Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

I am still incredibly weak/tired and still have upper respiratory issues but my cough has finally broken and the wheezing has decreased. Despite wanting to do things, I am still forced to rest quite frequently as activity causes me to heat up and cough uncontrollably. I have damaged my vocal cord and sound super sexy! *winks* Today is my last day of treatment so fingers crossed I continue to see improvement and don’t relapse like last time. I do have a follow up with Doctor on the 2nd of February.  My oldest came and cleaned my home for me, and I am so grateful. The Royal Princess turned three on Friday. She is such a sweetie and cake was enjoyed by all. A special thank you to my daughter for bringing the party to us. I am continuing my audio binge but did manage to complete a physical book. Go Me! Guys, I have so many reviews to write, it is actually scary. I took notes on napkins, and scraps of paper. Stay Caffeinated.

Oh, I hope you take all the time you need to rest and recover. Enjoy your books, and I love the Princess with her cake.

    Thanks for hosting…and for sharing.

  2. Natalie @Natflix&Books

I’m happy to hear you’re starting to feel a bit better. I was worried about you. Happy birthday to the princess, and I hope you continue to feel better. Happy reading!

  3. Geybie’s Book Blog

Glad to hear you’re getting better, Kim. I hope you will be fully recovered soon, my friend. Anyway, happy birthday to the royal princess. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time. Have a wonderful reading week and happy reading. ❤️

  4. Anne @ The Reading Life

Awwww! Is your royal princess your granddaughter? She is so cute.

I can’t believe you still haven’t gotten better since since the last time I’ve been here. Damn. I know how the overwhelming amount of ARCs can stress people out, but please remember to take care of yourself.

    • Kimberly

Hi Anne, Yes the Royal Princess is my granddaughter. I have been ill all month and listened to 27 audiobooks thus far since I am bedridden… I am not overly worried but tend to be very anal and never have more than 3 reviews to write at any given time. I took notes something I never do, so I should be fine. I am not pushing myself just yet. Instead, I am curled up with a good book and napping the day away.

  5. Literary Feline

I think I put in the right link this time. I felt bad last week, having put in the wrong one. I am sorry to hear you are still feeling sickly, Kim. It’s just awful, this virus going around. I hope you are feeling completely better soon. I am so glad your family has been there for you. It can’t be easy for you. Happy Birthday to the Royal Princess. Three is such a great age. 🙂 Take care of yourself!

  6. Christina T

I hope you continue to see improvements and get better every day with no relapse.

    Happy birthday to your granddaughter!

  7. Kristin @ Addicted to HEA

You ALWAYS had the “sexy” voice thing. I’m not sure anyone can handle more of that from you!!! And no, I’m not trying to be pervy… I just am 😛

Don’t sweat the reviews, you’ll get them done eventually. What I do to refresh myself when my notes suck is to re-read (or listen in your case) to the end and then skim around a bit. The story comes back surprisingly well when you read the ending again. That’s one positive about eBooks… highlighting like a fiend 🙂

Hang in there, girl. You’re still in my thoughts. HUG!!

  8. Tressa @ Wishful Endings

Promises to Keep looks interesting. I’m so glad you’re finally getting a little better. I hope this week shows more improvement. I’m sure you’re so sick of being sick! Good thing your family is close too!

  9. Mallory

I have to check out the Pierce Brown article – I just picked up the first book tonight and am soo looking forward to it! I also read “Most Likely to Score” the other week, the dialogue was great and I can see it being an awesome audiobook.

Happy to hear you’re finally on the mend! 🙂 Good luck with your review back-log!

  10. Greg

Aw glad you’re feeling better, slowly but surely. Hang in there and stay warm! Happy birthday to the princess. 🙂

Have a super week, get well and hopefully by next time you’re feeling a LOT better!!!

  11. Laura Thomas

Your Royal Princess looks adorable and how wonderful that they brought the party to you and cleaned your house! Take care of yourself and get well soon, Kim:)

  12. Michelle Gilmore

I’m glad you are feeling a bit better! I hope you continue to do so. And happy belated birthday to the princess!

