Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

And I am still not ready for Christmas. I am not feeling the Merry and hope the spirit moves me soon. The Royal Princess is over the moon excited and of course, wants Santa to bring her a toy store’s worth of goodies. We took her to see Santa last weekend. She was so excited until she sat on his lap then fear set in. She did ask him for a dolly that cries and I am confident he will deliver. I am currently listening to Year One by Nora Roberts and wow is it good.  It is very different from her typical paranormal trilogies!

I will be unplugged for my end of year blog break beginning Wednesday and will be back January 2nd. In the meantime, I have reviews, top tens, most anticipated and more scheduled for you.  I’ll be checking in next week with the Sunday Post. I can’t believe Christmas is just a week away! Time has flown this year. We just put our tree up yesterday, finally. I thought we were getting to the point where we just wouldn’t bother haha I am looking forward to the long weekend more than anything.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and that Santa brings what everyone has wished for 🙂

I think we might be Christmas twins! I’m also just not feeling that into the Holiday spirit this year and while I’m hoping for something inspirational to come my way, I’m just not feeling that confident (I’m okay with that!). 2017 was a long year and I think I’m just ready to put it behind me!

I’ve never actually read Nora Roberts, but Year One has me very intrigued. Your Totally Random also had me cracking up! There’s something mysterious about wearing a sweat-shirt out 🙂 Happy Holidays, Kim and enjoy the blogging break!

Yay, it’s almost Christmas. I can’t believe it. I hope you have a wonderful time on Christmas with friends and family, Kim, full of joy and happiness. Enjoy your books and happy reading. 😀

Let’s not talk about this season – I’m feeling something but it’s definitely not merry. With a lot of extra hours, and my brain all over the place I have barely time to pick up a book, and reviewing is sorely being ignored.

But, I was able to read Year One and I was wowed by the epic feel. Very different but also so promising. The waiting is driving me nuts, an entire year before we’ll find out more.

I saw you have Burn Bright on your tbr. Me too!!!! My fingers are itching so badly. I want to drop everything and start reading it. But at the same time I don’t want to be interrupted either. So I’m waiting until my holiday break, at least then i can read it in one sitting.;-)

It’s coming quick! Yikes. I have a little t do yet. Hope the spirit catches up with you in the last week, and enjoy your break. I’m thinking of taking one between Christmas and New Years too, just to veg a bit. 🙂

    Have a great week!

Enjoy your unplugged time Kim. Sometimes Christmas can be hard when you’ve other stuff going on but try and enjoy the little things you love about it. That always helps me feel a little merrier.

  7. Michelle Gilmore

I’m working on scheduling a bunch of posts so I can take a bit of a break during the upcoming weeks. I hope you enjoy your unplugged time! I’ve been very curious about Year One. I have never read a Nora Roberts book, and I think I kind of want this one to be the one I grab.

Well, you still have some time to go until it’s Christmas 🙂 I am hoping I will pick up my health from where I lost it, cause I’d like to eat at least a little of the Christmas foods on the table! But for now, just glad I am done with the gift shopping 🙂
    Have a nice week 🙂

Right. I work from home and watch the Royals. In the dead of winter, there are days I get a shower and put comfy pajamas back on!

  9. Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

When it comes to not being ready for Christmas, I’m right there with you. I still have so much to do. I’m working Mon-Thu but I’m taking this Friday off so I’m hopeful that I will finish everything up then. Enjoy your holiday break, Kim!

  10. Stormi Johnson

I am not ready for Christmas either, think I am more reading for it to be over. 🙂 Have fun being unplugged! I can’t seem to do it even when I say I am taking a break I am still here…lol.

    Have a great week!!

Oh nice! I’m totally psyched for Christmas myself! Guessing since my birthday is so close, I’m always ready for holiday spirit! I am eager to see if my family likes the gifts I painstakingly pick out for them! Lol!

Nice new reads! I forget that Nora pretty much writes every genre! I will have to give her paranormal books a try one day! Hope you enjoy all the new reads and your blogging break!

It really doesn’t have the Christmas feel to me yet either. I can’t believe it’s just a week away. I want to try Year One. I haven’t read Nora Roberts in years, but this one looks good. Maybe I’ll try to get the audio. Hope you have a great Christmas and a relaxing break! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  13. A Voracious Reader

I still have some presents to wrap and I need to make a post office run, but other than that I’m done. I’ll probably make some nommies, but I don’t have to leave the house for those, so it’s all good. lol I’m also planning a break the week of Christmas. Everyone is off so we’ll go see The Last Jedi and do other things together.

I hope you have a restful, family-filled break, Kim!

