Sunday Post

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

This was one of those weeks where I accomplished a lot but ended the week feeling like nothing got done. Have you ever felt that way? I did our taxes which entailed organizing my business’s earnings and expenses. So many tiny receipts to go through. I saw something on late night TV where you scan paper receipts and it downloads them onto your computer. I want it.  I completely reorganized my author’s social media files to make things simpler for me and did some minor cleaning. I barely read. Ok, I finished two books and one audio, but for me that is awful. I am currently 5 books behind for the year.  Did someone slip Mother Nature a little something? Cause she is acting crazy.  Our temps have been weird with high’s in the 60’s and 70’s all week. The blog reached an exciting milestone on Thursday. Caffeinated has over 100k followers on Bloglovin’. I actually had to change my widget counter because the old blue one only goes to 99995. I will be visiting you all throughout the day and look forward to hearing your news and checking out your newest book finds. Have a wonderful week and stay caffeinated!

That is a slow week for you 🙂 but sounds like you’ve been busy! And congrats on the followers!! It’s been nicer here than normal for this time of year- not that I’m complaining! 🙂 I could use some 70’s though…

    Have a great week.

I’ve heard good things about A Perilous Undertaking.

I really like the series Greg and hope you try them. It is 70 here again, today. Of course, it could snow next week, but I will enjoy the warmth while I can.

I love your “totally random” this week. How did you know that I wore my PJs all day? LOL.

Tax time changes everything, doesn’t it? I had my appointment this week, too.

Enjoy your new books….and catching up on your reading.

We’ve had some big storms in the south of the country and I think there’s a cyclone towards the north, but my bit of Australia remains hot and dry unfortunately!

I’ve seen programs and apps that scan receipts etc… I’m a bit the opposite. I like my lists!

Our temps have been the same pretty much all winter, with a few cold snaps here and there. It’s been spring here for a while and everyone is in this weird cold/allergy hell right now. I just want it to even out, lol.
We have one of those little scanners, it’s super helpful. I think it’s a Neat brand scanner.

I hope you have an awesome week Kim!

I had same sort of week, but it was more of finishing up work. And still I feel like I’ve done nothing the entire week. Congrats on the followers! That’s such a great achievement 🙂 Hope you have a great week ahead! 🙂

Yes, I’ve definitely had weeks like that! Where things seem to get done, but not all of them, or in a way that isn’t totally satisfactory.
I’m glad you got your taxes done already – way to go with over a month left before the final deadline 😉
I only read one book last week, but I did get a lot of family time in Norway, which was a blast.
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.

  7. Maureen Beatrice

I totally get what you’re saying Kimberly. That happens to me a lot too. Frustrating really!
I’m so jealous that a bad reading week for you still entails reading two books and one audio. Whahaha.. That is a good week for me. I can’t wait for my week vacation in March.
And congrats on the 100k on Bloglovin. That’s awesome!
Have a great week and happy reading!

It sounds like you got a lot done this week. Those annoying jobs that take up so much time but then make you feel like you got nothing else done are a pain but it’s always good to have them out of the way. The weather in the UK where I live is really odd at the moment too – really cold one day and then higher than normal temps for the season another day.

I had them in envelopes per month..but then breaking them down into supplies, meals, travel etc..gads! It was nice to hit the milestone..thank you.

  9. Vi

My very first Sunday Post. Hope you don´t mind that I am joining in :-). You sound like you´ve got way more done than I did the past week. Here in Germany, the weather is like in April. One day rain and warm, the next cold with some snow and then back to warm and sunny again.

Have a great new week and hopefully more time to read books.

    Best wishes

I hate weeks like that as it makes me feel like I got nothing done, while I did. I keep track of all my expenses in a spreadsheet throughout the year, which makes it easier for when tax season rolls around, but it always still takes a bunch of time. I’ll have to do that soon too.

The weather seems a bit weird here too, last weekend we got a bit of sow and now it’s been very mild weather again, it’s strange. And wow that’s a great milestone to reach so may bloglovin followers! congrats! Have a great week!

I do the same for purchases but those little receipts..yuck! Thank you and I think everyone is experiencing weird weather. Global Warming is a myth my ass. LOL

    • kimbacaffeinate

Bwahaha..that is exactly how I felt. Especially since I do them myself 🙂 So far this weekend I have managed 2 reads, so I am feeling better about that. Hopefully the trend continues and I can be on the plus side of my Goodreads goal.

