Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

We were very happy to cheer our Eagles to victory last Sunday. The win was bittersweet, as our Uncle Joe whose passing was late last year, didn’t get to see the team he loved so dearly win the championship. We are still on the mend and avoiding all I think it’s safe to say we did our fair share of sick days this year. This week I caught up on all my reviews and took lots of naps. We had snow almost every other day. We would get the driveway cleared and bam we were at it again. Friday into Saturday we ended up with another five inches. I am sooo ready for Spring.

I spent Friday night and part of Saturday devouring Lake Silence on audio while reading along with an arc copy. Bliss! For those who don’t know, The Others is one of my favorite series and I own the books in every format; Audio, eBook, and Hardcover! I’ll be visiting everyone who comments today and tomorrow. I cannot wait to see what you’ve been up to!  Stay Caffeinated.

Hello. I’m sorry I’m so behind on your blog and others’. But here I am, waiting for my corn chowder to heat up. I am so glad to read you and your beloved husband are finally on the mend. Man, you two were run over and the truck back up to run you over again and then again when it took off. I hope your immune systems are titanium now.
My dad, my husband, my mum, and I are happy your Eagles won. Man, it was intense watching that second half!

  2. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

Glad you’re on the mend though I imagine it’ll be awhile before you’re up to full strength! Hopefully that means you can get a lot of good reading in. I would love a personality that loves to clean. It’d make life so much easier! Hope you’re having a great week!

    • Kimberly

I like it right around Christmas, but not every other day. We actually have to do snow maintenance, were we level off snow so we can see to back out of

  3. Tyler H. Jolley

We got dumped on Saturday, but we really needed the snow. I’m glad you guys are on the mend. Have a great week, Kimba!

  4. JoLee

Sorry about your loss. Sad to hear your Uncle Joe was not able to see his team win. Happy to see that you and the family are getting better. Friday we got hit with snow too. Was to get hit again Sunday but ended up just missing us. I was happy for the hubby poor thing was tired from Friday storm. I need to check out your favorite serie The Others. Happy reading.

    • Kimberly

We had to get the snow shovel and snowblower out Sat and Sun morning…ugh. Oh yes, I hope you try the Others, it begins with Written in Red.

  5. RO

Thank goodness you all are feeling much better these days. I know it had to be the pits. Send some of that snow here, please! It’s February and 72 degrees in NC. Stay warm. Huge Hugs…RO

  6. Lorna

So glad you are feeling better. I read Lake Silence last week as well. I loved it but really missed the other characters. I haven’t been reading as much as usual, had some busy days as my car had been dead and I had to get a new one. Haven’t had a car payment in at least twenty years so this ought to be fun! Have a good week and stay away from germs!

  7. MarthaE

I am glad you are feeling better! I really need to start the Alpha and Omega series. Hope this is a good week for you. Happy Reading/Listening!

  8. Nise'

So glad that you are all on the mend and have not had any set backs! We are experiencing that same kind of weather.

  9. Charlie

I am on the mend, too. My work partner and I are definitely trying to avoid all the germs. We got a sudden arctic blast and I picked the coldest day to go get my pedicure and go to the grocery store. I am now home bundled up and refuse to budge. LOL

  10. Laura @ Library of Clean Reads

So glad you’re better! We are getting dumped snow and freezing rain all the time. Our weather sucks! I’ve also listened to audio while following along with a print book and enjoyed the experience. Enjoy your upcoming week!

  11. Melanie Simmons

I’m listening to Lake Silence too. I have just a few hours left. I’m really enjoying the new story line. I miss Meg though. Glad you’re feeling better. I hope it stays that way.

  12. sjhigbee

I hope the snow soon goes and you continue recovering… February is always brutal – still too much winter and not enough spring. I hope you have a better week with more warmth and plenty of books, Kimberly.

  13. Mary Kirkland

I wish it snowed a little here in the winter but it hardly ever happens. It was in the 70’s all week. lol Glad to hear that you’re feeling better.

