In 2014 I read/listened to 289 books. I am really excited about the year ahead and have a little news to share. In 2015 I will become a Nonna for the first time!! We expect our new granddaughter to make an appearance later this month or early in February. My hubby and I are over the moon excited. Watching my daughter experience all the firsts has brought back some amazing memories. In book news, I picked up my first Sarah Fine and Richelle Mead books! I went with the audio versions and I’m currently listening to Marked. I am back and feeling refreshed after my bloggy break. Thank you to everyone who visited. I read and appreciated each and every comment. Take Control is back..link-up and prepare to Take Control of your TBR pile!! Have a great week and for goodness sake stay caffeinated!

Congratulation on your lovely granddaughter, that is so exciting!
I’ve read Sarah Fine’s Of Metal & Wishes and really enjoyed it, can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Marked! Happy New Year, Kim!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Of Metals and Wishes is on my wish list Cyn. So far I am enjoying Marked. We are excited and my daughter is counting down the days…lol

  2. Bea

Oh, first baby pic! She’ll be here soon. Are you ready, Nana?

Look at all those freebies. Are you trying to claim the title of the Queen of the Freebies? 😀

    Happy New Year!

Yes this Nonna is nesting. I bought all kinds of goodies for my house. Yes..not blogging all week had me one-clicking my little heart out!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Katherine, it was nice to step away and yes it is exciting

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Laurel, I am excited to experience it. I am excites about Crazy Love You..it sounds like a great thriller.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Right? Nothing like my babies ultrasounds. They actually let the kids watch her for 15 mins. They saw her yawn, stretch, make facial expressions and they could see she has a whole head of hair floating around her head!

  3. La La in the Library

Oh my, I am so happy to meet another book blogger who is old enough to be a grandmother! I don’t have any yet, but I am happily looking forward to them. I have both Red Rising and Golden Son ffrom Netgalley aind am really looking foward to reading them because everyone has been raving about them. I won the first two books that come before In the After Light, so I am looking forward to reading that trilogy, too. This is my first time posting a Sunday Post. Thank you for this feature!

Reading/listening to 289 books is such an accomplishment! 🙂 Congratulations on the new granddaughter, that’s so exciting. I hope you enjoy Marked.I’m interested in reading Sarah Fine’s Of Metal and Wishes duology sometime.

Oh my gosh, I purchased my first Richelle Mead books this week! I bought Vampire Academy (#1) and Bloodlines (#1). 🙂 I also purchased Red Rising earlier this week, I’m glad to hear you highly recommend it.

Yes! so glad you got Red Rising. I want to read/listen to Of Metal and Wishes as well. Marked is going well so far..the set up is interesting. I am counting down the days until I get to hold her. My daughter has asked me to be in the birthing room..it will be quite the experience I am sure.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Kathryn, and I am glad you commented. The ultrasound is cool and agree the details are astonishing.

    • kimbacaffeinate

LOL…yeah I will be messing that up for a while. Thanks Greg 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Agreed Karen. My daughter is very ready..lol. She asked me to be in the delivery room and I am rather excited to experience it.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Gah Melanie..I have 6 trilogies unfinished because I am so afraid to read the last dang book. I am just going to have to hope I like it.

    • kimbacaffeinate

It is 🙂 I had two in February and one in July. I am thinking since it is her first it might be a February baby..although she is ready now..lol

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Grace and I may be biased but I think it is adorable too 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

I like it Jennifer, and you can share directly to your Facebook page. I am finding more interaction there.

Happy New Year and huge congratulations 🙂 That 3D picture is amazing, so detailed.

I got Red Rising over Christmas so glad to see you really recommend it as it’s definitely one I’ll be starting soon.

    Have a great week!

  8. Lexxie

Happy New Year, Kim, and congratulations on soon being a nonna for the first time! How exciting. It must be such an amazing experience to see your own daughter pregnant. And I think 3D ultrasounds are amazing, when I was pregnant with my 2nd child, my grandmother came with me to the doctor for one of my ultrasounds, and she was in awe of actually seeing her grandson before he was born 🙂
I hope you’ll enjoy Succubus Blues, I love Richelle Mead, and I think this one was my first series by her as well.
Have a fantastic Sunday and a great week, Kim.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I am looking forward to listening to it.So neat for your Grandmother. We had one ultrasound for each of our children and it was early in the pregnancy and had none of the details this shows..it was amazing

      • Lexxie

I’ve never had an ultrasound in 3D, so it wasn’t as detailed as the one for your grand-daughter, however, it was later in the pregnancy, so we could still see his fingers and toes, as well as his tiny little nose 🙂
The 3D ones look almost like a picture of a baby that’s already born, both because of the colors and because of the angles of the face and everything.

