Happy 4th of July weekend to those State side. For the month of June I read/listened to 22 books. I am hoping for a repeat in July 🙂 We had some cooler weather this week. Wahoo! Friday and Saturday we saw rain, rain, rain but still the neighborhood was filled with firework noises until after 2 am. GRRR!!! If you follow me on Facebook, you know folks around here have been setting them off every night for 2 weeks straight!

Princess Sophia spent the night Friday and became ill with high fever…Nonna and Grandpop had very little sleep. Then the kids were over all day Saturday, as our son-in-law serviced our car. I opted to read all week and as a result had 3 reviews to write. I finished two and decided to unplug because I am starting to feel the begins of a cold. No!!  Mr. Caffeinated hurt his back and today we going to rest and relax.  Have a great week and as always stay caffeinated!

22 books, woo! The fireworks have been going off here too but just for a few days, not a couple weeks. Sheesh. It’s like a free fireworks show around here, some of the neighbors have quite the stash. Glad you guys cooled down too. It’s been nice here this week.

    Rise looks good.

Have an awesome 4th , hope you feel better!

Oh no, Kim! I hope you’re not going to get that cold! I’m sorry to hear Sophia was so ill and that the hubby hurt his back.. I hope they are both doing better now. And ugh fireworks. I have a very hate relationship with them. My mother and sister love them so they always drag me on New Year’s Eve and I’m all grumpy when they go off. Good job with the reading, Kim! 🙂
I hope you have a good week ahead!

  3. Deborah

Sorry to hear about Sophia and hope she’s on the mend. I also hope you manage to stave off that cold and rest up til you feel better.

    Happy 4th July!

Sorry about the cold and the back injury :-/ It sounds like you guys do need a day to just rest and relax! I feel you about the fireworks thing though. Sometimes people near me just randomly set off fireworks, and I’ll just stand there thinking, “It’s the 7th of June, what are they celebrating???” Feel better and have a great week!

That’s my kind of triathlon, Kim! I’m pretty sure I’d do pretty well, too 😉
I hope your cold and Mr. Caffeinated’s back will get better, and that people will stop with the fireworks already!
Enjoy your fourth of July and stay safe (plus caffeinated;) )

I am glad you got some cooler weather, Kim. It felt much cooler here, although technically still summer. There was a nice breeze this evening. I am so sorry to hear about Princess Sophia. I hope the cold you are catching is minor and doesn’t last long. My daughter came down with Pink Eye towards the end of the week. I’ve been walking around with the lysol and doing extra laundry. It seems to be clearing up though. Thanks to Facebooks memory feature, it seems like she always falls ill around the Fourth of July weekend. I hope you have a great Fourth of July! And enjoy your week! Here’s to a wonderful July in books. 🙂

Oh, I hope poor Sophia feels better—and that you don’t get that cold! Mr. Bookwyrm is sick, too, and I’m hoping I don’t catch it. Enjoy your 4th of July celebrations, and have fun reading Darkest Journey—I’ve requested that one and I’ve got my fingers crossed!

Yay for cooler weather!! I am so not a fan of the fireworks going off now that I have kids. They really get freaked out. I hope you, the hubby and Sophia feel better!! Have a wonderful week and 4th of July!

Wow! Sounds like a busy week, but a good one! Hope Princess Sophia is feeling better. Poor baby! And I hope you don’t get sick again and that Mr. Caffeinated’s back gets better too! Sounds like it’s a mix of good and bad! Our weather must be in the same range! We’ve been hot and then suddenly we cooled off, but there’s rain, rain, rain, and then more rain! LOL! Rained most of the day yesterday and is supposed to rain all day today and into tomorrow. So not sure about fireworks here. Though I did hear some last night and saw like a spark of one. Sigh…I do enjoy seeing them, but sadly, I can only hear them from my house! LOL!

Nice new reads too! They’re new to me ones. I always kept thinking I should read Heather’s books! As they look creepy good! Hope you enjoy them both! Have a GREAT Fourth of July this weekend!

We’ve had the fireworks going off here for the past few days. Luckily they haven’t kept me up but I do live near a race track and that can get very loud and goes on for hours into the night 3 times a week in the summer. We are going to miss the big firework display again this year as I’m not comfortable with keeping the little one up that long. I think the noise might be too much, too.
I hope you can kick that cold before it gets too bad. Sounds like you and the Mr. need lots of relaxation. Happy 4th!

Taking it easy today sounds like a fantastic plan. I totally missed the FB fireworks updates – that’s usually us but for some reason, it’s been quiet this year. I’ve missed so much online this week b/c I kind of unplugged big time – I’m not a fan of FB as much anymore. I must be getting crankier in my old age or something.

Take care of you and hubs today (tell him I’m sorry ’bout his back!) and enjoy the nice weather. 🙂 Miss your smile 🙂

I hope you manage to have a lovely 4th July – what bad luck about the cold, I always think summer colds are grim. I take heft doses of vitamin C which sometimes manage to stop them in their tracks. I hope both Sophia and Mr Caffeinated are recovering – I hate it when the grandchildren are ill on my watch:(. In the meantime, great job with all the reviews and have a lovely reading week!

