Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Things have been a little crazy around the Caffeinated House. We have the Royals staying with us for a spell and as you can imagine we are drinking loads of coffee to keep up with a busy three-year-old and exploring 15 months old who seeks to challenge himself with death-defying climbs and wants to know how everything works. I did manage to listen to a few audios, mostly at night and because I was too tired to actually focus on reading a book. This is the last week of #TakeControlTBR. I surpassed my goal of 10 and I’m sitting at 12. I would love to do 3 more. We shall see.  Stay Caffeinated!

How fun! But, I know pretty exhausting too. I enjoyed the pictures you posted on IG. Love the random you posted. Chocolate is my addiction for real. Hope you have a good week and get some rest!

  2. Carole @ Carole's Random Life in Books

Sounds like you have your hands full! Any time I am around my sister’s children who are 3, I am quickly reminded that I am no longer used to dealing with little ones for long periods of time. I am out of practice 🙂 Yay for audiobooks!

  3. Daniela Ark

omg yes I can only imagine all the craziness, coffee but also all the happiness of having the Royals around 🙂 I know EXACTLY what you mean about being to tired to read and THANK GOD for audio books right? 🙂

  4. Tyler H. Jolley

Way to go! Although, I’d expect nothing less. You are so good at crushing your goals. How has your weather been? It’s getting warm, and I’m mountain biking a ton. Happy reading!

  5. Michelle

Sounds like a big challenge to have little kids around. Wow… Glad you still managed to have some reading/listening time. Have fun!

  6. S. J. Pajonas

We had my two nephews over this weekend and I told my kids (11 years old and 7 years old) to put everything away because little kids will touch and pull everything! They’re exhausting! So I totally feel you there. 🙂

  7. sjhigbee

Huge congratulations on hitting your Take Back Control goal, especially as you have the Royals staying over – it’s an exhausting time, although provides loads of wonderful memories later on… Have a good week, Kimberly.

  8. Sophia Rose

Had to laugh at your random post. I totally self-medicate with chocolate some days. 😉

Oh, you’ll be ready for a nice come down from caffeine after the royals have their visit. Those are tough ages to keep up with, but fun, too. 🙂

Nice haul! I just read Other People’s Houses. I enjoyed it for what it was… if that’s not too enigmatic. LOL

Yay for hitting your Take Back Control goal. I’m not going to make my goal- too ambitious, but not bad, either. 🙂

    Have a great week!

  9. Michelle Lee

You are an inspiration! I have a mile long TBR list but haven’t made a huge dent…. I blame the littles. I did just finish a good one, The Secret Life of Mrs. London was so well written and so intriguing. It tells the story of Charmian London, the wife to Jack London. She was amazing but hardly talked about because her husband was always in the spotlight! Oh, and there’s a fabulous love triangle!
I found it here, Back to the caffeine!

  10. Nise'

I just got back from helping out with a 7 mo old grandson who has decided sleep is unnecessary. Wish I could help out longer, but if this grandma doesn’t get sleep she gets sick.

  11. MarthaE

You do have to watch out for the little ones, especially the climbers. 🙂
I hope you are enjoying the visit of the family. I have thought that Owl series might be good.
Hope you have a good week and Happy Reading!

  12. RO

I had to steal that chocolate meme. (lol) You deserve platinum crown forhandling two small children, and still maintaining your sanity.(lol) I know I would have been a basketcase and not got one thing done. Kudos and HUGE hugs…RO

  13. Ethan

It definitely sounds like a busy week, but it is so great that you get to spend this time with the little ones! Enjoy!

  14. Stefanie

You are gettin’ your exercise this weekend with all of the getting up and down and preparing food and snacks for these active grandchildren.

  15. Amy

I had a busy week too but thankfully mine didn’t involve a 15 months old climbing around the house! Well done on the reading too 🙂

  16. ShootingStarsMag

Hah! I’m loving that “she said it a receipt” photo. I need to use that. 😉

That’s awesome you read 12 books this month for the challenge. Go you!

  17. Lola

I hope you’re enjoying your time with the Royals, but I can imagine how they keep you busy and tired. Good to hear you did get some listening done and it seems you’re doing great with the challenge. Have a great week!

  18. Vi @Inkvotary

Wow, I barely managed to read one for the challenge so far, and envy you for the number you are having! Yap, kids keep you always moving. In a good way. Have a wonderful new week.

    Best wishes

  19. Joann B Downie

You definitely need lots of caffeine to deal with 2 little daredevils!! How you managed to get done what you did is terrific and you deserve a nice HUGE pot of your favorite coffee!!

  20. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

Well done with your TBR Pile Challenge! I’m ahead of my goal, too (for a change!) I don’t know if I’ll get any more done this week, though, because I need to start reading April ARCs. I’m taking a week off from blogging (except 2 scheduled posts) but I’ll see you next week! Don’t let the Royals wear you out too much!

  21. Stephanie Jane

Last week of TBR Pile Challenge and it’s been good fun as well as very useful in digging out books sat on my Kindle & bookshelves for months 🙂

  22. A Voracious Reader

I take my hat off to you. I get tired just having a little one around for a few hours. *thud* Congrats on reaching your goal. I have my fingers crossed you’ll sneak in 3 more. 🙂 Have a great week, Kim!

