The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Christmas was lovely and we managed a White Christmas. My week off has been enjoyable, although I still had to handle social media for my clients and watch the Royals. I also had a nasty flu-type virus that hit me on Tuesday. I ate way too many goodies and caught up on television shows.  The new week brought frigid temperatures. Today and tomorrow we are experiences temps with lows in the negative twenties and today’s high a balmy -9 with wind chills of -30 to -40. Mr. Caffeinated and I will be bundled at home. We had planned a night out but decided to celebrate at home. For 2017 I read 265 books and of those 98 were audiobooks. Not a bad reading year at all.  I will be back to blogging on Tuesday. Stay Caffeinated and Happy New Year!

I had to look at those temperatures 3 times to make sure I read them right! I think you and Mr. Caffeinated had the right idea with staying home. That’s way too cold to mess with. Sorry to hear you were feeling poorly but hope you’re feeling better. Catching up on TV and eating goodies is always a good cure. I hope the Royals had a wonderful Christmas and you have lots of time for relaxing! Have a great week and happy New Year!

My husband and I are staying in too. We hungout with friends tonight, but tomorrow I just want to snuggle under some blankets and not think about how cold it is. Well over 200 books is so very impressive to me. Hope you have a fabulous New Year!

  3. Wattle

Happy New Year! Brrr that is very cold! I’d be staying in too. As it is, we are anyway haha we’re very low key this time of year.

You read so many books this year! Congrats 🙂

NEGATIVE?! TWENTIES????!!!! I would definitely not leave the house if that were the weather outside! Ohmygoodness. It’s like 50 here tonight and I’m miserably cold cuz I don’t have central heating that I can use. Glad to hear you had a good Christmas though 🙂 And feel better soon!

Happy New Year! Glad you had a white Christmas- we did too. And now we’re buried in snow! It’s been cold but you’re definitely colder than us, with those kinda temps. Stay warm, and enjoy your New Years! 🙂

Oh my goodness! Those temperatures sound brutal – no wonder Jack is looking a tad chilly… Delighted to hear that you had a lovely Christmas and sorry you were smitten – I hope you are now rested up and back on your feet. Happy New Year – may 2018 be a healthy and successful one for you, Kimberly:)

  7. Evelina

We had so much snow on the 23rd! But then it ALL melted right before Christmas 😀 and there’s still no snow. Somehow this happens every year xD
I hope you have a wonderful new year’s and 2018 starts out great for you 🙂

Wow! 296 books?! That’s impressive! I love The Iron Druid Chronicles, so I hope you enjoy Trapped. 🙂 Stay warm and safe!

  9. Karen Blue

265 books is pretty amazing. You did that in 365 days, WOW!
We had a white Xmas as well in Connecticut. I was told it was the first one in 6 years and my first ever. It has been really cold here. Like -2 and then the wind chill make it very painful to go outside at all. I guess I should not complain at all since it has been much worse where you are. I think this year will be more like the winter of 2015 which left piles of snow up until June.
I hope you have a fantastic New Years Eve no matter where you spend it.

  10. Jessica @ a GREAT read

I know I plan on staying home tonight! It’s going to be bitter cold but I don’t think we’re down the the high negatives like that yet! Think I saw maybe -2 for one day. Definitely hunkering down though!

I sooo need to get caught up on Kevin’s series! Fell wayyyyy behind pretty much when his books went to hardcover! I still bought them…just didn’t read them as fast this go around! Whoops! Highly doubt there’ll be recaps anywhere for adult books! I get lucky with my YA ones sometimes!

Hope you have a most excellent New Years!

That’s awesome you had a white Christmas, we didn’t, but it was a good Christmas. I hope you’re feeling better now and are recovered for that virus, that sounds nasty. That’s awesome you read and listened to so many books. Here’s to an awesome 2018!

So, I’m not gonna complain about our cold temperature s anymore. Lol. Those are brutal temps though. We only had a little snow, but enough to call it a white Christmas.

Your reading is absolutely amazing! Your holiday sounds like it went well and I hope you and your husband have a Happy New Years!!!

