Oh, my am I tired. Have you ever had a week where nothing goes right? You can’t sleep, your dead tired and tension headaches follow you everywhere? That was my week.  It began with website issues last weekend that slowly escalated. Everything was rolling along fine and then boom I was having server-side capacity issues. I didn’t dare comment last weekend as loading times and usage were sending off warnings. Plugin testing, SQL Optimizing and scrutinizing my Database resolved the issue but it took four days of behind the scenes grunt work and Googling. On the bright side, our weather during the week was spring-like. Mr. Caffeinated took the day off on Friday and we took the Royals to the Zoo. Of course this weekend it feels like we moved to a completely different state. Lows in the twenties, snow, wintry mix, and winds. I was so tired this week I only finished one book and I am working on an audio. *lifts coffee mug* Here’s hoping this week is fabulous!  Stay Caffeinated!

Oh no sorry to hear about the website issues! That can be frustrating and time consuming, no doubt. And we’re having the same weather here at the moment- wintr storm warning, winds. Ugh. No spring for us yet!

Hope Smoke & Iron is good! And Half Off Ragnarok- gotta check your review on that. 🙂

Her library series is one of my favorites. It was the highlight of my week getting that surprise package in the mail. I hope you try them.

How to Optimize your SQL Database (server side), Known issues with WordPress and PHP 7 etc. The biggest advice I can give is to only use plugins that are maintained, keep them and WP updated. Make sure you do daily or at minimum weekly backups. I’ve been doing this for 7 years so you get better as you go.

We are having spring weather finally…though it’s verging on summer some days. It has been a long week…I hope all of the website issues have been resolved and that you get some much needed down time.

So sorry to hear about the website problems! Hunting through Google and code is never fun. Happy to hear you enjoyed some lovely weather though 🙂 Here’s hoping winter gives way to spring soon!

Argh sounds like the week from hell. And when reading falls victim to everyday problems I get really cranky. I’m sorry that you had so many troubles. Here’s to a better week and spring will return!

PS. I loved your review for Guardian’s Bond. I think it was a strong start to the series.

Your weather sounds a bit like mine. The beginning and middle of the week were spring-like and now we are getting upwards of a foot of snow, blowing all around. Like Winter threw a temper tantrum, slammed the door, and came back “and another thing!” (That was how it was described to me lol). And website issues are the worst! Glad to hear you got it working again.

Thanks, Megan. A foot of snow! Oh lordy. We got a few inches and its fa-fa-freezing. I think the website issues have been fixed since either as no one has complained about issues linking up or commenting. *lifts coffee mug* Here’s to warmer weather soon!

  6. Cricket

I’ve been really tired this week and had trouble sleeping but still had to figure out how to function. That didn’t happen. Sorry about the website issues because I know that can be a pain. Hope you have a great week!

Ahmen to that Cahleen. I did, in fact, make extra coffee all week to get me through. Hope the week ahead is good for you.

  7. Natalie @Natflix&Books

That sounds horrible! I’m minimally savvy when it comes to the tech side of blogging. Glad it got resolved! It is gorgeous here this weekend, but it’s supposed to drop back down to the 30s this week. Happy reading!

Yeah, it is winter out there today, and sadly the warmest day forecasted for the next 7 days is only 59. But I will take it. I learn more every day thanks to blogging.

  8. Jenea’s Book Onsession

Ugh! The website issues sound just awful. I’m glad you were able to get it all situated though. The trip to the Zoo with the Royals sounds like a lot of fun, I bet they enjoyed it a lot too. I would say you keep your snow, but we have snow coming tomorrow, after such a pretty week here. Happy Sunday.

8 had some website issues too this week. It is really frustrating. I am sorry to hear that your week was bad. Hopefully this week will be much better.

  10. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

Oh my gosh, Kim, what a week. I was about to say “at least the weather is better” but then I saw how your cold temps are back. Ugh! Surely you’re due a week that is smooth sailing. I hope you that just that this week.

Haha..yes I am due. The wind is howling right now and I am thankful to be inside chatting with you all, coffee in hand.

  11. Lola

That sounds like a bad week. I hate those weeks where nothing seems to go right and headaches are the worst. It can be tough to fix website issues, especially when you aren’t sure what’s causing them. Glad to hear you managed to figure it out, even tough it took so long. I hope next week is a better one for you!

  12. Chloe

Hope this week is better for you! Tension headaches are awful, whenever I get stressed I tend to get migraine symptoms which is never fun when you start having blurry vision. And at leas you still finished a book 🙂

I am grateful for finishing one. I was just so tired by the time my day ended. Migraines are nasty. Let’s hope we all have an awesome, stress-free week!

    • Kimberly

It is crazy. It is so hard to make the little ones understand when we cannot go out. One day we play outside and the next it is fa-fa- freezing.

    • Kimberly

LOL. Yeah Google, talking to host etc and muddling your way through. I will say my knowledge base continues to grow.

