I hope everyone has enjoyed the holidays. We ended up having a White Christmas, while our family in the East turned their air conditioners on! Despite my persistent cough we had a wonderful holiday. Tuesday we had all the children here for a Turkey dinner and then had surf and turf on Christmas. I was spoiled by both my husband, friends and children. I finally got a K-cup coffee maker and have stayed deliciously caffeinated. One of the authors I work for sent me a signed copy of Red Rising by Pierce Brown and totally made me cry.  Princess Sophia was a joy Christmas morning.  She has begun home domination with all of her new toys!! Today’ goal is simple. Rest, Read and get rid of this cough. If it isn’t improved by Monday I will be dragging myself back to the doctor. The week ahead is filled with Top Ten’s so be sure to stop by and check out my lists.

That jar is a very, very good idea 🙂 I was thinking about keeping a (pretty) booknote that I would fill each day : on one page, everything I did, on the other page, everything that went well or was worth noticing in a good way. I’m so happy your Christmas was so good, but the cough must be tiring you. I bet Sophia was a joy to watch on that morning 🙂 Take care and have a great week, Kim 🙂

  2. Michelle

That’s really awesome that Jennifer sent you a signed copy! It’s such an epic book. And congrats on the new K-cup machine! Part of me still loves a pot of coffee, but the ease of the k-cups are not to be beat in a pinch.
I hope you get the rest you need and that cough goes away!

I’m so happy you had such a wonderful Christmas! And of course I’m a little bit jealous of your signed copy of Red Rising….
Feel better, and have a fantastic week ahead.

Sounds like you’ve had a great Christmas! I managed to spend some time with family as well, but mostly my boyfriend and I just sat at home, enjoying the laziness (which was pretty great). Have a great week!

Sounds like your holidays are going well, despite that persistent cough (I hope you’ll get it sorted soon!) I’m jealous of your white Christmas — for the first time, here, the weather is warm enough to step outside in a T-shirt! Unheard of! I’ll make sure to check your upcoming lists, I can’t wait to see them 😀 Enjoy the season with your family, Kimba <3 Hugs

I’m jealous of the white Christmas! Parts of my county flooded in the UK but luckily we didn’t. It was rather warm though.

I’m glad you had a wonderful Christmas!

I hope you’ll feel better soon. Cough is not a good, especially on holidays. I’m really looking forward to your Top Ten Audiobook Listens For 2015. I’m a big fan of audiobooks and always on the lookout for a good one.

Lori Wilde – yes! I’m super thrilled that you were spoiled for a while. No one deserves it more, and yay to the K-Cup Maker. I’ve seen those things in action and they are totally cool. I was thrilled to spend time with my grandbaby who is almost grown at 5! (lol) Kudos on the steps despite the holiday treats we’ve been surrounded by. I hope that cough goes away soon. That has to be very irritating. Keep us posted. On a personal note, I appreciate your blog and having found you. You share a ton of good stuff! Hugs…RO

We love our Keurig!!! I hope you enjoy yours too. We do everything from coffee to tea to hot chocolate in ours 🙂
Glad Princess Sophia had a good Christmas. Our little man did too. He inherited some of his daddy’s old Star Wars toys and I think those are his favorite!
Hope you feel better this week. Happy reading!

Ooh nice! Yay for signed books!! It’s so cool when your family gets you and knows a signed book is the perfect gift! I’m usually heading out to signings myself, so my family can’t quite get those, or I have to mention to them that you can order signed books from this store from this author.. But it all works out in the end! LOL!

Hope you enjoy all your lovely new reads and your other nonbookish gifts! 😉

So glad you had a good Christmas. Love your signed copy of Red Rising. That is a series that I really want to listen to. I’ve heard how great it is. I hope you cough gets better. Resting sounds like a great idea. I’m trying to stay dry today. We had a monsoon come through over night and it is still going.

Hope you feel better. My son (4-years) was sick for Christmas, poor guy. He’s finally getting better, but still does not feel a 100% this weekend. It’s sad when he’s sick. My parents came into town for Christmas and I cooked my first Christmas dinner. It turned out great. Nice book haul. I love Shelly Laurenston. I hope you enjoy her and it’s always nice to receive signed books from an author you enjoy. Have a great week and Happy New Year!