  14. Jennifer

Glad you guys are on the up swing of the sickness. Hopefully you’ll get a break in the snow soon.

I devoured Burn Bright on audio the other day and will start Lake Silence Monday at work. Hopefully getting it done in one day as well.

    • Kimberly

I have already read Burn Bright but downloaded the audio since I love the narrator and will listen and add my comments on narration to my review.

  15. Sophia Rose

Oh man, this was definitely a very snowy week. I got lots of exercise out there shoveling.

Fun that you got to spend time with one of your favorite books this week.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  16. Nadene

I am happy to hear you are feeling better. Well, no snow for me. 🙂 I hope to one day experience snow. We are experiencing cool temperatures with lots of wind.

  17. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

It’s good to hear you’re on the mend. You must be feeling better if you were able to get caught up on your reviews! I’m working on that myself. Sorry about your snow. It hasn’t been cold enough here this week for snow, but we’ve been deluged with rain. The lawn is too soggy to walk on. I hope we all get better weather soon. Have a great week, and enjoy those new books!

    • Kimberly

I sat in bed or on the sofa under covers and did 2 or 3 a day every day until I was caught up. Of course, now I have two to write for the books I finished this weekend, but that I can deal with.

  18. vvb

Yay! Glad you’re much better. Brrr with your snow. We’ve been getting unusually warm weather these past couple weeks. So, not feeling the extra winter that Groundhog day predicted. Happy reading/listening!

  19. Danielle

The victory was a celebrated one here as well, although I admittedly read through the game stopping to watch commercials. I am not as big on sports as I used to be. I am thrilled to see you are on the mend. What a rough go and start to the year!

I will be trying to catch up slowly this week. I am admittedly a bit depressed at the moment so clearing my head. It will pass soon enough. Hope you stay well <3

    • Kimberly

If it’s not my team I will read, but these were our boys so we sat on the edge of seats. Is it seasonal? This time of year is hard. I know since I may only venture outside 2 or 3 times a month during the winter months.

  20. Samantha

Glad to hear you all are on the mend. I have been jealous of your snow-I saw the pictures on instagram!! But, I wouldn’t want to shovel it, so I’d probably be sick of it too!
Hope you have a great week!

  21. Jenea's Book Obsession

I am so happy to hear y’all are starting to feel somewhat better. So much snow though, jeez! We had an ice storm last Sunday night, which is something I think I hate worse than than snow. At least I can drive in snow, I’m not venturing down our mountain in ice at all! Spring is sounding pretty good right about now. Enjoy those new books Kim!

  22. Bookworm

Glad you are feeling better and yay on the Eagles winning the big game last week. I am so ready for spring too, enjoy your week ahead!

  23. Jolene

Yay for feeling better! We go lots of snow this week too. I am tired of clearing off the drive way and the next morning there is more snow!!!! Bring on spring. Happy reading.

  24. Yvonne

Congrats to the Eagles! So glad to hear you are feeling better. You’ve really been hit hard this week.. Hope you have a great week!

  25. Amy

    I’m glad you’re feeling better!

It keeps trying to snow here but it doesn’t last very long at all. I love snow though as long as I don’t have to go out in it. I’m not happy when I’m out in the cold!

    Have a lovely week 🙂

  26. Darlene

So stoked to hear that you loved Lake Silence! I’m currently catching up on the series in anticipation of reading it.

Glad to hear that you are on the mend. I can relate with winter blues. We haven’t had much snow, but it’s been bitterly cold here (-27 degrees Celsius with windchill of -37). I just can’t seem to get warm!

    Have a good week!

  27. A Voracious Reader

Yay for the Eagles and Yay for being on the mend. Also, YAY for reviews being done. I’m sure that was stressing you out. I have one left and I’ll probably write it today.

No snow here. Chilly and rainy. I’m wondering if the one storm we got will be it for us. I’d like one more nice snow to use our sleds, but I guess we’ll see. I hope you have a great week, Kim!

