Hello! Afer a hellacious week, we arrived safely late Friday evening and are unplugged and having fun. On Tuesday I ended up in the ER after falling and splitting my foot open. Thankfully I should get stitches out on Tuesday and will still be able to hit the beach! Even though I am away, I have scheduled some great reviews and even revisited Harry Potter by listening on audio for the first time.  Sophia Rose will be here on Wednesday. Stay cool and caffeinated!

Oh, no! I’m sorry about your foot. I’m glad you still got to the beach. I LOVE HP on audio. I’ve listened to the series 3 times. Jim does such an awesome job. Hope the rest of your break is relaxing!

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your foot! Glad that the stitches will come out soon and not interfere with beach time!! I love feeling the sand under my feet. For me, there’s nothing more relaxing than the sound of water, whether that’s waves or rain. Have an awesome vacation!!

I hope your foot heals quickly and that you are able to enjoy your vacation. I love the Harry Potter audio books. That’s what really introduced me to listening to audio books and I’ve listened to them many times over the years. I hope to listen to the British versions someday. I’ve heard Stephen Fry’s narration is excellent.

  9. Anna Pittman

That’s crazy about your foot! And while on vacation! I’m glad it doesn’t seem to have ruined your trip.
I’ve never listened to the Harry Potter audiobooks but I’ve heard that the narrator is amazing 🙂

I’m so sorry to hear about your foot but at least you’ll be able to hit the beach soon! All or Nothing at All looks great. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it. Hope the remainder of your vacations goes smoothly! 🙂

I’m so sorry about your foot! It sucks to get hurt like that and even worse on vacation 🙁 I’m glad you’ll still get to hit the beach though!

I started listening to the British Version of Harry Potter for this first time around the 20th anniversary and I’m loving it. I’m on Goblet of Fire now : ) Have a great rest of your vacation!

  13. Jan

Oh, Kimba, that sounds awful about your foot. I’m glad you’ll get the stitches out soon and will be able to go in the ocean. Enjoy your time in North Carolina. There are some beautiful beaches there!

  14. Lark

I hope your foot feels better soon! At least you were still able to go on vacation, but I know being hurt on vacation sucks.

I love the audio version of Harry Potter — the American one read by Jim Dale, anyway. He does a great job! Thanks to our Potter-fan daughter, we also have the British ones read by Stephen Fry—one of these days, I’ll make time to listen to them. I mean, it’s Stephen Fry; they have to be good.

BTW, I goofed and hit enter on the linky before updating my link, so it goes to last week’s Sunday Post. I didn’t see a way to delete the link and repost it, so I just left it alone and hoped people would figure it out. I’m not firing on all cylinders this morning, I guess!

Sorry to hear about your foot. My daughter had to have two teeth pulled once on vacation. Hope you make it to the beach. Can you remove my link? I put in the wrong one. I will add the right one later. It is #69 Jo’s Book Blog. Thanks!

Ever so sorry to hear about the stitches. I am glad they will be out soon and hoping the cut is not causing too much pain. Enjoy the vacation my friend!

  18. Myrthe

Oh! Thank you for sharing my post! <3

Ouch, that fall sounds pretty painful, Can't believe it needed stitches and everything! Hope you'll start feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear about your foot! I’m glad you will still get to enjoy some beach time after the stitches are out. Relax and enjoy the rest of your NC days!

Oh my gosh! You poor thing. I hope you recover quickly and that this injury won’t unsettle your vacation too much. You are the queen of pre-scheduled posts and it motivates me to do the same. 😉

  21. Lorna

Sorry to hear about your injury. They always seem to happen at the worse possible time. Good to hear you can still do the beach thing

  22. RO

I hate that this happened to you but glad you’re on the mend. Many of living in NC wish we could join you on the Outer banks for some fun on the beach, so we’re sending the love. Have fun and be safe! Hugs…

Well crap! I’m sorry about your foot! That would drive me crazy to see the beach and water but not be able to enjoy it. My son had that problem when we went on vacation and he broke his arm 2 days before we left. He still came with us, but couldn’t participate in a lot of things. Enjoy your vacation! You’ve got some great posts coming up this week! I can’t wait!

    Hallo, Hallo!!

I am finally able to contribute my 1st #TheSundayPost! 🙂 I’ve been working on it bit by bit since Sunday, however, I’ve been recovering from the stomach flu; hence why it took me a couple of extra days to get it situated on my blog! I’m thankful to have been invited to join this meme by two new bookish friends in the blogosphere! I saw some bloggers I have visited and/or are following already in the linky – I look forward to getting acquainted with everyone as I start to make my rounds whilst I hope others enjoy getting to know me if they haven’t crossed paths with me as of yet. Hope everyone is having a bookishly wicked week!

PS: My goodness! I was so excited about posting my link, I never had the chance to read your medical emergency! 🙁 So very sorry this happened to you! I know how difficult it is to deal with foot injuries – I do hope you’ll have a speedy recovery or at the very least, find less pain as the days progress forward. Good to hear your someplace which bodes well for R&R and taking it easy! May your days get easier – I know how you feel about being ‘overloaded’ and just needing a bit of a break! Take good care of yourself!
