This was a quiet week. I used birthday funds to buy more audio credits and refill my Amazon and Nook funds. Woot! I have been busy with Blog Ahead and client work. The leaves are starting to turn and we all seem to have head colds. Fall TV has started back up and we are enjoying watching favorites. I haven’t added any new, we seem to be Netflixing more. I am spending way too much time on is completely addictive. Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-thon is right around the corner, and I hope you decide to join us. Lots of walking this week. I am doing well with food choices but my daughter keeps bringing chocolate into the house. I may have to forbid it..I am weak. It speaks to me.

I’ve been watching way too much Netflix. It’s seriously out of control. Plus it looks like they added some new stuff that I might ant to watch, so there goes more reading time. 🙂

I’m kinda curious about Illuminae, think I’m going to read that one for SciFi Month. Have a great weekend!

Great book week! I’m really wanting to try Daryinda Jones and you have a few others that caught my eye that I need to go check out. Looks like you’re making great use of your birthday funds! I haven’t added many new shows this year either. Not many of the premiers really grabbed me and really the only new show I’ve added is actually in it’s 2nd season so I don’t think that counts. Have a great week!

Love birthday book money! The Illustrated version of HP will be on my doorstep by Tuesday, it’s what I spent my birthday money on and I’m so excited, lol.
You definitely picked up some good looking books this week! I got Illuminae as well.

I hope you have an awesome week, and hopefully everyone feels better soon!

Mmm nice when you can add credits to Audible and build up credit for Amazon and Nook. Nice work with the walking. Enjoy the chocolate just tell her to bring dark – its good for you. Lots of new arrivals, I just don’t begin to know how you read em all.

I didn’t mention it in my update, but I started my week waking up with a bad head cold that lasted through Wednesday, but I started perking up, although still tired, after that. Not much fun. I finally signed up for the HoHoHo RAT. Should be fun! Looking forward to your review of Ice Like Fire By Sara Raasch. Have a fabulous week!

Thank you for the shout-out, Kimba 🙂 Wow, I can’t wait to hear about Illuminae – it’s supposed to be a leviathan of a book and pretty mind-blowing… Have a lovely week & enjoy the use of those newly added funds 😉

Head colds in this house too but I’ve escaped so far! Hope yours is better soon, they are miserable while you have it. Well done on the steps and yes once chocolate comes over the threshold, it’s impossible not to have some. That’s scientifically proven, believe me I’ve done enough experiments to know! 😀

I love that you are able to listen to audio books. Here in the Netherlands they aren’t really popular and I can’t really get the ones I would like since you need to life in the US of GB for a lot of them. I’ll keep trying though 😉
It looks like you received some awesome books this week. I love the look of ‘These Shallow Graves’ by Jennifer Donnelly.

Have a great week Kimberly 😉

We’re in spring here, and it’s been windy and raining. Wonderland is on my radar, such a creepy cover. Have a great week!

  10. A Voracious Reader

I really want to watch some of the original content they’ve added on Netflix, but I really don’t watch much tv. I go through the occasional binge, but that’s about it. I need to step up my Netflix game. lol Yay for birthday book funding! And, do you know, I *still* haven’t looked at PicMonkey? I keep forgetting about it. *slaps forehead*

Isn’t it fun to use birthday money for books, Kimba? That’s one of my favorite ways to spend that money, too. I’ve been eyeing Illuminae so I’ll look forward to your review of that. I hope you get over your colds soon. Have a great week.

Glad to see you are having fun with Blog Ahead. I am loving the weather right now. I know its going to get cold soon, so I am just enjoying the perfect weather. Thanks for the heads up on Nose Graze widget. I love the idea of the book icons. I have been on Netflix more too, just catching up on Blue Bloods. Hope you have enjoyed your weekend.

I am loving this fall weather! Our leaves are changing too 🙂 How did you enjoy Ice Like Fire? I finished it earlier this week myself. Didn’t think it was as a good as the first but still enjoyed it.
I’m going to have to check out Ashley’s new add on. I love her stuff!
Have a great week and enjoy all those new books! (Fated is perfect!!)