I’ll have to see if I can get google play on my phone, I love cheap audios but only if they are convenient, lol.

  13. Sam@WLABB

So sorry to hear you are still unwell. Sending lots of healing vibes your way. That was very sweet of your daughter to clean you home (you raised her well). The princess is absolutely precious! Fell better (and try not to think of all those reviews)!

  14. Emma Littlefield

Glad you’re feeling better and long may it continue. Lovely of your daughter to come and clean for you. That must have made a huge difference.

  15. Siran

Everyone seems to be sick. I am sure you will get better very soon.

I have to take notes for my reviews too.

  16. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews

I’m glad you’re finally feeling better, Kim! And I send you all the vibes for a continued recovery once you stop your treatment.
I can’t believe the royal princess is three already! She’s the cutest, and I’m glad you were able to celebrate with her 🙂
Have a wonderful week ahead, keep improving your health, and happy review-writing, you sexy thing 😉

  17. Jovita

Sorry to hear that you still not feeling well. Hopefully you’ll get your strength back and still keep your ‘sexy voice’ 😉

  18. Jenea's Book Obsession

    You and you sexy voice! I’m happy to hear that are feeling even a little bit better but I hope you kick this awful thing soon. Don’t worry bout that reviews, you’ll get them done.. {Hugs}

    Happy birthday to your granddaughter!!!

  19. Kari @ Kari Reads and Writes

Ah, what a beautiful little girl! She truly looks like a princess with her cake.

I do hope you are able to bounce back sooner rather than later, and not because of the blog. Yes, it’s important to you– and your readers love it, but your health comes first! 🙂

Here’s to a better week ahead!!

  20. Andreea

I hope you will feel better soon! I got a nasty flu too and I will go to my doctor next week. Happy birthday to your little princess!

  21. Daniela Ark

Your grace the Royal Princess is just SO CUTE!!! God bless her!

Oh no Kim! I was assuming you were feeling much better! Sorry to hear you are still sick and feeling weak and tired 🙁 But hey! kudos for looking at the upside! That sexy voice! Hope you get better soon! Fingers crossed!

  22. Angela Adams

Happy Birthday to the Princess! Such a cutie — thanks for posting the photo — I can’t believe she’s three already!!!!

  23. Evelina @ AvalinahsBooks

I am on the same boat, although I’m not sick… But just tired all the time, and pretty discouraged from blogging. Winter is a hard time, isn’t it.
Oh my gosh, I hope your vocal cords will be fine in the long run? Although sounding sexy is also acceptable, hehe 😀 I hope it doesn’t hurt?
Here’s to hoping you’ll be all better in the next Sunday update! Thank you for hosting these. You are COOL.
P.S. That birthday photo is just so cute 🙂

  24. Karen Blue

Kimberly I hope you feel better soon. I hate to hear that you are sick with all the things you do. I hope the coughing stops. I know that can be very painful after a few days.
Sophia is getting so big! Three already? WOW! Time is flying by.
I hope you feel better soon. Have a good week!

  25. Chrissy

I’m glad you’re starting to feel better. Keep resting!!!!

YAY for finishing a physical book and for your granddaughter’s birthday!! =)

    Have a good week!

  26. Suzanne

I’m glad you’re finally starting to feel a little better but I just feel horrible that it has taken a month to get to this point. I really hope the rest of your recovery is speedy. Happy Birthday to your little Princess. 3 is such a fun age.

  27. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Glad you’re on the mend! I hope the rest of recovery kicks in quickly for you! Must be terrible to be sick for so long! I hope you’ll be fit and dandy asap!

Nice new reads too! Totally new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

I hope you continue to feel better! I have a goodreads shelf that is shockingly full of books I still need to finish reviews for, I have notes everywhere it’s shocking!

  36. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

Kimba, I’m so sorry you’ve been sick, and for so long! But fingers crossed that the tide has turned and you will continue to get better from here on.

The Princess is utterly adorable (and very photogenic—I always love your photos of both Royals.) Happy birthday to her! I’m glad your daughter was able to bring the party to you, and also clean house for you.

