Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

We are in the middle of a 100 + degrees bake this weekend….when you step outside you instantly melt. I have been staying indoors and listening to audiobooks. Our family visitors arrive Wednesday. They will be staying about two weeks, so nightly Sunday dinners and trips around town seeing the sights will abound. This will be their first time seeing Princess Sophia and we are excited. Please take a moment to check out the ARCs and eBook copies I have available for review or as a spotlight/giveaway on your blog this summer. Keep cool and stay caffeinated!

I have All the Missing Girls and hope to read it next week. Enjoy your upcoming week and the house guests…and I hope your weather cools down. Ours did, a little bit; but it is going up again next week.

I am excited to listen to it. I am finishing up End of Watch this weekend and then I will dive into All the Missing Girls.

  2. Michelle

The heat has gotten really stifling here too, though not yet to the 100’s…though at this rate by the time we hit the actual summer season we’ll be there. I’m hoping I can get back into my audios this week. I also got a copy of All the Missing Girls a few weeks ago, haven’t gotten a chance to start it but it looks like it’s going to be a good one!
I hope you have a good day today Kimba and happy reading!

  3. Kristen

Yikes, 100 degrees! That’s insane. I don’t blame you for staying in and listening to books lol. Have fun with your family visitors! Sounds like it’ll be fun 🙂

A few books in common at the moment Kimberly. It sounds like you’re looking forward to your visitors. I had some family time this week and it was nice. I kept feeling guilty I was not writing or reading but my mum won’t be around for ever and I’m pretty sure I won’t regret the conversations I have with her! x

Woah! That’s some seriously hot weather. I get cranky in weather that warm. That’s why I’m a winter girl. 🙂
All The Missing Girls sounds very interesting. I considered requesting it but I thought I’d wait to see what others have to say about the book first.
Happy reading, Kim and have a wonderful week ahead!

I love summer, but the heat index is making it humid. We have rain moving in this week, so hopefully it will cool off a little.

  6. Emma

That is some heat! I’m not sure I could cope. Hopefully it cools down a little for your visitors and you have a good visit with them. Like the sound of All the Missing Girls – looks right up my street.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Well thank goodness for central We do have rain moving in on Monday which hopefully takes the bite off the heat.

  7. Greg

Wow that’s too hot. I probably wouldn’t go out lol. I hope things cool down and have fun with the visit- sounds like nice family time. 🙂 Hopefully the weather cooperates.

    Love that social media coffees!!

How fun that you’ll get to show her off! And I know all about hot temps. We hit record temps around 116 last weekend and are much cooler at just over 100 this weekend. Lol! We’ve also been a little humid (around 30%) with some thunderstorms rolling in. I don’t like the humidity, but I’ll take it over the higher temps right now. Have a great week!

  9. Maureen Beatrice

Wow.. I can totally see why you’re staying inside Kimberly. That’s definitely way to hot. LOL!! How fun that your family is visiting for two weeks. I hope you have a great time and the weather gets a little les hot.
‘All The Missing Girls’ by Megan Miranda sounds like a good one.
    Have a great week! 😉

80’s are wonderful. I don’t mind hotter weather as long as it cools off at night. Isn’t that pic hilarious 🙂 it made me smile

  10. La La in the Library

We had a couple of super cold days and then, BAM, it was hot and humid yesterday. It feels chilly right now, but I don’t know what it is supposedto get up to today. Enjoy your company. I don’t envy you having to cook Sunday style dinners in hot weather! I hope you have good air-conditioning. Have a wonderful week. 🙂

Oh my goodness! Do you regularly have those kinds of temperatures? We are only set up to cope with drizzle in our part of the world… It sounds like tucking yourself indoors with a book is the only sensible response! Have a great week and hope you can send us a bit of your heat – we could do with a few more degrees to make it absolutely comfortable for me!

  13. Kim

I hear you on the temperatures. We’re not quite up as high as y’all are, but it was almost 100° yesterday in DC with the heat index. Of course, I’m in PA this weekend… but it’s not that much cooler here. I’m not ready for all this quite yet. But, I guess it’s here whether or not we are ready for it.

I hope you have a great time with your family and that they enjoy their visit! It has been hot here too but in the 90s. Today is supposed to be a little cooler (in the upper 70s) but I will enjoy it.

