Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

I am happy to report that I am still among the living. Each day I see improvement. It is hard to believe this month is half over, that this year is half over! I am 8 books behind on my yearly Goodreads goal of 250 and hope to catch up soon. NetGalley has Christmas books appearing and it got Jen @ Book Shelfery and I thinking about the Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-thon. Look for signups in September. I have a fun mix of reviews this week and hope you enjoy them. While I am managing to reply and visit to those who comment on posts during the week, (albeit slowly)  I am taking the next two Sundays off to rest. (I will still post the Sunday Post) Stay Caffeinated!

Christmas books already- woo hoo! Um, OK just kidding. Seriously though, it is hard to believe we’re halfway through the year. Glad you are feeling better- enjoy your weekend. And thanks for the linkto Megan- I need to get caught up on those 50 state posts.

I read and reviewed Go Set A Watchman this week. It wasn’t what I expected but… interesting nonetheless. I can’t help but wonder what have happened if she’d been allowed to release it first and followed up with TKAM.

And on the book front… you’ll catch up in no time. (And I cannot believe NG has Christmas books out. I’ve been staying away as I’m behind in my reading and worried I’ll find new books I want to read!)

I know exactly what you mean by still being present. I haven’t been responding to my comments very well lately and it’s really bugging me, but when I’ve been swamped and then sick this week, those things just kind of slide. I hope you have a great week and that you enjoy those upcoming Sundays off! 🙂

Ha ha, I love the Totally Random! I will be running to the coconut cake post for the recipe and the rec because I saw the pic of the cake on Facebook, and YUMMERS, my mouth started watering. When I was little, I always asked for coconut cake for my birthday cake. I will be going to read Rita’s post because I am one of those Harper Lee fans who will not be reading Go Set a Watchman. I am so happy you are on the mend. have a fabulous week, and rest.

WTH!?!? I can’t believe this thing has decided to take residence in your lungs. I’m still prayin’ girl! btw, I’m out of town right now so don’t bother visiting me! I did answer when they asked if I wanted Geomancer – thought I’d give it a try since so many loved that series! Otherwise, I just got that YA True Grit book, Vengeance Road but the eARC has been a bear to download! OH, and I have to tease Christy b/c I got approved quickly by Sourcebooks Fire for a book!!!

    Please feel better soon!!!

I’m glad you’re starting to feel better, Kimba! Take it easy and don’t push, please – we all just want you to get over this thing. I’m looking forward to your review of Siren’s Call – I’ve already preordered it. The Art of Sinning is sitting on my shelf waiting for me to finish my current book. And I read The Hidden this week – see, you finally got me into Heather Graham!

Praying for your speedy return to health. Have a good and restful week!

I have been all about Christmas the last couple of days lol I already started grabbing a few xmas reads and looking forward to the Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-thon.

I hope you enjoy all your new reads! I grabbed This is where it end.

Have a great week, Kimba! Happy Reading

Nice! Not seeing as many Go Set a Watchman as I thought I would. I never really enjoyed TKAM when I was in school. I rarely enjoy the classics it seems. No paranormal beings in them at all! Except Dracula, which I did read and I have intentions to read Frankenstein at some point too!

Hope you enjoy your new reads!

I’m glad you are still among the living! Rest up and take care.

I got my first Christmas review book last week and thought of the Ho Ho Ho-a-thon. I have some older books that I’ve been saving also.

I hope you feel better soon! I was also sick this week and slowly getting back to full energy. I just got the first book of the Crown & Key series and I can’t wait to read it. I hope you enjoy all your books and get a lot of rest!!

Glad to hear you’re feeling better if not 100%. Hopefully some rest will get you to as good as new soon. You’ve got some great reviews coming up this week! I’m really looking forward to your review of The Art of Sinning. Have a great week!

I hope you continue to get better this week and get some rest today.

I am not ready to think about Christmas or Christmas themed novels yet! Of course I have already started looking for ideas for my library’s Holiday Open House now that I know we will be having one again.

I got Go Set a Watchman from the library this week. I hope you enjoy the audio version. I’ve heard Reese Witherspoon did a nice job with it.

I bet I speak for everyone when I say *sternly with a finger shake* we don’t want to see return comments. Rest, relax and continue to breathe. And I’m glad you’re on the mend. {{{posivibes}}} And if it makes you feel any better, I’m 18 books behind. LOL

I loved your review of Swerve which I also read and reviewed, albeit briefly. Yes, dark, violent, gory and reminded me of those summer slasher flicks like I Know What You Did Last Summer, lol. I now want to read that wee Scottish cozy– sounds like fun! And curious about the Coconut Cake title coming up this week. So glad that you are doing better, and yay for taking off the next two Sundays to chill out. You are so hard-working; you deserve it!
(thanks for the shout-out; I had some very thoughtful comments come my way on it).

I’m glad you are feeling better, hopefully you can rest up enough to fully recover. I’m sure you can get back on track, you’re a reading machine. I’m 46 books ahead on my target, but I always put 100 books as my target each year so I can keep track of how fast I’m reading. I usually hit about 130 each year, I want to get in more so it’s sort of like training so I can work my way up to the 200 range in time. I hope you have a good week this week Kimba!

  20. Kristin T.

Glad to hear you’re on the mend! I can’t believe the year is half way over…where is the time going??? I’m trying to stay off Netgalley right now – too much temptation and my stack of books is out of control right now! Hope you have a great week!!!

I hope you enjoy your new books. As fast as you seem to read, I’m sure that you’ll be ahead of schedule fairly soon. I’m behind a bit on my annual goal of 200 books, but ‘way behind on writing and posting reviews. I’m passing up on NetGalley for a while until I catch up.

  22. Introverted Jen

I intend to avoid Go Set a Watchman as well. I just love TKAM so very, very much that I don’t think there’s anyway another book could live up to my expectations. That said, I’ll be curious to see what you think! I hope you continue to feel better!

Great haul this week Kim! I hope you feel better–remember that resting is always key. I don’t know If i’ll everget around to reading Go Set A Watchmen. I feel like it should potentially tarnish my memory of KAMB and I just can’t have that. That being said, I am open to hear about your thoughts on the book.
