Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Thanks to everyone who stopped by and commented and uplifted my posts while we were in New Jersey. It was wonderful seeing family, and the celebration of life was bittersweet. The Royals were delightful on our ride out but the ride home was a tad rough on all of us. Poor Clayton cried and Princess Sophia began using potty calls as an excuse to get out of the car… lol.  I came home to a ton of email, packages and more. I’ve been playing catch up and quite frankly I am pooped. I didn’t get to read or listen to any books while we were away. My weekend Birthday plans involve a book orgy! Yes, Kimberly, you can have your cake and eat it too. I got a lot of new goodies while I was away. If you have read the Otherworld series can you tell me…can I start with Loved? I updated the site with an SSL Certificate, if you run across any glitches and by all means email me. For next week’s Sunday Post if you could up, ate link back to me, I would be grateful. As always stay caffeinated!

My son’s Fire died, so I gave him my old one. With a Prime deal, I picked up the new Fire 8 with Alexa. I am enjoying it. It’s larger and the upgraded features are nice.

Glad you had a good trip. And yes treat yourself to all the books this weekend! Happy birthday!!

I’ll have to go read that romance novels post, I can only imagine what was said. 🙂

  2. Geybie's Book Blog

Yay, happy birthday, hon. #hugs and #kisses
I hope you are having an awesome time celebrating with family. Enjoy your weekend, my friend. Wish you ALL THE BEST. 😀
Can’t wait to hear about it. Thank you for being such a fantastic inspiration to us bloggers.

  3. Lexxie

Happy Birthday Kim! I hope you’ll have a truly wonderful day, and that all the books you pick up in order to celebrate are great books 🙂
You sure received some good-looking new books, too.
Sorry the drive home with the royals was hard… I remember those fake potty breaks, too 😉

Happy birthday!!! I haven’t been keeping up with Sunday posts lately between moving and then a hurricane, but it looks like I picked a good day to pick back up again and visit! I know that catch-up game though, I just did it myself lol. And I didn’t even know you were away, I’m glad it was a good trip 🙂

  5. Tressa

I’m so glad your trip went relatively well. Hopefully you’ll be able to catch up this week. We’ll be gone in two weeks and I know I’ll be in the same situation then. Have a great week!

  6. Wattle

Happy birthday! I hope you have a good weekend 🙂 and it’s great your trip went well, even if it was bittersweet.

I look forward to checking out your Practical Magic review this week, I wasn’t a fan of the book but perhaps it might come across better as audio.

  7. Sam

The Princess is a genius! She totally knows grown-ups will never ignore a potty call. *laughing* The worst part of any vacation is coming back to all the “real life”. I always take one extra day off from work, so I have one day to acclimated to being home: shopping, laundry, mail, etc. Good luck with catching up and enjoy the book orgy.

  8. Evelina

Your birthday plans sound amazing 🙂 and I feel like coming back to packages must be pretty cool 😀 have a great birthday weekend!

  9. Emma

My daughter does exactly the same thing on trips. She sees every stop as an opportunity to get a treat. Hope you have a good, book binging, birthday x

  10. Shandy Jo

Glad you had a good trip. Question I just got a new Fire and it has all sorts of ads on the lock page. When I went to get rid of them it said I had to pay $15, did you run across this with yours? Hope you have a good week! Oh and have fun with your book orgy. 🙂

  11. Lola

Sounds like you had a good trip to see your family. That’s too bad the return drive was a bit tough. I hope you can read a lot of books during your birthday weekend. I am looking forward to your review of Rituals. I read it last month. Have a great week!

  12. Suzanne

Glad to hear that you had a good trip overall. Hope it’s not too painful getting all caught up on everything you missed while you were away. A birthday book orgy sounds perfect, lol. Happy Birthday to you!

  13. Jan

Happy Birthday, Kimberly! I’m glad you’re home safe. You’ve gotten lots of good looking books and so glad you’re spending your birthday weekend reading. That’s a great way to spend a weekend! Hope your week is a good one.

  14. Laura Thomas

Glad you had a great trip and welcome back. It’s funny how we need time to get over a vacation. LOL Happy Birthday and read, read, read!

  15. Michelle

Happy Birthday! I hope you are having an amazing day!

The trip looked like fun! When my parents and I would drive to Florida the trip home was always the worst, not because we had to leave but at that point you just want to be home already. My dad would drive through the night just to get home in the 18 hours. It was a fun experience, we might do that with the kids next year when we go to florida! But we will see! 🙂

I hope you have an amazing week, Kim! Happy Reading! ox

  16. Kristin

    I’m sorry but I haven’t read any PC Cast books… they were before/after (?) my time 🙁

Happy Birthday!! You go cram those books in and eat cake! Don’t you dare do any work today! I mean it! I will know if you do… grrrrrrrrrr… xoxoxoxo

  17. Stormi Johnson

Happy Birthday!!! Sounds like the Princess has car rides figured out…lol. I hate catching up after being gone a while, so its nice you can relax today and read lots of books and have cake. 🙂

  18. Darlene

There’s always a ton to do at home after vacation! That’s why I like to have a couple of down days before I have to return to work. Happy birthday, Kimberly!

