Sunday Post

Between Christmas and New Years I had a viral infection that left me with a mild cold, but by Wednesday it had morphed into something nasty. On Friday, Mr. Caffeinated dragged me to the doctor’s office and I am being treated for an upper respiratory infection, sinusitis and ear infections. Oh, the joy! I haven’t been able to read, but have been devouring the Iron Druid series on audio.  I am really hoping that this third-day on antibiotics will alleviate some of the dizziness and excessive coughing. At least enough to let me read or sit at the computer for more than a few minutes without feeling horrible. Is it Spring yet? Thankfully our temps are back in the twenties, but we have a snow storm heading our way Wednesday.  Stay Caffeinated and Happy New Year!

  1. Geybie’s Book Blog

Oh so sorry to hear that. I hope you’re getting better soon, Kim. I’m feeling a little bit under weather myself. Have a wonderful week. I hope you enjoy your books this week. #hugs ❤️

  2. Laurel-Rain Snow

I hope you feel better soon! Illness sucks…and especially if it is so bad that you can’t enjoy reading.

I loved White Bodies…hope you do, too.

  3. Literary Feline

I am so sorry you’ve been so sick! I hope you are feeling better soon, Kim. Death Below Stairs was my final book of 2017. I haven’t yet posted my review, but I really enjoyed it. Good luck with the audio challenge! I hope you have a great week!

  4. Greg

Looks like I double linked again- sorry. 🙁

Hope you feel better soon! Sounds awful. And yes this winter is getting to be really irritating lol. And we’re only in early January yet. *sigh* Hope this week is a better one for you. stay warm!!

  5. Laura Thomas

Oh gosh, Kim. I’m sorry you feel so poorly and I hope the medicine works quickly so you feel better.
    Love that gif! LOL

  6. Tressa @ Wishful Endings

I’m so sorry! I had the flu and am still recovering, but today I feel like I”m getting a sinus infection. It’s so frustrating after already going through the flu over Christmas! I can definitely relate – including it being tough to read. I hope you do get better soon!

  7. Mallory

I hope you feel better soon, Kim! I absolutely hate being on antibiotics – they always make me feel out of sorts and even more crummy than when I started 😛 Good luck with the snow storm! Hopefully it isn’t anything too terrible 🙂

  8. Michelle Gilmore

I really hope you feel better soon! Antibiotics are awful. I always feel worse after I use them. Here’s hoping the snow storm is easily managed!

  9. Sam@WLABB

Oh no! That sounds horrible. I hope those antibiotics kick in and alleviate your discomfort. Feel Better! And I hope you don’t get too much snow. I am NOT a fan of the white stuff.

  10. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews

Feel better, Kim! I’m glad Mr. Caffeinated took you to the doctor so you can heal better.

I’m glad the weather has been milder, and hope the snow storm will be minor. I already miss Hawaii… it’s not exactly cold here, but it’s gray and dreary 🙁

Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading / listening. I’m trying to get the iron druid series in audio as well, but I want the narration with Luke, not the other fellow, as reviews were more favorable for Luke. For the time being, I can’t manage to get those added to my library, but I’ll persist.

  11. Evelina

Oh my gosh! Hope you are feeling better soon. THIS is why I hate the winter, actually… hope you get better health as well as better weather soon!!

  12. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

Oh no! Sorry you’ve been knocked down so hard, Kim. Those respiratory infections (plus a sinus infection) can make you feel so miserable. I hope those antibiotics are kicking in and you start feeling some relief soon! Take it easy on yourself in the meantime. Love your random this week! 🙂

  13. Maureen Bakker

Yikes.. That’s not a great start of the year. I hope you start feeling better soon and are able to read again. Still.. Happy New Year Kimberly! 😉

  14. Trish @ Between My Lines

Ouch, a triple dose of misery. Hope you feel better soon Kim. I love audiobooks when I’m ill, so easy to just close your eyes and drift away in the book. And I hope the snow storm won’t be too bad.

  15. sjhigbee

So sorry to hear that you are smitten! It sounds horrible – thank goodness for audiobooks! Wishing you well as soon as possible and that snow storm maybe misses you… xxx

  16. Lola

Ouch that sounds painful. Sorry to hear you started the new year with being sick. Nice you were able to listen to some audio books. I hope this week will be a better one for you!

  17. Christine @Buckling Bookshelves

Hope you are feeling better soon! 20s would feel like a heat wave in our neck of the woods too! I think we’re finally getting a break from the bitter cold tomorrow — woo hoo! Stay warm 🙂

  18. Melanie Simmons

I’m sorry that you’re not feeling well. I’m glad you finally got to the doctor got you some antibiotics. I’m all for my body working its way through sickness, but sometimes you just have some help. I hope that they are starting to work very soon.

  19. Kristin @ Addicted to HEA

You mean you haven’t perfected the art of “the pit”? The one spot on the couch that is yours and yours alone that is sunken in to the size of your butt and has an outlet for your computer so you can relax with the computer on your lap, watch tv, and sip caffeination heaven whilst “working” on said computer??? Pishaaaaw.

I don’t believe the workaholic you are for one minute that you don’t. Now get better or I’m sending you some codeine-laced cough medicine from north of the border (shhhhh or my hubs will arrest me!). xoxoxoxoxo

  20. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Ugh. Sorry to hear about that Kim! Nothing worse than being too sick to read or enjoy reading! I don’t mind colder temperatures but man I wish it was at least above freezing! All these single digit temps are driving me mad! It’s soooo frigid and I can’t seem to get warm when I’m at work! Brr!

