Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

For the month of May I read/listened to 20 books.  Of those 19 counted towards the Clean Sweep Challenge. Not as high as I hoped but between BEA and an illness that kept me down for over fourteen days I am pleased. I still have a lingering cough and some congestion but after ten days on antibiotics the worst is gone. The trick will be not to overdo it and relapse. Something I tend to be a master at 🙂 We spent the weekend cleaning and gardening. We have family coming to visit mid-June and are preparing for them. I cannot remember if I shared but Sophia is going to be a big sister in November and we are all excited. I shall be visiting and commenting over today and tomorrow. It will be fun catching up with everyone! Hope your week is simply amazing. As always stay caffeinated!

I am glad you are feeling better, and hope that lingering cough is gone soon. Definitely do take it easy. We want you well again! I have a tendency not to take it easy either, so I understand how easy it is to relapse . . .

I didn’t sign up for COYER this season, but I am still considering it.

I hope you have a great week, Kimberly!

    • kimbacaffeinate

The summer session for Coyer is the most laxed and it usually pushes me a little to keep on reading 🙂 I tire easy right now, so I am trying to behave myself 🙂

  2. Kristen

Sorry you’re still not feeling well :-/ Do feel better soon!

It looks like you got some interesting books this week. I still have to try that Darynda Jones series that I’ve been meaning to try forever lol, and I’ll be curious to see what you think of the Tumbling Turner Sisters book as I kind of considered it myself.

Thanks Kristen, I am doing much better and thankfully fever free. I got Tumbling Turner in my Xoxpert package and hadn’t heard of it, but the synopsis has me curious.

  3. Nick

Those coughs and congestion linger don’t they? Very frustrating! I’m glad you’re feeling better this week, Kim. And 20 books is amazing especially given everything you had going on.
How exciting for Sophia being a big sister and you a grandma again! 🙂
I got myself Everywhere and Every Way as well and I’m looking forward to reading it. It sounds like a lot of fun!
Will this be your first Lauren Layne book? I can’t wait to hear your thoughts. This is just a novella, and a bit more dramatic than her usual books, but I hope you like it.
Have a wonderful week, Kim and happy reading!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I listened to the audio of Everywhere and Every Way Nick was soooo good! Yes my first Layne book and I actually selected that to read this month from Xoxperts.

  4. Deborah

Keen to hear how Britt-Marie was on audio. I enjoyed the book. Nice and quirky. And well-written.

I’m glad you’re finally on the mend, but make sure you do take it easy!

I’m glad you’re feeling better – now, you need to listen to your own advice and not overdo it so that you will stay healthy.
I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend and that next week will be a blast!
    Happy reading.

I’m glad you’re feeling better and it’s awesome that Sophia will be a big sister! My brother and his girlfriend are expecting their first in August, I’m not really a kid person but it’s been pretty exciting to help get the baby’s first library started. I’m already fully planning on turning her into a tiny geek.
I hope the cough goes a way soon, and I hope you enjoy your new reads!

  8. sjhigbee

So sorry to hear you’re still under the weather – if you’ve been on antibiotics, it might be a good idea to get in some extra vitamin C, I always find it helps to pick me up after I’ve been zapped. Congratulations on the news of the new arrival:). As ever, a really exciting haul of books and hope this week you are better able to enjoy them all:)

  9. A Voracious Reader

So glad you’re feeling better! And Holy Baby Booties, Nonna! That’s great news about another little one on the way! Since both our 1st grandbabies are girls and my 2nd is a boy I’m going to predict a boy. 😀 Now, don’t overdo things. Slow and steady is better than being down and out, Have a wonderful week, Kim!

I’m so glad you’re feeling better 🙂 And awesome books in the house this week! I’m doing the same thing you’re doing and cleaning my house a bit this weekend, too. I’ve been down with a headache BUT I’m actually purging stuff for a garage sale – Oh what fun to unload stuff – seriously!

Give Princess a hug for me and keep getting better!!

You read more than me last month being sick! I only managed 16, 12 for Clean Sweep. Hope you have a great week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

My daughter is due the 29th of November. I hope she is doing well and yes it is exciting. 12 for Clean Sweep is amazing -congrats Lillian!