  11. Di

Ugh – I hate weeks like that! You end up doing so many small things but then you don’t feel like you’ve accomplished all that much – but you HAVE!

My reading is terrible at the moment – I’m a few books behind already too. Hopefully I’ll have a less crazy week this week!

Congrats on the HUGE milestone! That’s AMAZING!!!!

Pajamas ALL DAY sounds like a perfect idea… I should have done that for today.

Hope you have a good week this week!

I have no idea what that stupid Goodreads number bothers me. The “you are 5 book behinds” makes me twitchy! LOL Thank you. I am excited and proud to have reached this milestone.
No PJ’s for me today, but comfy close to it! I work from home and some days I shower and put on clean pjs. Love it!

  12. Grace

I hate when I get a lot done but it doesn’t really feel like it. The weather has been nuts!! I was so happy to have beautiful weather yesterday to get outside with the kids. Congrats on that milestone – that is awesome! Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

Yes, our air conditioner actually kicked on yesterday. It is crazy, but I am not fooled we still have March and April weather to get through.

  13. Olivia

I’m behind on my reading as well. The weather over here is just grey, it’s depressing. The temperatures are fine, I’d just like to see the sun! Red Sister looks like a good book, can’t wait to hear your thoughts. I wish you a great Sunday 🙂

Congrats for your 100k bloglovin followers! Amazing achievement, Kim. Happy for you. I hope you have a great week. 😀

  15. Melissa (My words and pages)

Oh yea. I know weeks like that. It’s crazy when you feel that way. As for Mother Nature, I’ve been asking is she’s on crack. lol. I know we have crazy weather here, but this is out of the norm. It’s wacko!

    Have a good week!

  16. Stormi Johnson

The weather is very strange this year, but I am afraid Mother Nature is waiting for us to enjoy the nice weather and the bam…lol. We get some of our worst weather in March here in Mo. but I am enjoying the nice weather. 🙂 Wow, that is a lot of followers, how do you do it?!

    Have a great week!

Oh yes, we have had snow in May, so I am not breaking out the flip-flops just yet. Although I am sitting here in a pair of shorts!
I am really proud of that number especially since I don’t do many giveaways that require following me. I think and hope it’s because I post consistently and people like my content.

  17. Nick

Sounds like a very busy week, Kim! I’m sure you’ll catch up on your reading in no time! And that’s a fantastic milestone you’ve reached. Congrats!
I can’t wait to read Etched in Bone. I’m thinking of picking it up next week though I’m a little sad the series is over. At least we have a spinoff to look forward to though.
    Happy reading, Kim!

  18. Jessica

It’s weird that you mention crazy weather because we’ve had it too! 60s and 70s in February is very weird! And our groundhog apparently told us there’d be more winter! I want more winter…minus snow! Lol!!

Nice new reads! I also got a (keeper) copy of The Turn and Etched in Bone! Now I just need to get caught up and finish Anne’s series! Can’t believe I fell so behind again! LOL! Happy Reading!

Congrats on your milestone! I also felt very behind this week, but I’m trying not to beat myself up about it and you shouldn’t either. I’m really looking forward to the TBR readathon in March. One of my big goals for this year is to finally read all the books on my shelf (literally and digitally) that I’ve been putting off reading for years. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! xoxo

  22. A Voracious Reader

I have days and weeks like that all the time. I feel like a cartoon character trying to run away, but their legs aren’t going anywhere. But when I start ticking things off I realize I actually did get stuff done. lol I have no idea what’s going on with Ma Nature. We’re definitely in Spring-mode here with blooming dogwoods and bulbs and open windows. It’s ridiculous. Congrats on the bloglovin’ milestone!! I hope you have a fantastic week, Kim!

It sounds like you got a lot done, Kimba, but I do know the feeling of not much accomplished. That was my week, too. I feel like I was buy all week, but when I actually go back and review what I did–not so much! The weather did entice me outside some.

‘m behind with my reading already, too. But two books a week is on-track for me…lol. It’s the weeks I haven’t done that so that now I need a few weeks of more than three books. I hope we both have a great reading week!

Ugh, I really need to finish up my taxes today, and my brain is so mushy. It sounds like you accomplished a lot to me!

The weather here right now is gorgeous. I wish it could stay like this all year round.

Ooh, you got a copy of Red Sister. I’m so looking forward to that one!

  25. Laura

You DID get a lot done this past week! I’m dreading doing my taxes. Yeah…the weather is going nuts. I like the look of Juliet;s Answer. Will look into it. And congrats on your 100K followers!!

