Bwahaha *cries* Hubby and I were diagnosed with Type A Flu on Tuesday and hubby now has pneumonia. My lungs are sounding better and the worse of the flu symptoms are gone. Not gonna lie, I am tired. I am doing want I can, but also resting a lot. I did try to comment and visit this week. Be patient with me.  Can we get a do-over for January?  I did manage to read/listened to 29 books in January. I have 25 reviews to write and have taken my computer to bed to write them. Today we celebrate my son’s twenty-fifth birthday as we root our Eagles to victory in the Superbowl. We will be doing it in our pajamas!   Stay Caffeinated.

Oh, wow, you have been through the wringer! Hopefully you are finally on the mend.

I would love to get my hands on The Family Gathering. Try to enjoy it!

  2. Greg

Yup I’m rooting for the Eagles! 🙂 And wow you guys have been through the ringer, sounds like. Hope everyone is feeling better soon. Pneumonia- yikes.

Happy birthday to your son. Have a great week Kimba!! 🙂

  3. Literary Feline

Happy Birthday to your son! I feel so bad for you and your husband. I hope you are both feeling all better soon. Those flu strains this year are just plain evil. We’ve had several deaths throughout our county related to it. It’s just terrible. I am glad you were able to read quite a bit. I don’t have a lot of luck reading when I’m sick like that, I’m afraid. No Super Bowl for us tomorrow, but I hope you enjoy it! Have a great week, Kim!

  4. Kristin @ Addicted to HEA

Awwww!! Happy Birthday to “junior”!!!!! Are you doing ice cream cake again!! That would feel so good on your throats and bellies, that’s for sure!!!

Oh my, hubs sounds worse than you!! How’d that happen?!?!?! I know it’s all relative but I’m serious about the hamster ball. I’m still trying to figure out how to install the sani-wipes holder inside of it. xoxoxoxoxo

  5. Kimberly @ Turning the Pages

I hope both you and your hubby feels better soon. Dad had double lung pneumonia and influenza A last month and brother got pneumonia afterwards where as I had the influenza. It’s a tough season all around. Take it easy the blog world will be here when you feel better!

  6. Siran

I actually don’t know who to cheer on this year.

Hope the of you get better soon. I’m sure you will.

  7. Mallory

Your Egals are playing in my backyard tomorrow! We’re close enough that we can hear their (victory?) fireworks going off from inside our house. We were downtown last weekend and it was really fun to see all of the festivities, plus we’re seeing the Eagles ALL over the news here 🙂 Have fun watching the game tomorrow and hope you feel better soon!!!

(Oh and I need your March TBR challenge like no body’s business. I developed a “terrible” Barnes and Noble habit this past month….)

  8. Michelle Gilmore

Go sportsball team! I’m not much of a sports person, but I do know I’m sick of hearing about the Patriots every year, lol. So I hope the Eagles win.
I hope your hubby feels better soon and that it doesn’t get any worse for either of you. it’s been a very rough flu season. I had a friend with Type B flu, he was delirious for a day or so because of his fever.

  9. Sam@WLABB

Hey! We had our children on the same day. It’s my daughter’s 23rd birthday, but she is 8 hours away, so no celebrating (except in spirit). I am so sorry the flu got you and your husband. It’s the worst! The problem with getting through so many books is all the reviews. Here’s wishing you a speedy recovery.

  10. Natalie @Natflix&Books

The Eagles aren’t my team, but I’m definitely hoping they can pull it off. Sorry to hear you are STILL under the weather. 2018 has been rough on you so far. Happy reading!

  11. Karen Blue

I am so glad to hear you are feeling better! I live in Patriot country and everyone here is rooting for them. I am not even a fan tbh. We won’t have the game on at my house.
So sorry to hear you have 25 reviews to write, but WOW! That is a lot of reading (or listening).
I hope next week is a much healthier one for you and your husband.

  12. Emma

Flu is such a horrible thing. The fact that you kept going through it is amazing. Keep getter better x

  13. Cahleen

Wow, 29 books! Is this what I get to look forward to for when my kids turn 25?? Hope you feel better soon.

  14. Evelina @ AvalinahsBooks

Oh my gosh, it WAS flu… Well, at least now you know. This sounds so tiring 🙁 it’s been a tough month. Please recover and take time to heal, don’t tire yourself out with the comments!

  15. Lola

Sorry to hear both you and your hubby got diagnosed with the flu. I hope you both feel better soon. I hope you can get lots of rest. That is nice you got so much reading done. Have a great week!