  13. Yvonne

I’m sorry to hear about your week. I hope you’re feeling better and that your website issues are taken care of. We had one beautiful day of 70 degree weather yesterday and today it dropped to the 40’s with a lot of rain. It’s cold and windy out there. I’m so ready for summer. Hope this week is better for you.

    • Kimberly

Yep, my host cleared up an issue well at least directed me that wasn’t directly related to this but did solve another mystery. LOL Even though I hate issues, I do like that each time I learn new skills. For instance, did you know that GASP messes with Askmit? For years some folks always end up in my spam folder. As soon as I deleted GASP my spam went down and peeps who should be approved are. Who knew?!?

  14. Nick

Oh no! Sorry about all the website issues, Kim! It sounds like it was very frustrating but glad you got it all resolved. The day at the zoo sounds lovely. I’m glad you had a good time.
Also, I saw you guys had more snow coming your way! Keep warm!!
I hope this week is better for you, Kim!

    • Kimberly

Yeah, it is cold and mizzy here. The week ahead looks like we will only see one semi-warm day with a high of 56. UGH.

  15. Whitney

I’m with you on the weather, it has been crazy the past week. Friday it is sunny and beautiful and Saturday brings freezing rain. Website issues stink, and they are so time consuming. I hope you have everything worked out. Have a good week Kim!

  16. Berls

Ugh I’m sorry, that does not sound like a fun week 🙁 I think not having to really worry about website/server issues is my favorite thing about blogging with Michelle lol! I mean if something really bad happened I’d help – but since it’s all hers, there’s very little I CAN do.

The zoo at least sounds like fun – though again, tiring! We’re taking the kids to the zoo for our field trip in May and I’m both excited and dreading it. LOL!

Hope you have a better week!

    • Kimberly

That does take the stress off. We have a yearly zoo pass, so we can spend a few hours, get tuckered out and go home. It’s not like when we go for one day and need to try to squeeze in everything. Food was seriously pricey. 4.95 for a medium beverage. Yikes.

  17. Danielle Chapman

Sorry you had such a crazy week with your blog! 🙁
This weekend is chilly for us as well. I woke up to the temps in the 30s this morning! Our normal is the 70s!!

    • Kimberly

Yeah, when I get unusually stressed it creates havoc on my autoimmune and the next thing ya know I am suffering headaches and pain. Thankfully I didn’t get sick.

  18. Kristin (Book Sniffers Anonymous)

Eeesh. Sorry to hear about your week. I try not to touch anything on my site because I always manage to screw something up and have to call tech support to help me dig my way out of the mess. I’m just glad that you were able to fix all the problems and get your site back up and running. 🙂

Oddly enough I was just puttering along and did nothing. It was a few things that had to do with WP updates and a plugin I’ve had forever. Ironically I don’t miss it.

  19. Sophia Rose

Isn’t it amazing how you ‘touched nothing’ and end up with a catastrophe? Hope you got all your blog ugly done for the year with that one.

Yay for the fun day on Friday to make up for the return of winter. We had a Thursday like that. I soaked up the warmth and the sun and now back in the sweat shirts and thick socks. 🙂

    Have a good week, Kimberly!

    • Kimberly

It was fun and it is always lovely to see the Royals get excited about things. They both love the fish and penguins.

  20. Stefanie

I like that gif you posted at the end. I feel like that sometimes. This week my body has been adjusting to working out every day. I am usually sore afterwards and sometimes just veg out here, so tired afterwards. I didn’t get as much done as I would have liked this week but I’m happy I got in some knitting and knocked out a card.
Zoo outing in the 20’s? Holey bagels. The animals are actually still out in that weather?

  21. Angela @ Angel's Guilty Pleasures

Oh my I hope this week is better for you. I’ve not had the internet/computer/website issues, but I’ve had those days/weeks where I’m dead tired and nothing makes it better. I’ve heard some people had some spring weather, but then the snow came back… Ewww. I don’t miss that kind of weather. We’ve had a lot of rain, but also some very nice sunny and high 60’s low 70’s weather. My garden is blooming wonderfully and I really like that about CA. ^_^ Hope you have a wonderful week and happy reading.

I wondered if you were having website issues? I was having a hard time getting the site to load. I suck as web design (obviously) so I just assumed it was my computer. If that happens again in the future, would you like me to shoot you an email, or do you get notified?

  23. Anna

I wonder if there was something in the air because the week sucked for me as well. Looking forward to a better week! Happy reading!

    • Kimberly

It is simply put a pain in the arse. Not so much if you are a light blogger, but the older and heavier your site gets..ugh. It was nice to get away for the afternoon. We have a Zoo pass this year, so we can go for a few hours and really enjoy one or two exhibits. There is no parking so its a cheap trip.

  24. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

I need to stop complaining about it being cold here when the temps get in the 50s! That sounds awful. I do love going to the zoo and hope the Royals had a wonderful time. Sorry you had a rough week last week. I hate those times when it seems like everything is going wrong. I hope this week is going better and that you’re having a nice week!
