Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

This week I am finally starting to feel caught up on everything that took a back seat for the wedding. The weather has been lovely and the fall foliage is beautiful. I have been reading about a book a day, and I hope the trend continues. This week Recipe and a Book Recommendation returns and I am hoping to get some Confessions and How the Heck posts together. This week I have a few reviews that I had written in July, and kept rescheduling when I came across a book I had to review. Does this happen to you? Stay Caffeinated.

A special thank you to birthday gift cards :snort: and to K.A. Tucker for the signed copy of Burying Water. I won this quite by accident. Since I am anal I always post my reviews to Amazon on release day. Apparently she was holding a contest on Facebook for posting reviews to Amazon. Thank you to   for recognizing mu handle and informing rock!

I often reschedule reviews that are written and ready to go; it’s a good thing I use a virtual calendar because with all of the rearranging I do for review dates, a print calendar would be unreadable. 😀

A book a day, wow. Go you!

Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

I am the same Google and the WordPress calendar keep me sane.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Sharon. I had to laugh because I rescheduled a Emma Chase book so often I forgot it have it scheduled later this month. After my review of the next book ..oops.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Oh mine are written, because as you know I am anal. I just keep rescheduling the heck out of them. Yeah I am so curious about Unger’s book.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Anna, it was nice to get that tweet. Have a lovely, lazy Sunday.

  2. Greg

Hey Kimba I saw your post title and that song immediately popped in my head. 🙂 Glad you’re back in action, and yes I do sometimes bump something back- I have one I was going to post 2 months ago, and for some reason it keeps getting bumped. One of these days… have a great week.

Yeah, I break out into song every time I see it..LOL I am so glad I am not the only one bumping post around like ping-pong balls.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Somehow with my crazy summer I got behind on her releases.Maybe a binge but I need to catch up before the next release.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Awe, life can wreak havoc on schedules and plans. Hang in there!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I hope you get to see Fall foliage Camille, the colors are beautiful. Enjoy your week as well

  3. Cait

I reschedule reviews sometimes! Like, for some reason, my Netgally-reads always end up pushed over for my physical reviews. Eh! I don’t know why! Maybe because I’m directly emailing the publicist as opposed to just send back an email to netgalley? >_< My bad! OH MY GOSH THOUGH! Thanks for linking to my post! *flails*

    • kimbacaffeinate

It’s not my netgalley picks so much as those little emails from pub or author saying can you read this for review or I see a book for review in the email they send that I must have. *shakes head* Yep. Oh you are welcome for the link up.

  4. Karen Blue

Congratulation on the win of Burying Water! I so want to read/review that book. I was denied on Netgalley (I waited too long to ask for it I think), I even wrote the publisher and begged for a copy. I haven’t heard back. I am sure I will be buying it for myself.
I don’t have any lingering books reviews, just things I need to write. I love scheduling ahead. That is my goal this week, to stay a few days ahead. It would be nice to be months ahead, but not likely for me.

I usually read and write reviews three weeks out, sometimes four. What happens is, I pick up a new book, squeeze it in and bump a review already scheduled for two weeks from now. This little cycle repeats till I have 4-8 reviews waiting for a launch date outside of the next 3 weeks that are already scheduled. Burying Water was wonderful, and for me Tucker’s best yet.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Em, it is finally scheduled. LOL Hope your week is delightful.

  5. Jan

I’m so glad you’re back in form, Kimba! I just read The Witness by Nora Roberts so I’m looking forward to what you think of The Collector. I hope you have a great week.

Monday Jan. I enjoy Roberts. It feels good to be back into the swing of things.

    • kimbacaffeinate

:snort: You are not alone Melissa. A lot of folks are saying that. Ya all need to join Anna’s Blogger challenge in November, in the blogosphere links above. The idea is to write and schedule 30 reviews in 30 days.

  6. A Voracious Reader

Gotta love some Aerosmith! 😀 I reschedule stuff all the time, but then again I fly by the seat of my pants a lot. lol My New Year’s resolution (well, one of them anyway) is to get the blog shipshape. We’ll see how that goes. *snort*

Good luck, it does feel good when everything is in order, and moving like a well oiled machine.

  7. Michelle

I can’t even figure out how to read a book a day lol. I think that is amazing!
I am behind on reviews but I have forgot that I wrote them and set up the post and just figure I’ll write it later not know I already wrote it 😛

Congrats on the surprise win…Those are always the best wins
    Enjoy all your new books

    Have a great week, Kim!

It takes me between 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours to read a full length paperback. So it varies. Right now I am on some kind of a rush. I read for hour or two at a time throughout the day.

  8. Melissa (My words and pages)

Glad you are feeling caught up! That’s always a great feeling. 🙂 I am still behind but that means there is always something to keep me out of trouble… right? lol.

Oh yes, sometimes I forget there is stuff that needs to go up on the blog that I have to reschedule. But we get there. 🙂

Hope you have a great week!

I read just about anything non-fiction Steph in all age groups. I like to read different genres and never the same back to back. I think it is one of the reasons I never get reading slumps.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I cannot believe I am behind on her books. This summer and the wedding really had me slipping on things.

  9. Karen

I love the little birdies in your ho-ho-ho read-a-thon button. Too cute 🙂

I just found a few reviews still in draft that I wrote a long time ago. I’m glad because now it gives me a little breathing room and I can take a bit of a break.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Breathing room is nice, and its always good to have a few weeks pre-scheduled in case of illness, vacation or emergency.