I will have to check out your review of Britt-Marie Was Here. I have it on my TBR pile. I have to read My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry first. I absolutely loved A Man Called Ove so I’ve got high hopes for both of these!

  15. tonyalee

It’s been really hot this weekend here, too! Luckily, we are right by the lake so easy way to cool off! 🙂 I hope you have a great week with visitors!

    Thanks for sharing my post!

  16. kindlemom1

We were having that last week and I’m so glad it is over! We even broke a record. 🙁 It sucked. So glad it is back to the high 70’s low 80;s here. Hopefully it cools down there as well.
Yay for company! I hope you have a blast!

We’ve had the high 100’s here too. It’s awful to be outside when it is so hot so staying indoors with a good book is perfect during this time of year. I’m going to read Jennifer Probst’s book this month. I love the selection we always get in our Xoxpert package.
I hope you have a great time with your visitors and the weather cools down so you can enjoy being outdoors. Have a great week!

The heat is getting pretty intense where I’m at, as well. Time to park it in the water and not get out until summer’s over. 🙂 I’ve been considering ALL THE MISSING GIRLS. I really liked what I’ve read of Megan Miranda’s YA novels. Hope you have a great week and enjoy the time with your family.!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I will be starting that this weekend, so check Goodreads for my thoughts. I should post a review in July. Yes…stay in the water!!

  19. Lark

The temperature is climbing here; today is supposed to be in the 90s for the first time since late April or early May. I think summer has finally come. (Too bad; I much prefer it in the 60s and low 70s!) I’m praying they crank the AC up so it’s cool enough for tonight’s concert, or we’ll roast in our choir robes. Here’s hoping everyone finds a way to stay cool! And I hope you enjoy your family visitors — I’m sure they’ll enjoy meeting the princess! Have a wonderful week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I hope it was cool for the concert. I am in my pajamas and ready to lie and do We cleaned and cooked all day today. Have a great week Lark!

  20. Lola

It’s been pretty warm here as well, but not melting hot warm luckily. I hope you get some cooler weather soon there. And have fun with your family visitors! I hope you’ll have a great week!

Cleveland JUST started cooking on Saturday when I left there. And then Detroit was 97 when I drove through. Today it’s 66 degrees out, I’ve got whiplash from the weather! And my nose is going to fall off from my allergies! I must have carried home something from Cleveland b/c I’m not usually this bad 🙁

Have fun with your guests these coming weeks!!! I’m excited to get back into the groove myself 🙂 !!!!! Hope you’re 100% by now!!

    • kimbacaffeinate

LOL, we haven’t anything cool…but today I would welcome it! I am doing much better, a little congestion lingering but I am feeling fine. They say this is a bad year for allergies.

  22. Jan

I hope it goes well with your visitors. Having had lots of visitors lately it’s lots of fun, but can be lots of work, too! We’re melting here in Iowa as well, but I’m hoping for a little cooler weather next week. It’s great you got to listen to audiobooks this week. I haven’t listened lately and need to get back to that routine.

    Have a great week, Kimba!

I hope your visitors enjoy their stay – and you them! I don’t know if it’s hit 100 or not during the day, but last night when we went for a walk it was 90 at 8:00! After our hour walk, it was still 89. It is definitely summer!

  24. Karen Blue

I hope you guys have fun with family this week. I bet you are so proud to show your little Princess off!
Both of your new books look good, I haven’t read a Stephen King book in a shamefully long amount of time. I need to get back to it. I hope you enjoy both of your new listens. I am looking forward to your review for I’m Thinking Of Ending Things. That cover got my attention. Have a great week!

I lov King. My review for I’m Thinking of Ending Things will be on Tuesday. I am really glad our family is getting to meet Sophia. My Dad saw pictures, and videos but never met her and it pains me.

We drove to MN yesterday and I just watched the temperature tick down on my car’s dash the further north we drove. It was hard to believe it was 95+ degrees on Saturday and by the time we arrived at my sister’s on Sunday it was just under 60 degrees. The cold front we hit on the drive was a welcome relief.

Here’s to sunny skies and mild weather for your visitors! Summer’s here. ::)
