Good Morning Everyone! The past week has been incredibly busy for me between client work and family. Princess Sophia had tubes placed in her ears this week. Poor little thing never got sick until after her first birthday and then just kept getting constant ear infections. Hopefully she is done with all that. Winners of my Vacation-Blogoversary have all been contacted and I will ship out prizes mid-week. I can smell Fall or maybe it’s the pumpkin coffee being sold at my local food store..lol  I just cannot believe next week is Labor Day weekend! I hope the week ahead brings you joy and for goodness sake stay Caffeinated!

My daughter also had to have tubes in her ears at that age. It was so much better afterwards. Hope it works out for Sophia.

Enjoy your books. I can’t wait to read my copy of It Ends With Us. Enjoy your week.

Poor Princess Sophia. I think it’s quite common for little children to have to get grommets or something in their ears isn’t it? Hopefully this will help.

It’s spring here this coming week and it barely feels as if we’ve had a winter! At least we have a little while until summer descends on us! It’s beautiful weather at the moment though!

PS. I’m back after a little break. So, hi! xxxx

Ah Spring is lovely. Yes, ear infections are quite common and they say teething has nothing to do with it..but Sophia didn’t get her first tooth till late and then suddenly infection after infection!

Aww best wishes for the little one, my sister had to have tubes in her ears too for ear infections. I know what you mean, this week it really hit me that fall is coming and I’m looking forward to pumpkin spice lattes now. Bring em on lol.

    Have a great week Kimba!

Poor Sophia 🙁 I hope the tubes will help so she won’t suffer from ear infections anymore! I’m ready for fall now, too, Kim. My kids are back to school tomorrow, so the feeling of shorter days and colorful leaves is starting to come closer 🙂
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  5. Michelle

Poor Sophia! I had constant ear infections up until about 3, and my brother had tubes in his ears as well. I think it’s pretty common oddly enough, which is sad because I can still remember the pain and all the crying I did. 🙁 I hope she feels better soon!!

I’m still waiting on my entire states’ library system to get it’s act together for It Ends with Us. They have 8 copies now, but won’t allow the book to be placed on hold at all. I’m still mystified at how the entire Pines library system which is basically the top of half of the state only has 8 copies. Hopefully I’ll have it soon!

Aww! Poor Sophia. I hope this will help. It can’t be fun being that young and suffering from ear infections. I hope you get to rest a bit soon too, but it’s also good that you’re not dying of boredom.
I hope you enjoy all your new reads this week, Kim. The Operator sounds really interesting!

It sure felt like fall yesterday . . . I am ready for it! I am sorry to hear about Sophia and hope the tubes help. My daughter has an ear infection at the moment. She thought she was dying Friday night–and so we made a trip to the doctor’s office, me all the while assuring her she would survive this. I hope you have a great week!

The tubes should do the trick. My nephew had horrible ear infections and they helped him out a lot. Shhh… I don’t want to talk about fall yet, ha ha, we just started getting decent summer temps here. It had been so hot no one wanted to do anything. We have started enjoying being outside finally! Have a super week. 🙂

My nephew had tubes put in his ears and it worked, so hopefully the same can be said for Princess Sophia.

Fall! Already?! Wasn’t it just Easter?! Hard to believe that 2016 is nearly 67% complete. As I waved bye to my husband this morning (he was heading to work) and it was kinda dark out I was wondering when DST was. I shouldn’t be thinking that yet! lol

Sorry to hear about Sophie having those ear infections, I hope the tubes work and she won’t have them anymore now.

I haven’t listened to audiobooks myself yet, but from what i hear from other bloggers who review audiobooks narration is really important, so adding a rating for narration to your audiobook reviews sounds like a good idea! Have a great week!

I very much hope the grommets work out for poor little Sophia – I had a series of ear infections as a child and can recall just how painful they were… In the meantime, we’ve been having some properly warm weather – though of course it’s raining today. It’s bound to, being the Bank Holiday week-end. Hope you have a great week, Kimberley.

  12. Lillian

Poor Sophia 🙁 I hope the tubes help and she has no more infections. Ear infections are the worst for littles!

I can’t believe fall is almost here either. But I’m ready for it. Love the cooler temps, football and all things cinnamon 😀

Hope you have a great week! Happy reading!

Aww! Poor Sophia! To be sick so soon after her big birthday! That’s no fun! Hope she’ll be feeling better asap!

Nice new reads! I really need to read The Operator now! I’ve had that on my kindle for awhile! Whoops! lol! Hope you have a great reading week!

Ear tubes are great but it’s so extremely unbearable when your kid is back in surgery for those 10 minutes, right?!?!? I’ve done it 5 times and it never gets better. I hope Sophia is feeling much better! I’m sure she is 🙂

I was totally wondering if you were going to add narration ratings someday. Melanie (Hot Listens) has tabs or something on her authors and narrators and it looks awesome!!! I can’t wait to see what you do!!!

Did you get any new books? I didn’t even pay attention… I was too excited to make your post *jiggly happy dance*

    It’s the little things… 🙂 Happy Sunday!!!

    • kimbacaffeinate

She did well, but was clingy and slept a lot that day. Thankfully, her Mommy has flex-time and was able to take the day.

Oh, I just added a new line in my book that says Narration Rating. I will just rate with numbers. I would love to add little microphones or something..but for now…it will do nicely. Ashley gave a little course on how to add new category for Books and did that.

I got two awesome books lady! .

