Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

My body is so confused. One minute it is warm and wonderful the next it is freezing. I don’t have any idea how to I finally listened to Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews and loved it, thanks to those who recommended it. This week Sophia will be two months old, I can hardly believe it. I have come to terms with the fact that I will not be able to maintain my reading/review schedule and spend the time I want with her. It isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as you will see more discussion posts and fun bookish things. Stay caffeinated, make someone smile and do a little something special just for you.

I do too, and will look forward to seeing what you think

  1. Katherine

I like your compromise. You get more time with your granddaughter and we get fun discussion posts. Plus you don’t tempt me quite as often to add books to my already ridiculous TBR. It’s a win/win! Have a great week!

I love discussion posts but have read so darn much there wasn’t room on the schedule…this should balance things.

  2. Christy

I would totally ditch blogging to spend more time with Sophia too, and she’s not even mine. lol. Damn though, she’s already 2 months? I want to read The Martian bad. I listened to the audiobook sample and was bored, so I think I need to read the book.

LOL, I never get bored when men read to me. As for Sophia..she is a time sucker. When she is here my husband and I just drop everything and play with her. I think as parents ourselves we realize how quickly they change and want to enjoy each precious smile. Yesterday I sang to her and she tried singing back it was adorable.

  3. Michelle

Oooh! I’m so excited to see what you think of The Martian when you get around it! One of my favorites this year. I hope you enjoy your week and your time with little Shophia

That random sommeecard cracked me up. It took me a second to follow it. Lol! I’m going to check out your review for Brenda Novak’s newest. I get you on the weather. It got rather warm, then cold, then warm again and I’m just in AZ. I hope you have a great week!

That’s just what I was saying on my blog, I’d like the weather to make up its mind ! We all love discussion posts and bookish fun, enjoy the company of the lovely Sophia. Wait until she starts wandering in the house and you’ll have to put every potential danger out of her reach – those are fun days :p I see you got The Martian, I do hope you’ll enjoy it too ! Have a great sunday and give Sophia a kiss for me 🙂

Wow! It’s amazing how quickly little ones grow, so it’s wonderful that you have time to spend with your granddaughter. Love the idea of discussion posts because it’s a great way to meet new friends. Glad you were able to get in a little listen book wise, and hope your week is as fab as you. Hugs…

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Ro. BG (before granddaughter) I would read 3-4 hours a day) now AG I am getting 1-2 but so worth it before I know it she will be off to kindergarten.

    • kimbacaffeinate

It does, that is why it is important to stop and enjoy the little things 🙂

  9. Tanja

I’m with you Kim. One day I’m going out in short sleeves and the next I must wear jacked. I hope that this weather will come to its senses. Anyhow you’ve got some interesting books and I hope you’ll enjoy it. Great post 🙂

  13. Lola

it’s the same here, one day it’s pretty warm and then the next day I am freezing and pull on my sweather again. I hate weather like that as it’s hard to decide what to wear. And wow I can’t believe Sophia is already 2 months. I am looking forward for the different types of posts you have planned for the blog!

LOL I am not reading nearly enough. Keep in mind the books up on the blog this week were read back in February. I am usually done with the next month by now (April) and working on May..but as of today I still have 7 books to read for April and none read for May…yep she was a game changer 🙂

      • Sarah

Oh I see.. hmm, perhaps you’ll have to arrange your schedule to make up for reading or think about adding a guest reviewer? I bet she’s totally worth the schedule juggling, though :p

If I scale back to 4-5 reviews a week instead of 5-6 I think it will work. If not yes guest bloggers would be an option.

  19. Lark

Crazy weather, isn’t it? I’ll bet Sophia is just beautiful – of course you want to spend time with her! Family comes first, always!

I’m totally failing the TBR Pile challenge (for a variety of reasons, including family time), but I’ll be signing on for the Clean Sweep challenge. Maybe it will go better…

    • kimbacaffeinate

Bwahaha..yes me too that is how I wound up one-clicking the audio.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I agree Lorna..although it is like one of my babies too me. However I can still enjoy both..I just need to post more non-book review posts.

  20. A Voracious Reader

I’m back baby! And it feels so goooooood!! 😀 I’m still under a fair amount of stress though, so I’m going to take my time getting caught up. But I am so enjoying being back at my own desk with my own stuff. 🙂

I picked up The Martian ebook when it was either on sale or free. Can’t remember which. Looking forward to reading it though I have no idea when that will be. lol The weather here has been fairly nice. Spring peepers are peeping and the dogwoods are blooming. Enjoy your time with Princess Sophia. There will be plenty of time to read when she starts school. 😀

That’s wonderful you finally listened to Clean Sweep. I loved it! I love the Andrews team, so I might be a little FAN ish about there books. Have a great time with your granddaughter Sophie. Kids are just so much fun and they grow so fast. When my son was born my reading went down. I use to be able to read a book a day, not so much anymore. ^_^
Happy reading and have a great week.

We had 4 inches of snow, thankfully it’s gone now but SNOW…On the first day of spring??? Get it together Mother Nature!!!

I am excited about Clean Sweep since I failed horribly on March TBR 🙂

Have a great week! and enjoy that baby, they get so big way to fast!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Oh it seems like so many of you got hit with snow. We were lucky and today it is going up to 72. Hey you have a week left to read at least one more book from your TBR can do it.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I am not going anywhere, you just might not see 6 reviews a week from me…instead there will be more discussion and feature posts weaved in.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I do that all the time Michelle. Have a great week

  24. Lupdilup

Life is short Kimba, and we must enjoy every moment we can with those we love. I imagine how wonderful it must be too spend time with one’s grandkids, a pleasure I might never get to experience since I had my only daughter when I was almost 40, and my daily mantra to my daughter is never get married until you’re a least 30 and don’t have any kids until she’s a least 32..LOL so I pretty much preach against my chances of ever enjoying my grandkids…lol

    • kimbacaffeinate

LOL. I got married at 21 and was done having my children by the time I was 28. And don’t worry…kids do the opposite of what we preach.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I begin watching her four days a week towards the end of April, and right now we see her a couple times a week. She is adorable, but my hubby calls her the time-sucker because as soon as she walks in the door we drop everything to play with her.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Right! So many awesome reviews. I am excited to start it

    • kimbacaffeinate

Exactly Kate! We are going away on vacation and I just know she is going to change while we are away.

  25. Bookworm Brandee

*haha* I’m having the same problem here with the weather! I can’t believe that grandbaby is already 2 months old! I’m glad you are going to give up some review time for her – you know she’ll grow up way too fast. 🙂 You have to cherish every moment you can. I’m looking forward to your review/product review of I Love You Through and Through. Hope you’re having a great week!
