Ugh…time change again! Didn’t we just change the time? Oh, yeah, November. What’s up with the short time spread?

Well, since we have no control over it, we can happily look forward to spring…and, as you say, flip flops. Enjoy your week!

  2. Greg

I always hate the time change, but yay for spring! We need a serious warm up here lol! But we’re in Match now so it can’t be far, right? I’m all for flip flops too. 🙂

Curious about Midnight Blue-Light Special. Not only do I LOVE that title but I liked the first book, and have been curious about the others.

    Coffee sizes- right? So true!!!

  3. Laura Thomas

I agree with the random pic you shared. That’s me after we spring forward. For a couple of days I’m in zombie mode at work. LOL

  4. Maree

We’re about to fall back in a few weeks _ I hate daylight savings either way. Have a great week. 🙂

  5. Cyn

I’m lucky I live somewhere that doesn’t involve time change, because the few times I’ve had to experience it was not fun! Haha. But definitely glad spring is its way! Have a lovely week, Kim!

    • Kimberly

Sure rub it in. I hope Florida succeeds in ending Daylight Saving. Maybe more states will follow and at least I know we are retiring there.

  6. Karen Blue

That pic is so right. I don’t like spring ahead half as much I like fall back. I just don’t like loosing an hour. I know it’s not really “lost” but it feels like that. I hope you have a great week Kimberly!

  7. Rachel

I’m currently reading Lake Silence and loving it. Burn Bright was excellent! Happy reading! 🙂

  8. Michelle Gilmore

I usually don’t notice the time change. I do hate losing an hour though, feels like a waste. I’m ready for consistently warmer weather. We had two weeks of mid-70’s and then it dropped down to mid-30’s overnight. My allergies have been all out of wack because of it.

I hope you enjoy your week Kim and your new reads!

    • Kimberly

The fall back is easy but it takes me awhile to adjust to the spring forward. Not looking forward to the pollen but it beats the cold.

  9. Cricket

I’m like you I prefer to wear sandals, so I’m ready for the warmer weather. I’m not thrilled about losing the hour because I feel more tired.

  10. Vee @ Under Mountain Books

I’m really looking forward to spring. We’ve had a lot of cold weather and snow in the uk!

  11. Astrid

Not sure why they still think that DST is beneficial …they just upset nature….at least we get that hour back in October! And yay for flip flops!

I loved Guardian’s Bond – it’s such a new take on the shifter universe! Hope you enjoy.

  12. Jackie Briere

Hey Kim, what do you do at a Twitter party? I can’t wait for the snow to clear so I can walk on the hiking trail without the fear of slipping on ice lol and wear flip flops 🙂

    • Kimberly

This Twitter Party is for participants of Take Control of Your TBR Challenge. We talk about books read during the event, answer questions to win little door prizes and make new friends.

  13. Sam@WLABB

That cartoon is so on point! I won’t feel it today, but I will tomorrow. I wish we did the changes on Friday, so I had time to adjust before I have to go back to work. I like that you see the silver lining to it all, and spring needs to hurry here in the northeast. I am keeping my fingers crossed we can get through this week without a nor’easter. Two in a row was enough.

  14. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews

We don’t spring forward until the 24th. It always seems so weird to me that this doesn’t happen at the same time. Like, really? First of all, I do not enjoy losing that one hour of sleep – I NEED it. Secondly, if it has to be done – we should all just do it at the same time. I guess we’re kind of lucky European countries managed to agree on the date to do it.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading, Kim.

    • Kimberly

I think it all has to do with the location of the sun as to why we do it at different times. I would love it if we just did away with it completely.

  15. Anastasia

Time change is kind of silly and I wish all the countries would unify and either have it or not have it.

And Spring…I guess it’ll only start in May in Finland 😮

  16. Tressa @ Wishful Endings

I hope Take Control is going well! I meant to sign up but then I had computer issues and a whole slue of other things and I’m back to bare minimum until I catch back up. Have a wonderful week!

  17. emma

I am always caught off-guard by time changes. I don’t mind them though because the mornings are lighter and so are the nights and you can’t beat that….

  18. Bee @ Novel Ink

I’m not sure when the time-change is over here but I’m guessing it’ll be soon. I can’t wait for spring! I’m moving in with my boyfriend this month and Spring is going to be the season of getting things ready for the baby to arrive in summer!

  19. Evelina

We haven’t turned the clock yet. It’s in two weeks for us. But I always hate it as a blogger because something is up with my WordPress, it says it changed the time but then it doesn’t. Last year I had quite a few mishaps with scheduled tweets coming out at the wrong time.. I had to change the setting twice for it to work. Unsure of scheduling this year past the dar cause I’m not sure what will happen again :/

    • Kimberly

LOL, my WordPress doesn’t change. When I moved to WordPress the person who did it, entered the wrong time zone. To fix it would mean oodles and oodles of broken links.

