Today we are attending a gender reveal party for our second grandbaby (due in November). It will be a short outing since I am still sick. I know, I know it’s crazy!

I finished the first round of antibiotics on Tuesday and on Wednesday the fever returned- so back to the doctors I went. On the upside this second dose of antibiotics seems to be breaking up the infection. My cough has actually loosened and the wheezing is better.  I have no voice, tire easily and although I am clammy and miserable I no longer think I am dying.

I have obviously been taking it easy. I have been spending a lot of downtime with a cup of hot tea and my kindle! Now to deal with all the reviews I need to I am going to cross my fingers that next Sunday I can tell you I am 100%.

So many books, so little time. For the first time since I began audiobooks I have more audiobook reviews coming up then arcs. I am working on September reviews for physical books and still have two audios to listen to before August is complete. I also won the entire Seven Series below which means over 70 hours of listening! LOL

Hope your summer is chilling and that you’re staying caffeinated!

The gender reveal party should be fun, Kim! I can’t wait to find out if Sophia is getting a brother or sister. How is she taking the news? 🙂
But oh gosh. I’m sorry to hear you are still sick. What a nasty illness! Hopefully, next week you’ll tell us about how much better you are.
I hope you enjoy all your books this week, Kim!
Happy reading and have a wonderful week ahead.

Hope you feel better, it sucks that it’s lingering so long! Hopefully this week you’ll start to feel like yourself. I’m excited about The Masked City having just read Invisible Library… and The Woman in Cabin 10 too, hope you liked that one. Congrats on your second grandchild, BTW!! 🙂

I’m behind on visiting so I haven’t seen what you thought of In a Dark Dark Wood but I’m off to check that out now. Have a great week!

I hope you’ll be able to tell us you’re 100% next Sunday, too, Kim! And how exciting for the baby gender reveal 🙂 I can’t wait to hear all about it!
You are going to love the Seven series – it’s so, so good, and one I’ve also listened to, actually.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading (and review-writing;) )

Holy Cow 70hrs! I’m just now getting in to audio books. I’ve been blogging for about 3yrs now and I’ve listened to 2 complete audio books. Sad I know but I finished Shifting Shadows and LOVED it so I’m getting in the groove lol. Nice Dragons Finish Last by Rachel Aaron is up next 😀

I was on vacation last week so I missed that you were sick, but I’ve been there and feel for you, especially when it stretches and you don’t see an end to it! I hope you are indeed much better soon!!

And happy reading with all your books and listening to all the audiobooks. That’s very fun that you got that whole series!

Are you enjoying your new Kindle? I upgraded to a Paperweight this past week during Prime Day and it is a hundred times better than my old Kindle, which I loved but it was slow and freezing (it’s several years old). I’m loving this new one!

So sorry to hear you are still poorly:(. Given you need a second round of antibiotics, may I also suggest that you start taking some hefty doses of vitamin C as well? The antibiotics will be hammering your system and the vitamin C will help you get back on your feet. In the meantime, I’m glad to hear that at least you were able to escape into bookworld. Fervently hoping that next week sees you feeling a whole lot better. Take care.

Oh, yay! Gender reveal! *chants* Boy, boy, boy, boy… Also glad that the meds seem to be working. I feel awful for slacking in the {{{posivibe}}} dept. I was totally distracted by the shit going on around here and forgot to boost them. Doing so now *ohmmmm ohmmmm ohmmmm* I hope you have a wonderful week, Kim!

I truly understand your frustrations with having sickness relapses. I’ve mentioned it before but I went through the same thing from February – June of last year. It started with getting the flu and then after multiple rounds of antibiotics due to several URI relapses I finally mentioned it to my chiropractor, who is hollistic and specializes in treatment combined with natural supplements. He explained that my immune system was too weakened to fight off the infection and that’s why I kept getting sick. So after a few months of various supplements to help strengthen my immune system I haven’t been sick since then – so a year now. Whenever I feel a scratchy throat coming on I tell him and he puts me on a natural supplement to help combat it. .The antibiotics never seemed to work for me plus there’s sometimes negative side effects when on them for so long.. I hope you find something that works like that for you! It’s miserable to continue to be sick.

Oh my. No fun being sick especially when it won’t even clear up. I hope you do get better. Good luck on those reviews. I’ve got a lot to write too. I was on vacation for two weeks and did a lot of reading, now that I’m back I’m working on those reviews.

Very nice book haul. I hope you enjoy them.

    Have a great week!

It’s good to hear you are feeling better. The gender reveal parties look like a lot of fun and it will be great that Sophia will have a playmate. I requested some audiobooks from Tantor so my pile is growing too. I have to finish up a lot my reviews lol. I hope you have a great week and get a lot of rest =)

I’m so sorry to hear this cold is hanging on. Being sick is no fun, hopefully this week will be the time you need to get over it and next Sunday all better. I don’t have a lot of recommendations but rest rest rest. I know I never rest enough when I’m sick and it lingers.
Gender reveals are so much fun. Congratulations on your new Grandbaby!!!!!
I hope you start feeling better really soon. Enjoy all your audios.
    Have an amazing week.

So with a gender reveal party, who gets the cake? Like, who knows the gender to buy it??? I wonder how that stuff works. I hope you have fun and enjoy yourself!!!!!! You need to smile a bit this week, that’s for sure!!! I’m so happy your sickness has decided to pack up it’s things. 😀

I’m a big ‘ol grouch since I’ve been arguing with Photoshop all weekend and my meds are wonking on my stomach and mood (could I be any more bloated?) so NO post for me this week – it’s just not safe to comment in public (tee, hee!!!)

BTW – I’m an OLD fan of Dannika Dark from when she first started writing (like 4 years or so ago). I own the first book in the series you won and I still need to get to it. It’s cool you won it! I hope you find time to get to it 🙂

  23. Melissa (My words and pages)

Oh my! I really hope you feel better soon. It seems the strands are getting stronger and stronger with each cold. Look forward to hearing what next grandbaby will be. 🙂

    Take care!

It’s quite impossible for you to have caught this awfulness from me since I live in Texas and you live far away, but I struggled with a terrible cough for three months last spring.

Oh, Kimba, I hope you get over this thing soon! I’m sure it’s frustrating having it drag on so long. Congratulations on the upcoming “blessed event” — how exciting! I see we will both be reading The Masked City — I’m looking forward to it. Have a good week and feel better!

I’m glad your new medicine seems to finally be making you feel better! That’s never fun. I hope you could enjoy some of the gender reveal party though. A friend of mine is having one soon and I hope I can make it! It would be fun is she were having a girl as she already has a little boy. 🙂

Yay for getting a lot read though! I know some times I get TONS read, which is awesome, but then you’re like “oh dear…here goes the 100 reviews!” haha

I hope your infection clears up for good soon. So sorry to hear you are still struggling with it!

I see you just got an ARC of the sequel to the Invisible Library. I just recently got The Invisible Library and hope to read it soon but I want to read Paper and Fire by Rachel Caine first. I’m not sure how similar The Invisible Library will be to Ink and Bone, which I loved.

  31. Charlie

That really stinks you are still sick! You’re going to become immune to antibiotics one day! How exciting for a new baby. These gender reveal parties and showers are getting very creative. I hope this week things finally clear up and you’re back to normal.
