Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

We were very happy to cheer our Eagles to victory last Sunday. The win was bittersweet, as our Uncle Joe whose passing was late last year, didn’t get to see the team he loved so dearly win the championship. We are still on the mend and avoiding all germs..lol I think it’s safe to say we did our fair share of sick days this year. This week I caught up on all my reviews and took lots of naps. We had snow almost every other day. We would get the driveway cleared and bam we were at it again. Friday into Saturday we ended up with another five inches. I am sooo ready for Spring.

I spent Friday night and part of Saturday devouring Lake Silence on audio while reading along with an arc copy. Bliss! For those who don’t know, The Others is one of my favorite series and I own the books in every format; Audio, eBook, and Hardcover! I’ll be visiting everyone who comments today and tomorrow. I cannot wait to see what you’ve been up to!  Stay Caffeinated.

So glad you’re feeling better (and that your Egals won!). Really excited for your reviews next week – I think every one of those is on my TBR list. Will have to make sure I pick-them up before the March TBR challenge … I really need to link-up with that one. I may or may not have developed a tiny Barnes & Noble addiction this year 🙂

  2. Literary Feline

I seem to have the worst luck with links lately. The first one is the wrong one. 🙁 I don’t know if there’s a way you can delete it, Kim. I’m so glad you loved Lake Silence. I look forward to reading that one at some point. I hope everyone is feeling better. You’ve had such rotten luck health wise in recent weeks. I wish one of my personalities liked to clean as well. *sigh* Oh well. 🙂 Have a great week, Kim!

    • Kimberly

I fixed it for you. Yes, January was just a nasty month here at Casa de Costa. LOL. Hopefully, the rest of the year I’ll be healthy.

  3. Greg

I was pretty happy with that Eagles win! And it’s been the same way here- school was called off Friday and we got MORE snow. So over it!

    Lake Silence looks so good.

We are from South Jersey and grew up on the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers, so it’s been a jubilant time here. We spent the morning digging out and right now it is snowing. We can no longer see the driveway and sidewalks. UGH!

  4. Michelle Gilmore

I’m glad you are on the mend! I really need to try out The Others series, I have the first one on audio. I just haven’t made time for it.
I am ready for summer. Spring down here means tornados. We were rumored to get snow last week, instead, we ended up with a high of 65 and a tornado warning. So I imagine true spring will be a nightmare.

I hope you have a great week this week!

Yay, I am glad you chose audio. Harris is fantastic Michelle. It feels good to breathe without wheezing. We get tornados too but I love the freshness of Spring.

  5. Cricket

I’m glad you’re feeling better. No snow here just rainy these past few days and a lot of hot one day and cold the next. I’ve never heard of the Others series, so I’m going to have to check it out. Have a great week.

Hi Kim, Lake Silence sounds good. But I look forward to more snow and winter fun, although it has been really cold lately yet I love the snow. Anyway, I am happy to hear you’re all doing better and enjoying The Others series I haven’t heard of before.

So, so happy to hear you guys are finally on the mend!!! It’s been so warm here that snow sounds nice. Lol! Hopefully you get warmer and we get cooler. Have a fabulous week!

    • Kimberly

Yeah, we found a lot of people rooting for our guys because they hate the Patriots. Yes, I was very happy with Lake Silence. and cannot wait for the next book.

  8. Sam@WLABB

Yeah! Glad you are feeling better. OMG! Snow every day would make me cry. It has been raining here for two days. We are fortunate it isn’t a little colder or we’d have the white stuff too. I work near Philly, so my co-workers were really happy about the Eagles. We had jersey’s and jeans on Thursday and three of my teammates even went to the parade. I think I know the songs after hearing it over and over again as they streamed the parade. lol.

We have been living and breathing it for a week. I enjoy all sports but don’t get upset if a social event interferes with a game..my hubby however dies.

  9. Lola

I am glad to hear you’re all on the mend now. We also had some colder days this week suddenly, but no snow here, only a little bit of wet snow that disappeared as soon as it hit the ground. I still have to start the Others series, but I have book 1 on my shelf. Have a great week!