Enjoy your new books! Looks like several of us got The Other Lady Vanishes this week. I guess they must have done a round of approvals. 🙂

  37. Stormi Johnson

I am glad you are starting to feel a little bit better and I hope you continue to get better as the week progresses. *hugs* Sophie looks so cute in that pic! Have a great week!!

So glad to hear you’re feeling better! I was reading the news about kids and even adults who are dying from the flu. So scary. Your granddaughter is a cutie. Promises to Keep looks good. I hope you enjoy your new books.

  39. Mandy Sickle

I’m glad to hear that you are getting better. Seems to be going around everyone seems to be sick recently. Sending good juju’s to a speedy recovery. Wow, I can’t believe she’s already 3. They are growing up so quick!!! That’s awesome that they are able to come to you and you have so much time to spend with your grandkids. I hope you have a great week. Happy reading!!! I can’t wait for March this year I’m going to read only review books….I say every year lol.

  40. Danielle Nolan

Happy 3rd Birthday to the Princess. Love the picture I am awfully sorry to see you are still battling this. That concerns me. I hope that by your appointment, there is much more progress. In the meantime, happy you are resting and that you had some help with the house. Take care – xx

  41. Nick

Happy to hear you are on the mend, Kim! It sounds like you had such a rough start to the year. Fingers crossed you’ll be all energized this week. That was sweet of your daughter to help you clean up the house. And oh my! How is she 3 already!! Time sure does fly.
I hope you have a better week ahead, Kim.

  42. S. J. Pajonas

Ugh. I hate when illness lingers for weeks at a time! I hope you get better fast! And thanks for the Pierce Brown link. I love him and his work. I’m re-reading the Red Rising trilogy right now.

  43. Jolene

My daughter turned 16 on Friday! She got her drivers license on Saturday. Yikes!!! Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Spring is just a few weeks away right?

  44. sjhigbee

I’m delighted to hear you are improving, though you have clearly been through the mill. Do take care of yourself and try to fight the urge to rush around like a blue-bottomed fly to catch up, once you are back on your feet! Thank you for sharing the pic of The Royal Princess – isn’t she a sweetie? I hope your recovery continues and you have a better week, Kimberly:)

  45. vvb

What a cutie! I hope you this weeks finds you better and stronger. Happy listening 😉

    Happy Reading!

  47. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

Oh what a sweet photo of the Princess! She’s adorable and looks so happy. I’m glad you’re feeling better and I hope it keeps up. You’ve been sick for far too long but the fact that you read a print book this week is definitely encouraging. Have a great week and get lots of rest!

  48. Erin @ Quixotic Magpie

I am sorry to hear that you are still battling your illness! My dad and mother-in-law had the flu this year, and were sick for what seemed like forever. Both are doing much better now though. Get lots of rest and fluids!

  49. A Voracious Reader

My *fingers are crossed* that you are on the mend. I know you have a ton of reviews to write, but if I can get through mine I know you can get through yours. And I do it on a way more regular basis than you do. lol Happy Birthday to Princess Sophie!! I wish we could see our grandbabies but my stepdaughter is being an asshole, so we haven’t seen them since Sept. Hopefully some day that will change. I hope you have a much better week, Kim!

  50. Lola

I am sorry to hear you’re still very weak and tired, but hopefully you’re starting to recover now that the wheezing has lessened. That’s nice your oldest came to clean your house and happy birthday to Sophia! I hope your next week is a good one!

  51. Tanya @ Rantings of a Reading Addict

Fingers crossed for no relapse! I’m glad to hear you are slowly mending. I can’t believe the Royal Princess is 3! It just seems like yesterday she was a baby! Have a good week and get more rest until you are completely out of the woods.

  52. Cricket

I hope you get to feeling better soon, I have several family members that are sick with the flu. Happy Birthday to your granddaughter!

  53. Lorna

A friend of mine was just diagnosed with the flu and pneumonia. My sister had a bit of pneumonia recently as well. Are they sure it’s not pneumonia? Your meds are only good if the organism causing the illness is not resistant to it. Hope you continue to improve. That picture of the royal princess is so cute!