Not doing as good as I thought I would for Blog Ahead since I keep getting further behind in October 🙂 Going to start a new plan of doing at least one November posts mixed in with finishing my October posts. I hope it works 🙂

Loving this time of year and watching the leaves change is my favorite.
Have a great week Kim, Happy Reading! ox

That’s great you got some extra book money! I have been busy with Blog Ahead as well, i got a nice start and I hope I can keep doing this well, although this week will be a more busy week probably, so less blogging. I love the fall weather and I haven’t catched a cold yet luckily. I’ll have to check if I can participate in the ho-ho readathon, I have one christmas themed book for review that releases this year, so I might be able to read that if I don’t read it before that. I hope you have a great week!

Oh birthday moneys… *sigh* I don’t much of that anymore, but that is lovely to add to the book funds. 🙂 I wish I could get involved on the read-a-thons and bloggvistas more. Life just seems to love to clash with the chosen days for those. Darn it. lol.

Hope you have a great week!

I’m looking forward to your thoughts on Illuminae. Everyone is raving about it. Looks like you added some wonderful new books to your collection. I was shocked when I realized I hadn’t taken in any new review books this week. LOL Kind of nice and I plan to slow down on that so I can read some of those books I was dying to read and never got to.

  18. Kathy

That’s how I would spend my birthday money! I’m already thinking of my wish list for Christmas to give to my husband and gift cards are #1. There are a lot of great shows and I might have to wait until they go on Netflix. I just don’t have time to watch TV and read lol. I hope you have a great week and everyone feels better!

Can’t wait to see what you think of Illuminae, it’s on my TBR mountain. Yay for birthday book splurges and good stepping. Eat chocolate while you walk I say 😉
Boo to those head colds, hope you all feel better soon!

I have been on picmonkey a lot this past week, too. I blame Blog Ahead and all the thumbnails I’ve been having to create. But omg they have new fonts now and they are sooo cute! YAY for more audio credits and funds for books! 😀

  21. Lark

Some of those books you got this week look very tempting! PicMonkey is indeed addictive. So is chocolate! 😉 Just looked at the scale this morning and decided I’d better swear off pretty much everything.

BTW, have you tried Canva? It’s useful for making graphics, too.

I’m hoping to read Illuminae this week and I want to read Ice Like Fire. I hope the colds clear up but I’m glad you are enjoying the change of season. I watched some fall TV premieres and have watched a lot of Netflix too. Picmonkey is addictive! I like all the cool extra features. What they really need to add is an app!

  23. Rita

Sounds like you had a great birthday week. I love the pic of Sophia waiting for books–cutie pie! I hear you on chocolate– I’m banning extra goodies from the house, or they can keep it in a pantry I won’t go in; I have to lose weight before the holiday five pounds creep on me as usual 🙂
I also love PicMonkey and Netflix and sometimes spend too much time on them… and Netgalley, of course.
I’m curious about These Shallow Graves and though I won’t be doing an audio of it when I get it, stories like this, so suspenseful, must be a great listen. Hope to read your thoughts on it soon.
    Have a great week ahead!

Early autumn may be one of the most beautiful times of the year but catching a cold always dampens the beauty of it. Hope you feel better soon!

I love buying books with birthday money because I don’t feel as guilty about buying them as I normally do. That’s probably just me though. I have buyer’s guilt.

I wonder how Illuminae will be for you on audio…? I am so excited for fall! It is so beautiful here right now. Also, fall tv mean The Walking Dead!!! Happy reading (and listening). I hope you all feel better soon.

I am hoping to focus on Blog Ahead more tonight, and this week in general. I haven’t really had much free time – and I still need to schedule stuff for this month! haha

I keep trying to use PicMonkey more too – I’m not that great at it, but it’s fun to check out the various things they offer (especially for free!). I hope to use more of the features as I go along – spice up the posts a bit more with some fun images.

Great caption on the photo! Hope all are feeling better. My reading has slowed watching all the new fall programs. I’ve got to decide which ones are keepers! Brighter Than The Sun grabbed my attention.

Cute picture! We all have colds here as well-mine arrived tonight after everyone else has been coughing for days-I was hoping I was going to get away without it but nope. I love it when the trees turn, it’s so beautiful-ours have just barely started turning. I hope you enjoy all your books 🙂 And all feel better soon!

  29. Mary Kirkland

Hope you had a great birthday. I just got rid of Netflix. I couldn’t find anything worth watching but I have cable. I’ve been loving some of the new tv shows, Quantico, Code Black and Blindspot are all really good.