Yay for the Eagles! I’m hoping it’s the only time I ever have to cheer for them, but anyone is better than the Patriots. Lol. Glad you are on the mend, and I’m so with you on spring. Happy reading!

Glad to hear you are all feeling better. I feel like everyone has been sick a bunch this year. We aren’t Pat’s fans so of course, we are cheering on the Eagles. I hate getting behind on reviews it always stresses me out a little so I know how nice it is to be all caught up. One of these days I’m going to get on the audio book bandwagon. Have a great week and happy reading.

Yes, I never have more than one or two to write since I am anal, but the dreaded illnesses of January had me building them up. It felt good to knock them out. I did 3 or so a day.

  12. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

I got approved for Lake Silence this past week and am ridiculously excited to start reading. I love The Others series. Actually, I’ve listened to the entire series on audio and have never actually read a physical copy of the books. Silly me didn’t think about that when I requested the arc. I’ll have to try to figure out how/where to request the audio version next time!

Tanya @ Girl Plus Books recently posted: The Sunday Post #94

Tanya, I request the arc every time even though I know I will listen first. I use it to cross reference spelling etc since I listen in advance of publication. Since we are at a new development I actually listened and followed along with the arc. Send me your email address and blog info and I will forward your info to the audio publicist.

  13. Suzanne

I’m glad to hear you guys are starting to feel better! The Super Bowl was such a great game this year and I was thrilled to see the Eagles beat the Pats.

I’ll be looking forward to your review of The Lucky Ones too. I’ve been thinking of adding that one to my TBR so can’t wait to see what you thought of it.

And OMG, yes. I wish one of my personalities loved to clean as well, lol. Have a great week!

    • Kimberly

Go Eagles! I wish Brownies were real, I would leave them tea and cookies every night if they cleaned while I slept.

  14. Daniela Ark

the pats lost [sobs] Sorry that your uncle didn’t get to see his favorite team win 🙁 These special occasions always remind us of the loved ones that are not with us anymore. Glad to hear you are napping . Naps are the best way to reign your strength after been sick so long. Thank you for visiting!

I am so happy to hear you guys are feeling better. We had an outbreak at work and they had to put all the employees in Tamiflu. It is so bad this year.
I guess the win was bittersweet. I’m sure he saw it from somewhere, his team won.
I hope you have a great week!

Seriously, we got our flu shots in October. A lot of good that did us. Yikes, if I didn’t have symptoms there is no way I would take Tamiflu.

  16. Jan

I’m glad you all are feeling better, Kimberly. I’m jealous you’ve already listened to Lake Silence. I’ve preordered the audio versions of both Lake Silence and Patricia Briggs’ Burn Bright. Really looking forward to them.

I hope you have a great week!

Good to hear that your family is finally on the mend after all the illness in your house!

I love that Kelley Armstrong series and enjoyed that book, and look forward to Bishop’s Lake Silence but I have to read the title before it first.

Hope this week goes well for you, with your blogging, reading, and health!

Nice new reads! I’m still waiting on my copy of Lake Silence to arrive! I finally got caught up with The Others series so hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze that one in sooner rather than later whenever it does arrive! Hope you enjoy your other new reads too!

Oooo, I should jump on Lake Silence!! I’m almost afraid to b/c I didn’t write my review for the last book in The Others and I don’t want to mess up the review, ya know, get details muddled even though it’s a whole other set of characters, blah, blah, setting record for longest run on sentence.

Yeah, we’re buried under snow, too!!! I swear, it was the same thing here, too: shovel, snow, shovel, snow, snowblow, snow, plow goes down road finally, dig out end of driveway, snow… it’s freaking snowing right now!! But “only” 2-4 inches of ICEY snow 😀 I’m sitting on my ass, working on the computer, and going nowhere.

    Glad you’re feeling better!!! xoxoxoxox

Floods are so not cool. One summer my husband was forced to work from home for a month because roads flooded all along his commute root. Fingers crossed for you.

  20. Mary

I like that you are doing audio reviews. I started getting audio books from my library a while ago then stopped. I see your doing a challenge for them. I should just pick some up again. My drive to work would help me listen to them. I was thinking of joining the TBR challenge for March. I have plenty of those. =)

Yay for the Eagles and Yay for being on the mend. Also, YAY for reviews being done. I’m sure that was stressing you out. I have one left and I’ll probably write it today.

