Sunday Post

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

We enjoyed another quiet week and avoided melting from the heat. You’ll garner no complaints from me, as I prefer it over the bitter cold. I didn’t get as much reading done this week as I would have liked but did get to watch the pilot for The Mist a television adaptation of Stephen King’s novella. It was good and should provide some entertainment this summer. The Royals spent the night again on Friday and I have a feeling Prince Clayton will be walking by the time I return home from vacation. I have some really cool giveaways in celebration of Audiobook month don’t miss your chance to enter. (see sidebar) I am now trying the free inlinkz version for linking.  Stay cool and caffeinated!

Ooh The Mist- that looks good. I wanna check it out, have to see what channel it’s on. I had a free Starz trial and was watching some stuff on that but canceled it, I have too many memberships already lol.

Hope your weather stays nice it was cooler today with a nice breeze but still 70’s, I could take that ALL summer long!

I read the first Julie McElwain as part of the Big Library Read, and enjoyed it. I’m definitely looking forward to the second one!

We’ve had a pretty mild weekend here, not as hot, it’s been really nice so far! Have a great week!

I love a good hand held page turner but nowadays they need to be hardcover or Kindle as my eyes and hands cannot handle those mass market paperbacks and their tiny print.

How old is Clayton? I can’t remember… I bet it’s going to get busier when he starts walking – and it will also be more fun for his sister 😉
Here, it’s been so hot I have hardly gotten any sleep this week, so I’m a bit grouchy 🙁 I hope it’ll cool down. We got some rain last night, and it feels kinda nice right now, but it’s still early.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading 🙂

I’m with you on preferring the sun to the cold – but I do then moan when it’s hot (typical English woman!). I need a constant temperature in the mid-70’s to keep me truly happy. I saw my first trailer for The Mist last night – will definitely be giving it a go! Have a good week.

Walking comes trouble. I don’t know. I am in NC right now, and it is so hot. Not sure how hot it is back home in NJ (probably the same), just not a fan of any extreme weather. I vote for spring and fall. Have a great week!

I don’t like the bitter cold or the heath. We had a very warm week last week and I am glad it cooled down a bit to more manageable temperatures. I noticed you reviewed Lost and Found Sisters and have Until It Fades on your schedule for next week, I have both of those on my to-read list as I got review copies, but haven’t read them yet. I hope you have a great week!

Glad to hear that you have had a quiet week for a change – you have been sooo busy recently, so it’s good to hear you managed to catch your breath. Though I’m guessing after the Royals’ visit you will need to put your feet up a while… Have another peaceful week, Kimber –

I agree, I prefer the heat to the bitter cold. I have to watch the Mist because I am in need of a summer show. Have a great week.

I have to take your word for it that bitter cold is worse than heat, as I’ve only rarely experienced cold below freezing. Heat can be pretty awful, though, especially when it is accompanied by the threat of a tropical storm as well (last week for us).

    Enjoy your reading week!

  10. A Voracious Reader

Boone took forever to get walking. He would get frustrated after one step and drop down to crawl because he was much faster that way. lol Now he’s toddling all over and looks less like a drunken sailor each day. I hope you have a wonderful week, Kim!

Happy to have you here Anne! Did you add your post to the linky? I looked for Anne @ The Reading Life or Anne Clarence but don’t see it. You should be added it above and not in the comment. Let me know if you need help. Click the blue Add your Link button.

Glad things were relatively calm for you this week! It’s funny, while our heat also took a bit of a break, I still prefer cold! You can always layer up and keep warm, but you can do nothing to stay cool when it’s hot. At least that’s how I’ve always seen it! LOL!

Nice new reads too! New to me ones but I hope you love them!

Is it a remake of The Mist, I thought they already made that into a mini series or movie? I could possibly be thinking of something else, too. Either way I’ll have to check that out thanks for the heads up. Have a great week!

I’m jealous! It’s so cold where I live at the moment which sucks because it’s been really nice the past two weeks. Sorry you haven’t done as much reading as you would have liked but glad you’ve had a great week.

    Have a great week!

I loved King’s movie, The Mist. I had no idea there was a TV adaptation! I’ll have to check that out.

Enjoy the heat! It’s been cooler and rainy, but we’ve desperately needed the rain. Have a great week!

Glad to hear that you stayed cool this past week. I love the heat but these triple digits are too much. That’s great that the Royals get to stay with you. One of my favorite parts of my childhood was spending the night at my grandparent’s house. I hope you enjoy your week and have a little better luck on your reading. I think summer makes it harder and you’ve got the little ones to keep you busy. Happy reading!!!

LOL! That Monster’s Inc. random is perfect! It was hot and humid this week here too, but like you, I’ll take the heat any day over the cold weather. Wicked Deeds sounds like it should be a pretty good read. I haven’t read Heather Graham’s books before but I do have a copy of Perfect Obsession that I hope to get to this week. I hope the upcoming week is another great one for you. 🙂

Wow, the Royals are growing up so fast. You’ll be getting a work out once Clayton starts walking and running (no matter how much you baby proof the house they find something to get their hands on lol). It’s been hot here but luckily it’s cooling down. I hope you have a great week!

