Sunday Post #191  Between my Xoxpert box , Amazon sales, incoming arrivals, books in series I am reading appearing on NetGalley/Edelweiss AND the Audible sales my haul is crazy. Thankfully releases dates go out till May.  I reached my Goodreads Goal of 250 books read on 12/7. Now let’s see how many more I can add to the count. Next Saturday begins my winter break. I will be unplugged from December 19th until January 4th. I spend this time with family celebrating the holidays and recharging. During that time I will have Top Tens, and a few reviews to share with you. The Sunday Post will post each Sunday. Have a wonderful week, and remember to give yourself a little “me” time. Had my physical and my cholesterol is elevated..so things need to change. We have to get the treadmill and will be looking for deals.  Did I mention that when I went to this Doctor appt, I caught hell for not seeing him because I had a slight head cold and cough that had been going on for six weeks? Well he put me on meds and its draining me. I feel awful, cannot breath and want to hide under the covers. I liked the cold and sniffles better but apparently I must have been seriously congested.

Yay for a good haul- can there ever be too many? Well, maybe. Anyway happy reading and hope the holidays are good for you and your family. It’s going by I can’t believe how fast… hope you feel better, it’s a drag when medicine wipes you out.

    Love the quote. LOL.

Ugh! Sounds like you’re having a time of it health wise but hopefully the cold will be well and truly vanquished after the meds are done. You did clean up on the books though! That Sabrina Jeffries book is on my radar as I’ve enjoyed books by a couple of the other authors in the collection and I’ve been wanting to try Kressley Cole. Have a great week and get some rest!

The anthology was good Katherine. I am miserable right now and hope this clears up soon. I too would like to try Cole. Not sure this one works as standalone.

  3. A Voracious Reader

A most epic book haul!! 🙂 I have a dreadmill that I plan to start using again come the New Year. I also have Jessica’s elliptical since she hasn’t moved it out of here yet. So I need to take advantage of it while it’s still here. Boo to the cold! I hope it passes soon. Have a wonderful week, Kim!

We would need to keep it in our bedroom because of Sophia which doesn’t excite me, but it needs to be done. I am so friggin miserable right now..my head is a faucet and my pillow needs me.

  4. Tressa

That is quite a haul! I wasn’t going to take off from my blog, but I’m thinking I’ll just post, but stay offline from for about two weeks while the kids and husband are off of school/work. I have a bunch of books I didn’t get to this year and am still dying to read, so I’m going to check out that rat. Have a great week and break from the blog. And Merry Christmas!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I never took time off but did so last Christmas and it really recharged me. Traffic is low during the holidays and the mental benefits make it worth it.

    • kimbacaffeinate

LOL, yes I have all of my Top Ten Post, End of Year Challenge Results and 2016 Challenges scheduled plus a few reviews of already released books.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I find I truly need this winter break, and traffic is low the last two weeks of December.I post all of my top tens etc then. I am listening to Succubus Revealed now and will post review right before Christmas of all three.

  5. Lexxie

Headcolds can be sneaky, so I’m glad you have something to help you feel better, Kim. Even if you feel wiped out right now, hopefully, you’ll be rid of it completely soon.
Sorry to hear about your elevated cholesterol, I hope that it will get back down to an acceptable level soon.
Your new books all look great! I got Magic Stars, too, and I’m so looking forward to it.
Have a fantastic Sunday, a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Lexxie. I must have had a serious sinus infection because the meds are making me drain and I am so miserable. I think I may crawl back in bed this afternoon. Yes, the cholesterol scared me..I need to be around for a long time to see all of Sophia’s firsts.

  6. Red Iza

I’m sorry you’re not feeling good, I hope you’ll be well enough again when the holidays come, so you can fully enjoy your blog break 🙂 And wow, what a book haul, including my beloved Kresley Cole ! I’ll be reading my first Sabrina Jeffries this week. Relax and enjoy your week-end, and the tequila 😉

It’s part of the Immortals after dark series – I guess it can be read as a standalone, but I bet you’d be missing on some side characters achievement 🙂 I haven’t reached that far in the series yet, but the beginning was ab-so-lu-te-ly great and her sense of humor is always good for the soul !

