Well, we listened to our doctor and really unplugged from life for a few days and while we still have loose coughs, I honestly think we have kicked the infections that have plagued us. I cannot believe February is almost behind us and that Take Control begins this week! Did you join? Linky closes on Friday so don’t delay. The idea is to read or listen to as many books on your TBR pile as you can during the month of March. If you’re a blogger, you can build up posts for later dates and just review a few lines on Goodreads. All are welcome.  Stay Caffeinated.

  1. Laurel-Rain Snow

I’m glad you are all feeling better….enjoy those books. I’m on the fence about Baby Teeth…I’ll be eager to read your thoughts.

    Have a great week!

  2. Greg

Glad you guys are feeling better! I also can’t believe we’re pushing March now… crazy. Where did February go? Ah well I’m ready for spring, so I’ll take it…

Love the Random of the week… 🙂

    Have a great week Kimba!

  3. Laura Thomas

So good to hear you are both on the mend. Now to not overdo it again! And that random quote had me almost spitting my tea all over my computer. LOL Perfect description of us bookworms!

  4. JoLee

Happy to hear you are all doing better. I really would love and need to join Take Control challeneg but it seems everytime I start a challenge I can never finish but in the past I was taking quite a few hiatus from blogging. Look foward to your review for True To You. Seen this author around but have yet to try her. Lol on your Totally Random. That is so true.

  5. Maree

I’m glad you’re feeling better. Lol your “totally random” is absolutely how I share books with one of my friends. Have a great week!

  6. Mallory

YAY! I’m so glad to hear you’re finally feeling better 🙂 Love this week’s random thought as well – that feels like most books that are recommended to me (and that I continue to read).

I need to get my sign-up post together for the TBR challenge! I’m trying to not buy any books on March, so this feels like a great way to help hold myself accountable 🙂

  7. Karen Blue

Oh my! It is already nearly March. I still haven’t figured out if I am going to do the Take Back Control this year. I have a lot to do this coming month. I might just lower my number, not that I am getting much reviewed lately. I have been reading a lot, but I am seriously behind on writing the reviews. I like the idea of just writing a few lines on Goodreads, I might just go that route.
I’m glad to see you picked up Baby Teeth. I read that two weeks ago and I still don’t quite know how to review it. I haven’t sorted out my feelings about it. I was quite addicted to the story though. I guess you’ll see what I mean when you read it.
Glad to hear you had got some relaxing in this past week. Happy reading!

  8. Astrid

I’ve given up conquering my TBR. Utter defeat. I’ll leave this world not having read all the books, dammit.

    Glad you’re doing better!

  9. Sam@WLABB

It is fantastic news that you are moving towards recovery. With the month you’ve had, I would be glad to bid Feb farewell. TBR is such a loose term for me. It’s such an evolving thing. I have a lot of books I want to read on it, but I do not necessarily own all those books.

  10. JJ @ This Dark Material

That Dark Tower news is great to hear! I’m a too bogged down in upcoming releases to make much progress on my TBR backlog this coming month but I’ll be rooting for everyone from the sidelines! Hope you have a great week Kim 🙂

  11. Ardis @ Pondering The Prose

I am really excited for the Take Control Challenge. I have 1 1/2 books of ARCs to read before March and then I will be at a point to start the challenge.

I have been really sick these past few months, too. I hope you are starting to master your illness, and are getting stronger each day. Have a wonderful week.

  12. Evelina

That’s so good that you guys are feeling better. I hope it all clears up completely in the next week 🙂

  13. Cai

I am super excited for the challenge!! I’ll be on holiday for the first few days so hoping to smash out some books!

  14. Maureen Bakker

Good to hear you are both finally feeling better. It’s crazy how fast February went by right?! I feel like time just keeps going by faster and faster.
Have a great week Kimberly and happy reading!

  15. cindy

So happy that you are resting up this weekend and on the road to recovery! Have a wonderful week!

  16. Daniela Ark

Glad to hear taking a break paid off! I need the Take Control challenge! Life has been so crazy for us too. Taking control of something would be nice.! Hope you feel reenergized now KIm!

  17. Vi @Inkvotary

Glad that you and your family are well again. Here the fun of having a cold or the flu is on a new peak. People around me are sick and no end in sight … Curious if I will go through this period without getting it.
I finally made it and wrote my sign-up post for the Take Control Challenge and linked it up. The fun can begin *smile*

    Best wishes
    Vi @Inkvotary

  18. Michelle @Because Reading

Glad to hear you are all feeling better. Not sure if I will be joining Take Control this time around, I have to see how this week goes.

