Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

It has been bitter cold and sadly we have all been battling head colds and coughs. I finished a little more shopping this week, but we need to make our annual shopping day and dinner out still. Eep. I finished my Goodreads challenge and will completely laugh if I hit 275. Remember in January when I lowered my challenge to 250, as I felt my new grandson would impact my reading. We finished season two of Stranger Things and now I am trying to decide what to watch next. Did you all see the spinoff of Supernatural called Wayward Sisters beginning January 18th? We, of course, watched the Psyche movie this weekend. Our daughter has been sick for a few weeks and not kicking it, so we have the Royals all weekend, so she can get a little rest. As you can imagine we have been busy, busy, busy! Stay Caffeinated!

Oh no, I hope you’re all feeling better soon! I have vague recollections of a Supernatural spin-off but I’m not convinced (they’ve tried to do this before!) I do need to catch up on SPN though, I have a few episodes of season 12 left to get through.

I really enjoyed the Psych movie, I hope you did too! It made me realise how much I missed the show 🙁

Enjoy your new reads, and have a wonderful week ahead!

It seems to me you still have had a great week, Kim. I hope your daughter is getting better. I haven’t watched any movies except some videos on YT this year. I know, crazy right. My husband and I are planning on going out tomorrow. Hopefully, we’ll get to watch one as we’ve planned. It’s been hard to find the free time with our schedules.

Have a wonderful week, my friend. Enjoy your new books and the time with the royals. ❤️

Sorry to hear about all the colds! I hope you get over them soon. It’s pretty cold here in Utah, where I am visiting, but I haven’t gotten out much.

Way to go on your Goodreads Challenge! Even with the new grandbaby, you’ve read an amazing number of books. Go Kimberly!!!

Oh I adore Psych! I heard about the movie coming out but I haven’t seen it yet. I’ll need to find a way to watch it. Congratulations on reading 250 books so far this year, that’s incredible! With homework I don’t often pleasure read during the school year, but I’m looking forward to catching up on reading during winter break. I hope you feel better soon!

I’m seriously impressed by how much you read…and a bit jealous. I loved the second season of Stranger Things. That Mindhunter show was pretty decent if you haven’t watched it yet. A bit dark, but interesting. Feel better!

Oh no, feel better soon! And that goes for everyone in your family! And congrats on meeting your GR goal 🙂 I didn’t hear about the Supernatural spin-off, but then I stopped watching Supernatural after Season 9 I think it was. I imagine lots of people will be excited for it though!

Watchmaker’s Heart looks good. It’s beautiful here! Low to mid-70’s which is my favorite weather, but unseasonably warm for here. Sorry it’s so cold where you are! I hope you guys all get better and get what you need done. I’m behind on my Goodreads goal, so I hope to kick it in gear these last few weeks. Have a fabulous week!

I seriously need to spend some time watching Supernatural, I’ve fallen so far behind. I just I’m lucky it’s such a fun show to binge watch.
I hope you and your family all start to feel better soon! It’s no fun being sick, especially not with cold weather.

It’s gotten really cold here too, and along with the snow it’s starting to really feel like December! Brr!! Hope everyone is feeling better there, I finished Stranger Things 2 recently and liked it a lot. Now I have to find a new binge!

Have a great week Kimba and stay warm!!!!

Sorry to hear you are all under the weather. I hope you feel better soon. Congratulations on your GR challenge! My audiobook count was higher this year, so I exceeded as well. It’s good to exceed somewhere in life. I just had to google the Supernatural spinoff. Going to read the article now. =)

Sorry you aren’t feeling well these days, Kim. Headcolds are the worst. Sending you some healing thoughts.
We actually still have snow on the ground since yesterday – which is a rare occurrence for us, as it usually melts before a full day has gone by. It’s gorgeous, and the dogs are going nuts in the backyard.
I hope you’ll enjoy Roomies as much as I did!
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading 🙂

Your blog is snowing! This is so cool? How did you do it?

But if it had anything to do with coding, then never mind (because I suck at it).

    Anyway, have a great week!