  28. Anna

Eww that sounds like a lot of snow! I’ve been super lucky– they keep calling for snow or ice and then as the time draws closer the prediction dwindles down until all we get is a dusting 🙂

  29. Mary

I like that you are doing audio reviews. I started getting audio books from my library a while ago then stopped. I see your doing a challenge for them. I should just pick some up again. My drive to work would help me listen to them. I was thinking of joining the TBR challenge for March. I have plenty of those. =)

  30. Nick

I’m so glad you liked Lake Silence. I should be reading it soon and I can’t wait. And aww! I’m sad that your uncle didn’t get to see his team win, but I’m sure he was there in spirit.
We thankfully weren’t hit with snow this time around, which I’m super grateful for. I’m glad you guys are on the mend!
Happy Sunday, Kim, and have a great week ahead!

  31. Lillian @ Mom with a Reading Problem

I’d take a little of your snow over our rain any day 😉 We’re currently under a flood warning and supposed to get another 1-2 inches today.
I cannot wait to read Lake Silence!! Glad to hear it was good. I’ve got an arc copy I’m hoping to read later this week (most likely next weekend).
Hope you have a fantastic week!

    • Kimberly

Floods are so not cool. One summer my husband was forced to work from home for a month because roads flooded all along his commute root. Fingers crossed for you.

  32. Kristin @ Addicted to HEA

Oooo, I should jump on Lake Silence!! I’m almost afraid to b/c I didn’t write my review for the last book in The Others and I don’t want to mess up the review, ya know, get details muddled even though it’s a whole other set of characters, blah, blah, setting record for longest run on sentence.

Yeah, we’re buried under snow, too!!! I swear, it was the same thing here, too: shovel, snow, shovel, snow, snowblow, snow, plow goes down road finally, dig out end of driveway, snow… it’s freaking snowing right now!! But “only” 2-4 inches of ICEY snow 😀 I’m sitting on my ass, working on the computer, and going nowhere.

    Glad you’re feeling better!!! xoxoxoxox

  33. Michelle @Because Reading

I think you guys meet the quota for being sick! 🙂 I am glad you are all feeling better!
We got no snow but lots of rain, I am sort of ok with that but the sky the last few days has been so depressing.

I hope this week is awesome for you Kim! Happy Reading! ox

  34. Vi @Inkvotary

Glad to hear that you all are on the way to recovery. I don´t know that series, but it sounds very good to me that you can enjoy your books again. Have a wonderful week.

    Best wishes
    Vi @Inkvotary

  35. Chrissy

I’m so happy that you are feeling better and that you were able to get caught up on stuff!!! Keep resting!

    Have a wonderful week!

  36. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Glad to hear you guys are on the mend! I can imagine you’re tired of being sick already and we’re only two months into the year!

Nice new reads! I’m still waiting on my copy of Lake Silence to arrive! I finally got caught up with The Others series so hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze that one in sooner rather than later whenever it does arrive! Hope you enjoy your other new reads too!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  37. Kari @ Kari Reads and Writes

Good to hear that your family is finally on the mend after all the illness in your house!

I love that Kelley Armstrong series and enjoyed that book, and look forward to Bishop’s Lake Silence but I have to read the title before it first.

Hope this week goes well for you, with your blogging, reading, and health!

  38. Jan

I’m glad you all are feeling better, Kimberly. I’m jealous you’ve already listened to Lake Silence. I’ve preordered the audio versions of both Lake Silence and Patricia Briggs’ Burn Bright. Really looking forward to them.

I hope you have a great week!

    • Kimberly

I am listening to Burn Bright, although I have already read the ARC, it is so good! I preorder my Audible version of Lake Silence and the hardcover edition.

  39. Karen Blue

I am so happy to hear you guys are feeling better. We had an outbreak at work and they had to put all the employees in Tamiflu. It is so bad this year.
I guess the win was bittersweet. I’m sure he saw it from somewhere, his team won.
I hope you have a great week!

    • Kimberly

Seriously, we got our flu shots in October. A lot of good that did us. Yikes, if I didn’t have symptoms there is no way I would take Tamiflu.