  17. Emma

Glad to hear you are feeling better and hope it continues. 20 books when you haven’t been feeling well is pretty impressive. Congratulations on about to becoming a grandma again…great news.

Awe, thank you Mareli. I know what it is like when you have a passion but life and responsibility force it to the side. 🙁 Hope you get to blog soon 🙂

Keeping up with the meme’s is like Keeping up with the Kardashians – you just go through the motions and follow the pattern. It is getting to post what I truly want to say that is falling behind. I’ll hopefully get to that during the holidays. And of course the toilet of my blog. Like THE LITTLE PRINCE said: “When you’ve finished your own toilet in the morning, then it is time to attend to the toilet of your planet (or your blog!!). Just so, with the greatest care.”

Thank you, audiobooks really saved me, plus when you are too sick to read they are perfect! I am so excited for the new little one 🙂

  21. Katherine

How exciting for your family! I’m sure Sophia will be a fantastic big sister. 20 books is pretty good even though it wasn’t what you were aiming for. Sometimes months just seem to kick our butts and I think May was one of those for just about everyone! Glad to hear you’re feeling better and hopefully you’ll take the time you need to rest. It’s so hard to do so when you’re starting to feel better and there’s so much to do but it does seem to be necessary. Have a great week!

I’m so glad you’re feeling a bit better! Please take care of yourself and don’t relapse. And congratulations on (impending) grandchild number two — what lovely news!

Thank you for the shout-out! 🙂 I’m off to read your review of The Stars of Fortune. I’m looking forward to book 2 in the series. Your new books look good, too; I’d really like to read the new Jennifer Ryan.

    Have a great week!

Congratulations, Nona! I hope you get feeling 100% soon. Make sure you rest. I failed miserably with the Clean Sweep Challenge with only three books because of getting stuck in that The Loose End List book, but it made me gert a better idea about how many ARCs I have to get through before I can have my ARC free vacation in July and August. I love the cover for The Traveling Turner Sisters. Have a wonderful week. 🙂

I can’t wait to read Britt-Marie Was Here, it looks so good. Like exactly what I need in my reading life right now. I am looking forward to your review!

I’m glad you are feeling better! I had that cough for about 2 months after the rest of it went away, hope your’s doesn’t last that long! And Congrats! Always happy news welcoming a new member of the family!

As always, you’ve shared some great books! Thank you and have a great week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Psst..I loved it, all the reveals ..I devoured it. Yay..I hope it was a good cup of Joe. Too funny you thought of me. I do love my coffee, in fact it’s one of the reasons I love mornings..LOL

  26. Charlie

I’m glad to hear you are doing better! If you’ve exhausted all of your antibiotics and are still not back to 100%, can you get an additional one until everything is cleared up? Relapsing does not sound fun at all! I bet Sophia is all excited to be a big sister!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Yes, if necessary they will give me another round, but with my auto immune I have to take pretty nasty stuff and hope to avoid that.

  27. Sophia Rose

That infection has really hung around a long time. Glad you’re being cautious with it. Twenty is great toward the challenge considering all you had going on.

Yay for you all to have a new little one coming along.

Lots of lovelies in your haul. I got 10th Grave, too.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Sophia. Sadly with my RA shaking an illness is always an issue, but I am feeling more like me. November cannot get here soon enough I am anxious to love this little one!

  28. Tyler H. Jolley

Glad to hear the worst is over. This is going to be a great week for sure. End of Watch is releasing tomorrow. I can’t wait to see how King ends the series. Although, I must say, I’m very bummed this is the last Bill Hodges book.

  29. Bookworm Brandee

*ahem* I hate to go ‘mom’ on you, but I don’t think cleaning and gardening equals not overdoing it. 😉 lol Congrats to you (and Sophia)! And I can’t believe you read 20 books in May! I had BEA and graduation and an 18th birthday…I only managed 10. TEN! Seven of those counted towards Clean Sweep though and that’s 2 more than I aimed for. So yay! I still need to do a challenge update post…I’m having trouble keeping up! 😀 Have a great week, Kim!