  20. Vi @Inkvotary

I am soo ready for warmer days as well. By the end of March, we will turn the clock here too. I hate that! We don´t save energy with it and the daylight isn´t brighter or different from the one we have now.
Not sure if I will be able to attend the Twitter party. Sitting in Europe means I am ahead of you and not sure if I can stay up that long …

    Best wishes
    Vi @Inkvotary

  21. sjhigbee

Ah… yes, you switch into summer time earlier than we do, don’t you? And we have Mothering Sunday earlier:). It tends to mess things up a bit, doesn’t it? Have a great week, Kimberly

  22. Christine @Buckling Bookshelves

Whoever decided on DST must not have had little kids! The spring one should theoretically be a win the parents of a kid who always gets up early, but nope my son was up at 6 anyway even though it should have felt like 5. Though he used to get up at 5 or earlier all the time, so this is an improvement? I hope the royals have a good adjustment!

    • Kimberly

Oh, my. Yes, they tend to sleep a little later but then bedtime is off. I wish they would do away with it completely.

  23. Daniela Ark

Losing an hour of sleep didn’t go weel for us today! UGH we are all like zombies this morning! I wish I could grab that bucket of coffee from your image 🙂 Unfortunately I’ll be driving my daughter to a soccer party but have fun at the Twitter party!

  24. Cindy

This time change is a killer for me 🙂 I look forward to reading essential blogging tools and thanks for sharing! I love your random pic as well! Have a great week!

  25. Suzanne

I can’t stand the time change either and especially the losing an hour of sleep, although like you, I do like that it’s a reminder that we’re almost finished with this cold weather.

Hope you have a great week!

  26. Michelle @Because Reading

I saw a Robin the other day and usually when I see that I know spring is on the way….well after all the snow storms go away. I am just looking forward to spring weather.

Have a great week, Kim! Happy Reading! ox

  27. Lola

I had to look up when our time springs forward and we still have two weeks before the time change takes effect. I hate losing that hour, but I am ready for some slightly warmer weather. Good luck with the take control challenge! Have a great week!

  28. Stormi Johnson

I love that we have more light in the evening but so hate changing my clock and losing sleep. Have a great week!!

    Happy reading,
    Stormi

  29. Jolene

There is always talk every year of getting rid of Day Light Savings. I wish they would! We are on Spring Break here this week so I hope to get lots of reading done but my husband wants to do projects around the house. Enjoy all your books.

    • Kimberly

I think if Florida does away with Daylight Saving it will be the beginning of the end. I am following it closely.

  30. Darlene

Blah! I hate Daylight Savings Time!! I think it should be abolished. It makes it so much harder to wake up when it’s dark. Saskatchewan is the only province in Canada that doesn’t change their clocks. I wish it was the same for us! It totally messes with the body rhythm.

Hope you get to break out your flip-flops soon! For us, spring is unpredictable. We’ve had snowstorms in May!

Enjoy your new books! I haven’t seen those around before.

  31. Melissa (My World...in words and pages)

I am with you on the time changes. It’ll hit me tomorrow when I’m at work. Ugh. Have a great week! And have fun at the Twitter party!

  32. Jessica @ a GREAT read

OOh nice new reads! Haven’t heard of those either! I wouldn’t mind just a tiny bit of warmer weather, but it has been rather nice lately with the temps being above freezing, so I did get my wish! Flip flops would be nice though too! Happy Reading!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  33. Anna

I also can’t wait for flip-flop weather! It feels rather far away right now, but I know it’ll be here soon enough 😉

  34. Danielle

I do not honestly need the extra light haha 😉 I am lol’ing at the Daylight Saving meme haha. Glad things seem better healthwise and hope the Twitter party is a huge success!

      • Danielle

Haha I wish I could say the same, but the warmer weather is a symptom trigger with me, so I am one of those weird “I love winter” gals 😉

        • Kimberly

Oh my. Nope, the cold makes my joints swell and ache. High AC does too, like at a movie theater. By the time the movie ends my knees refuse to work. I feel 10xs better in the heat. Not humidity mind you, but warmth.

          • Danielle

Yeah I think humidity is rough all around. Fortunately, it is rarely an issue here. It is funny how temps can have such varying affects on others isn’t it?! The heat increases the number of drop attacks I experience and seems to really kick my nerve and muscle pain in over drive. But I can see how cold could be so unbearably difficult for you. So I will savor the warmth knowing it might bring you so reprieve

    • Kimberly

Yay, glad to hear that. I actually was prepping my review post for it, as it is in the queue for this week, and realized I never shared that I received it.

  35. A Voracious Reader

We supposedly have a few more days of chilly (snow tomorrow???) and then we should be more spring-like after. I’m looking forward to getting some work done outside. Assuming it’s not just warmer, but drier too. Can’t build shelves in the Exterior Library if we can’t take stuff out due to rain. lol I hope you have a fantastic week, Kim!

  36. Amy

I’m so glad that BST doesn’t start until the 25th because I’m not ready to lose that hour of sleep yet. I think everyone is ready for Spring to start though!