  23. Danielle

I feel you on craziness! I threw in the towel this week and unplugged. Real life just made it seem impossible to keep. Hope you had a lovely weekend!

Love reading about your families. Our children are all grown now but we had 4 little ones running around. These days I wonder how we did it 🙂

    Have a great week!

  25. Karen Blue

Glad to hear you still got some books in with the Royals running around. I can’t believe he is already 15 months. Time really flies. Her sounds like my oldest boy who was born without fear. Even when he hurt himself and I would run to check him, he would tell me “don’t fuss, I’m okay”. Haha!
I have heard some great things about Other People’s Houses. I think it is an Indienext pick.

  26. Sophie

Wow little kids can be exhausting indeed! You had a great reading week nonetheless and Broken Girls is one that caught my attention as it gets many good reviews right now. Happy Sunday!

  27. Bookworm

Have a great week with the little ones! I have to check out the Lori Foster review, I used to read her books and enjoyed them.

  28. Dania

Congratulations on surpassing your goal! I haven’t been that productive in terms of book-reading this week though, hopefully, it’ll be different this upcoming week!

  29. Jolene

I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED Other People’s Houses. Be prepared to laugh out loud so don’t drink any beverages while reading.

  30. Melissa (My words and pages)

I’m so glad my son wasn’t a climber when he was little. They can be crazy! lol. Hope you have a great week!

  31. Jenea’s Book Onsession

Oh wow, your house sounds like fu on right now. I remember my son when he was that age, he tried a lot daring little adventures. Lol… Congrats on passing your goal! Enjoy your grandbabies and the rest of your Sunday!!

  32. Darlene

Congrats on exceeding your TBR goal! I’ve listened to a couple of new releases this month, so I don’t think I’ll make my goal. We shall see!

Have a great week! Those books/authors are new to me.

  33. Suzanne

That’s so great that you’ve already surpassed your challenge goal. My goal was 10 and I’m starting my 9th book today so fingers crossed I’ll make my goal too.

Hope you enjoy your time with the Royals. Those are fun ages but definitely exhausting, lol.

  34. Samantha

You did great with your TBR challenge! Especially considering you did it with a 3 year old and 15 month old clamoring for your attention all day! Hope you have a great week!

  35. Melanie Simmons

I’m so glad to hear that I’m not the only person who gets too tired to read. Glad you had a great time with the Royals. I hope you have a great week.

  36. Cai

    Congratulations on surpassing your goal!!!

Hope you are enjoying The Royals company!

  37. Mary @StackingMyBookShelves!

Awesome that you have your 10 done. I have 5 but they weren’t all the ones I wanted to read – got side tracked but they count. I am hoping to get 2/3 more done so I make my six and a couple of extras for the challenge. We shall see. A 3 year old and a 15 month old oh my you have been busy! Glad you got to see family and that is always nice. Have a happy Sunday!

  38. Yvonne

Congrats on your challenge. You did great. I have The Broken Girls to read next. Looks good.

    Have a great week!

  39. Chrissy

Congrats on surpassing your #TakeControlTBR goal!! The Broken Girls and The Silent Companions both look like great reads!

    Have a good week!

  40. Angela Adams

Looking forward to reading your thoughts on “Gaslight” and “Charming.” Also, since you have little cuties staying with you, does Nonna have any book recommendations coming up?

  41. Christine @Buckling Bookshelves

I can imagine those two really keep you on your toes at their ages! Awesome job on Take Control! I’m in the middle of literally 5 different books that would count — i wonder how many shall I finish? LOL

  42. Maureen Bakker

Sounds like you had a very busy week! But how nice that you’re able to look after your grandbabies as much! 😉
Good luck with #takecontroltbr! Happy reading!

  43. Sam@WLABB

How fun to have so much energy in the house! Fun, but tiring. Congrats on your TBR challenge. I love surpassing my goals. I am scheduled to read the new Waxman this week. I hope we both enjoy it.

  44. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews

Yeah, running around with a three-year old and a 15-month old does sound exhausting! I hope you’re getting some rest this weekend, Kim.
I listened to TWO audiobooks last week. I became so engrossed in the Illuminae files it was impossible to stop listening.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading 🙂

  45. Cricket

Little ones do keep you in your toes. I have a niece that lived to climb on the top of the couch then look at me right before she dove head first.Thankfully she never got hurt but my nerves were shot. Hope you have a great week!

  46. Greg

Ooh I bet they’re keeping you busy! Keep the coffee flowing lol.

Oh I see there’s a fourth Owl book out! Hope they’re good- I’ve only read the first one… it was fun.

  47. Dani @ Perspective of a Writer

Awww I’m so envious of how many audiobooks you listen to Kimberly! I’m just not able to get into them… I’m loving the Take Control Challenge! I hit 10 books and am hoping for 2 more! ♥️

  48. Rachel

Sounds like a bit of fun chaos at your house! Love that random, but I might substitute wine for chocolate. 🙂

  49. Laurel-Rain Snow

Ooh, I have Other People’s Houses and hope to start reading it this week. Enjoy your family and your books! Thanks for sharing…and for hosting.
