Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Hubby arrived home Friday night (parties over) and we were glad to see him. I enjoyed my “me” time last week and managed a book a day. I slept late and stayed up late. I even had a pajama day. We had temps in the high 90’s and tons of rain making my lawn look like a jungle. The week ahead has a little something for everyone. I hope your week was a good one and that the week ahead brings you unexpected joy. Stay Caffeinated!

So glad you enjoyed your me time! A pajama day sounds great and like the perfect way to avoid those temperatures! Great books this week. I love the look of Wally the Warm Weather Penguin. I’ll have to look for that one. Have a great week!

I have WAY TOO MANY pyjama days I’m afraid. I’m not working at the moment and if I don’t have to go out (which is most days) I don’t bother getting dressed. I’m starting to think it’s a bad thing though and thought I should try and take my laptop out to do some writing rather than staying home day after day.

Keen to hear what you thought of Memory Man as I’m a little in love with Amos Decker!

Thanks Lillian, I enjoyed the way that was written, I will share my thoughts on Tuesday. Hopefully we both see sunshine this week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I feel bad for ya all, but the cops told me last time I danced naked under the moon that they didn’t care how dry Callie was I had to keep my clothes on. Sorry. 🙁

  3. Greg

Sounds like a good week of reading at the caffeinated household! 🙂 We’re not nearly that hot, although it did get a bit muggy a time or two. We did have some nice weather though. I think Wally the penguin looks good too- a fun read hopefully. Have a great weekend!

It is cute Greg, my granddaughter loves it. It is 74 now at almost 1 am. Very muggy here. We did see the sun on Saturday and the jungle has been tamed.

  4. Lexxie

I’m glad you took full advantage of your ‘me’ week! Staying up late and sleeping late is such a treat 🙂 Especially if the day and evening can then be spent mostly reading.

Thanks for sharing Anja’s discussion post – I’m off to check it out right now.

Have a great week ahead and happy reading 🙂

It was nice. I usually get up with my hubby and make his coffee. So Sophia and I got to sleep in until 8:30!! LOL Have a lovely week!

  5. Grace

Oh PJ days are the best!!! Sleeping in is something I look forward to once my kids decide 5am is too early to wake up! I agree so much with your totally random – I like to cook but sometimes no thank you. Have a great week!

I work at home and I also work out or on house projects. So I get dressed, then I get a shower and get dressed again. In the summer it’s a dress and in the winter it’s my “better” sweats.
I liked the blog post on looking at the blog from different “angles.”

Aw that’s a bummer the party is over! But it’s always the best when they come home 🙂

I received the first book in the Brightwater series. So excited to read it!

Glad you had such a good week, Kimba. It’s nice to have the house to yourself sometimes. It was hot and humid here last week, too. Didn’t make me want to spend too much active time outside! Have a great week!

We had hot too, and almost broke a record. Between that and the rain it wasn’t much fun outside. Hopefully we both get pleasant weather this week!

  9. Kelsey

I’m glad you got a lot of reading in, and yay for pajama days! Those are the best. I didn’t get much exercise in either, but I did do more walking around the house and less sitting, so that’s got to count for something!
    Have a great week 🙂

That sounds awesome and I wish my husband would leave for a couple of days lol. I have always considered going on vacation alone for like a weekend, like a refresh 🙂

Ohhhhh!! You had a FREE week!!! Did you even do dishes??? It must have been heaven to get so much done on computer, huh? And reading!!! My hubs works midnights and leaves for work at 10:15 so I get late nights to myself so I kind of know what it’s like. But it’s awesome when he gets back, though!

I can’t believe how hot it was with all the rain you’ve been getting! UGH! No, I wouldn’t have walked, either. We’ve been getting the rain in MI, too.

Nice “quiet” haul this week! I haven’t even looked in a while. I’m very afraid to…. tee hee!! Have a great week!!!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Yes quiet haul weeks are good. I am glad hubs is home, and I did dishes that required very little clean up while he was away.

  13. Lola

That must have been nice reading a book a day! Yay for pyjama days! Most days are pyjama days for me, although I do shower every day and put on a t-shirt, I walk around in my pyjama pants most days as I work from home and pyjama’s are comfy.
That penguin book looks so cute! I am sure I would’ve loved that as a kid as penguisn are one of my favourite animals. Hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books!

A week alone sounds like heaven. I would love to just relax and only have to plan meals for myself lol. Your weather is just like ours – rain one day and then the hot the next day. I hope you have a great week!

I didn’t quite get daughter and her hubby live with us, along with Sophia. But we ate simpler fare and my nights were all mine.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Hehe..I have a think for Penguins too, and it is adorable. I will be sharing for Nonna’s corner, but can tell you my granddaughter loves it.

  15. Rita

Ha, your “Totally Random” pic is so spot-on! Glad you enjoyed “me time” this week. It’s so important for everyone to have days when they can march to their own drummer and I get so precious few of those days that I love them when I can! Pajama days, drinking coffee, reading, and lounging in bed, yes!
Looks like some fun posts you have coming up this week. I’m still interested in An Ember in the Ashes that you reviewed last week and I loved Memory Man that you review this week, though mine was a print copy.
    Enjoy the weekend!

It’s been hot and rainy here as well though I can’t complain about the heat. I’d rather have warmer weather than winter!

It’s nice to have time to yourself and even enjoy a “pajama day”. I’ve had weekends like that too. Actually any weekend that I don’t work especially in winter…

  18. Cindy

Thank you Kimberly so much for mentioning Tout Sweet Book Tours! I really appreciate it:) I will not be taking part in the Sunday Post this week & next. I am visiting family in CA and will be in the Sierra’s for most of the trip where the Internet can be very unreliable. Have a great week!

  19. Ramona

I love pajama days!!! I do them too, sometimes 🙂 I expect more of them during the summer. Can’t wait for your The Night We Said Yes review! Have a wonderful week, Kimba <3

That last meme, is my motto all summer long and sometimes in the rest of the seasons as well. 😛

It has been in the 90’s here too and I’m sorry but that is just way too hot for June 🙁 I’m not loving it at all.

My first time linking up. Thanks for hosting!

90s are perfect pajama weather as far as I’m concerned. I do love summertime but not that kind of heat! Enjoy your week!

  22. Teddyree

I’m running late this week and it’s just started lol … that does not bode well! Wally the Warm Weather Penguin was such a cute read, my granddaughter loved the bright colours.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading 🙂

Eeekkk, super late joining the link up as I had a migraine yesterday. Feeling a bit better today but I’m declaring it a pyjama day 🙂 Didn’t realise your hubby was away but glad to hear he is back. We do miss them even though they can drive us crazy too!

  24. Tyler H Jolley

I’m glad you had a great week! We vacationed in Lake Powell last week so I had limited phone/internet. It was awesome and scary to be disconnected.

  25. Lindy

It’s always great to have a little bit of “Me time,” and pajama days are so much fun! I’m looking forward to your review on, Hard to be Good.” I haven’t read any of the books in this series, but have, Hard to Let Go for review 🙂 Yay for Right Wrong Guy! I have book one for review and am thrilled!!! Happy Reading Friend 🙂

When my kids were young they belonged to Indian Guides and once a month they all went camping with my hubby and tribe for the weekend, it was bliss. I didn’t get the whole house to myself as daughter, her husband and my granddaughter are living with us, but as a married woman I am sure you can appreciate having evening and the tv in your bedroom all to yourself 🙂
