Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

For the month of May I read/listened to 28 books, 26 of which were part of the Clean Sweep Challenge. I now have June completely scheduled and have built my cushion significantly. Thank you too all who joined in the fun and a special hug to all of the hosts who challenged us! My husband is away on a business trip all week and I intend to have a book orgy, drink ungodly amounts of coffee and eat all of the foods he hates. Stay caffeinated and have a wonderfully bookish week!

It sounds like you have a lovely week planned! My husband used to travel all the time and I hated it until I finally decided to make the best of it and do exactly what you’re doing. It got much more fun after that! I’ll be curious to see your thoughts on Ice Twins. I’ve got a bunch of reviews for it saved but am so behind on my blog reading that I haven’t actually read any of them yet. The cover is definitely eye catching though! Have a great week!

Mine rarely does and well when the cat is away the mouse will play. Of course my daughter, her husband, their daughter and my son will still be here…lol but they are helping to plan the menu and I plan to read the night away.

  2. Deborah

I received Finders Keepers as well and am looking forward to it.

Love that Meme about making yourself at home. I’d totally do that!

Nope that isn’t it at all. When he is home I want to spend quality time with him…doing things we both like. Sure, I can’t dance in my bedroom at 2 am cause he is sleeping or eat breakfast for dinner every night but when the opportunity arises I indulge 🙂

  3. Michelle

I could go for a bit of alone time again, so I’m totally envious of you right now! It looks like you have a ton of great new review books to read, hopefully they all turn out as good as they look.

I’m doing Booking Through Summer also, and 20 Books of Summer, but the books can count for each other, so I should do OK.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I know all about buying books and not being able to get to them. I have pre-ordered books from back in February calling my name..so many books, so little time.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Not flu, but shitty just the same. I had a sinus infection, took meds got better and now have a horrible cough and stuffy nose. Damn weather 🙂

  5. Lexxie

It’s actually pretty nice sometimes when husbands need to go on a week-long trip 🙂 Enjoy the book orgy and all the food you don’t normally make when he’s around!
Have you already read the Psy-Changeling series, or are you starting it now? It’s one of my favorite paranormal series, because there are new and different creatures present.
As always, your e-card made me laugh, and it also had me wanting to take my bra off 😉
Have a great week ahead and happy reading.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I am starting now, it has been on wishlist and I couldn’t pass up the chance to read them when offered. LOL, that meme made me gigglesnort and its true. First thing I do when I get home is let the girls out..bwahaha.

  6. Grace

My husband was gone a couple of night this week and I missed him but it was nice to just be able to do whatever I wanted (after the kids went to bed anyways. Great job in May!! That is a lot of books. Looks like you got a bunch of good ones this week – Enjoy!

I still have a house full, but normally my nights involve him, and things we do together so it will be nice to read without sports in the background. Thanks Grace!

Yay for having a cushion and for a book orgy! As for the Random Thought, feel free to remove your bra and search for chocolate (it’s really not hard to find), but the making coffee part will be a bit tougher. While I have a coffee maker (from when my parents were still mobile enough to visit) I don’t have coffee anymore. Better bring some with you. 🙂

Hi Kimberly, My family has been away for 3 weeks and I have read so many books for future posts at the end of this moth and July! It is so much easier to read when everyone is away. Next week I go to CA to visit family and I won’t be reading at all! Have a great week.

My husband never leaves the house only to go to work other wise he’s ALWAYS HERE and likes to talk to me the most when I am reading. I really need to find him a job that will get him to travel once in a while 😉

Great Job on the Cushion! I need something because I seem to be falling way behind just have no time 🙁 but I am trying 🙂

Bwahaha. My hubby rarely travels but when he does I indulge. When my kids where younger they joined Indian Guides a father son, father daughter club. Once a month they went camping..it was wonderful having the entire house to myself.

  14. Kathy

You did great last month! I’m listening to audiobooks and also reading ebooks/paperbacks so my total for the month is slowly increasing. Maybe someday I’ll be like you lol.

We love our husbands but it is great when we have time for ourselves. My husband doesn’t go away for work but since he is an auto mechanic he is always helping people out on the weekends. So that’s when I get my free time.

I hope you enjoy your time alone and have a great week!

  16. Kelsey

Ooh have a great week reading! I’m home alone during the days and I can tell you I get a lot of reading in, so enjoy your week alone.
I haven’t been doing well with the fitreader thing, I just keep getting unmotivated and the constant job hunting doesn’t help with that. I’m going to try better this week though! Enjoy your new books too 🙂

I use to have time alone during the day..but now Sophia fills them. (my granddaughter) which isn’t a bad thing. I am looking forward to having my nights to myself

  17. Rita

Hope you and hubby get over your colds soon! You’ve had a run of bad luck with illnesses lately, so all the best! A cup of hot coffee, a pastry and a book prescribed for you today!
I read The Ice Twins- a good read for me, Black-Eyed Susans- a great read for me, and just received Swerve also. Some of your other titles I will go check out further.
Keep healthy, keep happy, and keep on reading 🙂

Good morning Kimberly. I still stand amazed at the number of reviews you can post each and every week. I still find it challenging to write the review, and then again I don’t read as many books each week.