  16. RO

My goodness you sure have been going through it, but despite being so tired, I’m thrilled that you’re starting to feel better. Also sending some healing hugs out to hubby that his pneumonia clears up soon. Best thing for everyone – tea, coffee, soup, books and lots of television. Hope your team wins. I’ll be watching the game as well! Hugs…RO

  17. Nina

I hate getting sick, especially with the flu! Rest a lot and drink lots of tea. Green tea! 🙂

  18. Angela Adams

That “Flu Bug” really loves you and your hubby! Rest with lots of fluids, and Spring will be here soon! “Go,, Eagles!”

  19. Michelle @Because Reading

Ugh! You poor woman! Does this mean since you have had everything, you will be good for the rest of the year? I am hoping so! It’s like you get the entire illness season out in one month. Feel Better!
Lots of books read is a good way to get lots of rest.
I hope this week is amazing for you! Happy Reading! ox

  20. Lynn

Sorry to hear you have been ill! I hope you’ll get better soon! I hope to read some Mark Lawrence this year! I’ve heard great things!

  21. Kari @ Kari Reads and Writes

Ugh, no! So sorry for both of you! This winter has been horrible for flu outbreaks, despite many folks getting the flu shot offered. Not always the same strain, though.

Happy birthday to your “big” boy! He gets a Super Bowl game, with his preferred team, as a gift 🙂

  22. Melanie Simmons

The flu seems to have gotten a lot of people this year. My FIL had it. I’m glad you’re feeling a little bit better. Every little bit helps. I hope you February is better than January.

  23. Yvonne

I’m so sorry to hear how sick you both are. The flu has been a big concern this year. I do hope you will start feeling better soon. Despite how sick you were in January, you still read and/or listened to many books. 29 is a great number.

    Happy Birthday to your son!

    Take care of yourselves.

  24. Maureen Bakker

Yikes. Sorry to hear about the flu. You guys have had a rough start of the year. I hope you both start feeling better soon.
25 reviews to write? Wow! But if anyone can do it, it’s you my friend. 😉 Good luck.
And Happy Birthday to your son.
    Happy Reading!

  25. Jennifer | Book Den

Wow, you are having such a rough time of it! I hope you guys get plenty of rest and get well soon! I’ve had the flu turn into pneumonia before, and it was not fun.

  26. Bookworm

Oh wow, I hope you guys continue to get better, that’s rough! Happy birthday to your son and enjoy the game!

  27. Sophie

I’m sorry you are ill! But 29 books!!! Seriously? How are you doing it? Now happy birthday to your son! My husband had his birthday this week too. This is my first Sunday Post and I hope not the last one!

  28. Nick

Oh jeez! Cannot believe how irritating this flu has been for you. I’m glad that you are resting and taking care of yourself though. You definitely need it. Happy Birthday to your son!
Good luck with writing those reviews, Kim!

  29. Suzanne

The flu has just been such a nightmare this year. I hope both you and the hubby are back on your feet soon. Good luck to your Eagles!. I’m usually a Panthers fan but will be rooting for the Eagles right alongside you tonight.

  30. Darlene

Oh, no! I’m glad you are improving. I can’t believe you still read almost a book a day while sick!! Take it easy

  31. Deb Nance at Readerbuzz

The flu is so nasty this year. Let’s hope you both recover quickly.

And here’s to your Eagles! I hope they beat that other team (whoever they are…sorry…I spend too much time reading, according to my family, and don’t keep up with sports).

  32. Jan

Kimberly, I am so sorry you and your husband both have the flu and that your husband has pneumonia , too. I hope you get better very soon. I think everyone will understand if you don’t comment as much.

Happy Birthday to your son. And go Eagles!

  33. Samantha

Oh no!! The flu is terrible! You have had such bad luck this month. Hopefully February is better. Sadly, I am hoping your Eagles lose though 😉

  34. A Voracious Reader

I will continue the {{{posivibe}}} stream. Take your time getting things done. You really don’t want to risk a relapse. I would also like a do over for January. What a shitty way to start a new year. We will also be cheering for the Eagles (only because we hate the Patriots lol) and will be in our jammies, too! I hope you and the Mr have a better week, Kim!

  35. Sophia Rose

Happy birthday to your son and do enjoy your Superbowl pj party. And rooting you on for your review writing marathon. 🙂 Feel better wishes to you both.

    Oh nice! Grey sister.