  13. Nadene

That is a Psych movie? I cant believe I never knew about it. I pray your daughter gets better soon and that you all get over the flu. Have a great week.

  14. Lillian @ Mom with a Reading Problem

Oh no! I hope y’all fell better soon. We are just getting over colds ourselves. It’s no fun!
I’m hoping to watch the Psych movie later this week. We’ve been binge watching the second season of The Crown which I love! It’s interesting to see how the monarchy has moved from its traditions into the modern age.
I don’t think I’ll meet my Goodreads goal this year. It’s been a slow Reading year for me. Currently I’m sitting about 8 books behind my 125 goal. I’m seriously impressed with your 250! How do you read so many? I’d love to know the secret 😉
Hope you have a great week! Happy reading

I set mine very low and already made it a while back, but it’s fun to see how much I’ll get read this year. Have a great week!

Ugh, sorry to hear everyone has been sick. Sure hope that passes quickly. Hooray for meeting your GR goal! I think I went a little conservative this year, too, and it ended up being not much of a challenge. Oh my goodness! Thanks so much for including my post in Around the Blogosphere, Kim! That’s so awesome… I got so excited I had to share with my husband. LOL

  18. Jessica @ a GREAT read

OOoh I cannot wait for Wayward Sisters!! I will definitely need to set my DVR for that! I STILL need to watch the Psych movie! I was going to wait for my mom so we could watch it together as we did with the show but it’s been busy! Maybe next weekend. And I STILL need to watch a few more episodes of Season 2 of Stranger Things! Been watching it slowly over these past few weeks! Really since it premiered! I’m bad about sitting still for the full length of an one hour show! Lol!

Nice new reads too! I enjoyed Rachel’s Killman Creek! It was definitely suspenseful!! Hope you enjoy the new reads all around!

Sounds like you’ve been super busy. Currently here in England its snowing, which is great just not so much for when I have to go to college as it’s gonna more than likely be icy. So I may have to be ‘ill’ according to my mum, I’m not complaining haha. I think I have eye rolled myself into another dimension by now, hope this week is not so busy for you.

  20. Michelle @Because Reading

    I hope you feel better!
I am not going to hit my goal and I lowered mine at some point. My slump/depression is really impacting my reading but I wont lower it again. I am ok with failing if that is what happens but I might try to squeeze in a few novellas to see if that helps, I’m only 9 books away 🙂

We have been busy around here also. Looking forward to the holiday!

Have a great week, Kim! Happy Reading! ox

Y’all are sharing a cold?? UGH!! I say you guys just order in food, open a bottle of wine and set the computers on your laps and do your shopping out that way!!! No stress, no crowds, and plenty of kleenex when you need it! And you don’t have to annoyingly sweat or carry your coat in the mall 😉

You go and BLOW that Goodreads Challenge out of the water!! Hope you feel better soon!

I want to see the Psych movie. Hopefully Netflix will have it or maybe Hulu or even Amazon. *fingers crossed* I had heard there would be a spinoff of Supernatural but hadn’t heard when it was coming. Should be interesting.

I hope you guys kick the sickness and have a fantastic, and warmer, week, Kim!

  24. Kristine

I’m sorry to hear that everyone has been suffering this week! Head colds are never fun. I’m still highly impressed by how many books you’ve read this week.

I did not know there was a Supernatural spinoff coming out! I’m a cord-cutter, so I only see the new seasons through the apps or when they hit Netflix.

I hope you are all feeling better and have a great week this week!

  25. Jolene

My daughter was sick this week too. Sore throat and fever. My hubby and I FINALLY did some Christmas shopping Saturday. We are only about half done. I got so frustrated with the crowds that I finally gave up. I am going to try to go during the week when it is hopefully not as busy. Have a great week.

Sorry to hear you have all been poorly, I know how much that sucks!!! Congrats on reaching your goodreads goal for 2017 that’s amazing!!! I hope you reach 275 just so you have that extra satisfaction haha, but I guess reading 250 is all the satisfaction you need anyway!!