We’re at -8 pre windchill so I completely understand. We’re heading to my aunt and uncle’s for board games but won’t stay until midnight. We have to go grocery shopping this morning and I’m dreading it.

So glad to hear you’re feeling better. You had an awesome reading year! I think I’m finally coming out of my reading slump and hoping for a better 2018! Happy New Year my dear!

  14. Jolene @ JO's BOok BLog

It is bitter cold here in Iowa too! They are even canceling church services this morning. Sorry to hear that you have been sick. So far we have all been healthy. My son did have his wisdom teeth out so he has been taking it easy. I have to go back to work on the 3rd. Not very excited. I could use one more week to get the things on my list done. Have you watched The Crown on Netflix? I enjoy that series. Happy New Year!

  15. Stormi Johnson

OMG and I am complaining about 15 high and -1 lows, it’s so time to hibernate. Hope you can stay somewhat warm! You did really good, I missed my reading goal by 5 but overall not to bad. I might have made it but I fell down a tv binge hole last week…lol.

    Happy New Year!!

Sorry to hear you’ve been sick, Kim. Hope you’re feeling better by now. And with weather like that it definitely sounds like a good weekend to stay in and snuggle up with a blanket! 265 books is amazing! I set my goal at 75 and read 100 so I’m really pleased with my reading year as well.

It sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas and we also got snow on Christmas Eve at night, so just in the nick of time for Christmas which was awesome!!! But we haven’t gotten the super cold temperatures actually, been warm in the 40’s surprisingly for Utah.

Hope you have a fun time celebrating New Years with your family and can’t wait to have you back but hope you have enjoyed your break!! 🙂

Happy New Year’s Eve!! It’s pretty chilly here but have some last minute shopping to do for our family Christmas on the 6th. Then I will be cozied up with a good book.

  19. Michelle Gilmore

I’m glad you had a good Christmas! I hope your New Year’s isa good one! We’ll be staying in this year again as well, but since it falls on a day off this time we’ll have a bit more going on than normal NYE. Fantastic job on all the reading this year!

I would not survive in that cold. It’s going to get into the 20s today and I’m a little weenie with just that. The Man lives for this weather and will be walking around in shorts while I’m entirely covered with five blankets on top. I definitely feel like hibernating. I’m glad you had a white Christmas! Your reading for the year is IMPRESSIVE! I need to get with the program! LOL. Stay warm. Happy New Year!

A night in sounds perfect! That’s what I’m doing. There is a bookish chat on Twitter at 9, so I’ll be joining in there but besides that, just doing some blogging and relaxing. It’s SO cold where I live too!

Get well soon but happy to know your holiday season has been a good one. In Australia and the weather has been the very opposite, don’t honestly know which is worse but have to say cold does promote cuddles so I guess I may have to find a colder climate next year. This year I became bosom buddies with the fan and the air-conditioner and feel things moved too fast and we need to break-up.

Brrrrr! It’s cold where we live, too, but not that cold – just in the teens and twenties. And we’re not there, anyway; we’re with my parents in northern New Mexico. It’s been in the 40s here, which seems positively balmy in comparison to your temps.

Thank you again for the Backlist Reader shout-out!

I wish you a very Happy New Year and a wonderful 2018!

Now that is crazy cold! My husband was suggesting that we walk the dogs earlier today so I checked the temp and it was 3 degrees. We didn’t go for a walk…lol. Sorry to hear that you have been sick but happy to hear that you had a good Christmas and break.

I am glad you had a good Christmas break but sorry to hear you had a flu bug. My hubby is battling one today. That sounds like weather that works with staying home and bundled!
265 books is amazing! My highest was 251 in 2011. I haven’t been able to do that since.
I hope you have a WONDERFUL, productive 2018 with lots of Happy Reading and Listening!

What a wonderful and helpful grandmother you are. Grandparents are priceless as my parents have helped us tremendously in the past when we lived up in the city. BTW, you seriously don’t look old enough to be a grandma!
Thank you for your recent visit. While I’m not a lefty, there are lefty knitters out there, I promise. If you were ever interested, Youtube would be a great resource.