Hope this week is awesome for you Kim! Happy Reading! ox

  19. Kari @ Kari Reads and Writes

Hope this is the week that you guys beat your illness and bounce back with energy to spare! Spring is in the air here, or wishful thinking? Don’t know yet, seems too soon.

I’ll think about your Take Control and see if I’d be able to do it. Sounds like fun, though!

  20. Bookworm

Glad you’re continuing to feel better. There are so many SK film adaptations, I can’t keep track anymore. It’s slight overkill.
Thanks for hosting the Take Control challenge, I’m definitely doing that one. Happy Sunday!

  21. Natalie @Natflix&Books

So happy to hear you are fiknally kicking that infection! We’ve been worried about you. I’ve given up all hope of ever really tackling my TBR. It is a beast that cannot be tamed. Lol. Have a great week!

  22. Angela Adams

Happy to hear you’re feeling better. The cold/flu season has been brutal this year. Glad to see Nonna’s on the list for the week. Enjoy your Sunday!

  23. sjhigbee

I’m so pleased to hear that you are on the mend:). Do take it a bit easy though – one of the features of this illness is that it seems to make an unwelcome return if you try doing too much too soon. Take care and have a great, germ-free week, Kimberly:)

  24. Mary

I just got Baby Teeth also. I am interested in this one. I haven’t been picking many from Netgalley so I hope it’s interesting! =)

  25. Yvonne

So glad to hear you are feeling better. I hope you are 100% better soon.

Baby Teeth looks good. I’ve been thinking of adding that one to my list.

    Have a great week!

  26. A Voracious Reader

Yay for kicking bug arse! Just remember not to jump completely in with both feet for a few more days. Hard to do, I know. 😀

I’m so tempted to do the Take Control, but if I don’t get much read, like is my life lately, I think it’ll stress me out. I’ll have to ponder it some more.

I hope you have a fantastic week, Kim!

  27. Lynn

So glad to hear you are finally feeling better!
Looks like you got some great books this week! Love the title Baby Teeth! I hope you’ll enjoy them all!
    Have a wonderful week!

  28. Suzanne

Glad to hear you and the hubby are finally feeling better! I had forgotten about your TBR challenge but may go ahead and sign up since I had such a bad month in February for books that have already been published. and need to get back on track. I hope you have a great week!

  29. Melissa (My World...in words and pages)

So glad you are starting to feel better. Just remember, don’t push too hard as it may come back. 🙂

    Take care!!

  30. Anna

Take Control Challenge sounds fun but man my March is just too busy– my goal to try and get some reading done, period 😉

  31. Darlene

I still haven’t tried Molly Harper. Baby Teeth was one of my “can’t wait” Wednesday picks. Sounds good!

Yes, I’m ready for Take Control! I’m glad that you’re on the mend. My mom was very sick last week with a wet phlegmy chest. Not good!

  32. Andreea

Glad to hear you are all feeling better! March will be quite a busy month, but Take Control seems like a lot of fun and I am not yet sure if to join or not.

  33. Rachel

Glad you’re feeling better. I hope your Take Control Challenge goes well next month. I’ll see what my reading schedule looks like next month to determine if I can take control a little bit. 🙂

  34. Michelle

Glad to know you are feeling better. Remember to take good care of yourself first! The Take Control Challenge sounds fun! Hope I can read even more books in March.

  35. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

Oh, I hope you’re right and you have finally kicked this infection! I’m signing up for Take Control; my post goes up tomorrow. I’m keeping my goals modest, though, given my work schedule. I wish you a wonderful week and hope you continue to feel better every day.

  36. Jan

So glad you both are feeling better, Kimberly. I will go check out the TBR Challenge. I hope you have a great week!

  37. Lola

I am glad to hear that you finally seemed to have kicked the infections and that unplugging for a few days helped. I have a lot of upcoming ARC’s that publish in march to read next month, so I won’t be joining the challenge, but it does sound like a fun challenge. I know I still have a bunch of older ARC’s I need to get to as well. Have a great week!

  38. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

So glad you’re both starting to feel better! It’s been a rough few months in the caffeinated household. I have that Molly Harper on my Audible wishlist. I’ve only read one of her supernatural books but I loved it. I’ve heard they’re great on audio. Have a great week!

