Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Rainy days and warmer weather were the norm this week. I have been enjoying Cronin’s City of Mirrors and desperately tried to savour it.  A busy week allowed me to pace myself, but this weekend at about 65% I couldn’t stop and devoured it. Book Hangover!!!!  I am busy preparing for BEA. I am hosting a round table and making notes for that, assembling guest post, planning my schedule, and thinking about what to pack. All are healthy again and I spent Saturday cleaning and listening to Kissed by A Dark Prince. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I encourage all of you to visit one or two new to you blogs who are participating in the Sunday Post. Get out there, say hello and as always Stay Caffeinated!

Thanks for the mention! Those blueberry cobbler cheesecake bars sound amazing and I love Cookies & Cups! I just got the cookbook and all the recipes look so tempting it’s hard to decide what to try first. I hope your book hangover doesn’t last too long and it is fun to really just fall into a story. Have a great week!

Ah yes, the Smonday feeling. Ruins half your Sunday lol. Sounds like you’re gearing up for BEA that’s coming up quick! It rained here too a bit but the warmer weather is here- finally! Have a relaxing weekend Kimba!

I was only listening to a podcast about the Sinday Blues yesterday to Smonday really is a thing! Not for me thankfully, I’m too busy enjoying my fee say to worry ahead!
And we linked to some of the same posts this week We’ve a good eye!
Is this your first BEA? I don’t think I’ve seen you go before. And the round table sounds fun, it all sounds fun! Maybe some day, I’ll make it!

  4. Michelle

Yay for BEA! I’ve wanted to go for a few years, but could never justify the money it would take to do it but I’m glad someone I know gets to go! Ah, Smonday…I know what that feels like. It always gets me about 9pm every Sunday night.
I hope your week is awesome and that all of your books are amazing.

Thankfully with leading a table for BloggerCon my tickets were free and I will write off my travel expenses. I think we all need to experience it at least once.

  5. Tressa

“Smonday” is too true! Lol! Glad everyone is well at your house. We mostly are there. One of these years I’ve got to make it to BEA. Hopefully sooner than later. 🙂 Hope you’re prep goes well! And have a fantastic week!!

  6. Kristen

Yay, I’m glad your family is all healthy again! And have fun at BEA and prepping and all that!

Smonday, that’s perfect, haha. I don’t have a M-F type schedule anymore, but, when I did, I could never enjoy Sunday because of that whole Monday anxiety thing lol.

I’m listening to The Twelve now, and I’ve got to say I’m taken aback by certain developments. Just when you thought you had it all figured out, Mr. Cronin goes and does it again, lol 😀 I can’t wait for City of Mirrors!!! And speaking of interesting books, Kate Kessler’s It Takes One looks pretty good as well… You must tell me how you like it. Wishing you a great next week, Kimba <3

    • kimbacaffeinate

I am excited about Kessler’s book, although when I accepted the audio for review the publisher said it was 14 hours..and its 25 hours!!!

  8. Charlie

I hope you enjoy BEA! I had some inklings of attending this year’s, but once the state released our testing days it was all over!

  9. Deborah

Will there be a book blogger’s (Sunday Post) gathering at BEA? Or a meal out or something. I’d love to see everyone catch up (so I can join vicariously from afar!).

I’ve had The Passage and Twelve on my shelf for so long and still haven’t read them! I think I’ll make a point to read all 3 soon instead of starting more new series that I’ll have to wait for the sequels for.

Glad everyone is feeling better…and hoping that I don’t get the SMonday feeling anytime soon! Have a good week.

  12. Melanie Simmons

Glad everyone is healthy again. I completely get book hangovers. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Kissed by A Dark Prince. I’ve really enjoyed that series, but haven’t tried the audios. So many series that I love are coming out on audio now. I want to revisit them all. 🙂 Have fun at BEA. I so wish I could join you.

  13. Lark

It’s so exciting that you’re going to BEA! I can’t wait to hear about your experiences there. I’d love to go some year, but the dates this year are bad for me; I’ve got a concert that week, and as the director, I really kind of have to be there. 😉

I’m going to check out your review of ‘Til Death Do Us Part, but I have to wait on the Lenora Bell book until I finish reading it. Have a lovely week, and I hope you find a book wonderful enough to get you over that book hangover!

Oh nice! I’m hoping Netgalley releases The Sight soon! Or since I do get review books somewhat regularly from NAL that they’ll send me one soon! LOL! The waiting for the waiting is so hard! Haha! Happy Reading!!

oh City of Mirrors sounds so good that I had to add the series to my tbr. I hope you have fun at BEA

  16. Holly

Those are the best kinds of books – the ones you can’t put down and the ones you can’t stop thinking about when you’re finished. I haven’t had one of those in a pretty long while. Enjoy your week and your new books!

