Your blog blew up?! Oh, no! I’m glad you were able to restore it… and I’ll be looking into backing up mine posthaste.

Also, I’m looking forward to your review of Energized (and mine appearing on my Kindle!) And to seeing what you think of A Curious Beginning, which I have also but haven’t read yet. And The Last Chance Christmas Ball – several favorite authors contributing to that one! I’ve requested it but haven’t heard back yet.

It was totally my fault, I was messing with it and caused a fatal error. Thankfully I use VaultPress. I pay about 55.oo a year for it and they automatically back-up everything from theme to comments. However the last restore was done yesterday morning..so I lost all comments, replies etc from Saturday/today. My Sunday Post I work on all week, but it was still in draft at time of restore, so had to retype my personal message and lost the around the sphere I shared..but hey it could have been worse. Imagine if I hadn’t backed up for a month.

Yes, I was under the hood, and didn’t make a copy of what it looked like before I did change as I usually do. Lesson learned my friend, lesson learned.

Aside from losing all of the previous comments on the Sunday Post and all of my replies I did to previous posts Saturday afternoon..it is all good. It really is important to do backups daily,

Ouch, when I hear of people breaking their blog, I feel the pain! I’m so scared of that happening, luckily you were all backed up and have enough knowledge to restore it. I’m not sure that I do. I do back up but…..

Both Sister and A Curious Beginning look great. And happy stepping this August, you can do it!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I use a paid plugin called VaultPress they charge around 55 a year but they automatically back up everything daily and you can restore at the click of a button even from your phone. .no geeky knowledge needed.

I use a paid plugin called VaultPress, it automatically backs up the blog daily and can be restored with the click of a buton. You can download it though and save to the cloud but I prefer the automatic and one click feature.

You’re on blogger right? I think you can do it from your dashboard, but you should then upload that info to cloud storage in case your computer gets hosed.

I’m sorry that you had so much trouble with you blog! You read A LOT of books last month! Keep up reading!

First week here. Trying to get to everyone on the linky!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Awe thanks. I guess after 4 years of blogging it was bound to happen once. Thankfully the backup worked and surprisingly I was up and, running again in less then an hour

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thank you Martha, yes backing up your blog is very important. On the upside I out my back-up plugin to the test and it passed. LOL

I’m commenting under duress… I am soooo kidding!!!! I forgot what I said the first time! Oh, I remember, it was about training my son to fetch πŸ˜‰ And Christmas books πŸ™‚

Back it up, back it up, back it up… beep, beep, beep!! btw, I’m feeling better, I ran today! I’m loopy now but feeling better πŸ™‚

    • kimbacaffeinate

Bwahaha oh lord I love ya Kristin. πŸ™‚ I am glad you are feeling better. Did you back up your blog? Now go rest your loopy head.

Oh…I always worry about my blog crashing. Knock on wood, I’ve had no issues. I’m on blogger and am not really that tech-savvy, so if there ever was an issue, I’d be screwed! I keep thinking about switching over to word-press – seems like there are just more options, but I really like my design and really haven’t had any issues so far. Oh well…something to really think about. Glad everything is ok now.

You should still back-up your blog on Blogger and can do so from the dashboard. Both platforms have pros and cons..its whatever works for you,

I’m sorry your blog crashed! That really sucks. πŸ™
I hope the rest of your week goes better. I’ll be interested in seeing what you think about Go Set a Watchman, I haven’t read Mockingbird but I’ve heard so many different reactions to the new book.

Yes. What possessed me to mess with my theme on a Sunday without copying original code into note first is beyond me. Thankfully it worked out

    • kimbacaffeinate

Awe no worries Lorna, while it was sad to lose the comments it was only for part of Sunday and Saturday. It was my own fault, thankfully I lost only comments and not posts.
