Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

While setting the clocks ahead one hour signifies we are one step closer to flip-flop season losing that hour of sleep is not at all appreciated. Grr. It will take me a good week to adjust. The hubby and I are planning a little vacation to celebrate our 27th anniversary and wrapping a visit with my parents and brother into it. We will be heading to New Orleans at the end of the month, then driving down to Orlando (hoping to visit Hogwarts at Universal Studios) and Ft. I might just get to wear those flip-flops a little earlier. I am excited about NO, I love the city and always grab books with settings it will be nice to finally visit. Going to pick up a gris-gris bag, look for some vampires and other paranormal creatures. We are staying in one of the older hotels in the French Quarter. It looks lovely with it’s own balcony and private bath recommended by author Suzanne Johnson.

I’m so unexcited about the whole spring forward business. I’m dragging as it is lately! 1 less hour of sleep is not going to help! Your trip sounds so much fun! New Orleans is one of my favorite cities and I’m really looking forward to heading back to Orlando soon. Have a great week!

Thanks Katherine. I have the baby spending the I am sure the whole missing hour won’t mean a thing to me. Walking zombie 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

I am really excited Bea, and will take lots of pictures.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I hope it is cool. My kids (adult) are all like what do you mean you are going to Hogwarts..LOL

  2. Laurel-Rain Snow

Enjoy your new books! I am curious about Younger…I know there will be a new show by that name on ABC Family.

And yes, springing forward is my least favorite time change, too. I have been sleeping a lot this weekend, so maybe my body is trying to prepare me.

It is one and the same Laurel..i guess based on this book 🙂

  3. Michelle

I’m not happy about the time change but a weather change will be nice, I am longing for spring. Enjoy your trip I have always wanted to go to New Orleans, maybe one day I will but we are planning Florida in Aug, I already told my family I will see Harry Potter with our without them 😉

Have a great week, Kim! Enjoy all your new reads! 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Enjoy Florida. We lived there for 7 years and loved it. It will be good to see my folks and brother. He has two sons I have yet to meet who are 4 and 2. I plan to bring half of Toys R Us with me, and books…lots of books for them.

  4. Whitney

I’m usually ready for Spring Forward as by this time I’m sick of it getting dark at 4 in the afternoon, although I’m none too pleased about the missed hour of sleep either.

Your trip sounds fantastic, New Orleans is such a fun town, I hope you enjoy it and Orlando.

    Have a wonderful week!

Thanks Whitney, I am excited. I agree I like that it stays lighter longer..but so miss that hour of sleep 🙂

  5. Christy

I don’t get the big deal about the time change. I hate that the time changes, period, but I don’t ever feel any different from an hour. Oh, what a fun trip!! I want to go.

It takes me a while to adjust to losing that hour too. At least I don’t have little ones in school anymore. That was always a nightmare. LOL Try to fit in a haunted tour while in Louisiana.
You’ll be passing right by me to go from N’leans to Orlando. Have fun at Hogwart’s. I want to go there some day!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Agreed bedtime was the worst adjustment when my kids were small. Haunted Tour on my list 🙂

  7. Michelle

Lol, I’ve never had problems with the time changes. It all feels basically the same to me…then again I don’t ever get jet lag and feel more awake with three hours of sleep than I do with a full 6-8 hours. I’m super jealous of your vacation! I’ve always wanted to go to NO and see the French Quarter. And Wizarding World is absolutely fantastic!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I am really excited about the trip. I guess because I only sleep 5-6 hours a night I feel it.

  8. Cynthia

Great wrap up! Love the spring forward pic. So true. Of course, I am in Italy and our time doesn’t change until March 29. So I still have some time until the hour will be pried out of my hands. 🙂

How fun to go to NO and that hotel does sound lovely. 🙂 My computer issues came back after the computer guy cleaned up my system. 🙁 You liking Windows 8 gives me hope that I’ll be good with it. I’ll be getting a new computer soon. I totally lol when I read your topic for Top Ten Signs Your TBR Pile Is Too Big..( Caffeinated Confessions) because that is definitely me. Big time. I keep trying to curtail it and I do better or think I do and then I look at what I’ve grabbed to review and it’s crazy. I need to start being a better judge of books and know when to pass up on some that I won’t love or don’t need to grab. I’ll definitely be checking out what you have to say. Have a great week!

We heard the wild geese coming back this week, this means spring is on the way : the nights are still cold, but the days are definitely warmer. I have read some books that took place in New Orleans or close to it, the first that comes to mind is Taste the Heat by Rachel Harris. Have fun planning your vacation! I always think that planning a vacation is half of the fun!

And oohhh that sounds like a GREAT vacation! NOLA and Hogwarts?! Hells ya! Our Florida trip is going to happen next year, we’re planning to go then so we can check out the Frozen ride! Otherwise it would’ve been this year at some point! But I am DYING to go the WWoHP! Or as I call it Harry Potter World! LOL! It’s likely my sister and I will do that while my mom watches my niece, likely taking her back to Disney or something else as she wasn’t a fan of the books or movies. *GASP* But yes, dying to go there!

I guess it works better next year for more than one reason. Hopefully I will find a job soon so I can save up some money for all the souvenirs I will NEED to buy! LOL!

Good morning. Welcome to “Summer Time” as our British friends call it. I think my adjustment this year will be fairly easy since I’m a bit akilter after spending two weeks on Pacific time before returning to my home in the Central zone.

Enjoy New Orleans — and Florida as well. Late March should be a very good time to visit. I’m heading out on a mini-vacation today. We’re driving over to the Big Bend area of Texas.