    Happy reading 🙂

  37. Charlie

I’ve started wearing my flip flops. I think I’m suffering a bit today with the spring forward and loss of the hour, plus the lack of sleep I’ve been getting lately. I hope I’ll be around for the Twitter party this afternoon.

    • Kimberly

I have them on in the house some days, and others my fuzzy slippers. The weather cannot make up its mind.

  38. Stephanie Jane

Good luck with your clock change!
Ours will go forward an hour on the 25th March and we’ll be in France. A week or so later we return to the UK so will have to put them back an hour again as we cross the Channel! Goodness knows what time my brain will be on by then!

  39. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

It’s still pretty chilly here, and we might even get snow tomorrow. No flipflops for me! I guess I’m ready for spring, too… and definitely ready to do some spring cleaning! I hope you got enough sleep last night despite the time change. I went to bed late (silly me) so I’m a little low-energy this morning.

I won’t be able to make the Twitter party, because I’m running a rehearsal this afternoon. I hope you all have fun, though!

Have a great week, and I’m glad you’re feeling better.

  40. Jasprit

Our daylight savings doesn’t kick in until the end of this month and I’m dreading it! I hate that we lose an hour of sleep! That take control of your tbr challenge sounds like a wonderful idea, mine is pretty out of control at the moment! I hope you have a great week! 🙂

  41. Chrissy

Today was rough for Daylight Saving! I’m almost ready for spring to come.

    Have a fabulous week!

  42. Samantha

I hate the time change! I wish we would just pick a time and stick with it all year! Ugh! Hope you have a good week!

  43. ShootingStarsMag

Yeah, I really hate losing an hour of sleep but at least it’s on a Sunday and not a day that I have to work. hah I am ready for it to be lighter out later though, and for more signs for Spring to finally arrive so it’s not all bad.

    -Lauren

  44. Sophia Rose

I tell myself that I’m thrilled to have more daylight at the end of my day, but the first few days of adjustment, its a hard sell.

I’m off to a good start for the challenge though I definitely over-estimated how many past-releases I can read this month.. I forgot I pre-ordered three new releases. LOL Oh well, I’ll make a good showing of it.

    Have a great week, Kimberly!

    • Kimberly

I have been weaving in one ARC a week since I blog ahead, but yes I have a new release being delivered next week and I will have to sit on my hands not to grab it and read

  45. JJ @ This Dark Material

This was the worst weekend to start DST! I had a late night Saturday and some can’t-miss obligations this afternoon…oof. Enjoy wearing those flip-flops this week 🙂

  46. Angela @ Angel's Guilty Pleasures

Thank’s for sharing around the Blogosphere. I really enjoyed the post on Goodreads Ratings – rating before you’ve read the book. Your new arrivals look nice. I hope you enjoy them. I’ve been reading Rhenna Morgan Contemporary Romance series Men of Haven. I loved the first 3 books, just finished the four and I wasn’t a fan. I’m hoping this is the only one that doesn’t work. ^_^ Things have been quit around my neck of the woods. My flowers in the garden are coming up and boy do they smell wonderful. I hoping for more warm and sunny weather.
Have a great week and happy reading!

  47. MarthaE

I am glad for this time change and double glad that Florida has voted to stay on daylight savings time so we won’t be falling back.
    Sorry I missed the chat today… Didn’t have the time right…again. 🙁
Looks like you are still enjoying the Iron Druid series.
Hope you have a good week and Happy Reading!

  48. Stefanie

My youngest, all wrapped up in her Tsum Tsum sheets and blankets, was indignant that she had to get up and had lost an hour of sleep.

    • Kimberly

I am glad. Yes, it can be crazy. Did you use TweetChat? It’s the only way I can keep track..LOL

  49. S. J. Pajonas

The time change absolutely killed me. I was all out of whack yesterday and this morning, after getting the kids to school, I went back to bed! Sooooo tired.

  50. Lorna

This freaking time change! I just got up at 2:00 pm. I stay up until close to dawn most nights, but am almost always up be noon. It’s messing with me big time. Normally it’s not this bad. Anywho, hope you have a great rest of the week!

  51. Tyler H. Jolley

It’s spring break here, so we’re on vacation. I think this is making my transition into the new time much easier. I really hope the school district does spring break over the time change again next year. It’s been nice not having to fight the kids to get up with the loss of an hour. Although, I’m sure it’ll be a struggle next week.

  52. lisa thomson

Thanks for the round up, Kim. I’m two days late here but see I have some reviews to read. Yes, I hate the time change too but also love the lighter evenings. It’s a catch-22 for the first week, LOL. Can’t wait for flip-flop season.

  53. Andreea

I hope you are having fun with the Take Control Challenge – it sounds awesome, but I was too scared to join (also too big of a moody-reader). Enjoy your new books and that illustration made my day – I hate daylight saving!

    • Kimberly

Don’t tell me your TBR pile is that limited in selection? I am a mood reader too and currently on a UF and PR binge 🙂

      • Andreea

It’s too scary to check actually, but I always find something that sound too interesting not to read on NetGalley – although I am falling behind on Beat the Backlist so it might be time to check my TBR X_X