Glad to hear you are taking a break. I think next week will be all about Top 10s and Most Anticipated for me as well. I hope you will share a pic of your Xmas with the royals. I know she must be excited. The idea of Santa is so scary and magical to a child. I am not really ready. I am slowly but surely getting closer though. I need to plan out my dinner.
I so wanted Year One. I am so glad to hear you are enjoying it. I guess I need to buy it for myself.
    Have a great week!

I’ve did all my shopping o online so I wouldn’t have to worry about shipping. We went down to see family for thanksgiving, so Christmas is going to be quiet this year. Enjoy the holiday and blog break! (I live in hoodies outside of work from Nov-March. Lol.)

Enjoy your break from blogging. I am thinking of only posting my 2017 Challenges Update and then taking a break for a bit. I hope the Christmas Spirit grabs a hold of you soon. It is hard for me too sometimes with all the rushing around and stress of baking and wrapping and letter writing.

Sorry you’re feeling unChristmassy:(. Though it sounds like you had fun with the Royal Princess when you took her to see Father Christmas. Despite all our ups and downs (or perhaps because of them!) I’m suddenly REALLY looking forward to Christmas this year. Hope once you’ve managed to grab those precious five minutes to yourself and unplugged, you’ll start feeling a tad excited about it all…. Take care and many thanks for all your tireless efforts throughout the year, hosting this meme – it’s by far the biggest one I take part in and is always flawlessly organised. You’re a star!x

  18. Danielle

Hope you find the spirit soon <3 I am ready, but finding it not the same as the kids get older. I miss the excitement I guess haha. I also have a year end break planned for about the same time. Hoping yours is restful my friend – xx

How is Christmas just a week away? I’m so not ready! Sounds like the Royals are beyond ready and Christmas is so fun at that age. The Tornado is still on Team Santa but I know that we’re almost at the end there. I’ll be sad to see that bit of magic go. I’m on the fence about Year One. I love Nora Roberts but this one sounds almost too different. I think I’ll wait for your review and decide then. I hope the Merry finds you soon and have a great week and a merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Kim! Yes, work is crazy for me and I’m not enjoying this season as much as I should. Plus, I’m retiring from the “day” job at the end of this month and getting ready for a move, which is making things crazy! So, I can understand how you’re feeling! See ya next year and enjoy your year end break!

  21. Charlie

We haven’t gone to any of the holiday things like we’ve done in years past, so it feels weird. Not like Christmas quiet yet. I hope you have a good week and get some of your merry!

  22. Samantha

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! I’m sure once the day gets closer the Royals will make sure you are feeling the Christmas spirit!! I am really interested in Year One by Nora Roberts so I am glad you are enjoying it!

Hope the holiday spirt hits you this week. I kinda feel the same way. I live in CA now and we don’t have snow… I think of the Holidays being something that needs snow to make a Holiday more special. I did decorate the house and have all the presents ready to go and family arrives this week. I love your book haul. Hope you enjoy. Have a wonderful week and happy reading.

Happy Sunday, Kim. I’m not ready for Christmas either. Have a few more gifts to get. Luckily, this year it’s low-key for us. Looking forward to next week’s reviews and Nora Roberts new book sounds like a good one! Happy Holidays and merry Christmas to you and your family!

Hi, Kim, I love the snowflakes and it’s time to get into the spirit girl! I made a mistake in the Mr.Linky widget and it will bug me until it’s made right. IDK can you delete the link #70, please? Anyway, Joyeux Noel and all that jazz to you and your family

  26. MarthaE

I’m with you on not being ready for Christmas. I did my first bit of shopping this past Saturday. I used to shop all year and would be done by now.
Your new books all look good. I will watch for your review of Killman Creek as I almost got that during my NetGalley binge this week.
I do hope you have a lovely week and that the kids bring the special heart back to your Christmas days. Enjoy your down time. Happy Reading!

  27. RO

I get the spirit thing. Some days I really have to work hard to remember it’s the holidays, and other days I psyche myself into it. Then other days, I see all the things people are doing, and I’m so on board. The holidays are occasionally a reminder that I’m here alone because both parents are deceased and my son and his family live in another state. I’ll bet you’re counting the days to unplug, huh? (lol) You’re the best and hope you’re well. Hugs…RO

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a pic of your child/grandchild crying in Santa’s lap. lol. Those are my all-time favorite pics of my kids. Same with the Easter Bunny. Enjoy your upcoming break, Kimba!

  29. Lover Of Romance

oh yes, I am not quite in the “mood” for Christmas yet But I haven’t really done many Christmasy things though. I plan on watching some movies this week to help me out. 🙂 Hope you have a wonderful holiday with your family!!:)