  10. Jessica

I’m glad that life is finally getting back to normal. Sometimes there’s nothing better than a little normalcy in your life after a hectic time.

As for what kind of blogger I am? I think I’m a mix of all of them. I aspire to be #8. Have a great week!

Wow, sounds like you’ve been doing a LOT of reading 🙂 Congrats on winning your signed book. Looking forward to your Nora Roberts review as I’ve been wanting to read more of her books since loving the Inn Boonsboro trilogy.

    Have a great week!

I’ve been so busy, these got pushed aside. I have a few topics ready I just need to write them up. Thanks Lola

    • kimbacaffeinate

It doesn’t happen often, I usually take one and half per book, or do three days of a book a day and slow down again.

  13. Katherine

Glad you will be back in the saddle! Can’t wait to see what you have planned. Great books this week. I have 2 Belle Andre books but for some reason still have read her. I really must fix that! Have a great week!

I love the feeling of getting caught up. I still need to but one day maybe. Looks like you had a very productive week. I wish I had the time this week for the Read-A-Thon this time around but I plan to do the next ones. Thanks so much for sharing this week, and hosting this awesome weekly. One of my favorites. I have Snow Like Ashes on my TBR and kindle but I haven’t started it. I need to check out your review. Have a great week and happy reading.

Thanks Mandy, I hope you enjoy Snow like Ashes as much as I did. Happy Reading!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Agreed Ali, I actually schedule them and then squeeze in one more arc and bump the poor post back even more LOL

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Elsi, just remember all of that pretty is followed by bitter cold!

  15. Booketta

That’s nice that you can get back to ‘normal’ re. the blog. You had some good books in this week. 🙂

It feels good, I had a lot of behind the scenes interviews, guest posts etc for other blogs and I am so happy to be ahead of the game.

  16. Cyn

I love when we have perfect crispy sunny autumn days! I’m happy to hear you’re getting up on life, haha. And yes, I do sometimes end up bumping reviews way later. Great haul! Hope you enjoy your books, birthday books are that much more special 😉

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Cyn. I am glad to hear so many bump reviews back too. Agreed, birthday books have a little more shine

  17. Lark

Yay for catching up! I can’t say that I’ve found reviews I’ve forgotten about, but I do sometimes have reviews I’ve pushed until later – usually older books that aren’t time-sensitive.

Can’t wait to read your review of The Collector! Mine’s going up the following week. 🙂

I have only forgotten one, and I think it’s because I had the next book scheduled. Mostly I pushed reviews from my tbr pile back to accommodate arcs.

    • kimbacaffeinate

In writing them? I am ahead in that respect, I just over schedule time slots and need to bump things back:)

    • kimbacaffeinate

I am excited about the Whispers. I just learned I am getting the audio, so haven’t decided which I will review. I was delighted about the Tucker surprise. Thanks Whitney!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Squee…I know. I cannot wait to devour them..I do love me some Sullivans 🙂 Oh I was over the moon about Tucker. I adored the novel, so a signed book and a total surprise at that..woot

  18. Kristin

HaHa What a wonderful surprise. I don’t really follow authors :\ I know being a book blogger you really should so you know about upcoming books/ review ops/ giveaways but I just don’t really have the patience to go through 100 authors networking sites. So I would have been in the same boat as you.
    Kristin @ Book Sniffers Anonymous

    • kimbacaffeinate

Yes, I adore her and fell behind this summer. I need to catch up 🙂

  19. Berls

Yay for getting caught up and back on track – that’s always a good feeling. I have had plenty of times where I had to move reviews around so that reviews I had to do could go up, instead of reviews for books I read for myself. Too funny about winning that book for your review – guess it pays to be super responsible about putting those reviews up on Amazon 🙂 Have a great week Kimba!

  20. Kristin T.

I got the new Lisa Unger book, too, and can’t wait to start reading it!!! I also have the Bella Andre books – need to figure out where I am in that series and catch up. I know the latest book just came out!

    Have a great week!

I feel like we’ve got the fall weather over here, but none of the leaves are turning pretty colors! It’s like they go from green to yellow to ground overnight! :/

Good job reading a book a day, I wish I could stay that focused for so long!

    Amber Elise @Du Livre

    • kimbacaffeinate

Bummer on no color changes Amber. Sometimes it happens here as well.

  22. Leeanna

I have reviews from a couple of years ago that I haven’t posted ><. I like to have a backlog, but that's a bit ridiculous. I don't want to post reviews every single day though, so some will likely never see the light of day.

I hope you keep up reading a book a day! Always fun to do that.

    • kimbacaffeinate

LOL, yeah I have 3 weeks out scheduled and complete and then some in draft ready to go for emergency..but years

  23. Tressa

I’m going to go and check out a few of your reviews. I’m curious about a few you have coming up this week too. I hope it’s a great week!

Good to hear that you now have time for yourself. I don’t have a problem with the schedule of my reviews. My main problem is writing them up before moving on to another book lol. But now I try to write up notes as I go to help me write up the reviews faster. You read a lot of good books and now have some new ones that look really good. I hope you enjoy them. Have a great week!

  25. Fay

Wowza you are one busy but organised lady! I am loving this post as there is so much going on but so easy to navigate through and what great books you have too.