  9. Booknerd

Looks like you had a great week. 🙂 Ill be excited to read your thoughts on the Witches of Echo Park next week. 🙂 I still need a few bout of books choices…that one sounded good. 🙂

I’ve had Red Rising for forever. I guess I need to bump it up and now I wish I had grabbed Golden Son on NetGalley. Ah, well. Congrats on becoming a grandma! It’s such a wonderful thing! My granddaughter will be 1 on Feb. 22nd. 🙂 Btw, I totally giggled at her “expected release date.”

  15. Michelle

Congrats on becoming a Grandma! My mom said it’s the best feeling every, having kids is one thing but grand kids is a totally different experience. The 3d ultrasound is really cool. They just started it when I was preg with my daughter would have loved to have seen her like that but insurance wouldn’t pay for it. You are about to have an awesome year! So very happy for you and your family 🙂

I am very excited about Take Control of your TBR Pile! I have been looking forward to it 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

We didn’t have anything like that when I had babies. I am excited and everyone says the experience is different and wonderful. Glad you are in for March!

  16. Kimberly Lewis

First, congrats on becoming a grandparent! That is such exciting news 🙂 It’s been a while since I’ve visited your blog (I took a very long break from blogging myself) and the look of your site is amazing. Looking forward to reading more from you. Happy New Year!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Glad you are back. I took off for almost two weeks..it was good I really needed to recharge. I am very excited about Sophia’s arrival. Thanks Kimberly!

  17. Angela

Congratulations on soon becoming grandparents. It’s an exciting time. Our grandparents just visited for the Holidays and love/spool our little one whenever they see him. It’s always fun to watch and experience the love. Good luck on all your challenges in 2015. I’m doing my first challenges this year for reading/blogging. I’ve got Snagged @ The Library, New To You Reading, The Series That Never Ends, and I’ve made up one which is One-Click. (It’s to help me clear out my eReaders. I have a tendency to one-click a lot of free books.) ^_^

    • kimbacaffeinate

LOL..you should try Coyer for those one-clicks. I did a lot of that on my bloggy break! I am also doing series enders. Lately well since blogging I have been afraid to read the last book in YA trilogies. Thanks Angela.

  18. Bookworm Brandee

Congrats on becoming a Nonna!! That’s wonderful! I’m glad you enjoyed your holiday break from the blogosphere. I took one myself. I’ve enjoyed having my kids home. But we’ll return to ‘reality’ this Wednesday. Yay for Richelle Mead. I adore her books so I hope you enjoy her as well. You hauled in some great looking books – I hope you enjoy them all.

    Have a great week!

  19. Kathy

Congratulations on your first grandchild! That is so exciting news! And I love the 3D ultrasounds, I wish they had this when I was pregnant with my girls. I received an ARC for Red Rising from Comic Con 2013 and I still haven’t read it. I keep hearing great things about this book so I have to read it this year. Have a great week!

Squee! How exciting! Congratulations, looks like you’re about to have a very exciting year 🙂

I’m really excited for the Take Control challenge – last year I couldn’t fully commit because we had COYER at the same time. So glad we knew to avoid March this time around so I can join in better!

Have an amazing week Nonna 😉

Yay so glad it all worked this year for Take Control. I am having fun with Coyer..although I need to check about how to update, since my posts are scheduled out. I really suck at follow up with challenges..lol Yes this year looks to be exciting..i cannot wait!

      • Berls

Oh well you can link Goodreads reviews for the books you’re reading right now. As far as updates, everyone does it their own way but I’ve seen lots of people add a short update to their Sunday Post, that way it’s not a whole extra post. Just an idea 🙂 Either way, glad you’re having a good time!

I just finished visiting every blog here before 11:50-ish AM and commented on most. I couldn’t comment on a couple b/c they did an email verification or the comments were not working. And there were some posts that seemed to be only links to other posts and I didn’t have anything meaningful to say on them.
I just wanted to share that I do try to visit and comment when I have the time.
I appreciate your hard work in doing this huge favor to your colleagues.

Congratulations on your upcoming arrival! Being a grandmother is a special role. Those ultrasounds are so good you feel you could pick this child out of a crowd!

The additions to my TBR stack were a bit fewer than yours. I’m trying to be frugal in purchases, conservative with requesting ARCs and avoid overloading my basket at the library. It’s difficult for sure. Your Take Control event in March looks custom-designed for me!

Hey Kimba! I hope your Christmas & New Year’s was awesome! It sounds like you had a great break. I read your last two Sunday Posts, but just didn’t get to leave comments. I totally cracked up about your husband threatening you if you got online. That is so me sometimes!! Lol! I almost took off the whole month of December so I am so behind, but the first week spending time with family from out of town (Chicago) and the last two weeks spending some great quality time with my family was well worth it. I hope you have a great week!

  30. Reanna

Happy New Year, Kimba! And congrats on becoming a Nonna! I cannot wait to see pics of your granddaughter. Trust me – grandkids are the BEST! We can spoil them and then send them home LOL!