  13. Stormi Johnson

Do they not have rules about when you can set your fireworks off where your at? Here they are not allowed to start till the weekend of the fourth, though in the country like I am they can go till all hours of the night but in town they have to cut off at 10:30. I hate fireworks. 🙁

Hope the little one is feeling better and that you don’t get a cold and your hubs back feels better. Rest and relax and read lots of good books. 🙂

Happy 4th of July!!!!!! You had a great month in June!! I wish we had the rain it’s been in the 100’s here in Northern California. Thankfully we haven’t had any fireworks because they are banned here do to the drought.. That’s awesome you had time with your Princess Sophia, I’m sorry to hear she wasn’t feeling well. Hopefully she will feel better soon. Have a great week.

Oh no. I really do hope you all feel better soon, with all ailments. Summer colds are terrible especially at holidays. Try to relax!

    Take care!

  17. Lillian

Oh no! Hope that cold doesn’t become a full blown one. Rest up and enjoy your weekend! We’ve had fireworks every night here too and it is driving my little man crazy. Last night he said “That’s it! No more fireworks!” We were thinking of going to our town’s firework store, but not so much anymore. Hope you have a great week and feel better quickly!

  18. LeKeisha

Hope you have a happy 4th! Ugh, the fireworks have been constant around here as well. My neighbors aren’t close, but I still hear everything. I don’t mind, as long as I’m not trying to fall asleep. My boyfriend and I are just firing up the grill tomorrow, and I’m expecting visits from my siblings and their families. Hopefully, just a feel good day tomorrow.

Happy 4th! I hope your cold decides to go away and Mr. Caffeinated is feeling better.22 books is impressive! My reading has been horrible the last few weeks but I’m hoping that that will improve soon. The Heather Graham looks good. I’ve been enjoying her Krewe books lately. Have a great week!

Happy 4th of July! And I hope you can get as much books read in July as you did in June. 22 books sounds impressive to me as I don’t read that many books in a month. Glad to hear you had some cooler weather. I am sorry to hear about Sophia being ill, I hope she’s feeling better now. Have a great week!

Ooooh I hope you like the audio of Rise!! I haven’t read any of the short stories (but the trilogy itself is one of my favorite things EVER). You’ll have to let me know if the audio is any good – then I’ll know to wait until I get my hands on that instead of reading it the normal way! (And here’s hoping you don’t follow the rest of your family into sickness – here’s hoping for a fun – and cold-free – fourth of July for you!)

  22. Rita

You’ve had a lot of good reading and reviewing lately– what fun! Sorry about the Princess, your hubs’ back and your cold. Hope resting up this weekend, maybe a BBQ and watch some fireworks will help you feel a bit better.

I’m scribbling down some of your title to check out further. Enjoy!

Happy 4th of July! I hope you and your husband both feel better soon. Reading and relaxing sounds like a good plan.

22 books is impressive! I am not sure how many I read in June but usually I average 10 books a month. I will have to check out your review of Paper and Fire. I can’t wait to get my hands on that one.

  24. Maureen Beatrice

I hope that cold stays away Kimberly! 😉
Here is has also been raining a lot. A lot is even an understatement.. it’s been raining for days. I wish summer would show itself.. I’m in desperate need of some sun.
Enjoy your fourth of July celebration and happy reading!

Poor little Sophia – and your husband! It is miserable when your back hurts. I heard a few pops last night that were well-spaced and I thought they were Roman candles so I went out to look and whoever was doing it was done. :/

I have been doing that triathlon all June! Well, except Netflix binging was also in the mix, so not a lot of reading. I am always envious of people who can read upwards of twenty books in a month. I’d be in book heaven. Happy 4th of July!

  26. La La in the Library

Your Totally Random this week is perfection! I have to get back to your Paper and Fire review. I started reading it a couple of days ago and had to go do something and didn’t get back to it. I will be keeoing my eye out for your The Hatching review. People in my neighborhood are crazy with the fireworks, too, even though all of them, even sparklers, are illegal. Some of them are so big they look like professional fireworks, but the police do nothing. One of these days a house is going to catch on fire; and the way luck runs it won’t be theirs it will probably be their nextdoor neighbors. I hope the extra day off is enough rest for you and your husband to get better and I hope little Sophia is all better now. Have a fun Fourth and a wonderful week. 🙂

I hope Sophie is better and that you don’t get a cold. We haven’t heard any fireworks here in hubby’s hospital room. I’m learning to use a new tablet. glad you are enjoying your reading. Hope your week is good.

We had a bunch of people lighting off fireworks into the wee hours this weekend as well. Its just as well since we didn’t get any this year. I found that just having the window unit on drowns out the noise for us in the bedroom. I hope it gets quiet for you soon, and that you don’t get sick.
    Happy reading!

Ugh. I feel your pain with the neighbors setting off fireworks for days straight, all hours of the night. It’s nice that I live in a rural area where it’s allowed, but have some common decency, ya know? Especially last night, since most people had to go back to work today. 🙁 Ha, I love that triathlon pic. So what I wish I could have done this weekend. Hope you have a great week!

Fireworks until 2 am? How rude. I hope they’re all done and over with until next year. Speaking of following you on fb, I hardly see your posts my newsfeed anymore. I really dislike how fb changed the algorithms.