  26. Whitney

I’m reading The Orphan’s Tale right now and will have to stop by and read your review once I’ve finished. At the moment, I’m really curious as to where it is going. The weather has been wacky here as well, although I’ll take 60 degree weather over below 20 any day! Have a great week Kim!

Wow, Kimba, your blog is rockin’ it! Congratulations on 100K followers on Bloglovin’ — that’s awesome!

Yesssss! I hate that feeling. Usually, it’s not a whole week, but just a day that feels discombobulated like that. It’s only when actually taking inventory of what I did that I realize it was a productive day. 🙂 You sound like you got a bit done that needed doing.

Congrats on the milestone number on Bloglovin and very nice stack of haul books.

    Have a great week, Kimberly!

  29. Amanda

It decided to rain this weekend where I dwell. Goodbye, sunshine; we’ll see you next week… =(
I love the idea of the Take Control of Your TBR Challenge. I might clear out all of March to do just that, if I can swing it! ^_^

I feel like that most weeks. You so should buy that receipt scanner. I’m sure it would save you quite a bit of time and make things easier on you. SUPER CONGRATULATIONS on reaching such a major milestone!! What an incredible feat!

  31. Heidi

Glad to know I am not the only one struggling with reading. I think I finished three books this last week, which is okay. I am four up on my goal for the year, but I am sure that will change. Nothing seems to be grabbing me. I am going to read Mercy Thompson this week so that should help. Hopefully you have a better week I hear you on the weather. We have had torrential rain and sunshine this week. So ready for spring.

  32. Angela

I dislike tax time and getting everything together. No fun! Yesterday was a Pajama Day All Day for everyone in the house. It was nice to just hang. I’ve got my parents in town visiting this week and the weather is calling for more rain in San Fransisco, CA. Dang, I’m tired of rain. Lovely book haul you got. Hope you enjoy. Happy reading!

  33. Kristin

Congratulations on a super fantastic week, girl!!!! Hey, you can’t be Wonder Woman and DO everything! I think 3 books is great considering everything else you did!! 100K!!! Woot!!

I couldn’t post today b/c I broke my computer…. oops!! I really shouldn’t do that, right??? I fixed it today, hopefully. It’s a graphics driver thing so it ain’t a nice easy thing to fix. Buuuuut I think I almost got it fixed. PHEW!!! 🙂 Talk to you soon…

    • kimbacaffeinate

Glad you got it fixed. Me I would be going to Best Buy and buying a whole new But, I want to be wonder woman. *boo* In retrospect I did get a lot done, it was behind the scenes type stuff and I am already enjoying the benefits. Now to stay awake to read!

  34. Tanya

Congrats on the Blovin numbers! You certainly deserve it! You’ve got a great blog going here. This week was one of those weeks where you feel like you need a sweater in the morning but are sweating by the end of the day. We’re supposed to get wet tomorrow, so maybe we’ll even out, even though I hate driving in the rain. Have a great week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Yes, that was our week. Our air conditioner even kicked on. Sadly, but next weekend we will be freezing our bums off again! Thank you for your kind words Tanya.

  35. ShootingStarsMag

Wow, congrats on all the bloglovin followers! That’s so awesome! I can’t really imagine having that many followers on ANY channel. hah Someday I hope! I hope you get more reading done this week. Congrats on the 100K followers!
I am pretty close to goal on reading but want to catch up on reviews and cross posting.
I almost picked up The Red Sister – it sounds good. I’ll have to hunt down The Turn as I enjoyed the Hollows series.
I hope you have a lovely week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

This will be my first go with the author so I hope it’s good. I am caught up on review writing. i just need to bump up the books read #.

  37. Laurie

You are so cute. I consider a very good week of reading two books and an audio! Seriously though it sounds like you accomplished quite a bit this week. I’ve been fiddling with the taxes too. Ugh, I despise doing taxes.

  38. Tyler H. Jolley

Cognats on the 100K milestone, Kimba! Your hard work and dedication has really paid off! And yes, mother nature has been nutty lately. We’ve had the same nice weather. It’s been muddy, but awesome!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I am trying to enjoy it while it lasts…we get downright cold again by the end of the week. Soon we will all be sick from not knowing how to dress.

  39. Nereyda

Wow, congrats on the 100K followers! My last week felt the same too. I had so much going on with life and my kids school and yet I somehow ended up doing nothing. So it was busy but not in the usual way. I hope this week is going better so far for us both!
