Sunday Post #202 Epic Reads and Butterbeer Coffee

I spent the week listening to Marked in Flesh by Anne Bishop and then reading Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs. Talk about a book high. Last weekend my daughter and I tried Starbucks’ Hot Butterbeer Latte and it was Hogwarts’ heaven. This week was a mixed bag of nuts. My RA caused some issues on Wednesday and I developed a cold. I’ve been resting a lot this weekend and taking long naps. I have an opening in the Breaking the Story Tour  (a suspense/mystery novel) and need to fill March 22nd. If you would be willing to spotlight or review please let me know. There is a tour wide giveaway.  Take Control of Your TBR Pile begins Tuesday and my list is HUGE!! I hope you will join us! Have a delightfully bookish week and stay caffeinated!

Oh no! Not a cold! Definitely rest up all weekend, Kim!
And good to know about the Butterbeer coffee at Starbucks tasting good! 🙂
CANNOT WAIT TO READ MARKED IN FLESH!! I got a copy from NetGalley but it’s for Kindle only sadly. But you can bet that I’ll be purchasing my own copy when it releases. So excited for more Simon & Meg & The Others. 🙂
Have a lovely weekend, Kim and happy reading!

Ugh..it is the watery eyes, runny nose cough so you cannot sleep kind of crap Nick. I know it was triggered by the RA but at least I am able to read/listen to audios. I have to listen to audio first, then read it..I am so weird.

  2. Greg

Sounds like an urban fantasy kinda week! 🙂 And that latte doesn’t sound half bad. Hope you feel better- seems like everybody’s sick right now, crap going around.

Love that cover of The Wilds…

There’s a hot butterbeer latte??? How did I miss this??? I’m so sorry to hear your RA is acting up. I’m glad to hear your resting though. Your books this week look great! I’m especially curious about the Anne Bishop. She’s an author I’m really wanting to read. Have a great week!

Ha! Good old (well, young) Sophia, keeping your ‘steps’ up!

You’ve got a few books in your (read and upcoming) piles of interest. As you know I’ve got Hidden Bodies awaiting me (sometime soon) and am looking forward to that!

Ooo Butterbeer, I love that they are doing that, how fun! I really hope you feel better soon Kim, darn colds and coughs and not feeling well. Breathing is pretty essential, glad you are taking it easy and getting lots of rest.

Hot Butterbeer Latte? Oh my gosh, I need to track down where I can get me some of that. I have a feeling it’ll be a struggle to find that here in Korea. 😛

So sorry you haven’t been feeling well. That sucks. 🙁 I feel like everyone I know is coming down with a cold/flu these days. It must be this time of year.

  7. Maureen Beatrice

Ow man.. Colds are the worst. I had one a view weeks back and still have a running nose. Not as much as first, but still.. I hope you feel better soon.
Sounds like you had a great reading week. I wish I could listen to audiobooks as much.
Have a great week Kimberly and happy reading. 😉

I once tried making the Hogwarth beer at my younger’s daughter’s birthday (with non-alcoholic beer, of course), it was fun to make but not very tasty, lol ! Take care, stay warm *hugs*

  9. Whitney

Starbucks has a Butterbeer Latte? The Harry Potter fan in me needs to try that, and soon. Having the cold is horrible, it really ways you down. I hope you feel better soon Kimba!

I have to confess Kim… I have never read Anne Bishop or Patricia Briggs! I know, I know… what kind of book blogger am I huh?? 🙂 Last week I started Written in Red and Moon Called is coming soon from the library. Those two plus I don’t know how many more made me sign up for Take Control of Your TBR Pile! looking forward to it. Thanks for hosting it

Sounds like a great week except for the cold. Hope you feel better. I’m so excited for Patricia Briggs next Mercy Thompson book. I’ve been avoiding reviews well maybe skimming them a little, but really she’s an author I love to have the books surprise me!! I’m not adventures to try a different flavor coffee. I like to stick to plan latte or coffee with a little cream in it, but I will taste from my friends if they offer ^_^. Well have a fabulous week and Happy Reading!

Hot Butterbeer Latte sounds great! And I had to laugh about chase and giggles–sounds fun.