As you already know, I never remember anything that happened the previous week (lol), but super glad to see you’ll be relaxing a little starting next week.. Looks like you’ve got some fantastic books to read. Yay! I totally love the blinking lights! Hugs…RO

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Ro. I take this break every year and post my top ten. It really recharges me and allows me to enjoy baking, family and the holidays.

Wow!! You’re not exaggerating .. You received a lot of great looking new books! Can’t wait to find out what you think of them. And I’m definitely curious to find out what you think of ‘Misconduct’ by Penelope Douglas. My review will be published tomorrow.

Have a great week Kimberly! 😉

Congrats on reaching your GR reading goal!!! I am almost finished with mine. It is always great to recharge….I might take a couple days away from the blog around the holidays. But we shall see. Great Group of books you have!! I love Monica McCarty…she is simply wonderful.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I did it last year and posted my top tens, reading challenge updates and own tbr pile reviews..it worked well and I came back in the new year recharged and ready to blog.

  11. Michelle

Feel Better Kim! No fun to be sick around this time of year.
I plan to do some unplugging too to get ready for the holiday. You kicked butt on the book getting this week! Epic Haul!
Congrats on making your goodreads challenge! I am hoping to make it to 100 since I finished mine last month at 75. First time I ever finished early.

Have a great week, Kim! Feel Better and Happy Reading! ox

    • kimbacaffeinate

I did this break last year and it totally recharged me.. Plus on Sundays it takes me almost all day to reply and visit everyone..so it will be nice to relax and spend time with family.

  12. Karen Blue

Wow! What a great haul. I am bummed Disney turned me down to review Passenger, but I have pre-ordered it. I hope you enjoy it and all of your new reads.
Have a great break. I probably won’t take one this year, except for a few days to move. But if I a honest your posting schedule during your “break” will probably be about what I my schedule is normally. You read/review a lot faster than most. Congrats on reaching your 250 goal. WOW! I am inspired by you.

I saw your Facebook status. I think they only approved a very small amount. My NetGalley ratio is 98% and I think that was a factor. For my break I have Top Tens, Challenge update and a few reviews scheduled.

  13. Melanie Simmons

I’ve been there with doctors getting after me for not making appointments when I’ve been sick for a while. If I don’t have an appointment already scheduled or don’t need to get a new prescription, I’m really bad about making appointments. I hope you feel better. I know that most meds make you feel worse, but in the long run, they should help.

With my immune issues I should have gone but really it wasn’t getting worse..now however I am sicker with the meds as the draining is killing me..lol

  14. Kristin

YAY!! 250 books AND Sophia all accomplished in the same house!!! Congratulations!

I don’t like it when doctors make you feel bad about seeing them – I HOPE he was kidding!!! If not, that’s enough to not want to see him. Mine has a nurse who guilts me but I avoid her by going to their own practice’s Urgent Care (like I just did on Friday). Hang in there, break is almost here!

BTW, did you make it out on Thurs??? 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

No he wasn’t but you have to remember I have an autoimmune disease and if left unchecked I could develop more serious illnesses. He was right I had a serious sinus infection because I am so sick right now as everything drains…No I was too sick to go. Hopefully later this week.

  15. sherry fundin

I hope you enjoy all your time with family during the holidays. We all need downtime. From Thanksgiving on, I get pretty busy. I continue to blog, but I don’t always have time to stop in and comment. Love your lights, my favorite part of the holidays. 🙂

Sorry to hear the doctor yelled at you. But glad he gave you something to help. Hope you feel better soon. And hope you find a very good deal on the treadmill. 🙂

  18. Lola

Wow you definitely got a great haul of books this week! Enjoy your unplugged time! And yay for reaching your goodreads goal. I reached my goal earlier this year as I set my goal low and read more than I expected. Have a great week!

I hope you feel better! Six weeks is a long time for being sick but I’ve had coughs that last longer than that. Hopefully during your blog break you can get more rest but I’m sure with the holidays and the princess you are going to be busy. Our mail has been crazy too and also frustrating having to deal with the delays. I finally got my XOXpert package after UPS rescheduled the delivery 4 times! Are you planning to be an XOXpert for 2016? I signed up again. Have a great week and I hope you feel better =)

Well it wasn’t getting worse..but apparently the doctor was right because once I started the meds I opened up and I am draining something awful. Heck yes, I love being an Xoxpert.