No snow here. Chilly and rainy. I’m wondering if the one storm we got will be it for us. I’d like one more nice snow to use our sleds, but I guess we’ll see. I hope you have a great week, Kim!

So stoked to hear that you loved Lake Silence! I’m currently catching up on the series in anticipation of reading it.

Glad to hear that you are on the mend. I can relate with winter blues. We haven’t had much snow, but it’s been bitterly cold here (-27 degrees Celsius with windchill of -37). I just can’t seem to get warm!

    Have a good week!

It keeps trying to snow here but it doesn’t last very long at all. I love snow though as long as I don’t have to go out in it. I’m not happy when I’m out in the cold!

    Have a lovely week 🙂

I am so happy to hear y’all are starting to feel somewhat better. So much snow though, jeez! We had an ice storm last Sunday night, which is something I think I hate worse than than snow. At least I can drive in snow, I’m not venturing down our mountain in ice at all! Spring is sounding pretty good right about now. Enjoy those new books Kim!

The victory was a celebrated one here as well, although I admittedly read through the game stopping to watch commercials. I am not as big on sports as I used to be. I am thrilled to see you are on the mend. What a rough go and start to the year!

I will be trying to catch up slowly this week. I am admittedly a bit depressed at the moment so clearing my head. It will pass soon enough. Hope you stay well <3

If it’s not my team I will read, but these were our boys so we sat on the edge of seats. Is it seasonal? This time of year is hard. I know since I may only venture outside 2 or 3 times a month during the winter months.

  27. vvb

Yay! Glad you’re much better. Brrr with your snow. We’ve been getting unusually warm weather these past couple weeks. So, not feeling the extra winter that Groundhog day predicted. Happy reading/listening!

  28. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

It’s good to hear you’re on the mend. You must be feeling better if you were able to get caught up on your reviews! I’m working on that myself. Sorry about your snow. It hasn’t been cold enough here this week for snow, but we’ve been deluged with rain. The lawn is too soggy to walk on. I hope we all get better weather soon. Have a great week, and enjoy those new books!

I sat in bed or on the sofa under covers and did 2 or 3 a day every day until I was caught up. Of course, now I have two to write for the books I finished this weekend, but that I can deal with.

  29. Sophia Rose

Oh man, this was definitely a very snowy week. I got lots of exercise out there shoveling.

Fun that you got to spend time with one of your favorite books this week.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  30. Jennifer

Glad you guys are on the up swing of the sickness. Hopefully you’ll get a break in the snow soon.

I devoured Burn Bright on audio the other day and will start Lake Silence Monday at work. Hopefully getting it done in one day as well.

    • Kimberly

I have already read Burn Bright but downloaded the audio since I love the narrator and will listen and add my comments on narration to my review.

  31. sjhigbee

I hope the snow soon goes and you continue recovering… February is always brutal – still too much winter and not enough spring. I hope you have a better week with more warmth and plenty of books, Kimberly.

  32. Laura @ Library of Clean Reads

So glad you’re better! We are getting dumped snow and freezing rain all the time. Our weather sucks! I’ve also listened to audio while following along with a print book and enjoyed the experience. Enjoy your upcoming week!

  33. Charlie

I am on the mend, too. My work partner and I are definitely trying to avoid all the germs. We got a sudden arctic blast and I picked the coldest day to go get my pedicure and go to the grocery store. I am now home bundled up and refuse to budge. LOL

  34. RO

Thank goodness you all are feeling much better these days. I know it had to be the pits. Send some of that snow here, please! It’s February and 72 degrees in NC. Stay warm. Huge Hugs…RO

Hello. I’m sorry I’m so behind on your blog and others’. But here I am, waiting for my corn chowder to heat up. I am so glad to read you and your beloved husband are finally on the mend. Man, you two were run over and the truck back up to run you over again and then again when it took off. I hope your immune systems are titanium now.
My dad, my husband, my mum, and I are happy your Eagles won. Man, it was intense watching that second half!
