Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Good Morning! This week was a quite one. I did announce that I am co-hosting Blog Ahead. A challenge in October to schedule posts in advance. While the goal is 31 posts in 31 days, you can set your own goals. I plan on getting all of my top ten done, my Thanksgiving and Christmas posts, a few Recipe and Recs not to mention March’s Take Control posts. I hope you will join in the fun. Imagine having extra posts ready, particularly as we enter the crazy holiday season. Today, we are taking the kids to an event for my hubby’s work at Vala’s Pumpkin Patch,  one of the largest pumpkin farms. I have a tour opportunity in November for a holiday novella, so check it out and consider joining. I will be replying and visiting back but it might take me a few days. Enjoy your week and stay caffeinated!!

Definitely need to sign up for the Blog Ahead challenge, I’ll have to leave myself a sticky note so I don’t forget (I do that a lot now).
I hope you enjoy your week!

    Love the full-ass quote!

You’re very good, hosting a challenge. I’m too lazy to even sign up for anything… Maybe I’m a commitment-phobe and that’s why I’m single… eek!

Have a lovely week and I hope the pumpkin farm visit goes / went well!

LOL, I love motivate others. Plus, I practice blogging ahead, so this was a perfect fit for me. I am excited about today’s visit. It is only open to my hubby’s work and it gets crowded once it opens to public.

  3. Lexxie

I’m not really good with read-a-thons, I have only tried to participate once, and I felt like my ‘me’ time and pleasure of reading became a competition against the clock… I know many people love them, though!
I think I might participate in the blog ahead thing 🙂 It’s never bad to have as many posts as possible already scheduled.
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading, Kim 🙂

I never feel competitive during read-a-thons but have never participating where the amount of books read nets you a prize. I usually select a few books and attempt to read them. I actually like the challenges and twitter parties, ya know the community of it. Now challenge me and I feel the need to beat or surpass my

I hope you enjoy your trip to the pumpkin patch! 🙂

The Blog Ahead challenge sounds like a great idea, I’m totally going to check that out. I have so many review posts to write and zero motivation, so perhaps it’ll help!

I haven’t been very good with scheduling posts lately, so I’m joining the Blog Ahead challenge! The Pumpkin Patch sounds like fun 🙂 I’m looking forward to Halloween and the rest of the cold season

I finally got back around here to read your The Accident Season review. I think it will make a wonderful October read. I still have to have a look at your Recipe and Color Me Mindful post. I linked up with your Ho-Ho-Ho, and am going to go look for the Christmas witch book I loaded to my Kindle last year. I am going to go over to Netgalley to see if anything else in a holiday read catches my eye. Have a terrific week. 🙂

I like quiet weeks. 🙂 I did 17 posts yesterday. Too bad it’s not October already. 😀 Have fun at the pumpkin farm! I remember when my parents rented a few fields to the neighboring greenhouse and they did hay rides/pumpkin picking. I worked for them one year and I drove the tractor. It was mostly fun. 🙂

I did Blog Ahead last year and it helped. Now I have stayed a couple of weeks ahead all the time. But, I also felt lots of pressure, self-imposed, my own fault. I will be visiting around later, lots going on here today. When a Scot Ties the Knot is on my list, but since the e-galley never came in properly and I will have to read my print copy it gets pushed down the list,

Oh, the first Halloween!! Right? What a cool idea for a company outing in the fall! A pumpkin patch!! Ours has apple picking, too – I should drag my boy (kicking and screaming, no doubt) out to ours before the apples are gone. I’m sure the pumpkins are early, too. BTW – do you still instagram?

    Have fun today!!!!

  11. Grace

Enjoy the pumpkin patch! We will probably take the kids to one by us later this month that also does apple picking. Love the fall for this kind of stuff!! Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

How can it be pumpkin patch time again?! I can’t believe fall is almost here. Actually, it’s finally starting to cool down a little here: it was 62 when I got up this morning, and it’s only going to get to about 73 today. But early in the week, it was still in the low 90s. Anyway, enjoy the family time and the pumpkin patch! And have fun with those new books!

I’m all set for Blog Ahead and HOHOHO. I got so much done Blogging Ahead in the spring. Like you I’m going to do a lot of my regular memes and any reviews that I can. Enjoy the pumpkin patch, those days are so much fun!

I am really looking forward to blog ahead, last year I didn’t do so good because it was in November but having it in October makes it so much better for me.

