Sunday Post

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

It was a quiet week. Don’t you just love those? It felt good to return to blogging and to be able to once again visit everyone. We had planned to take a staycation this summer and do a couple of DIY projects but booked a trip to North Carolina mid-July.  I will be gone 2 weeks, but already have the blog scheduled. We will be staying with family on the coast. Just my hubby and I are going, so I imagine we will have a relaxing time.  After the past few months, I think it will be good to get away and just be. Our weather is warming up, but you will get no complaints from me. While I am not a fan of humidity, the warmer weather is good for my joint pain. Flip-flops and iced coffee make me smile. How was your week? I hope the week ahead holds a five star read/listen. Be sure and enter all of the giveaways! Stay Caffeinated!

I’m glad your week has been nice and quiet, Kim 🙂 It’s important to have those kinds of weeks every now and then. I hope I will have more of those myself now that I’ve finished with my thesis and my defense.
The widget in the link-up is good, it was a bit confusing on the mobile site, as everything is so small, but once I went onto my computer instead, it was all good.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

A relaxing vacation sounds great! I think I need one of those to recover from my vacation…lol. Have fun! I love the thumbnail version as I recognize blogs better from their little picture than names, I know that is horrible but it’s how my brain works. 🙂

Thanks, Di. For a last minute trip, we are prepared. I have to pick up a few outfits. Working at home and watching the Royals have my clothes looking a little ragged..LOL

    • kimbacaffeinate

We have done those since we live so far away and family comes to visit. Those are fun too, but more work. I will be on the guest this time.

Quiet weeks are definitely the best. And it sounds like you’re going to have a great relaxing time in July. I was a little in shock when I read that you already have the blog scheduled?! I wish I was able to schedule everything so good. I’m a big planner, but somehow with my blog it doesn’t always work out the way I want it to.
The link-up widget took some getting used to, and it doesn’t really work that well on my Phone but on the pc it works perfectly! 😉
Have a great week Kimberly and happy reading!

I am done all of June and most of July. I have 3 arcs and 3 audios yet to listen to. If I didn’t schedule ahead I could never post as often as I do.
You are not the first to mention linkup issues with phones. I am thinking the images make the blog post super long, and will go back to just text next week.

  5. Sam

I have been seeing The Garden of Small Beginnings everywhere! I think I need to read this book.

Yesterday was supposed to be in the 90s but it ended up having quite a strong breeze so it wasn’t nearly as bad as it could have been! Vacations are exciting and I love to relax on vacation! I hope you and the hubs have a great time. 🙂

Your vacation sounds lovely – I know we have one booked for end of July which I can’t wait for and our lives haven’t been half as adventurous as yours so the break must be very welcomed.

Last year we did a huge 2-week trip and took everyone to Jersey shore, so we thought we would do a staycation, but I am glad my hubby said we needed this. I am so ready!

  8. Lola

It’s nice to have a quiet week once in a while. It’s fun to plan your vacation ahead and it sounds like you’ll have a relaxing time there. The warmer weather is good for my skin as I usually have very dry skin, but I hate the humidity. I prefer the milder weather, but don’t like the very warm or cold weather. I hope you have a great week!

Yay for quiet weeks. I love those! Your vacation to North Carolina sounds wonderful, Kimba. We haven’t decided if we’re taking a longer vacation this summer. We have several shorter driving trips planned and have talked about a trip to the west coast. We’ve got lots going on here right now so we’ll have to see if there’s time for a trip.

I have to admit I had some trouble with the magical widget. I got my thumbnail uploaded, but then it didn’t show up on your list. Finally I decided to close everything down and start over. When I came back it was there! I probably uploaded a half dozen to your page…lol

Yeah, I am not impressed and will go back to text only next week. I miss the old linky but not paying that ridiculous price. No, it isn’t that, its the monthly billing they force you into, How stupid.

  10. A Voracious Reader

Yay! You’re going to be in my neck of the woods. Well, sorta since I live outside Greensboro. We’re only about 3.5 – 4.5 hrs away from the coast depending on which part of the coast. We can shoot down 40 to Wilmington in the shortest amount of time. I hope you have a great time!

Oops! I added twice because I goofed on the URL — #38 is last week, #39 is this week. I’m so sorry!

Your NC vacation sounds lovely! It’s important to have some time together as a couple. I need to find some time for Mr. Bookwyrm and I to spend together. We’re doing mostly family stuff with our vacations this year.

  12. Jessica

Ooh nice! Glad you’ll have yourself a little vacation! I still have nothing planned and it’s driving me bonkers! If simply just because I want something to look forward to and help get me through the work weeks! Lol!

Nice new reads! Love Chloe Neill’s books! Can’t wait to read this one myself!

Flip-flops and iced coffee makes me smile as well. Though it’s slowly becoming full-blown summer here and soon I don’t know if the iced coffee will make up for the 100-degree heat!

Yay vacation! I’m glad it will be so relaxing. My son and I go to the beach in September and I can’t wait!

I really like the thumbnail option, but unfortunately it won’t let me add a picture, so I can’t join the linky. That’s kind of a bummer. I’ll try on my laptop, and then if that doesn’t work, there’s always next week!

Flip flops are my thing too. I can’t wait to go away to the beach in August. I’m focusing on audio this month since it’s audiobook month. Enjoy your new books!