Wishing your daughter all the best with getting better!! xxx

  27. Darlene

A Supernatural spin-off?? My daughter will be thrilled. I seriously need to binge watch that series and get caught up. Maybe over the holidays?? Our household here is also battling colds and bad coughs, and I hope that means that we get it over with before the holidays and that we aren’t sick over the break. Congrats on completing your Goodreads challenge!

It has been busy, busy here and we are also just getting over a round of what I believe was bronchitis. Luckily, I only had to take one day off. But I still have shopping to do and have fallen slightly behind, but not so much that I feel overwhelmed. I had not heard of the spin off for Supernatural. I will have to look it up! I am watching Dark on Netflix at the moment and completely hooked! Happy reading <3

The Man still has the dredges of a cold after two weeks he can’t kick, either. Of course, he refuses to take anything for it also to alleviate cough/congestion. We had a fight last weekend about “you can’t be an asshole to everyone because you don’t feel good if you refuse to take medicine.” I think the message got through. I hope you guys all start clearing up soon. We’ve had our first freezes of winter and even had snow! I’m looking forward to warmer days, but in my heart I also want snow again.

Sorry you’re all under the weather, Kim. Nice to have time with the Royals tho 🙂 I’m only half way through Stranger things S2. It’s getting really scary!! I’m looking forward to the new Alice Hoffman review you’re writing later this week. She’s one of my favorite authors. Congrats on meeting your GR goal.

I cut my challenge way back from 200 to 150 this year because I just couldnt’ keep up and I didnt’ need the stress. However, I have listened to so many audiobooks I am right around 175 right now, I may get to two hundred, or not, who knows. I don’t stress about it anymore. It is crisp, cold, windy here with lots of sun. I love it. No rain for almost two weeks, if only it would last. Feel better.

Eeek!! Don’t remind me about Christmas shopping – we haven’t even gotten started yet. Congrats on finishing off your Goodreads challenge. I’ve got one book to go and plan on setting the bar low for myself next year. That thing is stressful!

Hope everyone feels better soon and you can get your shopping day + dinner in. Have a great week, Kim!

  33. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

Oh I hope your daughter gets to feeling better. Those lingering illnesses are the worst! Especially with little ones as you don’t get the rest you need. Good luck getting the rest of your shopping done. I think I’ve got most of mine done and the rest ordered. Now comes the wrapping and just getting prepared for Christmas. Have a great week!

Yep, the icky illness is reigning king here at our house, too. I’m mostly tired and congested, but the others got the fevers and chills to go with it.
Looking forward to the end of the year audio check in because I did better than I thought I would, but GoodReads, I won’t make it b/c of the month I took off for my grandmother. But I’ll be close. 🙂

Have a good week and hope you get your shopping day in. 🙂

I hope you feel better soon! I have been battling sinus issues again. I hate being ill at this time of year 🙁

Great job with your reading challenge! That is so impressive! I ended up not participating this year but I think I will next year.

I have started watching season two of The Crown. So far it is excellent and very bingeable. I should wait till January to watch the rest while my other shows are on hiatus but I don’t know if I can wait that long!

I want to read Roomies. I tried to order a copy for my library but our book distributor was out of stock. I’ll have to see if I can borrow it from another library but I may wait to get it till January.

Hope you have a good week.

  36. Whitney

I hope you get over the head cold soon, that is one thing that is truly awful about this time of year. My son has been fighting strep for the past two weeks, so I sort of know the feeling.

It looks like you have a busy schedule ahead of you. I need to watch all of Supernatural. I’ve only seen the first and second seasons. I’m interested in the spinoff though.

    Have a great week!

Dang, I hope your daughter gets better quick. It’s been really mild here in Colorado, but we’re dying for moisture. Stay warm, happy reading.

  38. RO

Sometimes I need to be in a new dimension too, Kim! (lol) Nothing worse than being in the cold weather, and almost everyone in the fam is suffering with a cold or flu. Sure hope everyone gets better soon, and that you get the rest of your shopping done, too. I thought that post by Greg on Prophecies was really interesting too and made me put on my thinking cap. It was nippy here in NC, but I was happy with the cold weather, which is creeping back up to the 60’s in December starting tomorrow. Hugs…RO
