I cannot believe how quickly this month is moving. I have been busy working on Blog Ahead, reading and listening. I am hosting Thanksgiving so will be busy this week. I need to get the house decorated for Christmas next weekend as we are hosting a party on the 7th of December. Not much else new here. It was a fairly quiet week. Have a wonderful week and save me some pie!

I’m not looking forward to doing the big switch to Christmas decorations! It definitely doesn’t seem like Thanksgiving should be less than a week away. I’m really looking forward to your Sarah MacLean review! I’ve only read one book by her and I really enjoyed it but I seem to need a bit of a push to remind to pick up another one. Have a great week!

Oh I love her historical fictions..such delicious banter and engaging characters. I haven’t even started holiday shopping yet. Eep!

  2. Greg

We’re hosting Thanksgiving too so it should be an interesting week. 🙂 I’m glad though, it’s nice not to have to travel. And the long holiday weekend- I plan on watching a lot of movies (hopefully) and eating a lot of pie! Have a good one! And yeah- how is it Thanksgiving already?

    • kimbacaffeinate

Pie and movies sounds good to me Greg. Once the house is decorated I plan to do just that!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Sweet, I look forward to your arrival. Yes I got You..someone may have bugged me to buy it. hehe

  3. Kathryn

I think I might do the COYER challenge so will put you as my referral person! Will look forward to your Never Judge a Lady by her Cover – but want to start with the first in the series. I also have the first Julie Brannagh book on my e-reader so just have to read it to find out if I like her writing!

    • kimbacaffeinate

It was a sweet, clean romance Kathryn..very Hallmark like 🙂 Glad you are joining Coyer 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

I plan to do the same. I am done December all but 2 audio reviews and have posts scheduled throughout Jan and February already. I am back up to 50 posts in the bank.

  4. Berls

I’m some excited to decorate for Christmas! It’ll be the first time in three years, since we were never home for the holidays while we lived in St. Louis. I bought a new tree and decorations last week. Lots of cooking to do for Thanksgiving too.

Thanks for the COYER mention! So glad you’re joining us! Have a great week and a Happy Thanksgiving!

Ooo so exciting Berls. Decorating is fun, and I love doing it even if it is exhausting. We have two trees, and three floors to decorate.

  5. Trish

Decorating for Christmas is one of my favourite things and I love how magical the house seems when its done. Enjoy thanksgiving, I really wish we had that over here 🙂 I love Mary Higgins Clarke, she was the first crime writer I ever tried and even though they seem a bit tame now compared to others, I still love the tone of her books.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Oh I agree it does look magical. I enjoy Turkey Day, you are welcome to come join ours. I use to read Clarke years ago as well. I thought the audio would be a nice mix up 🙂

  6. April

I can’t believe YOU is on sale and I just happen to be SO hard up for money this month and the next for The Holidays and gift shopping that I can’t even snag it! At least I’m on hold for it at my e-library and Hopi g I get my hands on it ASAP, I’m hoping it’ll be able to be the book that drags me out of the reading slump (understatement) I’ve been in for about a month now. I hope you love all your reads and I’m definitely checking out your Gadgets and Apps for Booklovers post! Congrats on the Blog Agead challenge too, you’re doimg great!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Ooo I feel ya! I feel so bad about your slump. Those are the worst. Thanks April!

  7. Lexxie

I’m just not ready for Christmas and decorations yet. At all! It feels like fall just started, and now there are Christmas decorations everywhere. My two oldest kids and I are so busy in December, too, with exams, tests and papers to hand in.
I love JA Huss Dirty, Dark and Deadly series, Kim, I hope you’ll enjoy it, too.
Good luck with the Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations coming up at your house 🙂 Happy reading.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Hopefully the spirit will catch you soon. I am looking forward to reading it Lexxie. Good luck with all those exams..eep!

  8. kara-karina

Yep, the month is flying by, K.! :))) By the way, when you said you will have December ARC free was it a personal thing or you are making it something that can be joined? 🙂 Because I’m taking your example and doing the same. Hugs xxx

    • kimbacaffeinate

Glad you grabbed it. If we don’t like it will will show up at Christy’s house.

I need to come back to your blog and read some more of your posts from this week, but we’re leaving for the airport in a few minutes! But I had to connect my post this morning….LOL..Telling my husband just a few more seconds!

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving, Kimba.

  10. Michelle

I have been waiting very impatiently to put up decorations however I am in full Christmas Music Mode. I failed so bad at the blog ahead 🙁 really should have planned it out a lot more than I did. Oh well, I will try next year 🙂

Thanks for the COYER Mention! This time it will be so much fun 🙂

Have a great week Kim and Enjoy all your new reads!!!

    • kimbacaffeinate

You still have a week Michelle are there any weekly memes you do? You could crank out a few and free up more time for Coyer.

  11. Lola

I’ve been busy with Blog Ahead to and am pleasantly surprised at how many posts I got scheduled. Here in the Netherlands we don’t celebrate thanksgiving, I’ll hope you have a fun week!

  12. Lark

I’m wondering the same thing as several other readers – how is it almost Thanksgiving already? Though it has certainly felt like winter, which puts me in more of a holiday mood. Enjoy your Thanksgiving and putting up decorations for Christmas!