I loved the Briggs and Bishop books. I hope you enjoy your new books. You got some good ones. And so sorry about your cold and RA issues. Hope you feel better very soon.

Colds are the worst!!! I had one last weekend and though I finally feel better I’ve lost my voice now. Hope you feel better soon! Looking forward to your review of Marked in Flesh. I still need to read the third one in that series but loving it so far!

Sounds like a great week! And I’m going to have to try that latte. 😀 I’ve not had butterbeer yet, but hope to get to try it one day. 🙂 Thank you! Have a great week!

  16. Michelle

Wait a minute…Do you have to ask to make it specific or do they have a coffee called Butterbeer Latte? Now I want one.

I have to make my list for Take Control. I plan to do that today. I have so many ARCs I need to catch up with and it will be nice to spend the month focusing on only those.

I hope you have a wonderful week, Kim! Feel Better! ox

  17. Mandy

Sounds like even though you have a cold you had a great week. I hope your cold doesn’t last to long and speedy recovery. I’ve tried the Butterbeer before it’s very yummy! I loved Fire Touched can’t wait to see what you think. Thanks so much for hosting this weekly. Have a great week!!!!

I hope you feel better and that your cold goes away soon. I think everyone has been sick this month. 🙁 Oh, and I also run on only caffeine and inappropriate thoughts! Haha! 😛

Oh Kim, I do feel for you and hope you ride out this flare-up in record time. I don’t have RA but have similar probs and sometimes I just have to lie down, take my meds and nap to get through it.

have the Mercy Thompson that comes before Fire Burned. Been awhile since I visited her series– one of my few UF choices.

I’m hemming and hawing about your March challenges. Wish you had something in-between 🙁 I don’t do one day readathons anymore because I don’t read more than a few hours a day, but I also have a couple of titles releasing this month that I definitely want to pick up asap as March has a bunch of good new releases coming out! Decisions, decisions… will get back to you… but if I don’t– have a boatload of fun with it!

  21. La La in the Library

I am sorry about your RA acting up. I hope it gets better quickly. Are your flares weather related sometimes? I am joining your challenge! My post will be up tomorrow. I am toddling off to read your Morningstar review right now. Have a wonderful week. 🙂

The one fictional food I said I wanted on my Twenty Questions post was Butterbeer and Now You’ve shown me the way! Thank you! And need to do the TBR challenge coming up in March because I definitely have a lot of TBR’s on my shelf, but it doesn’t stop me from grabbing that “I gotta read” book that just came out!

  23. Lola

That’s great your week started off with two great books. And that Butterbeer latte sounds good! I might be interested in reading Breaking the Story, as it sounds good and I am trying to read more romantic suspense, but I am trying to see if I have time to read it as I have my next reads lined up already and not sure how much time I have left and don’t want to rush myself. I hope you’ll have a great week.

Well – I was going to sign up for the March TBR event. BUT somehow I ended up with review books that will take up most of the month. However, I just checked the link and since it is for books before 3/1 I should still do okay, so I will sign up. 🙂
Oh – a new Mercy Thompson is available? If I wait a week or so maybe I can get it with an Audible credit.
I hope you get rest and feel better. Yes, I have noticed a bit more activity with my 3-year old granddaughter.
    Have a lovely week!

  25. Tressa

I love Starbucks’ Double Chocolate Chip. They’ve got some yummy ones. Sorry about you catching a cold! I’m hoping I’ve paid my dues being sick for some time. I’ve got a crazy busy week this week and last week was really crazy, but they’re also been fun and awesome, so I can’t complain. I love books too much to do so. 😉 Hope this week goes well for you and you get some good reading in!

  26. Wattle

The Butterbeer Latte has me curious! We don’t have Starbucks here, but I’ve had my fair share of sweet flavoured drinks when I travel! It may be one of the first things I look for at an airport haha

I hope that you’re feeling better! Have a wonderful week 🙂

  27. Lorna

Sorry you have a cold, seems like you just got over a cough-that sucks! Long naps should be required for colds, well that and vitamin C. Hope you feel better from that and your RA issues very quickly!