  54. Kathy

It’s good to hear you are feeling a little bit better. I hope you have full recovery soon. I can’t believe the Princess is 3 now. Wow, time flies by so fast. I hope she had a great birthday. I’ll have to check out the audiobooks on Google Play. I hope you have a good week!

  55. Sophia Rose

Three! Can’t believe how time is flying by. Best wishes to Sophia and so kind of your daughter to come make your place shiny and clean for you.
Glad you have our audios to entertain and got a print book read..
Oh, nice haul of books. I’ve got Promises to Keep. The Other Lady looks good and I want to get to it at some point.

Glad you’re on the mend and hoping you have no relapses.

  56. Aj @ Read All The Things!

Aww, I love the photo. I’m glad you’re getting better, and I hope your health improves quickly. Long-term sicknesses are the worst. When I get bronchitis, it sometimes lasts for months.

  57. Tina

Aw Happy Birthday Royal Princess! I’m glad you’re feeling a little bit better, I hope you continue to improve. I hadn’t heard about google play offering audiobooks for that price, I must check it out! I hope you have a wonderful week and that you feel better.

  58. Nise'

Happy, happy 3rd Birthday to the Royal Princess! I am glad you are feeling better! Looking forward to the Amanda Quick book.

  59. RO

What an adorable picture of the little one! I hate that you have to go through the weakness part on the way to healing, but hope you get through it quickly now. Wouldn’t it be great to clone yourself when it comes to having to get those reviews done? Feel better soon, and hugs…RO

  60. ShootingStarsMag

Oh, I do hope you start feeling better and don’t relapse again!! That’s just awful. Go you for getting a physical book read though. 🙂 And Happy birthday to your granddaughter!!

    -Lauren

  61. MarthaE

I am glad you are feeling better – I hope the healing continues. Lovely picture of your granddaughter. Promises to Keep looks good. Enjoy your reading and listening.

  62. sherry fundin

Glad you are feeling better. I came down with the flu right after a trip to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl and am just getting back in the swing of things three weeks later. Haven’t been that sick…ever?

  63. Heidi

Well crap Hoping you would be feeling better. The bugs going around are just nasty. I am praying we continue to stay healthy. Happy birthday to Princess Sophia, it seems like just the other day she was born. Heck, it seems like just the other day my two were little. Feel better.

    • Kimberly

My husband just finished 10 days of antibiotics and is going back to doctor tomorrow. I did 20 days and antibiotics shots. My cough is looser and wheezing is only at night now..but boy oh boy this stuff has been nasty.

  64. Tyler H. Jolley

Dang Kimba! Damaging a vocal chord! That’s a bid deal, I’m so sorry. I have a good feeling about this, your kid cleaned out all the lingering sickness in your house so now you have a clear path to recovery. I hope.

  65. Bookworm Brandee

Omigosh! How is Sophia 3 already?!? I’m glad you’re improving healthwise and I hope you continue to feel better and better til you’re all…better. 🙂 I’m on my second cold of the month so although I’ve not been as sick as you, I feel ya. Take care of you and don’t worry about those reviews. They’ll keep. 😉 <3

  66. Melanie Simmons

I hope you’re feeling better. I will say, coughing really wears you out. Last year I got a cough that wouldn’t go away. I didn’t feel bad, but I would just start coughing and couldn’t stop. We did eventually get it cleared up, but man, I was wore out all the time. Happy Birthday to Princess. 🙂

  67. Karen

Oh man, everyone is having a rough winter and getting sick. I hope you’re feeling better soon.

My husband keeps getting whatever it is. He’s fine for a week then it comes back.

Happy Birthday to the little one! I wish my nieces and nephews were that young again lol

Karen @ For What It’s Worth

  68. Stefanie

I’m so sorry you are so ill. Man, this year’s flu is crazy. I’m glad you still got to be part of your granddaughter’s birthday celebration. What a cutie she is. Please continue to relax and rest.
