Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

The movie Home Alone celebrated 25 years since its release. I was pregnant with my first child when it released and finding out it has been twenty-five years made me feel old. Ho-Ho-Ho has come to end and I think it was a success. Our challenge hosts had clever challenges and the Twitter party was fun. Not to mention all of the holiday books I added to my wishlist. The link for the Black Friday Hop closes tonight, so if you would like to participate please sign up. For those in the States, Thanksgiving is Thursday and I will be unplugging for a few days beginning Thursday to enjoy family. Have a wonderful week and stay caffeinated!!

Home Alone is 25 years old?? How did that happen? That was the first movie I ever saw with just friends and no adult in the theater. I felt VERY grown up! Great reviews coming up this week! I’m excited to see what you think of Little House Living. I enjoy her blog and have been curious about the book. Have a great week and a very happy Thanksgiving!

HoHoHo was fun, and 25 years? Wow, that’s hard to believe. Good for you for unplugging, family time at holiday time is a great thing.

I read your review of Host, if I were to read one do you think Coma would be the better choice? Sounds like they’re pretty similar…

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 25 years….I can point to many things that make me feel older even, like the number of years since my oldest child was born. He just had a birthday.

Enjoy your book haul…I like the look of He Will Be My Ruin.

Damn, I was about 10 when HA came out. We lived down the road from the mall and movie theater, and my friend and I walked there to watch it but the line went all out the parking lot and all the upcoming shows that day were sold out. Crazy I remember that. And funny how we were allowed to walk all over at such a young age. lol

I have moments like that too, where something happens to remind me of something and I’m like oh, WOW… is that really THAT long ago? On Friday, I was teaching, and we were working on time expressions, with a listening exercise where the students had to write down the date from within a sentence. One of the sentences we listened to was “The Berlin wall fell on November the 9th, 1989′. And I remember that very well, how some of my friends even went to Berlin to get a brick from the wall.
Your new books look great, Kim! I got He Will Be My Ruin as well, and I’m really looking forward to it.
Have a fantastic week ahead, and happy reading.

aww, I have such good memories of Home Alone. I was a kid when it came out, but boy was it fun and is still one of my top favorite movies to watch for Christmas. It’s always fun because the two robbers are so persistent with this kid. Its so funny, no matter how much they get hurt, they just keep going. Love that you added Sarah MacLean to your shelf, she is simply wonderful to read.

Home Alone was such a great movie! I can’t believe it’s been 25 years! I also got He Will Be My Ruin and can’t wait to get to it. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving and family time!

I can’t believe it’s been 25 years, I can remember watching Home Alone so many times with my boys when they were little, although I guess my eldest is 24 lol. Well done on lots of moving … you earned that pie 🙂
Enjoy your unplugged time with family.

The Ho-Ho-Ho challenge was so much fun, and I am still going to read the fifth book, that I didn’t get to, closer to Christmas. I also bought a non-holiday book about the character in Coco does Christmas. Ha! I continue to love Nona’s Corner and am getting good ideas for the someday grandkids library I have started on my Kindle. Enjoy your family time. ☺

I don’t think I saw Home Alone until they started putting it on TV, but that’s a long time ago too! HoHoHo was fun, even if I didn’t make it to the Twitter party; I got more books read than I thought I would, so I was happy. I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family, and enjoy the pie!

I think the HoHoHo RAT was a great success! It ended up being a quiet book gathering week this week, right? 🙂 I needed it!!

I was telling Christy this but it is so the same for you: He Will Be My Ruin is SOOOO your type of book – I’m waiting to see how that one turns out 😉

  12. Michelle

I might be the only one but I never liked Home Alone, I was 16 years old when that movie came out.
I am also going to take a bit of a break next week to enjoy family for Thanksgiving.

Enjoy the Holiday, Kim! Have a great week! Happy Reading. 🙂

I loved Home Alone and I can’t believe it’s 25 years old! So you are not alone in feeling old lol. I’m starting to get into the holiday spirit and we need to buy a new Christmas tree. Hopefully I can grab a good deal on Black Friday lol. I’ll be taking time off the blog for Thanksgiving and then our trip to Disneyland. I hope you have a great holiday with your family!

Wow 25 years. I remember when it came out not to date myself but I was 9. My family watched it together the first time. I still can’t get the kids to watch it but I’m hoping this year will be the year. Looks like you had a great week so many books to check out and add to my ever growing tbr. I’m looking for a quiet week except for thanksgiving when I do all the cooking for all the airmen my husband has invited over for this year. Have a great holiday!!! I hope you enjoy your new books.

Home Alone was such a fun movie. I went with friends and still remember how hard we all laughed. Then I took my dad to see it about a week later. That’s a good memory for me, as well. I had to cancel my trip to Kentucky for Thanksgiving because my cat is very ill and I can’t leave. I hope you have a great time with your family-i don’t blame you for unplugging! Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy that pie!

Oh, that makes me feel old too, Kimberly. The Colorado Symphony is performing the music from Home Alone in December and we’re going to see a performance. We have a holiday tradition of watching holiday movies every night leading up to Christmas and Home Alone is a fav. 🙂 Enjoy your Thanksgiving week! My hubs and kiddos are home so I’m taking the time to spend with them as well. 🙂