What do you think of the Pottermore book club? I am not sure I understand all the details yet. I am rereading the series this year. I have read through book 4.

    • kimbacaffeinate

It just started and it looks like we read and then there are activities and chats on Twitter. It just started with book one.

  20. Michelle

I need to add The Mist to my watchlist. The new Binge Watchers Meme is going to get one heck of a work out.

Enjoy the vacation! You totally deserve it! It has been hot. rainy and breezy this week. It’s like NJ can’t make up it’s mind. I’m ok with it since I am inside in the AC waiting for Fall.

Have a great week, Kim! Happy Reading! ox

  21. Juli

Glad to hear everyone’s doing well. Alas, I don’t have Starz so won’t be catching up on the Mist (King gives me nightmares, anyway, eep!). Right now, tv-wise, I’m missing Once Upon a Time, (and hoping for a better seasons!)

(Speaking of fantastical creatures, love the Monsters Inc. banner!)

Anyway, Sounds like you have a great week forthcoming; I’ll be looking forward to those reviews, Kim! I’m hoping to finish up a Regency Romance I have on the audiobook pile. We’ll see how that pans out. Have a good week.

  22. Stacy Renee

Happy Sunday! It’s been hot here but mostly just in the 90’s. The humidity has been crazy after that week of rain wee got though so its a bit miserable to go outside.
I’m listening to Stephen King’s IT before the movie comes out but that and The Dark Tower are as far as I’m going with his adaptations for now. I’d be reading King all year if I tried to keep up with him and his movies! 🙂

I have read all of King, and for the past 3 years have listened to new releases. I am hoping to do a reread of the Dark Tower on audio before the movie. I have reread It several times

  23. Maureen Bakker

Wow..Time goes by so fast. It seems only like yesterday I saw your picture of baby Clayton! It’s been really hot here too.. Although I love the warmer weather, a little less heat would have been good too. LOL!
Have a great week and happy reading! 😉

That coffee meme has me rolling! I am glad you are surviving the heat. It has picked up here. I have a small cold (I hate summer colds) and yet it is well over 90 out.. haha. I forgot about the Mist! Thank you for the reminder. Must look into that today 🙂 Have a wonderful week!

  25. Ardis

It’s great that you get to see your family and have a vacation! Your books look (sound?) great. I wish I had more followers so I could start requesting audio books. They are some of my favorite ways to read. Have a beautiful week. And thank you for being steady with the Sunday Post, Another meme (that shall remain silent) is so spotty with doing their post, that I may give up on them altogether!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Sorry to hear that. I never miss, even if I go on vacation, the Sunday Post is scheduled. So many peeps love visiting all the blogs on Sunday mornings, and for some, this provided the most visits to their blogs. I will pass your name and blog on to the Penguin Random Audio as I see you enjoy YA.

  26. Katherine

How can Prince Clayton be close to walking??? It seems like he just got here! I think children and babies especially progress on double speed! Enjoy your vacation! I’m really looking forward to Wicked Deeds! I loved the couple in Dying Breath and can’t wait to see what adventures they have next. Thanks so much for the mention! Just link your post on the linkup though you could also link your board. I’ll be sure to clarify in July. Have a great week!

Cute totally radome this week. Eek no coffee yet… run away ^_^ Hope you enjoy your new books. That’s great that your week was quite. My son went to Lego camp this week. he had a blast. I got 3hrs to myself, which was wonderful.
    Have a wonderful week.

I had no idea another of King’s books was hitting the big screen (again, wasn’t there a movie too?). Nice to hear you got sometime with the Royals (thats such a cute pet name). I hope you enjoy your vaca. Have a great week!

  29. Laura Fabiani

You’ve got me curious about The Mist. Enjoy your new books. I’m off to read one of your reviews.

P.S. I prefer the heat to the bitter cold too. 🙂

  30. Dragonfly

Yay for quiet summer weeks! I love the heat too [at least prefer it over the cold :] It feels I haven’t watched Stephen King movies forever! I should check out the Mist! oh Prince Clayton walking! That’s great I think thye look super cute when they start wlaking 🙂
now off to see your new review and to check Katherine’s “52 Pins in 52 Weeks“! I love Pinterest! 🙂 Thanks for sharing her link 🙂

  31. Tyler H. Jolley

Oh man, I love the stage right before they start walking. It’s such a confidence builder. Good luck Prince Clayton! I’m so glad you reminded me of The Mist. I’ve been so busy I forgot to set my DVR.

  32. Lorna

I will take the bitter cold as long as I have heat. Not a fan of summer! I just had gall bladder surgery on Friday so I am staying in out of the heat. Can’t believe Clayton is old enough to walk!
Stay cool and have a great week!