Have fun at the pumpkin patch, I think we are going apple picking soon but at the moment I can’t find a weekend to do it. If no one wants to go I will go by myself 🙂

Have a great week, Kim! Happy Reading

  15. Lillian

I love going to the pumpkin patch! Little man enjoys it so much 😀 We plan to go next month when the leaves are changing.
Looking forward to your Blog Ahead challenge. I plan to sign up! I could really use some scheduled posts in reserve!
Hope you enjoy Queen of Shadows! I read it this week and have such a hangover from it. BUT it is SO good!
    Have a great week!

  16. Melissa (My words and pages)

Oh that’s a great idea to schedule posts for over the holidays. They are done and you don’t have to worry about them with everything else going on. 🙂

Hope you have a great week this week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

It is the only way I could post so many reviews. I have been as far as 8 weeks ahead, but dipped to 2-3 weeks when my daughter had her baby…LOL

  17. Lola

Blog Ahead was a big help to me last year and I’ve managed to retain quite a buffer throughout the year thanks to that challenge. Unfortunately I don’t think I can participate this year, I got some extra marketing assistant work for next month that will take up a lot of my extra time beside my normal work, so less time for blogging :(. Good luck with the challenge!
That pumpking farm sounds like a lot of fun! I hope you’ll have a great week!

Yeah maybe I will do that, set my goals low. It just feel like a failure when I can’t do as much as last year, but you’re right even if I only write one or two posts each week it’s still progress.

My husband’s company did that a few years ago with a local pumpkin farm and it was so fun! I love the idea of a readathon but with the Tornado as young as he is I somehow can’t quite make them work. Maybe in a couple of years. Have a great week!

They really spoil us with a free lunch, admission and all the rides. Then they give us fake money to shop, eat kettle corn and everyone gets a free pumpkin 🙂 I however am pooped.

The Blog Ahead Challenge sounds like just what I need right now. I’ve been struggling with getting posts ready because I’m so tired when I get home from work. Have a great week!

You’ll make nice memories today at your pumpkin patch event, especially with Sophia! We lived in FL when the kids were growing up, but when we moved up north when they were teens they still had a blast with their first time going to a real orchard to pick apples and choose a pumpkin. Good times…

I have the second in the Sarah J. Maas on my kindle for awhile– I need to get into that series deeper. Enjoy planning all your challenges and holiday events for the blog– I’m ready for HoHoHo 🙂

I need the Blog Ahead Challenge. Although, 31 posts sounds daunting, I need the encouragement that I can do it. I am currently reading Queen of Shadows and really enjoying it. I am curious what your thought will be about it.

10:00 in the morning and already close to 40 people have posted comments! We love going to the pumpkin patch, but it’s a still too hot here in Texas to enjoy being outside for too long. We’ll probably wait until closer to Halloween our trip. Of course you’ll take lots of pictures.

I’m looking at the Ho-Ho-Ho readathon, but I’m not sure if I can dedicate an entire week to holiday books. I may join in on a “part time” basis, reading from my regular TBR list as well as holiday books.

This was perfect because it is only open to my hubby’s employer. You can read winter books too. You only need to really read one holiday or winter themed book

Going to a pumpkin patch sounds like so much fun! Believe it or not we have never done that and we always plan to each year and then something happens and we forget, maybe this year we can get it together and finally go!

I hope you have fun at the pumpkin patch….I remember when we were kids, we always used to go pumpkin picking. So much fun!!! I need to look into that Blog Ahead Challenge – I’m always behind on reviews and stuff…it would be nice to get a bit a head for once.

    Have a nice week!

I hope you sign up, you do not have to do 31 but if you did 2-3 a week you could free up some time around the holiday and it is wonderful being ahead.

  25. Melinda Dean

Thanks for hosting the weekly Sunday Post. I signed up the Blogging Ahead last week I think. Didn’t sign up for read-a-thon but probably will.

As usual, I’m woefully behind, but had to peep in to say “hey” and hope your cold is all better. I’ve been seeing pumpkins popping up all over the place and all kinds of pumpkin decs in the store. Ashley always has some neat posts, so thanks for sharing. Happy Sunday to you and hugs..Ro

I’m still waiting for Queen of Shadows to arrive, very patiently (not at all). I ordered the signed copy so it’s taken a while to get here :/ I hope you like this one. I still have to read books 2 and 3 but I’m hoping I get to them soon. The blog ahead feature looks really nice! I’m thinking of joining. I just need to fine a free time during this semester to do so because I’m full!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Ooo a signed copy how exciting. I am looking at mine, but must get through a few arcs first 🙁 I hope you join Blog Ahead, even if you manage to do only one or two posts ahead a week, it will make finals and the holidays easier.

I hope the pumpkin patch was fun! I made my first batch of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins last week…thought of you. 😉 I’m making more today since my kiddos inhaled them. It’s starting to feel like fall around here. *sigh* I hope you’re having a great week so far!
