March Take Control of Your TBR Pile Challenge Sign-ups

January 9th, 2016 Kimberly Event 35 Comments

9th Jan

Take Control was a blast last year and many of you made space on your shelves for new books. Let’s do it again!

Take Control of Your TBR pile is entering its fourth year and is one of my favorite events. The rules are simple. For the entire month of March you focus on reading/listening to books in your TBR pile released before March 1, 2016. They can be eBooks, physical books or audiobooks. Let’s clean off those shelves, finish those series and trilogies and have some fun.

Once again I will provide motivation with a grand prize of a new release of your choice. I am giving you time to clear your calendars and sort through your TBR piles by posting early, so no excuses..we can do this!

Are you ready to accept the Challenge?

This is definitely a great challenge, Kim! I’m really not sure if I’ll be able to participate, though, because in March both my classes at uni, and my teaching will be in full swing. I’m trying to get as many books as possible read now before Uni starts again.
I will ponder on this, though, because I have tons of books on my TBR shelves that are begging for me to read them πŸ˜‰

I’m almost tempted to sign up for this but fortunately my TBR pile isn’t too scary at the moment… There seemed to be a bit of a slump in December / January – or perhaps the sorts of books released were those that didn’t interest me, so I didn’t request many.

    A great challenge though!

I’m actually planning on spending the first couple of months of 2016 reading books published last year because I’m pretty sure I’ve missed a few gems. But this challenge is perfect for really getting people motivated (I mean who doesn’t want to win prizes?!) πŸ˜€ Hopefully I’ll be able to make a dent in my tbr pile although I don’t think I”ll really be joining this challenge officially (just keeping track in a small notebook or two).

You aren’t actually posting a review, you would jiust provide link to your Goodreads shelf, showing book read, and comments about the book. However, you don’t have to take part in the giveaway, you can just join. for the community of it..

I’m seriously going to do this! I have about 12 pages on my kindle that are unread books that I need to get read and reviewed! This should be my push to get it done!

This is almost as fun as a spectator as it is to participate. I love watching people clean up their TBR’s. It’s a great way to start the year!

Thanks for hosting again! I’m working on my sign-up post and wanted to know your feelings on books in progress at of the start of the challenge? I was figuring that if I was already almost done, I shouldn’t count it, but if I’m only a little ways in (say 1/3 or less?) that those might be OK? I didn’t see anything in the rules about it though, so I wanted to check. Thanks!