Hope you feel better and enjoy your newest read when you get to it!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  21. Jolene @ JO's BOok BLog

Feel better soon! Hopefully the rest of winter won’t be so cold! I am glad you get to still listen to books via audio. That is something I need to start doing.

  22. Andreea

I hope you will feel better soon and that you will finally be able to read again. But enjoy all the audiobooks – this way you can work on the Audiobook Challenge!

  23. Darlene

Sorry to hear that you are under the weather…again! The kids & I have managed to stay healthy, but school starts tomorrow and no doubt the bad germs will be flying around! Hope you are feeling better soon!

White Bodies was my first read of 2018! I really enjoyed it. Definitely twisted!!

  24. Amy

Oh no! Ear infections and sinusitis are bad enough on their own and I can’t imagine how it feels to have both combined with respiratory infection. I really hope that you feel better soon.

  25. Trin Carl

Illness does suck. I can’t tell you how helpful your blog hop has been in helping me get open with my readers.

  26. Daniela Ark

ugh those holiday aftermath bugs! I think all the stress just weakens immune systems! Three infections your poor thing! I hope you feel better soon! Laid back, rest and listen to some books 🙂

  27. Suzanne Yester

Hope you feel better soon! I spent the first week of the new year sick and in bed too! And it was my first week of retirement! Thought I’d be doing all sorts of wonderful things, but was sick and the tempts in Connecticut have been in the single digits during the day and -10 or so at night, which is really unusual..

  28. Samantha

I am so sorry you are sick!! Hopefully you get better soon. It seems like everyone is getting sick this year! There are certainly lots of germs and viruses going around. You would think that as cold as it is it would kill them but apparently now!
Hope this week is better for you!

  29. Nick

Oh boy! Being sick in this weather too is just awful. I hope those medications help you feel better, Kim. And definitely keep warm and drink lots of tea. Take care!

  30. Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Oh no, that’s horrible. Talk about triple whammy! Glad you can find joy in audios, I wouldn’t be able to read or do much either. Hope you feel better soon Kimba!

  31. LORI CASWELL

I sure hope you feel better soon. This is the first time in a long time January has not brought a bug to our house. I just hope I didn’t jinx us 🙂

  32. A Voracious Reader

I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling like crap, but thank goodness for audios, right? I’ll throw some {{{posivibes}}} your way in hopes they’ll knock the shit out of that ick. Stay warm!

  33. Karen Blue

I hope you feel better soon Kimberly! It is bitter cold here at the moment. At 11am it is still on 1° and there is wind. Brrrr! Stay warm and happy reading!

  34. Tina

I hope you feel better! I’m definitely counting down for Spring. I’m over this crazy weather.

  35. Lily

sorry you have not been feeling well Kim 🙁 know the feeling, hopefully I can avoid antibiotics. Hope you feel better soon, at least you got the audiobooks, it’s nice to give your eyes a break

  36. Danielle

That is just terrible! I really do hope you get some relief soon. Will be keeping you in my thoughts! – xx

  37. Laura@Library of Clean Reads

Oh, you poor thing! Thank goodness you can at least listen to audio. Being sick is no fun. It’s been deadly cold here in Quebec. Yeah, is it spring yet, is what I want to know too. Hope you feel better soon. Keep warm!

  38. Lorna

That kind of crud is the worse! I hope you feel better soon. Are the Royals sick as well? Hope your husband stays well!
On another note, your Random made me laugh out loud. Love it!

  39. Tabatha @Chaotic Clarity

So sorry you have not been feeling well! I do hope you get to feeling better soon! I work as an MA at a medical office and it seems like this is just hitting everyone pretty hard! 🙁

  40. Anna

Yikes! I hope you are feeling better! I had a friend who adored the Iron Druid series– I tried book one years ago and just never really got into it.

  41. Sophia Rose

Ugh! I had that early in December and I thought the ear infection was the worst of it b/c of that pain and dizziness. Hope the antibiotics give it the boot for you. Yeah for audio books and a slight warm up.

    Feel better, Kimberly!

  42. Angela @ Angel's Guilty Pleasures

Oh my!! I hope you feel better. My hubby and son rang in the New Year sick and on the second day of the New Year I cut my thumb and had to get stickies. Other then that we are great! I’m glad the Holidays are over and my son goes back to school on the 9th. I can’t wait. I miss my reading time. Well Happy New Year and stay warm.

  43. Charlie

I’m so sorry you’re so sick. There are so many people who got the flu over Christmas or some other nasty bug. I hope the biotics kick in and start working their magic soon!

  44. ShootingStarsMag

Omg, I love that totally random. Too great!!!

I’m so sorry you’re sick though. Even worse that you can’t read!! I hope you feel better soon.

  45. Nise'

We were so excited to get to 28! It has been 26 days of below 20 degrees. I hope you are feeling better quickly, being dizzy is the worst. So glad audio was there for you!

  46. MarthaE

Oh – so sorry to hear about your illness. My hubby got an infection during the holiday cold weather too. I do hope the antibiotics work for you.
Your reading/listening sounds good, I hope your 2018 gets better from here.
    Happy Reading!

  47. Nadene

Sorry to hear you have not been well. I can imagine how miserable and uncomfortable you must have been
    Get well soon.

  48. Tyler H. Jolley

Dang, Kimba, that’s a sucky way to start the year. I hope you are feeling better. Your dedication, still listening to audio books while fighting this, is so awesome. How much snow are you supposed to get?

  49. S. J. Pajonas

Oh man. I hope you feel better soon! I just got through my second sinus infection of the season and I hope I’m done with this for good. I hate being sick, so I know how you feel.
