Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

My oldest daughter’s surgery went well. Lab results delivered good news. Hopefully she can put this behind her. It was my first week with Sophia as my youngest returned to work after maternity leave. We are settling into a nice routine. She is 3 months today! I cannot get over how quickly she changes. It was a tough week for her Momma, but things are going well. On Friday, the Clean Sweep ARC Challenge begins here @ Caffeinated. I hope you signed up to join the fun. As for me I plan to kick some serious ARC-butt. I am currently eleven books behind on my yearly reading goal! Stay Caffeinated and do something nice for someone this week..for absolutely no reasons.

FitReader Updates

FitReaders 2015The sun came out a few days this week and I managed to walk. We took Sophia out in her stroller and I am looking forward to doing it daily. On average I  managed about 3,000-4,000 steps and want to push for 5,000 to 7,000. Since my fit tracker is on my phone..I suspect that my numbers are higher since I don’t carry it with me everywhere.

Thanks was a crazy week for both of my girls.

    • kimbacaffeinate was a busy week for all three of them 🙂

  1. Katherine

Oh what fun that you’re getting to spend so much time with Sophia. I’m sure her mother is missing her like crazy but hopefully she’s getting plenty of rest and will be up and on her feet soon! Nothing like a baby to slow down your reading though! Have a great week and good luck with the Clean Sweep Challenge!

We managed a nice schedule. I worked and read when she napped and of course her parents get home from work at 5:30 and I have the evenings to blog and read.

    • kimbacaffeinate

She husband and I just love spending time with her

  2. Elizabeth

So glad your daughter’s procedure went well and there was good news. Having cancer for 12 years, I know the feeling of uncertainty after procedures and tests, but I got good news this week also.
I reviewed The Alchemist’s Daughter this week also. I liked it.

Glad your daughter’s surgery went well and you had a good week with Sophia. I also really really like that meme (and am stealing it) about being fascinated by weird shit!

  6. Tressa

I’m glad everything went okay with your daughter and fun for you to have your granddaughter with you regularly. 3 months!! Crazy how time flies. My youngest will be four in a month and she’s such a fun age. Yay for Cold Burn of Magic! That one is high on my list, so I hope we both love it! I signed up for the Arc Sweep. I really need it too. Have a great week!

I couldn’t resist getting Cold Burn of I just need to squeeze it in for May. Awe 4 us a fun age. Yes I am glad I am able to watch her while her Mommy and Daddy work. They say it takes a village to raise a child and we are all in 🙂

  7. Jenny

Undertow is on my list of books I need to read soon. Hope you have a great next week!

  8. Lexxie

I’m glad your daughter’s surgery went well, Kim. And it’s good that you were able to help out and spend the week with Sofia, so that she didn’t have to worry about that at all.

You have a very nice haul this week, both Dissident and Once Pure look excellent.

I hope your daughter will continue to heal fast, so I’m sending good vibes to her and your family so things will be as easy as possible.

Have a great week ahead and happy reading 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Enjoy your break my friend. I shall be busy playing catch up on my reading 🙂

I don’t usually go for books like that, but wanted to try something different. Thanks Megan!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Nyze. Yes she is growing fast and so determined to do things now. LOL

  12. Holly

Wonderful, positive news about your daughter’s surgery!! As for being behind in books – it’s too funny you mentioned being behind, though I’m quite certain you will certainly make up for it by the end of the year…but I too mentioned looking forward to summer time (no school for kids) because I am 6 books behind and I need some down time to read, read, read! I am signed up for the May challenge and hope it’ll get me motivated to read through some ARC’s even as busy as we are right now. Enjoy your week!

Granted, I just need to read book 7 to be ready for 8 next month, but it feels very slacking like to me! LOL. But I just added more review books to the stacks, so it will still be awhile before I can read 7th Grave.

Hope you enjoy all your new reads!

Good to hear the surgery went well! I hope she has a speedy recovery. I can’t believe Sophia is 3 months old already. I saw your picture of her sitting and she’s growing so fast! I bet she is a handful and fun distraction. But you’ll get into a routine soon. I can’t wait for the ARC challenge. I’m making my list & I’m curious to see what Xoxperts books we have to read. 22. Karen Blue

Glad to hear things went well for your daughter. It is nice you get to spend so much time with your granddaughter. I almost miss babies, almost. By the time I get grandkids I will be really ready for them…I hope that is at least a decade away. I have a fit tracker on my phone, too. Grandbabies are so different and I only had a short break from an empty nest to grandbaby..but we are enjoying every minute. I think it is because as parents we know how quickly these moments go by.

  23. Angela

That is wonderful news about your daughter. Kids are so much fun and so much work, but you know this. Grandkids are so different though. You get to do so much spoiling and pay your children back for a little on some of the things they put you through. We had grandparents in town this last week for a visit and our son just loves it when they come. Family is just wonderful! Great book haul this last week. I need to try out Jennifer Estep. I’ve seen several bloggers enjoy her books as well as Darynda Jones. So many books, so little time! ^_^ Have a wonderful week.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Oh you so need to read Jones..I adore her. Family is wonderful and I am glad you were able to spend time with yours. Enjoy your week Angela!

  24. Rita

I am sorry about your daughter needing hospitalization but hopefully she will be on a smooth road to recovery now! Glad you got to bond further with Princess Sophia (love that name, Sophia, was in the running for being chosen for my youngest g-kid).

I’ve read the first two installments in the Suzanne Johnson PN series in NOLA. I am very picky about my UF series (I read P. Briggs and S. Johnson and very few else so far).

As you know I’m ready to read Her Sister’s Shoes tomorrow after I finish Memory Man (loving that one). Then I will be reading Saving Ben, also within the coming month. I do look forward to getting to know Ashley Farley’s style 🙂
Have a great week and hope the weather cooperates to allow walks with the stroller. Enjoy!

I need to deal with mine too Sophia. You don’t have to post reviews on your blog, you only need to write a one or two line review on Goodreads. I am hoping to knock out quite a few and build my base back up.

  30. Lindy

I am so happy that your daughter is doing well and her test results came out good! My mom has been having tests done, and the Dr. discovered she has Hoshimoto’s disease. Noe they are testing for Cancer in her Tyroid. It’s always a relief when loved one’s are doing well. Health issues are so scary. Have fun with your grandbaby! 3 months is such a cute age.

  31. Nise'

So glad the surgery went well! Going back to work is always emotional, it took my daughter about a month to adjust. Cole loves his daycare lady and that helps her tremendously. I would love to have him full time, but I still work. Can’t wait for Eight Grave! Have a great week.

    • kimbacaffeinate

It has been hard on her, and now she has a stomach virus..probably brought on by the stress.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Yes..the cuteness gets me. Um, my house has seen cleaner days..we haven’t quite figured out how to do it all. How did I do it with 3 little ones? I think I worry more because she isn’t mine..or it could be I know the house can be cleaned tomorrow but tomorrow she could be going off to school.
