.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
