Hello, September! We are in the midst of a three-day weekend and for some, it marks the end of summer. In August, I managed to finish 20 books. It was a nice mix of audios and physical books. If things come in threes, then we should be good on house issues for a spell. This week we had a huge leak under our kitchen sink. Sadly, we didn’t discover it until we went into our finished basement to get something from the deep freezer and OMG. Water is destructive! The leak is fixed, but we have some repair work to do downstairs. Our weather continues to be very mild and we are having a BBQ with family today. Enjoy your weekend and as always stay caffeinated!

Yay for long weekends! Hope you guys have a great one. Barbecue sounds fun. Sorry to hear about the water damage though- yeah it can get bad. Hopefully you’re free of trouble for a while after this!

It’s been pretty mild here too, already feeling like fall especially at night!

I’m sorry to hear about the leak! Water can really do a number on your house, we had a leak a few winters ago and we had some serious repair work to handle even though it was relatively small. I do hope you get to enjoy your long weekend! Hopefully, you’ll get some well-deserved relaxation time.

Something needs to be fixed again? Dang, sorry about that. A three day weekend sounds nice though 🙂 we just have a normal one, and I was also working most of the Saturday 😀 happy new school year though! Haven’t been a student for years, but somehow you just keep operating in the rhythm of life that you remember growing up in.

Fingers crossed you don’t have any more home disasters. Leaks are the worst! It has been raining for the past 12 hours here, and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down, but at least it’s cool out. I love a three-day weekend. I hope your’s is lovely!

Blimey – your house is really have a rough time of it! So sorry to hear of the leak – I recall the damage caused by a slow leak by the washing machine which we didn’t discover for far too long… I hope the family BBQ goes well – our long week-end was last week and I’m wishing you the same wonderful weather we had, Kimberley. Congratulations on having read 20 books during August – that is amazing!

Jeez…. Just when you think you have everything all fixed. Bit I think that is just about how it how’s too. I’m glad you were able to get the leak fixed and I hope the eater damage isn’t too bad. I and looking forward to your thoughts on Sweet Tea and Sympathy, enjoy the new additions. Happy Labor Day!

20 books in August! I bow to your abilities. 😉 Sorry to hear about the water damage. You’ve had more than your fair share of home issues lately. Hope you enjoy the BBQ! I’m getting together with some family today, too (for breakfast), and I’m looking forward to it.

Water is terrible for destroying things. Your leak sounds a nightmare. I hope the repair work isn’t too awful.

Looking forward to seeing your reviews for 99 Red Balloons and Spellbook of the Lost and Found as I have both these on my TBR.

We’re still having some warm weather here, but I am ready for fall to be here soon! I am sorry to hear about your kitchen sink leak :(. Glad you got it fixed, but that’s annoying you have some damage to fix now. I also got Holiday Wishes :), I am looking forward to reading it. Have a great week!

Oh goodness you poor guys are jinxed when it comes to household issues. I hope this is the last one for a good long while! Hope it didn’t damage to much stuff. Have fun at your BBQ and happy reading!

Long weekends are always the best! I’m so sorry to hear about your kitchen sink leak. Leaks always seem to spring up when you least suspect & want them, don’t they? Anyhow, Jill Shalvis’ book looks great. I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts on it. I hope your BBQ goes well today. Have a great week! 🙂

Here’s to hoping your house is done making you miserable for now! Water is incredibly destructive. And it makes things smell bad. 🙁

It sounds like August was a good reading month for you. I am one of those who now count is in falland I’ve been loving the cooler weather we’ve been having this past week!

Sorry about your leak. That is such a problem when you don’t find it right away. It’s hard to believe Ho-Ho-Ho Readathon is right around the corner, Kimberly. I always enjoy that though I never seem to get to many of the challenges. I love to start reading Christmas stories though. Enjoy your barbecue!

This weekend marks the end of summer for me! I hope you have a wonderful labor day weekend. Congratulations on reading 20 books in August!

  15. Suzanne

Yikes, I really hope that’s the last house-related issue you have for a long while. Hope the repairs won’t be extensive. Enjoy the long weekend! The weather was horrible here yesterday, but I’m hoping Sunday and Monday will be nice so we can get outside and BBQ as well.

  16. Melissa (My words and pages)

I can’t believe it’s September! Where is the year going? It’s just flying by. I always thought they were joking about years going faster and faster. It’s true.

Hope you have a great week.

  17. Kathy

Water damage can get messy so hopefully it won’t be too hard to fix. I have Tuesday off so this will be a nice 4 day weekend for me. It’s hard to believe it is September already. I hope you have a nice long weekend!

Oh no! Leaks are no fun and I definitely know how damaging water can be. One time, a pipe burst in our apartment, and it was COMPLETELY flooded. Now every time we go out we make sure we switch off the main water source before we go out. I hope you all figure it out soon. I got that new Jill Shalvis too and I’m loving this series so much, Kim. It gives me such warm fuzzy feels.
    Enjoy the long holiday!