Also — thank you so much for the “Around the Blogosphere” links. I just don’t have time to read the many book/reading blogs, even those that I officially follow. So your feature brings my attention to posts that i would have missed and which I have found to be valuable.

I hope you enjoy the time to have things entirely your way. I’m the one who is often away from home and I can’t imagine having the house all to myself. I’m sure I’d wallow in bed with books, and eat out so I didn’t waste any reading time with meal prep.

You can bet all of the meals will be easy without a lot of dishes. I work from home, so I cook dinner seven nights a week. This week..tuna sandwiches, breakfast for dinner, salad etc. Glad you enjoy the AtB feature. I am reading less then previous years on account of the baby but slowly getting back to my routine. i am hoping this week to read a book a day.

  19. Lark

You really cleaned up on the Clean Sweep challenge! And I had to laugh over your plans for while your husband is gone. “…have a book orgy, drink ungodly amounts of coffee and eat all of the foods he hates” LOL! I do the first and third when my husband is on travel, but I drink tea instead of coffee. 🙂

Enjoy your new books! I have the Mary Behre novella on preorder and can’t wait to read it. Did you know she’s practically a neighbor of mine? I only discovered that when she did an event at my local library. She’s a great person. Let me know if you ever want me to ask her to sign a book for you!

That is so cool she is a neighbor (well almost) Yes I plan to read till the wee hours, and keep the tv on all night and eat breakfast for dinner.

  20. Ann Noser

oh, oh, Queen of Tomorrow and Black Eyed Susans–both look super good! Looking forward to your reviews. 🙂

  21. Ramona

Oh, home alone with books and coffee – what could be better? 😀 I just finished Snow like Ashes and I can’t wait to hear about the second one, which you got this week. How long will you make us wait for the review??? Try not to be too cruel 🙂 Wishing you an awesome new week, Kimba! Hugs <3

Ah, the publisher prefers we post around release date. However once I read it I will let you know if I loved it. Psst..it is on Edelweiss

  22. Kristin T.

My husband will be out three nights this week, which means I get to eat what I want, too, for dinner! And I get to read during dinner – score!!! Hope you’re feeling better. My allergies are still going crazy – hoping they subside soon – I’m tired of sneezing and having a scratchy throat all morning until my allergy meds kick in.

  23. Christina T

Wow that Chris Bohjalian book sounds interesting and different from the other books of his that I’ve read. Admittedly I’ve only read The Buffalo Soldier and The Light in the Ruins so far.

Great job with your challenge and reading so many books! I have a spreadsheet of my review books but it seems to just grow and I always feel behind.

  24. Teddyree

I loved Slave to Sensation, love the series but I’m behind, like book 4 or 5. Hope you love it too! My hubby is a FIFO worker, it’s hard but it also has its perks, like eating whatever you want, when you want and bingeing on tv shows and books … have fun 😉

I am excited that the pubs are giving me the opportunity to review from the beginning. My hubby rarely goes away and its nice not have a set schedule.

  25. Berls

I’m a bit of a blogging mess lately and kinda craped out on the clean sweep 🙁 I did however read mainly review books in May, just not as many as I would have liked. Enjoy your week alone – I’d be eating foods my BF doesn’t like too. Especially pizza (can you believe he doesn’t like pizza?!) What will you be eating?

My husband is a meat and potato kind of guy. He likes meals with meat, starch and veggie each night or homemade meatballs and pasta. Which is fine, I usually load up more on the veggies but I love fish, and salads and tacos. He isn’t a fan of Chinese food, Mexican etc. Nothing I do this weekend will require tons of pots and pans ..lol In fact tonight I am having tuna and salad.

  26. ShootingStarsMag

I hope you have a nice husband-free week and read lots of great books. That’s awesome you have June pretty much covered. I have a lot I need to schedule still, so hopefully I can do that in the next couple days and then I won’t have to worry as much.

I am excited that I’ve built back up my scheduled posts. I am working on July now, but of course I had to squeeze in some last minute June reads..LOL

  27. Hannah

I don’t know what’s better, the uninterrupted reading or eating all the foods your husband hates but I do hope that you enjoy both! =]

  28. Melanie (YA Midnight Reads)

I hope you enjoy Ice Like Fire! I wasn’t a fan of the first book so I won’t be continuing – but the gorgeous covers are making me want to buy them anyway just so they can look gorgeous on my shelves xD

  29. Benish

I think this weather is making everyone sick, I hope you feel much better soon. I spy The Ice Twins, I’m glad it reached your safely 🙂 I look forward to reading your posts soon especially Test Me Tuesday!

Yes too reading and eating all the good food! I didn’t join any challenges, but I guess everyone’s spring tbr pile cleaning rubbed off on me because I have my Edelweiss and Netgalley ARCs down to next month and later pub dates, and I have started in on some of my Kindle deal books. I don’t know how long it will last though. Thanks for the pep talk on my blog! Have a fab week. 😀

I listened to Slave to Sensation a few months ago and loved it-I really need to read the next one, I can totally relate to having the house to myself and doing anything I want to do, food wise AND TV remote wise 🙂 Enjoy your week!
