Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

You may have noticed I was MIA most of the week. I traveled to Iowa with my hubby and Sophia to help our daughter negotiate her first auto purchase with a dealer. We had a wonderful time, and she loves her new little red Chevy Cruze. Thanks to all who stopped by and commented. I came home to oodles of email, laundry and lots of catching up to do. I also brought a gift home from our travels -a nasty cough and cold. It is honestly making me miserable. (My head is simply pounding not sure if it is from all the coughing or the sinus pressure.) The Ho-Ho-Ho read-a-thon starts this Thursday and I am excited about the reads I have selected. I hope this week is amazing for you and that you stay caffeinated!

Sorry to hear you’ve returned feeling unwell. I hope it clears up quickly.

It’s a little before my time but California Dreamin’ is my FAVOURITE M&P song!

I want Little House Living! I’ve followed her blog for awhile and she has some really interesting tips. I look forward to seeing what you think of it. I also really want the Molly Harper but I know that’s a later book in a series so I need to start at the beginning. What fun for your daughter with the new car! I absolutely hate the negotiating part but once all the papers are signed and you drive off the lot there’s not much better! Hope you get to feeling better soon and have a great week!

It is funny they sent this Harper book and last weekI bought book one..LOL Yeah my daughter was very nervous, although we were really proud of how prepared she was. I am the family negotiator and managed to get her a deal. So all is well.

I thought that post title looked familiar, then I saw your video. 🙂

Sorry to hear you are sick, get better soon! I hate getting sick when traveling. Looking forward to the readathon.

Forgotten Promises is up for review already?? I’m surprised! Devlin isn’t even out yet but hey, that’s cool by me! I loved Devlin!

I totally knew what your post title meant – now that song is gonna be in dreams tonight 😉 We’ll see how whacked out that’ll go, I just ate a sugar cookie and they say you get weird dreams when you eat before bed. Yeppers… babbling b/c I’m tired 😉

I hope you feel better soon…being sick is no fun at all! Your new books look good…I am curious about The Loft. I have one book by this author that I want to read soon. Thanks for sharing and have a great week.

I’m glad you were able to help your daughter get a car, and that she’s happy with it, Kim! And I’m sorry you’ve gotten sick 🙁 Especially the sinus pressure is awful, and everything just becomes harder. Sending you healing vibes and positive thoughts.
You got a whole load of new books this week, and they look really good. I want to read Fangs for the Memories!
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

Thanks for the vibes..I think the hotel air does it or maybe the filtered air in the car..but in any case the cough is driving me crazy. I bought the first Harper book and was glad to be gifted this one from S&S.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Emma. I agree, since I had work, and laundry and oodles of email and all I wanted to do was sleep. I am doing ok, but will be glad when its gone 🙂

  7. Trish

Of course I was singing California Dreaming as soon as I read that title! And as the wind is howling outside and the rain is lashing down, I”m also actually California Dreaming too 😀 Glad the car shopping went well, it sounds gorgeous! And boo for bringing home germs too, hope you feel better soon.
By the way, I asked a question on my Sunday Post about audiofiles and Christy thought you might know the answer. Whenever you are up to blog visiting, could you check it out? Thanks a mill!

    • kimbacaffeinate

She reached out to me already, but will take a look. I think everyone is singing and wishing to go to Callie. Christy invited us all to her house! hehe

  8. Grace

Yay for getting the car for your daughter. Boo for bringing home a cold. My whole house is currently sick so I understand!! Enjoy your new books and good luck with the read-a-thon. Have a great week!

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well, Kimba. I think it;s worse when you get sick while you’re away from home. Hope you get well soon.

Yeah, although I think it is the dang cough that is causing my head to pound. I have been drinking lots of fluids, resting when I can and just taking it slow in general.

  11. Michelle

Looking forward to the Hohoho RAT. I have been stocking up on lots of christmas reads. I hope you feel better, the weather has been so wonky around here I am worried we are going to catch something.

Hope you get lots of rest, Have a great week, feel better!

Me too..I have my books and audios already..informed my family I would be MIA after dinner and will be baking a batch of holiday cookies for the occasion 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Probably I have an autoimmune disease and I am very susceptible to infection. I kid my friends, that you know I am not dead if I have some kind of cold going on. The coughs are the worst. Now I will have to google because your trivia question will leave me wondering..LOL

  12. Kathy

Good to hear your trip was a success but that’s hard to have a cold again. I hope you feel better. But you did good with your steps. I have to start exercising again this week, my clothes are getting too tight. Our November Xoxpert package had a lot of new to me authors so it’s going to be an interesting reading month for me lol. I hope you feel better and have a good week!

Yes, new to me as well Kathy but I am going to read the prequel novella and Illusions. If I like it I will add the new release to my December pile. I am curious about A Pound of Flesh as well.

  13. Mandy

Even mini little road trips are fun. I hate the sinus pressure and a nasty cough. It seems to be going around my husband and munchkin both have a form of it. At least you have some recovery time now that you are home. I have Sanyare on my bookshelf but haven’t gotten to it yet. I hope you enjoy all your lovely new books. Have a peaceful week and I hope you get better it’s no fun being sick!!

So happy you have The Loft. Betty sent me both books and I’m setting aside time so I can read them back to back!
I remember the excitement of my first car. Your daughter must be thrilled!
Sorry to hear about your cold. Let’s cross our fingers that now that you’ve caught one, you are done for the season:)

    • kimbacaffeinate

I adore her books, and somehow missed the Loft, I was probably booked. Yes my daughter is very happy even with the car pymts..LOL Oh I would be down with not getting sick again all winter…lol

Got back from Mexico yesterday and woke up with the worst sinus issues this morning. I was hoping to get back into my blog groove today but thinking it will be tomorrow. How exciting for your daughter—I remember my first all mine, new car possibly one of the scariest things—negotiating. Kudos to y’all helping 🙂

Oh no….lots of tea, comfy clothes and movies for you! Yes, my daughter doesn’t handle those types of situations well, so we were glad to help her.

  16. Lola

That’s good to hear your daughter bought a new car and loves it. Must be fun to help her pick a new car. Although that’s annoying you’re sick, I hope you’ll feel better soon! Have a great week and good luck with catching up!

I’m glad the car negotiations went well – it’s always exciting buying your first car. Too bad you ended up coming home with a cold though 🙁 here’s to a speedy recovery – head colds are the worst and they can just hang on (I’ve had one for weeks and it’s traveled it’s way into my chest…) Have a great week!

That was wonderful of you to go help pick out the car. I have had a cold for the past 4 days. I’m so hopped up on Robitussin cough medicine that I don’t remember what I had for dinner last night. Hope you feel better.