  13. Michelle

We had all the windows open and the AC was on in one room. It was weird and I was sad. I love cold for Christmas, just didn’t feel right.

I got a Keurig coffee maker for Christmas, I already have one but the new one you can make a pot of coffee instead of a single cup.

I hope you feel better, my husband has the flu, fingers crossed we don’t get it.

I hope you and the family had a great christmas! Have a great week, Kim! Happy New Year and Happy Reading! ox

  14. Kathy

Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas despite the cough. We love our Keurig machine and we just got one for my work. There is always a long line for the machine. I hope you get some rest and have a Happy New Year!

Yay for the Keurig! I love mine and my favorite coffee is Brooklyn Beans which sells on Amazon for about $20. They have lots of flavors and no decaffeinated junk. It’s tasty. What fun to have a white Christmas! We’ve only had one in my lifetime here but it was so pretty. This year we had a rainy Christmas but since we didn’t have to go anywhere that was good too. Have a wonderful week and hope your cough gets better!

That’s awesome you had a white christmas, we had a rainy christmas, but it’s way too warm for snow. I am glad you had an awesome christmas and got a new coffeemaker. I hope you’ll have a great week!

I’m glad you had a wonderful Christmas – except for the cough. Here in Central Texas, we also had the AC on.

Merry Christmas Kimba…so lovely that you had a white Christmas…it was 74 degrees on Christmas Eve for us in NY and in the 60s on Christmas Day…so crazy!!! Hope you have a great week and that you are feeling better soon!!!

Have been hearing about the warm Christmas on the east coast so great you had snow. Looking forward to your review on New Leaf, I have it on pre-order so will have to wait. I believe Catherine Anderson is here in NZ with her son which is nice. Hope that cough departs!

I’m glad to hear that you had a White Christmas! It was one of the warmest Christmas’ we’ve had in a while where I live in the Midwest.

Oh my goodness, lady, look after that cough! Didn’t you get a seemingly never ending cough last year? Rest and heal yourself. Toys, yes, I think I used to have as much fun playing with my son’s toys at Christmas as he did. I don’t know what that says about me though. Ha ha. Little Sophia must have been such a joy to spend the holidays with. Children always make Christmastime brighter. Have a fabulous New Year. 🙂

Another thing to do with the thankful jar is when you are having a bad day, week or month to pull them out and read them. Put them back and be reminded of how blessed you were throughout the year. Sorry the cough is hanging on! I hope it is not the dreaded 100 day cough. Looking forward to your top ten lists. I am working on my favorite post.

Hello Kimberly — hope you’ll be well pretty soon. Hubby had the awful cough this past week, also, but now he’s on the mend. If your family is like mine, Christmas was all about the kids. Our two grandkids are 5 now, so they were all caught up in the Christmas festivities.

And, it looks like your new books stack contains some fun books to read. Wishing you a happy New Year. Next time I check in, it will be 2016!

Glad you had a nice Christmas. I am glad we didn’t have snow where I live. Not ready for that yet!

I hope your cough gets better soon and that the rest helps!. My dad has had a persistent cough since Thanksgiving. He had bronchitis and while that went away the cough did not.

    Have a Happy New Year!

  26. Whitney

I’m glad you had a good holiday, other than being sick. That is no fun at all. I also like the books you got, except for The Mane Event. I can not stand that one, it just wasn’t for me.

I hope you enjoy it though! Have a happy New Year!

A white Christmas would have been nice-so glad you got it. I have been seeing your pictures on Instagram-so pretty. Instead we have had rain everyday here outside of Baltimore. And it’s been warm until today. Glad your Christmas was fun with Sophia, but your cough is worrisome. Maybe a visit to a different doctor? Hope you feel better after your rest!

  28. Aurian

I do hope you are feeling better by now Kimba. It sounds like a wonderful Christmas and I certainly envy you the snow. The month of December has been unseasonably warm here in Holland, with not even a night frost. For the first time since they started keeping records of the weather! I want cold, and snow, and sunshine!

I’m so happy your Christmas was so outstanding, despite being sick, Kimberly! Woohoo on getting a K machine to make getting caffeinated so much easier. 😉 And I’m sure Sophia made the day even more delightful. I kinda miss some of the magic now that all mine are teens. 🙂 Oh, and we had a white Christmas as well. I’ve been enjoying LOTS of family time myself.
I hope you’re feeling much better now!!