  16. Kathy

I love quiet time and we finally have some too. It’s been almost 2 months since I had a Sunday post because life was crazy. It feels good to get back to normal. Your vacation sounds relaxing and I hope you have a nice time. I also received How the Witch Stole Christmas and it’s hard to believe how fast this year is going. I hope you have a great week!

I’ve missed your Sunday Posts, although to be honest, I haven’t been visiting much on Sundays with kids injuries, deaths and illness. Sucky first half of the year for me

  17. Rita

Yay for quiet weeks! Too bad you weren’t going to NC a bit later in the summer… we will be moving to our home on the midcoast there the second week of August! After our cross-country move we’re definitely doing stay-cation this year!

I’m interested in several of your titles, including About A Dog. Enjoy another less stressful week ahead.

Well, I have tried two different browsers and it will not let me join the link! I picked multiple different images (from site, from computer, gravitar) and I click “Done” then it asks me if I want to close the window. If I hit yes, it takes me back and still requires me to hit next. If I hit Cancel i get an error message that says “Missing op”. Anyone have any ideas that might help?

Hi! It’s 9o here in Indianapolis today. Hottest day of the year for us. The kids want to go to the pool, but it’s really, really HOT! I did a great job with the May ARC challenge, but have not read nearly as many so far in June. Ahh! And I still have yet to read a Kresley Cole book.

Right. Normally I am not a holiday book reader other than November and December, but this book released in November and took this long to go to audio.

  20. Melissa (My words and pages)

Oh nice to get a little trip! 😀 So glad you enjoyed yourself. I’ve had a few busy weeks here with graduation for kiddo. But, now it’s time to get back on schedule. 🙂 Have a great week!

  21. Shaunesay

Yay for vacation and COYER! We’re doing a staycation this year and maybe making towards the east next year in April, though nothing is planned yet. I’ve never been too many places east other than Ohio to see friends and family.

We were both born and raised in on the East Coast and have lived in three states along the beach, so it is always nice to go back to visit.

  22. Michelle

Staycations are so nice, I have’t had one of those in a very long time. Looks like this year will be spotty on vacations since my boss did a sneaky move and I lost all my vacation days. He just didn’t tell us until it was already too late. Very pissed about it so I might have to take a week off with no pay if I want to go away. Going to try and make up hours.

I hope you have a great week, Kim! Happy Reading! ox

Oh my goodness I put my link on there 4 times! It wasn’t showing up and then I refreshed and there they were. Please feel free to delete all but one of the links please~

  24. Olivia

I’m super glad for the warmer weather as well as my shoulder and mouse arm have been giving me trouble :/ but on the other hand I *really* don’t do well with heat….
Your week sounds lovely 🙂 Have a great one!

I’m glad you got some R&R time! The weather is certainly warmed up and I’m scared it is going to get too hot. Like The Geeky Blogger, I’m not a fan of TX heat. Although I do love my flip flops. My husband has been keeping it incredibly cold in the house, so no flip flops inside. I’m actually wearing fluffy socks with fluffy slippers. And it’s May in TX. I’m strange like that! LOL I hope you have a fabulous trip!

  26. Kat

That’s so funny … I just got back from a week’s vacation in North Carolina! Hopefully it’s warmer when you go – I was shocked I spent most of the week in jeans and sweatshirt! My brother and his kids live there, though, so we of course had to fit in a beach day! Luckily, that was the day the weather warmed up. Have a great week, and I hope fabulous reads are in your future! <3

It’s warming up here, too. I’m a cold weather person, but I do enjoy being able to get out the flip flops and see the kids playing outside so its a win. Neat about the NC trip to see family. And yes quiet weeks are great. 🙂

    Enjoy those new books.

I love your book haul and hope you enjoy those new books.
That’s fabulous it was a quit week. This was my son’s first full week without school. The change has taking mom and dad some getting use too, but we made it. We have soccer and swim classes for him to attend this summer, so we are good.
Have a wonderful week. Happy Reading!

  29. MarthaE

I hope I haven’t entered my link a half dozen times. It just stays in the box and if I hit enter it takes me back to the thumbnail screen.
Glad you had a quiet week – I could use one of those. Glad you are enjoying the warmer weather and I hope you are feeling all better.
I like the looks of several of your new titles, Sworn to Protect and The Hunt especially. And of course Robyn Carr. Happy Reading!

  30. Melanie Simmons

I”m not a fan of hot weather. I like it cold. I’m always able to put on more clothing to keep warm, but I can only take off so much. I do understand the joint pain though. I have it sometimes. I hope you have a good vacation in July. It sounds nice. I’m hoping to have a trip with just DH and me (and the puppy), but not sure when yet. Hope you have a great week.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks, Melanie, before my RA I use to love the cold and wouldn’t even wear a coat. Now the winter months keep me completely indoors.

  31. Tyler H. Jolley

I’m glad you planed a trip. I had a great weekend, I edited 82 pages which was huge, I’ve been in a editing slump. How are your lungs? I hope you’re feeling better.

  32. Dragonfly

I do love quiet weeks! I need one so badly. I’m glad you were able to catch up with your blogging. 🙂 As you can see I’m still behind 🙂 but I think next week will be kinda quiet and I hope to do the same. AHHH a “hubby and I” only trip sounds fantastic! I hope you bring lotsa flip flops with you Kim 🙂
