Hello Peeps! I cannot believe it is April already. Today we are experiencing a Wintry Mix with temperatures between 24 and 40 degrees. UGH! However, during the week the Royals and I did enjoy a few sunny afternoons. We had an outdoor picnic with bananas and grilled rock. Princess Sophia used the toy grill to whip up a few rock steaks. On Friday we visited the local park and they had such a good time. Nonna, however, needed a long nap after!

For Take Control of Your TBR Pile I managed 13 books and read/listened to 22 books in February. Current Goodreads Challenge Stats: 76/250. We will be celebrating Easter today and will be out most of the day. For those who celebrate Happy Easter. I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Stay Caffeinated!

LOL your little picnic with rock steaks sounds so fun! Sorry about the weather, I really do wish it would make up it’s mind… and decide on SPRING! We’ve had fairly warm weather here, though it does get fairly chilly after the sun goes down (40s… which for the Dallas girl is cold!) Hope you’re having a great week!

  2. Lorna

I’m so behind commenting. I hope you had a great Easter. This weather is crazy. It’s raining today but one day coming up, we will be getting a rain/snow mix. It’s April!

  3. lisa thomson

Happy Easter, Kim! Hope you have a wonderful celebration with your family. I will be checking on your review of “Dreaming in Chocolate” well, because the title. 🙂 Dang, I should not have started Voyager (800 plus pages) as it is interfering with reading other books and meeting my reading goals on goodreads. It really should count as three books, LOL.

  4. Tyler H. Jolley

Happy Easter Kimba, I hope the day was awesome. We had a great day for sure.

  5. MarthaE

Cute bunny cup! I’ll be posting my Take Control wrap post tomorrow but I am happy how well I did!
You got some cute titles this week and a Ruggle which is reliable reading/listening.
Hope you enjoyed your Easter family day.
    Happy Reading!

  6. Barbara Strickland

Happy Easter or as the Italian say Buona Pasqua (my cousins kindly sent greetings from Italy).
The year is going fast but looking forward to hearing what you think about the ever growing new pile of TBR and putting the ARB (already read books) in their beds for later play.

  7. Nise'

Happy Easter. We had a cold one this year! We had a busy weekend with the grandkids and need a day to recover.

  8. Angela @ Angel's Guilty Pleasures

Oh you picked up some nice audiobooks. I hope you enjoy them. I graved book 2 in Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery series while it was on sale for $.99c. I enjoyed the first book and I love a good deal ^_^. Hope you guys are having a wonderful easter and the weather is nice. The wether sure has been wacky for many people. Happy Reading!!

  9. Aj @ Read All The Things!

Congrats on doing so well with the Take Control challenge. I read 12 books for the challenge and DNFed 1. My TBR is still out of control, though. I hope you have a great Easter.

  10. Anna

I’m on vacation right now, but my town got snow today D: hopefully the weather will start behaving itself soon and spring will come.

  11. ShootingStarsMag

Happy Easter!! The weather was nice earlier, but I have heard I’m supposed to get some snow tonight…I don’t think it’s going to accumulate though. But then it’s supposed to rain/storm on Tuesday, so yeah, April is off to a good start. LOL 🙂

  12. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

“Grilled rock” — so cute! And what fun to have an egg hunt for the grands (I saw your Instagram.) Sorry your weather isn’t more springlike; hopefully you’ll get warmer temperatures soon. It got up to 73 here on Friday (or Thursday… the days are running together) but it’s only about 55 right now.

You’re doing great on your Goodreads challenge–well done! I pulled mine up from 7 books behind in early March to only 2 books behind now. It would be better, but I’ve been reading some Kindle 3-in-1 sets and that throws the count off, since GR only counts it as one. I know I could pretend I’m reading the books individually, but I like to keep my GR accurate as far as editions go.

    Happy Easter!

  13. Kimberly

*MISTER LINKY is currently down* The linky should reappear soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  14. Joanne

Happy Easter, all. I’m not seeing the linky thingee so hopefully get the post to show up here; I’m talking movies this week…on the reading front still slowly making my way through A Brief History of Seven Killings and between that and Good Friday re-appreciating the definition of irony. p.s. I agree with you about April….March seems to have been as short as February was long (more irony).

  15. Maureen Bakker

Happy Easter Kimberly! It’s crazy how fast the time goes by right?! Sounds like you had some good days with the grandkids.
Have a great week and happy reading!

  16. Sherrie

Tried to link up, but it wouldn’t work. So I’ve put my link here.
    Have a great day!

  17. Yvonne

Just when it started to look like Spring here, they are saying snow for tomorrow 2-4 inches. Yuck! Enough already!

You did very well with your Take Control of Your TBR Pile. Good for you. Have a great week!

  18. Lily

Happy Easter Kim! Sorry you are getting a Winter Mix 🙁 Our temps are also all over the place, I want it to be over already

  19. Danielle

Grilled rock steaks sounds lovely Hopefully Mother Nature figures it out soon. The constant changes have my headed a mess. Have a beautiful Easter and week ahead.

I am so ready for Spring but snow is in the forecast here. I hope the weatherman was playing an April Fool’s joke. 🙂

    Have a great week!

  21. Daniela Ark

Yes, this Wintry Mix is crazy! It’s like winter never wants to leave! but yeh for when it’s good enough for picnics! I bet those rock steaks were delish 🙂 Happy Easter!

  22. Melissa (My words and pages)

Crazy that it’s April! I can’t believe it either. Oh well. Happy Easter!

  23. Samantha

Happy Easter! Hope the weather improves and you are able to have more picnics with the Royals! They sound adorable!