  40. Tânia @MyLovelySecret

Congratulations on the victory of your team. 🙂 The Others is one of my favourite series, but I’m a book behind. I hope I can catch up before Lake Silence is released – or has it already been? It is only in March, right? Gosh, I need to catch up with these releases.

    Happy readings! 😉

  41. Daniela Ark

the pats lost [sobs] Sorry that your uncle didn’t get to see his favorite team win 🙁 These special occasions always remind us of the loved ones that are not with us anymore. Glad to hear you are napping . Naps are the best way to reign your strength after been sick so long. Thank you for visiting!

  42. Suzanne

I’m glad to hear you guys are starting to feel better! The Super Bowl was such a great game this year and I was thrilled to see the Eagles beat the Pats.

I’ll be looking forward to your review of The Lucky Ones too. I’ve been thinking of adding that one to my TBR so can’t wait to see what you thought of it.

And OMG, yes. I wish one of my personalities loved to clean as well, lol. Have a great week!

    • Kimberly

Go Eagles! I wish Brownies were real, I would leave them tea and cookies every night if they cleaned while I slept.

  43. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

I got approved for Lake Silence this past week and am ridiculously excited to start reading. I love The Others series. Actually, I’ve listened to the entire series on audio and have never actually read a physical copy of the books. Silly me didn’t think about that when I requested the arc. I’ll have to try to figure out how/where to request the audio version next time!

    • Kimberly

Tanya, I request the arc every time even though I know I will listen first. I use it to cross reference spelling etc since I listen in advance of publication. Since we are at a new development I actually listened and followed along with the arc. Send me your email address and blog info and I will forward your info to the audio publicist.

  44. Mandy Sickle

Glad to hear you are all feeling better. I feel like everyone has been sick a bunch this year. We aren’t Pat’s fans so of course, we are cheering on the Eagles. I hate getting behind on reviews it always stresses me out a little so I know how nice it is to be all caught up. One of these days I’m going to get on the audio book bandwagon. Have a great week and happy reading.

    • Kimberly

Yes, I never have more than one or two to write since I am anal, but the dreaded illnesses of January had me building them up. It felt good to knock them out. I did 3 or so a day.

  45. Christine @Buckling Bookshelves

Glad you’re feeling better! And yup, definitely hitting that winter burnout point! I love have different seasons, but by February, the cold (and if there’s a lot of snow) does start to feel a bit endless!

  46. Natalie @Natflix&Books

Yay for the Eagles! I’m hoping it’s the only time I ever have to cheer for them, but anyone is better than the Patriots. Lol. Glad you are on the mend, and I’m so with you on spring. Happy reading!

  47. Lola

I am glad to hear you’re all on the mend now. We also had some colder days this week suddenly, but no snow here, only a little bit of wet snow that disappeared as soon as it hit the ground. I still have to start the Others series, but I have book 1 on my shelf. Have a great week!

  48. Rachel

How wonderful about seeing your team win, even if it was a bit bittersweet. That’s a great haul this week!

  49. Cai

I wished one of my personalities loved to clean! Thankfully the hubby likes to clean. Glad to see your feeling better!

  50. Chloe

Yay for catching up on your reviews. I’ve suddenly come down with a sore throat which I’m impressed with, I’m hoping it stays a sore throat and doesn’t turn into a cold. 🙂

  51. Trish @ Between My Lines

Delighted you are finally feeling better again. You had a bad run of it. My husband was very excited about The Eagles win but I have no clue about American Football, so I just nod my head and agree that it’s great!

    • Kimberly

We have been living and breathing it for a week. I enjoy all sports but don’t get upset if a social event interferes with a hubby however dies.

  52. Sam@WLABB

Yeah! Glad you are feeling better. OMG! Snow every day would make me cry. It has been raining here for two days. We are fortunate it isn’t a little colder or we’d have the white stuff too. I work near Philly, so my co-workers were really happy about the Eagles. We had jersey’s and jeans on Thursday and three of my teammates even went to the parade. I think I know the songs after hearing it over and over again as they streamed the parade. lol.