  20. Kelsey

I hope you feel better soon! I’m making changes to get healthier too, I’m planning on joining a small gym near me this week. I also have time off soon and will be spending it with family as well! Also yay for lots of books! I hope you enjoy all of them 🙂 It’s been a while since I participated in one of these posts, but I’ll be back at it in the new year.

I hope you enjoy your time with your family. I’m taking some time off of work in the final two weeks of December in hopes of finally licking this illness that has been plaguing me for a month or more. During that time, I’m actually going to focus on rolling out the new theme on my blog. Next week can’t go fast enough!

Sorry to hear you’re still sick. At least you went to the doctor and got meds. They may make you feel awful at first, but hopefully your congestion will clear up fast. I’ve been on mail watch as well. There was no way I was going in a store until the new year, save the grocery. I hope you get well soon, and can enjoy your break. Spending time with family is important.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Tiffany hopefully by this time next week I will be feeling good. I still have a little shopping to do since I was too sick this week.

Congratulations on reaching your reading challenge goal! I reached mine early so I’ll have to increase my goal for next year.

I will have to check out the audible sales. I used to have a membership but gave it up when I trimmed my budget a little (and added Netflix and Hulu).

I saw that you got an ARC of Passenger. That is one I’m looking forward to reading next year.

    Have a great week!

      • Jennifer

I at my last job I could listen while I worked so I got in 3-4 audios a week now I’m lucky to get 1 finished within a week. But that just forces me to read more books than listen. LOL Which is good for the 100+ print books I have. I’m donating them to my public library when I finish them so I’m getting them off my TBR pile and out the house.

  26. Kristin

Oooweee! I’m 13 books behind my 175. I need to know what your secret is. 😉 I feel ya though. I have about 5 different books that all came out on the 1st of December that I’m trying really hard to get to. It just seems like all these books hit at once. I can’t wait to read your thoughts on Passenger. I’ve seen that one on Netgalley for a while now and it sounds so intrigue but I’m just not sure if it’s for me.

Nice stack of books! I’m intrigued by the covers of Passenger and Wickedly Ever After, without even knowing what they’re about! Love your holiday blinking lights too 🙂

I also have Try Not to Breathe for review. I see a bunch of reviews up already on Goodreads, but I was going to wait until closer to release time to read it.
    Have a great week, Kim!

Though Seth bugged me a bit…was going to add more, but refraining because I’m not sure how far you currently are in the series! LOL! Happy Reading!

I got Try Not to Breathe, too. Now I need to stay off Netgalley for a while…I’ve been requesting way too many there lately. I’ve been MIA on Twitter lately and it’s been kinda nice. Sometimes taking a break is just the thing to get back on track. Enjoy your break!!!

Oh, Kimba, I’m sorry you’re under the weather again! But I hope all those yummy new books cheer you up. I hope you have a fantastic week, a restful break from blogging, and a wonderful Christmas! (Though I’m sure I’ll pop by to wish you a Merry Christmas closer to the day.)

I hope being on medication will get you better for Christmas. I am sure it will be fun with Sophia. We are looking forward to watching Cole react! Good luck with getting the cholesterol down, I am working on mine using natural methods since I live with chronic pain, I don’t need drugs that add more pain. You certainly did get an awesome haul this week. Good for you on taking a needed break. to recharge. Have a great week and hope you are feeling better quickly.

WOWSOME haul! Fantastic! I went on an Amazon freebie spree, so who knows what my Kindle looks like at this point. All I care about are my steroid meds for my weeks-long double ear infection I’ve been battling. And sleep. I care about sleep!

  33. MarthaE

So sorry to hear you are coping with medical issues. We don’t rush off to the doctor either but I am learning that sometimes it is better to get the meds if the symptoms haven’t left within two weeks. I hope you will be feeling better soon. And yes – treadmill or even consistent walking is good for us.
You did get quite a haul with some really nice covers. I picked up a few at Audible sale too.
Hope you have a great week.

    • kimbacaffeinate

The audible sale was great. I am paying now for not going sooner. I know better since I am auto-immune compromised and shouldn’t play around like that 🙁