  24. Laura@Library of Clean Reads

It’s great that you enjoyed time with your grandchildren. we’re experiencing similar weather in this part of the world. Jar of Hearts looks good and I’m going to check out your review of Dreaming in Chocolate. Have a lovely weekend!

  25. A Voracious Reader

Mmmmm…grilled rock steaks are the best especially when you don’ t have to cook them. 😀 I hope the weather improves for you and you can get outside more. Otherwise I may have to send Ma Nature the stink eye. May your week be fantastic, Kim!

  26. Nicci @ Sunny Buzzy Books

Happy Easter! I finished the Take Control challenge on 9 which is a bit disappointing when 4/5 of them were within the first week or so. :/
22 books for Feb is amazing!

  27. Nick

Happy Easter, Kim! I thought for sure that we were out of the wintry weather, but I guess not. It’s so frustrating. I’m ready for some decent weather now! Have a good day with your family!

  28. Vi @Inkvotary

That sounds like you and the Royals had a lot of fun. Wishing you and your family Happy Easter too. Hope you can enjoy the long weekend and have fun during those days as well.

    Best wishes

  29. Ailyn Koay

happy easter! 13 books wow! you must have big black panda eyes with all that reading and no sleeping.

  30. Darlene

Happy Easter! It’s a little chilly here as well, and I’ll have to bundle up to hid the Easter treats in the snow-filled yard.

Those books are all new to me. Twice the Witch sounds like a cute cozy! Have a great week, and congrats on all those books you knocked off your TBR!

  31. Carole @ Carole's Random Life in Books

Happy Easter, Kimberly! Rock steak sounds quite yummy 🙂 I love watching little ones play and pretend so I would have had a great time with a rock steak. We are supposed to have colder weather today as well. I am so ready for all of this cold to just go away. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

  32. Melanie Simmons

I’m glad you guys had a few sunny days. We haven’t had many here. I keep hoping that it will finally warm up, but alas, we have snow in the forecast. I hope you have a great week.

  33. Suzanne

Happy Easter to you and your family! Looks like you’ve got some great new books to read. I look forward to your review of As Bright As Heaven. I haven’t done a wrap up post yet because I’m forever behind but I did manage to read 10 books for the Take Control of Your TBR challenge. Congrats on reading 13!

  34. Ronnie @ Paradise Found

Happy Easter, happy April!! The random bunny coffee looks lovely, I could drink one right now. Yays for outdoor fun, I’m glad you had a good time. Enjoy your new books!

  35. Angela Adams

What does Princess Sophia serve as a side dish with her “rock steaks?” (LOL!). Happy Easter, and enjoy the day with your family!

  36. sjhigbee

Your temperatures sound miserable:(. Despite the weather, I hope you have a lovely Easter Day and another great reading week. The picnic sounds like great fun!

  37. Jessica @ a GREAT read

We’re expecting a cold snap as well! Possible snow. So fun times! We’ve been in the middle of a bout of rain for the past two weeks and moving onto the third for this coming one. I guess we’re getting our April showers in early! At least that’s the hope! Lol!

Nice new reads! All new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  38. Lola

The temperatures are still flip flopping a bit here as well, with some warmer days and then other days a bit colder again. Nice to hear you had some sunny afternoons you could spend outside with the Royals. Happy Easter and have a great week!

  39. RO

Happy Bunny Day! Wow, things sure have changed. I had no idea they sold toy grills these days (lol), and glad you had fun! Hugs…RO

  40. Kristin @ AddictedtoHEA

Happy Easter to you and the family! Are you guys going to brunch? Did the Easter Bunny hide eggs at your house or did you go out to find them? He’s actually still visiting my almost 12 year old although the stinker said he hoped he didn’t get any cheap toys this year *clobber, clobber* What am I going to do with him?? 😀 Have a great day and enjoy it 🙂

  41. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

Wow, your April is certainly off to a chilly start! Congrats on doing so great with the Take Control of Your TBR challenge! Hope you have a great week, Kim.

  42. Sam@WLABB

Your make-pretend picnic made me smile. How sweet. I saw something in the weather report about snow tomorrow, but I am hoping it was mistake, because I got to open the window for the past two days, and that was happiness. Happy Easter!

  43. Tressa @ Wishful Endings

I wish we could share some of our heat and you could share some of your cold! We’ve been in the low 90s and that is way too warm for this time of year. I hope you have a wonderful Easter!

  44. Literary Feline

I hope you have a nice Easter too, Kim! I don’t envy you your weather. I hope it warms up for you soon! Have a great week!

  45. hillary

wow!! How do you manage to get through so any audiobooks? I have to listen on slow speed so I know that slows me down.

  46. Laura Thomas

You had me stumped for a minute when you mentioned grilled rock. LOL Sorry the weather is so cold. We’re experiencing 70s and sunny:) Have a lovely Easter Sunday!

  47. Natalie @Natflix&Books

I am definitely ready for some nice weather. I hope you have a wonderful Easter, and great job tackling your TBR! Your vast reading numbers are always so impressive.

  48. Michelle Gilmore

Happy Easter, and I’m glad you are getting to enjoy some outdoor time. It’s finally getting warmer here as well. It went from about 40 degrees to almost 80 in a matter of two days.

  49. Cricket

Happy Easter, glad you had some good weather to enjoy with the Royals. Have a great week!

  50. Greg

Happy Easter!! And what is up with spring (or the lack of it?) It’s been unseasonably cold here. Glad you had a good week with the Royals though. 🙂

It blows my mind that we’re in April already…

  51. Sophia @ Bookwyrming Thoughts

Woo! First! That hasn’t happened in like 5 years, haha. The weather I hear is going to be the same, but we’ve had rain all week! UGH. That’s good you had a few sunny afternoons though – I think I got one? Maybe? I don’t even know,

    Happy Easter! 🙂
