Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Let’s hope March roars quickly before turning into a lamb. Brrr.  For the month of February, I read/listened to 17 books. My numbers are down and I blame my daughter and Sophia. She turned a month old this week. Where does the time go? It is wonderful seeing the daily changes in her. She smiles and coos and makes my heart melt. Things are changing for me and in a good way. My VA business is booming and I will be quitting my day job to take care of Sophia in April when her Mommy goes back to work. This should be a challenging and exciting transition. Today begins Take Control of Your TBR Pile and I hope you are joining us 🙂 I am also hosting a TBR read-a-thon and anyone can join. Stay Caffeinated, share the love by uplifting fellow bloggers and smile at the little things!

Enjoy your new books…and baby Sophia! They do grow so fast, and before you know it, they’re eighteen! Yes, my two granddaughters just turned eighteen in February.

You will have so much fun taking care of her while her mommy works.

    Happy reading and playing!

How awesome that you’ll be taking care of Sophia! I know your daughter must be so thrilled. Great books this week! I’m with you in hoping the lion roars quickly and we get to move onto the lamb. I’m so tired of being cold!

  3. Sarah

Wow, a whole Month! They grow so fast <3 it's so crazy and awesome! 17 books is wonderful, congrats! I must get the white trash zombie book. I know it came out awhile ago but honestly it didn't inerest me until Christy reviewed how awesome it was! Good luck in March bookish endeavors. I'm excited for TBR!

    • kimbacaffeinate

It has been on my wish list forever but her audio review pushed me. Thanks and good luck with the challenge

    • kimbacaffeinate

I know, it happens fast. I keep telling my daughter to savor every moment because it seems like you wink and they are married and mothers before you know it. I am excited about White Trash has been on my wishlist 4-ever.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Hey this Nonna is cool and of course she adores me. Did you start Written in Red? *arches brow*

Congrats on your changes, and glad business is booming. It’s been so cold here, definitely ready for warmups. But we have snow and cold in the forecast too. stay warm and kep reading!

I’m so happy to hear that your VA stuff is working out! I loved doing stuff like that, can’t wait for this year to go by so I can try to find another publicity job (contract woes…). And it’s even better that you’ll be able to spend so much time with Sophia! I hope you have an awesome week Kimba.

  7. Red Iza

Of course you wouldn’t read as much with a delightful little baby around you 🙂 Today, I opened my windows… and left them open ! Spring is coming, the sun isn’t here, but the temperatures are definitely warmer. I see you got White trash zombie, I’m still on Diana Rowland’s Kara Gillian series but when I’ve read the next instalment, I’ll move on to the zombies too. No changing the menu because of a book, but I have had a craving for lemon pies for a few days, I thought maybe Jessica Lemmon’s latest book was the cause of it, lol ! Have a great weekend, flip-flops will be needed soon 😉

Ooo I read like the first 4 or 5 books of the Kara Gillian series and stopped..I should go back and see what I have missed. Ha…yeah when I read Lemmon’s book I thought of lemon pie too so I think you are right.

    • kimbacaffeinate

So true Nyze, I think because our kids are all grown the hubby and I realize this and completely slow down whenever she is around. I can just see my hubby’s blood-pressure drop when he holds the baby.

  8. Celine

Sounds like you have a lot of great things going on (: I got a review copy for the new Jenn Bennett book as well, and I can’t wait to read it! Have a lovely Sunday

My daughter has to work and we knew how nervous the prospect of leaving the baby in a stranger’s care was to her, not to mention the cost. I feel blessed they were are able to make changes to help them.

  9. A Voracious Reader

Sophia is 1 month and Kyleigh is 1 year. Time flies by so fast! On the other hand, February was very crappy for me, so I’m glad to shoo it on. We have freezing rain happening right now, but it’s supposed to transition to regular ol’ rain later today and be 70º! on Weds?! Wut?! March…gotta love it.

      • A Voracious Reader

Yep. The element came in Tues (Amazon really does have everything!), but hubby worked until 9-ish or so. We fixed it Weds in like 8 minutes. lol Btw, I’m not touching anything this month. I’m going to wear boxing gloves. 😀

Congrats on your business, so glad it is doing good. I think it is wonderful that you will be watching your new little princesses for your daughter. My mom did that for me with my kids and I hope to do the same for them. It’s hard to find caregivers for our children that will love them as much as we love them. My kids are so close to my mom and I couldn’t ask for a better person to watch them since I knew they would be loved 100%. I’m sure your daughter feels and will feel the same way, Plus it’s a great chance for you to spoil that little girl 🙂

17 books is fantastic! I wish I could read that many in a month.
Have a great week Kim! Happy Reading ox

I was very close to my grandmother and hope Sophia and I have the same bond. I am so happy I am able to give my daughter that piece of mind.

  20. Reanna

17 books for the month is down?? I WISH I could pull off 17 a month, especially in the shortest month of the year LOL! I agree with you about the weather – I’m so over winter. And woohoo! It’s Take Control time 🙂

You got some great books again. I’ve heard good things about the White Trash Zombie series, but haven’t read it yet. Also, I’m dying to get my hands on A Shattered Moment. I love Tiffany King’s writing! Hope you enjoy all your new reads, Kimba. Have a great week <3

Lots of love and hugs 🙂 Glad to hear your business is booming – although I have to say That I never doubted 🙂 Ah, again with your insane numbers of book read (and in just 3h/day!!!!) Truth be told I prefer just coffee for breakfast, and thought I would try fiber bars to keep my energy up and hunger..but they wreaked havoc on my stomach. I love PR work and in the past it was 90% of what my job entailed. Why not bring that passion to my number one addiction books. The granddaughter was the push I needed to fulfill my own dream.

  22. Stormi

I don’t have a sweet baby to blame on why I did so bad with reading in Feb. Did it not just fly right on by?? Crazy, I was like well crap it’s over and I just didn’t get much read or listened I bet that baby is way more fun to play with that reading anyway..hehehe. 🙂

  23. Kathy

Sophia is a good excuse for the low numbers. They grow up so fast and you don’t want to miss a minute of it. You did great with your steps and I can’t stand fiber bars! Breakfast is the hardest time for me to fight off the temptations. It’s so easy to grab a doughnut instead of looking for something healthier. I hope March is a little warmer for you!