  53. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews

I’m so happy you guys are both doing better! And I totally get that you’re sick of the snow. It’s snowed on and off here this week, but never enough to actually stick to the ground, which is just fine with me.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, keep getting healthy, and happy reading.

  54. Evelina

I’m glad you’re on the mend! We have loads and loads of snow too, and it’s pretty cold. I can’t wait till its spring though… winter is just so tiring.

  55. Christy LoveOfBooks

Glad you’re on the mend, my dear. The Eagles aren’t my team, but I was sure happy they took the Patriots down. I’m reading Lake Silence now … so good! Have a great week.

    • Kimberly

Yeah, we found a lot of people rooting for our guys because they hate the Patriots. Yes, I was very happy with Lake Silence. and cannot wait for the next book.

  56. Tressa @ Wishful Endings

So, so happy to hear you guys are finally on the mend!!! It’s been so warm here that snow sounds nice. Lol! Hopefully you get warmer and we get cooler. Have a fabulous week!

  57. Jackie Briere

Hi Kim, Lake Silence sounds good. But I look forward to more snow and winter fun, although it has been really cold lately yet I love the snow. Anyway, I am happy to hear you’re all doing better and enjoying The Others series I haven’t heard of before.

  58. Cricket

I’m glad you’re feeling better. No snow here just rainy these past few days and a lot of hot one day and cold the next. I’ve never heard of the Others series, so I’m going to have to check it out. Have a great week.

  59. Michelle Gilmore

I’m glad you are on the mend! I really need to try out The Others series, I have the first one on audio. I just haven’t made time for it.
I am ready for summer. Spring down here means tornados. We were rumored to get snow last week, instead, we ended up with a high of 65 and a tornado warning. So I imagine true spring will be a nightmare.

I hope you have a great week this week!

    • Kimberly

Yay, I am glad you chose audio. Harris is fantastic Michelle. It feels good to breathe without wheezing. We get tornados too but I love the freshness of Spring.

  60. Maree

I’m glad you’re feeling better. I need to catch up on The Others – I’m up to book five, I think. Have a great week!

  61. Laura Thomas

It’s great to hear everyone is feeling better. We have got as much rain as you have snow! It hasn’t stopped all day and still going strong. I love that random quote. So me. LOL

  62. Greg

I was pretty happy with that Eagles win! And it’s been the same way here- school was called off Friday and we got MORE snow. So over it!

    Lake Silence looks so good.

    • Kimberly

We are from South Jersey and grew up on the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers, so it’s been a jubilant time here. We spent the morning digging out and right now it is snowing. We can no longer see the driveway and sidewalks. UGH!

  63. Anna @ Adventures with a Book Nerd

I’m happy that you got to see your team win at the Superbowl, even if it brought along bitter sweet memories. I’m glad that you’re starting to feel better, and I could not agree more: avoid. all. germs. lol Have a good week! 🙂

  64. Literary Feline

I seem to have the worst luck with links lately. The first one is the wrong one. 🙁 I don’t know if there’s a way you can delete it, Kim. I’m so glad you loved Lake Silence. I look forward to reading that one at some point. I hope everyone is feeling better. You’ve had such rotten luck health wise in recent weeks. I wish one of my personalities liked to clean as well. *sigh* Oh well. 🙂 Have a great week, Kim!

    • Kimberly

I fixed it for you. Yes, January was just a nasty month here at Casa de Costa. LOL. Hopefully, the rest of the year I’ll be healthy.

  65. Mallory

So glad you’re feeling better (and that your Egals won!). Really excited for your reviews next week – I think every one of those is on my TBR list. Will have to make sure I pick-them up before the March TBR challenge … I really need to link-up with that one. I may or may not have developed a tiny Barnes & Noble addiction this year 🙂

  66. Laurel-Rain Snow

I’m glad you are feeling better!

I love that “totally random” meme. I wish one of my personalities liked to clean, too. LOL.

    Enjoy your books!