  19. Yvonne

You had a great August! The weather is already feeling like fall here.

Coincidentally we had a link under our kitchen sink too. I saw it before it did any real damage, though. Luckily my husband fixed it quickly. I hope your basement repairs aren’t too bad. Have a great weekend!

  20. Bookworm

That’s good you got the leak fixed, yes water is so destructive and sneaky too. There’s been times I found leaks in the basement because of a pipe, but thankfully I found it in time before any severe damage/mold etc.
20 books in August is amazing! I need to hang that temporarily out of order sign in my work cubicle lol. Happy Sunday 🙂

  21. Wattle

I hope you have a good long weekend 🙂 It’s a pity about the water damage to your basement, fingers crossed it’s not too bad?

I cannot believe that it’s September already, Christmas is coming up waaaay too fast!

So sorry to hear about your leak. I hope the damage wasn’t too bad. I lost a bunch of long out-of-print books to a similar leak some years back, so I really hope you didn’t have any books underneath!

Have a great week and enjoy your BBQ!

Hope you have been well! Also praying the repairs go smoothly. I know just how bad water damage can be. We are in the midst of a 3 day weekend as well but with a bit of a heat wave. Hope the weather holds up for you. Have a lovely weekend 🙂

  24. Darlene

Argh, home repairs suck!! I have a basement reno that I need to tackle but first I need to declutter and that seems like a never-ending process! When the basement contents are manageable, then I need to rent a pod and put everything in there.

The Wayback Machine is fun! It shows me how many books that I’ve acquired that I still haven’t read!! Yes, the TBR mountain needs some attention.

Hope you have a great week and enjoy your family BBQ! My little pumpkin has been under the weather, high fever and vomiting all day yesterday and last night. She woke up still with a fever, but the vomiting has stopped. Obviously, this totally changes my plans for the long weekend but what can you do? The good news is that I’ve had lots of time to read.

Arg! Don’t mention water leaks. Our whole basement is under renovation because of water infiltration…So looks like you had a great month of August in reading. Hope you enjoy your reading this month too!

  26. Charlie

Water is very destructive! I am glad you guys caught it before it wound up being even more costly. You should totally be fine on the house for quite some time! Congrats on knocking 20 books off your list! That’s amazing.

  27. Karen Blue

Of course, I am working this holiday weekend. I work every Monday so that guarantees I will be working threw every Monday holiday 🙁
I hope your BBQ went well. We did order out some pork brisket at work this weekend, so I kinda got a bit of BBQ in for myself. Have a great week!

Have fun with family on this 3 day weekend. We are trying to stay cool hear in San. Fran. It’s reached 102 and only 80 at night. Way to hot… We are do for a cold front to come in this week. We need it to cool down. Happy Reading and stay Caffeinated.

  29. Joanne

Home repairs suck. Ugh. Hope it doesn’t prove to be too expensive. I’m 80% sure I have a leak too…only I can’t find it. Plus there’s a hurricane coming….maybe. Ah well. Que sera sera…right? Happy reading.

Water leaks terrify me! Hope you’re in the clear on house hiccups for a while 🙂 I love the Heartbreaker Bay series and excited to see that there’s a holiday book – I never seem to find good Christmasy-books when I need them!

Oh dang, Kimba! That is terrible. I’m so sorry to hear about the leak. I hope this is the end of your impromptu renos for a very long time.

  32. Lorna

Well you and your house certainly have been through the wringer! Glad you got it fixed before it did any more damage than it did. Glad you were able to have family time with a bbq this weekend. Now that I have been retired(retired way early) for ten years, weekends are pretty much the same as any other day around here. But I will take it! Enjoy your week!

  33. Steph

I hate water problems – we have a plug in dishwasher – you have to hook it up to the sink faucet and our water is so hot that it melted the lines and there was water everywhere in our kitchen. We decided to just wash everything by hand for now bc the water is so horrible on everything and we don’t want it to accidentally happen again.

I was tinkering on my website this week (I just thought I’d update to the new blogger theme styling). Then days before, I read on Quora about this person losing his Adsense account due to copyright infringement. He was basing his contents on The Wayback Machine (TWM). Of course, I visited the page and thought nothing of it. I don’t post often and I only saw highlighted numbers on the calendar which I thought was based on the days I posted. Now, you mentioned TWM in this post. When I visited this time, I clicked on the date and tadah! There’s a snapchat of my website on that day!

Obviously, I didn’t read what TWM was all about so that came as a surprise to me. I love how these all come together. Thanks for mentioning TWM, now I don’t have to keep uploading my old theme files on a demo page just to know how my old designs looked like. I can just see how my website design progressed throughout the years!

Btw, I’m not done with my design yet as there are still new conditional tags that I don’t understand. Anyway, thank you so much for being an angel to me right now.