  36. Danielle

Ugh, I was afraid it was Flu after all you have been through. At least with the diagnosis, they can focus on proper care. I am happy it sounds like you are on the mend some? You still knocked it out of the park in January! And I see you have Grey Sister coming up. I hope it does not disappoint. I was going to try to snag a copy, but honestly my pile it too big 🙁 Hope to see that you are on your feet soon! – xx

  37. S. J. Pajonas

Ugh, I’m so sorry to hear that you got Type A flu. My husband had it earlier in January and he was so miserable. Me and the kids got Type B this past week, which is not much better but mostly fevers. Still sucks all around. Get some rest!

  38. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

I will also be watching the Super Bowl in my pajamas though I don’t have the excuse of the flu! I’m sorry that both you and Mr. Caffeinated have managed to catch the flu! I hope that it goes away very soon. You’ve had a rough month! Happy 25th birthday to your son. Have a great week!

  39. Charlie

The flu is pure misery this year. I’m sorry you both got the worst strain. I hope the meds help you get on the mend quickly. I’ve been under the weather, too. I think it will develop into an upper respiratory infection and ear infection. I am not a football fan, and neither is The Man. I get to spend the day slurping soup and sucking on cough drops while watching what I want. Happy birthday to your son! Hope you guys enjoy the game.

  40. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

Flu too? Oh, no! I’m so sorry. You didn’t need that on top of everything else you’ve been dealing with. I hope you and your husband get over your illnesses soon. [Note to self: go get flu shot!] Rest up as much as you can and don’t worry too much about the blog. Your health and recovery are more important. We’ll all be here when you get back!

I liked The Family Gathering; I hope you’ll enjoy it too.

  41. Jennifer

January has sucked for you (health wise). Hope you guys getting to feeling better soon!

  42. Chrissy

I’m so sorry you guys have the flu and that your husband has pneumonia! =( Get some rest!

    Go Eagles!!!!

  43. Stefanie

Oh crap. I hope there are meds to help combat that flu for you and your husband. Pls don’t hesitate to bug your doctor as you’ve been sick for so long. These look like some great titles. Off to check them out.

  44. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

Oh no, sorry to hear it’s the flu! And your poor husband got a double whammy. Best thing you can do is not push yourself. Good for you for getting lots of rest. I’ll be rooting for the Eagles as well. Sure hope they can pull off a win! I ordered Tides of Honour after seeing your review and my copy has already been shipped, Can’t wait to read it!

  45. Anna

Yikes! This had been such a bad flu season for everyone– I hope you feel better soon. I’m very impressed with your reading/listening numbers– I think I read…maybe 2 books this January? 😉

  46. Cricket

I think everyone is having a hard time with this flu season and I hope you get to feeling better soon. I’ve read a few books by Genevieve Graham and want to read Tides of Honour as well.

  47. Naomi Hop

Oh wow! That really sucks… I hope you all get better quickly. Although I do like the idea of watching the Superbowl in your PJ’s! I might do that too, for the hell of it!

  48. Barbara Strickland

Thoughts with you. You do a great job considering how eventful your life has been these last weeks. I hope your son had a wonderful birthday, your team won (aussie here and not always a sports fan but appreciate others and their enthusiasm), hubby is getting better, and that you continue with that wonderful attitude that flows into your writing and every comment as you bounce back in health. .

  49. Melissa (My World...in words and pages)

Oh my goodness! Do take care of your selves. I feel bad for you all.

  50. Joanne

I’ve been hearing how rough the flu season in the US has been on the news. Take care of each other. Feel better.

  53. Laura@Library of Clean Reads

Oh my! Your family is just not getting a break from being sick. I feel so bad for the both of you. I hope you recover fully soon enough. I still can’t believe you read (listened to) 29 books!

  54. MarthaE

So sorry you have suffered with the flu. Hope your hubby and you are better soon – get lots of rest. 29 books in January was really good!
Hope this week is good. Happy Reading!

  55. Vi @Inkvotary

Oh dear, the flu – that´s no fun at all. Wishing you and your hubs all the best and get well soon. I am only three reviews behind that I have to write, so I guess I have no reason to complain, compared to your 25. Wow …

    All the best from Germany,
    Vi @Inkvotary

Holy cow, 29 books?! That’s amazing. #readinggoals I’m so sorry both of you have the flu. I hope the Eagles winning made you feel a little better. I was so happy. I did my ortho and perio at the University of Penn. I became a huge Eagles fan when I lived there.

  61. Lorna

Super rough January! Here’s to a much better rest of February! I was so happy about the Philly’s winning!(trying to see how many exclamations I can use..j/k) I can’t imagine having to write 25 reviews, lately I have problems making myself sit down to write one. Hope you have a better week than last.
