On Monday morning, on her due date, Sophia Marie decided it was time to meet the world. Being a part of my daughter and son-in-law’s most precious moment was incredibly beautiful. I am so proud of my daughter and words cannot begin to describe the love we feel for our granddaughter. You may have noticed I was absent from blogging this past week, I made time for my daughter and son-in-law, helping any way they needed me. I appreciate all the warm wishes and your unwavering support of Caffeinated. Ya all rock my world. I will be back to commenting and visiting today. I read/listened to 29 books for the month of January. Stay caffeinated and make the most of every moment.

Karen she is already trying to hold her head up and turns her head when someone speaks and tries to focus on them. I am totally biased but think she is beautiful.

Right. Although I promise not to be one of those Nonna’s who sugars them up and sends them home, or shows up at bedtime to wind them

  8. Holly

Aw, I love, love, love the pictures! Congratulations Nonna! 🙂 Both of my parents were there for the birth of my oldest and it is a special memory for all of us. They didn’t quite make it in time for my youngest – she came super quick. But I’m so glad for you that they asked you to be a part of her birth. I do believe it will give you an even more special connection with her. Enjoy those sweet baby snuggles!

Congrats on your granddaughter and I can understand why you didn’t do any blogging and spend time with your family instead.
And wow you read/listened to a lot of books this month! I only managed to read 5 books in January, but that’s still pretty nice for me.

Congratulations! That’s amazing, and I’ve been enjoying the pictures you’ve been sharing on FB. I’m glad you took some time off to spend with them and help them out. I remember being a first time mom and I didn’t have my mom. I did have my MIL but it wasn’t the same. Having mom there would have made things so much nicer.
I hope you have a wonderful week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Yes, it has been so nice for both my hubby and I too be there. They have spent a lot of time here and we have helped them with many firsts. They bring us such joy.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Lanie..I am thinking she needs to be a dragon for Halloween

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Kay, we are so happy. The kids have been here all day, so I keep bouncing on and off the blog.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Right. I thought maybe I was biased but she is so adorable.

  16. Elsi

Congratulations on the safe arrival of Ms. Sophia Marie. Grandchildren are such a blessing. She’s adorable.

29 books? In a single month? Wow! I know that I’ve never completed that many books in one month. I’m aiming at an average of 17 per month in 2015, but I’m counting on a number of mid-grade books helping me out by being a bit shorter and easier to read.

    Aww, she’s beautiful! Congrats, Nonna!!
I’m hoping to start Jackson’s Closer to You series soon. Hope you enjoy all the books, but I know they won’t be near as special as the grandbaby!

Thanks Kristin 🙂 it is all so wonderful. I hope your week is amazing and that it isn’t too cold in your neck of the woods.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Valeria, yep I think this smile on my face is permanent.

  18. Christine

Congratulations! Sophia is just precious 🙂 That is wonderful that you are able to help your daughter and her family out during this special time. I asked my mom months ago to come stay with us for a bit when our son is born — I am under no delusion that I will not appreciate the help! (There is a funny story in my family about how my parents thought they wouldn’t need the help right away, but then changed their mind very quickly when I arrived on the scene — almost 30 years later, I’m learning a lesson from that!)

    • kimbacaffeinate

I hope she is able to come, the kids have been here every day or we have been there, and I am handling phone calls. They are doing fantastic, but I love that I am able to reassure them.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I feel like a queen She is just too precious and we are all walking around glowing.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thank you Michelle, they are both wonderful. I am excited about Novice ..enjoy!

  19. Adriana

She’s is so beautiful! I love that little nose of hers. It’s funny – there’s a lot of middle names in my family that are Marie.
I’m so impressed by the amount you read//listened this past month. I’ve been able to read a lot and it’s been wonderful.

I was still looking for word of the baby and lo and behold, I looked at the list of past posts and Sophia was was announced on this Sunday Post!! What a beauty… and your daughter looks very calm and put together for someone who just went through a birth. I understand your immediate feelings for the baby; the only time I approve of “insta-love”! Congrats from a Nana to a Nonna 🙂