I need to check out your latest How the Heck Did You Do That – I love gadgets and apps! (Wish I had a smartphone so I could use more apps, but some work on my laptop or my husband’s tablet.)

A lot of them have desk top capabilities. We got smartphones two years ago and honestly I would die without it…lol

    • kimbacaffeinate

LOL so true. I work Weds 8-1 though, but will begin preparing tomorrow 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Angela, I am sure we will chat before…but have a wonderful Thanksgiving:)

  13. Tanya M

Wow, you have a busy couple weeks. Sounds like fun. We always say we want to host a Halloween or Christmas party but never get around to it. We had a big birthday party for my hubby this year with 50 people so that will be our party for the year.

I missed the You deal, going to have to see if its still 1.99 on the Kindle. Thanks for hosting. Off to check out COYER and your apps post!

It is still 1.99 go ..hurry! We end up having things here since we have no other family here.

  14. Sandy

Oh boy! Hosting Thanksgiving! I’m pretty sure I would be a nervous wreck. But I am hosting a Christmas party the same weekend you are, except mine is on the 6th. So I’ve got to get my house decorated for Christmas ASAP too. I just can’t bring myself to do it before Thanksgiving is over. Hope you have a great week!

Isn’t it wonderful. I always have at least 3 weeks worth, but depleted a lot over the summer with the wedding. It is wonderful to see 6 weeks worth ready to go!

  15. Kristin T.

I should have done the Blog Ahead thing…I’m so far behind on reviews!!! Oh well…I’ll get caught up one of these days and there’s always next year to participate!

I get a few of the same new books this week – You (hard to pass up that e-book deal and I’ve heard such good things about the book) and The Cinderella Murder – I also got the audio, but I got it from Audible.

Have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving. We’re heading out of town to my sister-in-laws but my husband is doing all the cooking, so we did all the shopping this morning. It was already a zoo at the grocery story at 7:00 AM…I can only imagine what it will be like as the day goes on!

I am going to co-host with Anna and we will have a summer blog ahead boot look for it! I went shopping this morning as well…talk about chaos. I put my ear-buds in and listened to Cinderella Murder while I dodged the crowds in each isle!

    • kimbacaffeinate

It was very Hallmark-ish Grace and a quick read during the busy season!

  16. Rita

I’m a Christmas season lover and yet I don’t feel like doing anything Christmas-y right now. It will strike me after Thanksgiving, I’m sure. My husband’s birthday is the day after Thanksgiving this year and my son will be home from school for 5 days, so I think we will have some fun coming up.

Thanks for sharing your books; the only one I’ve read is Winter Street and enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to the Black Friday event and hope to score a book or GC, but I’ll have fun anyway 🙂

after the turkey hopefully the mood will hit. I do not put up any decorations till after the bird has been eaten! So exciting your son will be home. Happy Birthday to hubby!

  17. Jess

I cannot believe how fast this month has flown by! How can it already be Thanksgiving week? I know things will start to move into high gear this week- so I expect it will be the New Year before I know it. Sounds like you have lots of great things going on this week and you got some awesome new arrivals. 🙂

This year has just flown by. I thought it was because of my daughter’s wedding and other events..but apparently it was that way for everyone!

  18. Mariana

I love Christmas food but the decorations are a big nightmare for me. They always manage to get entangled and the lights need replacement. But they looks so pretty afterwards.

    Have a great Thanksgiving!

I got Come by JA Huss this week too, and Holding Holly sounds like a good read. Enjoy them!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Jillyn. Holding Holly was cute and reminded me of a Hallmark Christmas show.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Yes exactly. We have to venture out early on Black Friday..we do this every other year and I both loath and love it. We visit the shop our daughter is a manager at to get new cell phones. We are usually home before noon and than spend the rest of the weekend decorating, watching movies and enjoying our family time

    • kimbacaffeinate

We do, but I will enjoy time with family. Have a lovely holiday Sherry!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I do too, except for 2 audiobook reviews, one of which I am listening to now. I even have the first three weeks of Jan done. Woot. I am actually going to take a blogging break at the end of December. Something I haven’t done in 3 and 1/2 years.

  21. Bookworm Brandee

I can’t believe how quickly the month is disappearing either, Kimba. Once November hits, it seems like a quick slide to the end of the year…every year. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I’m heading to Texas to spend the holiday with family so I will indeed eat a piece of pie (or two!). 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Join it will be fun, than it March we do Take Control and will be caught up with room for new books!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Sophia. I haven’t read a book by her in over ten years and thought it would be fun to do so with an audio 🙂

  22. Kathy

I want to get our Christmas tree setup this week since we have a lot of days off. December goes so fast I want to enjoy the decorations as much as I can. I’ve had my eye on Mistletoe On Main Street so I can’t wait to see your review. Have a great week!!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Christy @ Love of Books loved it and twisted my arm. What can I say I am weak..LOL I am excited for the holidays too. Have a wonderful week Danee. Happy Thanksgiving!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Very nice. I do everything from scratch, but on Christmas we do surf and turf with twice-baked potatoes and steamed broccoli. Most is done on grill, so I have no real labor 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving Lillian

    • kimbacaffeinate

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, cranberry, homemade rolls, pumpkin bread, green beans and pies, lots and lots of pies!

      • Amber Elise

Sounds absolutely delicious! My favorite part about the holidays has always been the pies!