I am glad to hear that all are well at your house. Have a fabulous time at BEA. It is only a couple of weeks away now, right? We have had the same weather here. My cleaning jag changed to a soup making and baking marathon because of the rainy, and a bit chilly, weather. Have a wondefvful week. 🙂

We also got some nice weather here this week and all the trees are turning green. I am glad to hear you’re all healthy again. I didn’t realize BEA was so close already, that must be exciting planning and preparing for that! Blueberry Cobbler Cheesecake Bars sounds delicious. I’ll have to remember to stop by your blog later this week to read that post. I hope you’ll have a great week!

I’m so glad everyone’s back to being healthy, Kimba! That’s a relief!
City of Mirrors sounds amazing – though I have all the sympathy for that book hangover 🙂
All your BEA preparations sound intense too! I hope it goes fabulously well!
I’m glad you mentioned visiting ‘new to you blogs.’ Doing that right now!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Oh I wasn’t sick but we had that funky stomach bug in our house. Yay, so glad you are visiting new blogs..we have so many new peeps!

  20. tonyalee

I’m glad to hear everyone is healthy again and ‘back to normal!’ So sad I wont get to see you at BEA this year!

I am excited about THE SIGHT, so I hope you like it, too! Have a great week 🙂

  21. sjhigbee

Have a fabulous time at BEA and though I work MOSTLY from home, I do teach the first 3 days a week, so I have an inkling of SMONDAY feelings – nothing like as bad as it used to be, though! And I’m kicking myself for not leaping at City of Mirrors when I spotted it on NetGalley as an arc…

    • kimbacaffeinate

I work from home as well, but my hubby doesn’t so I always feel the onset on Smonday 🙂 City of Mirrors was so good..I hope you read it soon.

  22. Jan

I’m glad you’re all healthy again and it’s great you are going to BEA. So exciting. And I’m looking forward to some posts about it after it’s over.

    Have a great week, Kimba.

Sunday always feels like SMonday to me. *sigh* I think I waste the day worrying about the week starting and how I’m dreading it all.

So glad to hear everyone is doing better. It’s always terrible for everyone to be sick. Hope you have a great time at BEA. I can’t ever seem to find the funds to go, but would love to be there one day. 🙂 Have a great week!

  24. Mandy

Sounds like an amazing week. We’ve had the rain and sunshine off and on all week here too. Book hangovers are the best! I’ve been on a book funk this month but this weekend I may have just pulled myself out at last. I’m so glad that everyoe is feeling better it’s no fun when everyone is sick.
That’s so exciting you get to go to BEA! It’s on my dream list but the husband hasn’t been able to get leave yet. One of these years. I hope you have an amazing week!!!!! Happy reading!!!

Our weather is the same here. I just wished it would stay warm already. I had a book hangover this week too. I was listening to the 3rd Charley Davidson book and for the final chapters I dropped everything. I can’t believe how it ended!! I would love to go to BEA one of these days and I would definitely sit in on your panel. Have a great week!!!

I never knew it but it all makes sense now… I suffer from Smondays! Yes, as the day gets later, my thougths turn to going back to work and not enjoying what’s left of my lazy day!

I’m getting excited for you and BEA! When I went for the first time it was so wonderful and overwhelming! A readers dream and a bloggers gift! And I think that it’s so much more organized now too! I can’t wait to hear all about it!

  27. Sophia Rose

Yay for a plague-free home! Look forward to getting your report on a fun BEA. Rooting for your Round Table to go well.
Spent yesterday doing yard work in the sun and it felt fantastic even if the audio book I was listening to was only so-so. Actually was warm enough for short sleeves. 🙂
    Have a good week!

There aren’t any Bookcons etc in Europe? That is horrible. Hmm, maybe that is why a lot of peeps from Spain and England are traveling here.

  28. Steph

I have family coming into town this week so I have been planning and cleaning for that :/
I hope you have a wonderful time at BEA, I am so jealous of everyone able to go 😛

I would love to go to one of the big book conventions someday, but it’s not going to happen due to the arthritis in my knees and feet. Makes me mad that it’s not something I can do. So many authors and bloggers I would love to meet. So yep I am jealous 🙂 Glad you family is all better and that you didn’t get that nasty bug! Hope you have a good week 🙂

Rain, huh? I guess you’d rather that than the snow that continues to fall here. 😉 These past few days have been such teases – starting out sunny and gorgeous but by lunchtime, snow showers. Summer will get here eventually. Maybe while I’m in Chicago! Gah! I don’t know about you but I’m excited! 😀 See you soon, my friend!!