  39. Danielle

Wonderful to read you are on the road to feeling well again! I normally love winter, but what a rough. I glad welcome Spring haha. I have seen Baby Teeth making a few rounds, so I will be waiting to read your impressions. Stay better – xx

  40. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

Thank goodness you’re finally over the worst and getting better! So interesting to see Kevin Hearne take such a spotlight this week. My husband just started reading that series (Iron Druid) a couple days ago and is really enjoying it. It’s great that he has so many books ahead of him. Finding an established series can be such a coup. 🙂

  41. Sophia Rose

February went by in a blink. Can’t believe the challenge begins this week. I’m rarin’ to go.

So glad you guys are feeling a bit more healthy. Enjoy those new books on the pile!

  42. Amy

I hope this week is better for you both. I wish I could take part in Take Control but my March is looking super busy at the moment so I doubt I’ll be able to read much, nevermind take part in a challenge. Good luck with it though! 🙂

  43. Christine

I totally forgot about my sign-up post for Take Control! Will be doing that later today And glad you are finally feeling better!!

Oops — I put this comment on the wrong post earlier!

  44. Lily

glad to hear you guys are doing better, we had a head cold two weeks ago around here and I can still feel its side effects!
I’ll have to see if I can take part of the Take Control this year, I really want to.

  45. Cricket

I’m glad you are starting feel better. How to Date your Dragon looks like it would be very interesting and makes me want to check it out. I have to look into Take Control this year, I don’t know what all is on my TBR list. Have a great week!

  46. Mandy Sickle

Glad to hear you guys are starting to feel better. This bug seems to not want to let you go. Sometimes a little rest and unplugging is good for the soul. I can’t believe we are almost to March. I’m not ready yet. Eeek I still have books to read on my list for the month. I hope you feel even better. Have a great week and happy reading.

  47. Charlie

I”m so glad you two are kicking the ick! I still have lingering ear infections. I just want them to go away! lol I hope you have a great week!

  48. Barbara Strickland

So glad to hear you are getting better. I am now having my own moments and currently may have to change my caffeinating habits amongst other things. May have to say goodbye to dairy forever. Yes I know there are other things but I like my fluffy white.
Am looking forward to watching this challenge. I can’t commit my time this month till the moments problem is solved but good luck all.

  49. Christina T

I hope you and your family continue to get better every day. I am glad March is nearly here. Hopefully it will bring better health for everyone too!

I am thinking of participating in Take Control again this year. I definitely have some catching up to do on my books for review.

  50. Kathy

I’m so glad to hear you are feeling better. How to Date Your Dragon sounds really good and is on my Audible wishlist. I bought Hounded during the sale and I can’t wait to listen to it. I hope you have a great week!

  51. Nise'

Glad you both were obedient patients this week and are feeling better! The Dragon book sounds good. Have a great week.

  52. ShootingStarsMag

I’m glad that you are starting to kick the sickness! It’s just going around everywhere it seems. I don’t know if I’m doing the TBR challenge next month or not. I don’t have a TON of books to review – which is nice – so I’m mostly focusing on backlist…or that’s the plan at least. haha

    -Lauren

  53. Carole @ Carole's Random Life in Books

I am so happy to hear that you and your hubby are finally starting to feel better. I am planning on signing up for your challenge and am excited about it. I do have to read a few books during the month that won’t count but I hope to make a dent in my backlog. Have a great week!

  54. MarthaE

Yep and Yikes – March already. Glad your household is feeling better. Now stay healthy!
I have Discount Armageddon on my Audible TBR. I do hope to get to it later this year.
It is fun to see you enjoying the Kevin Hearne series. 🙂
    Happy Reading/listening!

  55. Bookworm Brandee

I hope you are well and truly over the nasty bugs that have been plaguing y’all! I’m excited for Take Control! It’s always a fun challenge. 🙂 Have a great week, Kimberly!

  56. S. J. Pajonas

Glad to hear you’re feeling better! It’s amazing how sickness can hold on for so long. I had the flu a few weeks ago and I’m only now feeling back to normal. It really does leave you exhausted for a long time!

  57. RO

I really love the random quote and speaks to how I’ve felt about quite a few books in my life. (lol) Thank goodness you are all on the mend! I know it was rough going for a while. By the way, I’m on my 3rd cup of coffee which is weird for me. (lol) Hugs…RO

  58. Steph

Glad to hear you are getting a bit better. This year really is flying by! I cant wait to start Taking Control. I am all signed up and ready to go! 🙂
