Everything about Jessie is wrong. At least, that’s what it feels like during her first week of junior year at her new ultra-intimidating prep school in Los Angeles. Just when she’s thinking about hightailing it back to Chicago, she gets an email from a person calling themselves Somebody/Nobody (SN for short), offering to help her navigate the wilds of Wood Valley High School. Is it an elaborate hoax? Or can she rely on SN for some much-needed help?

It’s been barely two years since her mother’s death, and because her father eloped with a woman he met online, Jessie has been forced to move across the country to live with her stepmonster and her pretentious teenage son.

In a leap of faith—or an act of complete desperation—Jessie begins to rely on SN, and SN quickly becomes her lifeline and closest ally. Jessie can’t help wanting to meet SN in person. But are some mysteries better left unsolved?

Julie Buxbaum mixes comedy and tragedy, love and loss, pain and elation, in her debut YA novel filled with characters who will come to feel like friends.

I really haven’t read any books lately that have made me cry!

  2. Bec

Basically all of Jodi Picoult’s books make me cry! Thanks so much for the week of giveaways and the fantastic blog! I hope you’re enjoying your vacation!

  3. Genesis

I got tears with After I Do by Taylor Jenkins Reid as well as Bring Me Back by Micalea Smeltzer. I’m not one to really cry with books. It takes a lot for me to cry.
I’m so excited for Tell Me Three Things! I’ve been wanting this book! Thank you for the chance <3

It would have to be the true story based on one of the Columbine girls who was shot because she answered “Yes” to if she believed in God. The name of the book is She Said Yes.

The last book that made me cry was “Me Before You” by Jojo Moyes.

I rarely cry when I read so this is hard one.I teared up reading Betrayed by Amber Lynn Natusch, the last in her Caged series that I had been reading for years. I also teared up reading her Undertow, a standalone romance. Those are the two that come to mind and I know there is one more that I can’t remember. But no ugly crying!

I also started on blogger before moving to wordpress. It’s amazing when you look back and see how far you’ve come since you started blogging. My blog turns 4 in December if I am correct. I remember how the Sunday Post was one of the first memes I joined and I am so glad I met you and how thanks to the Sunday post I met so many other amazing bloggers.

Okay now for the actual question, very few books actually make me cry. I think there are two books that I can remember ever making me cry and that’s the third vampire academy book, the ending just made me feel so sad. And a book based on a true story and when you find out what happened to the kid it’s just so sad and horrible and it make me cry. Besides that I can’t remember a book making me cry, some do make me feel emotional or close to crying, but I rarely actually cry.

This book sounds like my style. Plus lately I’ve been reading books where the characters are described as pretty lonely and mystery type books are my favourtie no matter what.

The last book that made me really cry would definitely have to be Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. I was super late on the bandwagon on reading this but omg it made me sob haha.

Aw, congrats on your Vacation/Blogoversary! I am so excited for Tell Me Three Things. It’s been a book I’ve wanted to read since the beginning of the year.

The last book that made me cry was Nowhere Near You by Leah Thomas. It’s the sequel to Because You’ll Never Meet Me and comes out February 7th from Bloomsbury.

I’ve only recently read Cassandra Clare’s The Infernal Devices and bawled my eyes out during the last book.