That’s a new Christmas book that I haven’t seen before. I will have to look that one up! Have a great week.

  19. A Voracious Reader

    Books and nomnoms! Happy Birthday!!

I think a long trip is always better going. On the ride back you realize how far you have to go to get back to your own bed and throne. lol Glad you made it home safe and sound. I hope you have a fantastic week, Kim!

  20. Yvonne

Sounds like you had a great time. I know that “catch up” feeling following a vacation. Happy Birthday! I hope you have a great week!

  21. Jasprit

What a great haul Kimberly, sorry you weren’t able to read whilst you were away, but hopefully you’ll be able to tackle some of these epic books soon. I hope you have a great week!

  22. Jennifer

First Happy Birthday (birthday month sister by another mister). Followed the link to the Nook story. While I’m not surprised, I’m sad. I got a new Nook Glow Touch last year for Christmas so I could read all the Nookbooks I had on my Nook Color (I didn’t like reading on it). I’ll keep the device because I have over 100 books on it I still need to read. I also have a Kindle Paperwhite so I’m covered either way. While I prefer to read on e-ink readers (I read a computer screen all day at work and don’t want to read on a similar screen when I’m at home) I hope you enjoy your new Kindle Fire.

  23. Jolene

Those Christmas books get me excited for the Holidays. My teenage daughter has already started listening to Christmas music. She cracks me up! Do you watch the Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel?

  24. Melissa (My World...in words and pages)

Happy birthday! Hope your weekend was relaxing and enjoyable. 🙂 Take care!

  25. Jenea's Book Obsession

I’m glad to hear ya’ll had a safe trip home. Traveling with little ones can rough but it is still fun. All your new additions are amazing. I am especially curious about The Breathless. Have a great Sunday!!! And Happy Birthday!

  26. Nick

Happy Birthday, Kim! I think your birthday plans sound absolutely perfect! I’m wishing you all the very best for this upcoming year.
I’m glad you were able to come home to lots of great goodies after a bittersweet trip. I hope you enjoy them all!
Happy reading and have a great week! 🙂

  27. Kathy

It’s good to hear you made it home safely. OMG Sophia made me laugh lol. That must have been a really long ride home lol. I hope you have a great birthday! I’ve had a busy weekend so no time for a Sunday post. I hope you have a great week!

  28. Lover Of Romance

I am not super surprised by B&N’s choice to let go of the NOOK. I have been expecting it I used to have a NOOK, but the past couple of years I have fallen in love with my kindle e ink reader. And everyone has been going crazy over the NYT article. I think its good to have someone defend romantic fiction. Its highly underrated.

  29. Charlie

When we drove to Georgia three years ago to bring my brother home from Ft. Benning, the ride going was fine (if long), but the ride back was killer. Cramped, cranky, hot, and tired. Hopefully things have settled back down. Isn’t it great to come home to presents? Happy birthday!!

  30. Nicole

Happy birthday, Kim!! I’m glad you’re getting time to relax with your books. 🙂

One thing: You have a typo in your post and I’m not sure what you meant to say. You said “For next week’s Sunday Post if you could up, ate link back to me, I would be grateful.” Normally I wouldn’t nitpick and point out mistakes, but you’re obviously making a request of us and I’m not sure exactly what it is! Do you want us to link directly to your Sunday Post next week? Whatever it is, I’m happy to comply! 🙂

  31. Heidi

I am glad you made it home safe. That is a long drive for little ones. I remember taking mine home to Idaho when they were small. Lots of goodies for review. I am hopelessly behind right now and wondering if I can catch up.

  32. Karen Blue

I am glad to hear you got so many new books to read. Enjoy them all. I hope you bday is full of whatever it is hat makes you most happy! Have a great week and happy reading!

  33. Lark

Welcome home, and happy birthday! A weekend of reading sounds heavenly. And I spy an audio copy of one of my favorite Bridgerton books in that very nice book haul…

  34. Nise'

Hope your birthday is filled with reading and/or listening I celebrated earlier this week with the grand kids and audio. Glad you are home.

  35. Bibliojunkies

Murder Magic looks good! And I can’t believe that we’re already looking at Christmas-themed books. That’s crazy! Enjoy your books 🙂 ~ Bel

  36. MarthaE

I am glad the trip was good even with a sad purpose. Children learn so quickly what “buttons” work.
I hope you got a chance to catch your breath and have a stupendous Birthday with Happy Reading!

  37. sjhigbee

I’m glad you had a great time, but that journey home doesn’t sound like a barrel of laughs… I’ve had those kind of trips with the children, too – but only lasting a couple of hours as we slogged through the rush hour… Have a lovely birthday – I can’t think of anything nicer than curling up with a stack of good books, newly acquired!

  38. Lorna

Happy Birthday a bit late! Hope you got to read/listen to your hearts content. That’s a really long road trip with little ones in the car! Glad you made it home ok. Are you using Alexa? I just used her for the first time to play music for me. Pretty great!

  39. Jen @ BTH Reviews

It looks like you got a lot of great books this week! When it’s not so late at night and I don’t have to get to bed, I’ll come back and check them out more thoroughly. Have a great week!