  15. Michelle

I saw the Hohoho Last week and thought OMG I need to do that again this year and then I realized I don’t have any Christmas Books to read *GASP* I need to get looking! 🙂

My daughter used to get ear infections all the time but the doctor never put tubes, not sure why. She doesn’t get them as much, but when she gets sick its usually an ear infection. I hope she feels better soon.

PUMPKIN EVERYTHING SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!!!!

Have a great week, Kim! Happy Reading! ox

LOL, they are starting to appear on NetGalley etc. I think it depends on why they get them, or if any other illness are involved. Sophia only had ear infections.

  16. Angela Adams

Aw….I’m sorry to hear about Sophia, and hope she’s not too uncomfortable. I walked by a Center City bistro and saw my first ad for pumpkin spice coffee. Although we’re still sweating in Philly, Fall is in the air.

  17. Melissa (My World...in words and pages)

Oh hope Sophie does well with the tubes. It seems to have a great turn out for the kids when they get them.

Hope you have a bit of a calmer week this week and get all caught up. 😉 Take care!

  18. Whitney

My brother had tubes in his ears as well (I think it was around the same age as Sophia) . Ryan has always had ear/nose problems but the tubes did help when he was younger. I hope she feels better and that you have a nice upcoming week.

Sounds like you’ve had your hands full. Ear tubes are no fun poor little princess. Hopefully, they will clear up and be done with them. I remember a friends daughter having them for a while they aren’t awful and helped a lot. I hope you enjoy your new books. I’m so excited for HoHoHo read-a-thon. I hope you have a great week. Happy reading!!!

I hope the little one feels better! Constant ear infections are the worst! And I feel fall in the air, too…we’re experiencing below normal temps in my region and it is the best and has me longing for even cooler weather.

I love when blogger reviews do their job and convince us to read books we’ve been tempted by for awhile. I’ll definitely be picking up Marrow sooner rather than later because of your review. 🙂

Awe, thanks so glad I tempted you. Our weather for the past two weeks has been fall like..but today Mother Nature is reminding us it is still summer!

  21. Berls

Poor princess Sophia 🙁 ear infections are the worst – I hope the tubes have her feeling better super fast! I really enjoyed Felicia’s opinion piece too – I always talk about narrators but have been thinking I need to start rating them like she does too.

Have a great week Kimba 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

I always do a separate paragraph too, but sometimes the story doesn’t work even if the narration is good..so I added the rating

  22. Tanya

My son had to have tubes in his ears. We did not know there was any problem until his first drum rupture. Scared the crap out of me. Doctor said he must have one heck of a pain tolerance. I hope little Sophia’s ear problems are over. Those tubes can be such a relief. I am going to try so hard to get in on a read-a-thon. I haven’t done one in forever. Unfortunately I’m not that great at challenges, so I hope you get lots of experienced bloggers step up for you!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Honestly she was never fussy with the infections and had no symptoms until she spiked fevers. Hopefully this ends it. Yes, the elves are lining up! Thank you though 🙂

  23. Jan

Sorry to hear Sophia had to have tubes in her ears. I hope they help. I have a hard time thinking Labor Day is next week. It seems like Memorial Day was just a couple weeks ago. I do love fall though so I’m looking forward to falling leaves, cooler temps and fall beverages.

I hope you have a good reading week, Kimba!

Poor Princess! Hope the tubes help. I was lucky and none of my babies every had ear infections but I had friends whose little ones struggled with them and it was so awful. Fall doesn’t get here until September – mid October but I am ready! I’m tired of shorts and being so freaking hot all the time! Have a great week!

Yeah, my babies were fine too. We had strange fall like temps for two weeks, but summer is back. Our temps can be weird and I have had years where I didn’t need to turn heat on until after Thanksgiving.

  25. Tressa

Oh, the poor girl! My kids lucked out with not having that issue, but it is fairly common. I’m ready to get a lot done this week, so hopefully I will. 🙂

I also need to see if I have some holiday books I need to read for your RAT. I keep forgetting to look, so I’ll have to get on that.

    Have a fabulous week!

  26. Lorna

I am looking forward to It Ends With Us. I was going to listen but it sells for less than what I pay for a credit, so I will probably just buy the book. I am okay with that although I am really loving listening to books these days!
I hope the tubes do well for Sophia and keep her from getting sick. Have a great week 🙂

  27. Charlie

I can’t believe fall is so close, either! I feel like my internal calendar is off. Ear infections make you feel so bad. I still get one every once in a while as an adult. I hope the tubes help Sophia and she no longer gets ear infections. I was supposed to get them as an infant but didn’t for some reason. Drink up the pumpkin everythings!

  28. ShootingStarsMag

Aw, poor Sophia! I have really bad ears – a surgery in each of them during the last few years – so people always ask if I had tubes as a kid. I didn’t! I guess they got bad as I got too old for them. I hope she’s feeling better and her ear issues go away.

It’s been feeling like fall here too, Kim, but they’re not brewing pumpkin coffee here yet! 🙁 Wah! I told my kiddos that since September starts this week, I can start making pumpkin everything. And I promised to mail a batch of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins to my daughter in Portland. 😉 So sorry to hear about Sophia’s tubes but hopefully she’ll stay well now! Have a great week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Lauren, Most folks who use it know, but I often had folks ask if I had read the previous book etc, and figured a breakdown would benefit some.

Oh dang, I’m sorry to hear about Princess Sophia. I hope that fixes her ear infections. I had to do that with 2 of my 4 kids. It’s not fun but it worked.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Aside from being sleepy most of the day and a little clingy she recovered quite well. I agree the year is zooming by at warp speed.
